Medical assessments encompass verbal examinations alongside body mass recording, joint articulation tests, thermal response evaluations, and heart function monitoring. The tracking of milestones such as spaying/neutering puberty adult weight stability and senior onset occurs alongside breed-specific or weather-related issues. South Austin Pet Clinic delivers diagnostics alongside core and elective vaccinations plus dental care and pain evaluations with mobility coaching and nutritional advice together with parasite control. The frequency and depth of services change according to age mobility and local climate factors which include spring allergy response summer heat precautions and winter inflammation reviews. Disclaimer: This review is only about trying to call and book an appt for the first time. I cannot review the practice itself and how the vet. I called this morning to make a new appt as a new patient for my dog. Right off the bat, the man at the front, answering the phones, sounded super unhappy and monotone to be at his job. Anyways, he starts asking questions about what type of dog I have and after I said he was a pitbull terrier mix, he proceeded to ask me if he had a good temperament or not. I guess I was a little offended because I have never been asked that before the appt and I felt singled out because he was a Pit. He is the biggest baby in the world. I went elsewhere with my new business and they never asked me if he had a good temperament or not. The receptionist needs more training on people and phone skills... Read Less

The compassion of Dr. Jones is true. He seemed to be more sad than we were. He had the clinic completely hushed. Sweetest vet I've ever met. One of the few good ol' boys left in Austin.

Dr Jones is an old country Dr. Reliable and straight to the point. I like his office because their is no line of people to get through. You get in and get out. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Jones was straight to business. He's old school, no frills and doesn't push anything unnecessary. My dog was recently adopted, and has a cough. Dr. Jones assured me he'd be fine and it'd pass on its own and gave me some antibiotics just to be sure. Dr. Jones is from west Texas, and is easy going. If you visit his office be assured he'll have a great rate and is an old pro. My visit was short and sweet - my very first and last vet.Read Less

When my mom and I went to this office to see about having our cat knocked out to be shaved (shes very skittish), we instantly both felt very wrong. When we walked in the windows were covered and it was very dark inside. There was very little seating and there were no techs or receptionists, only the single vet, a very old man who made us both feel very uncomfortable. The back where the files were kept looked very unorganized and dirty, and when he opened his book to make our appointment, it was completely empty, and we knew something was wrong. This did not feel like a place where animals go to be healed and get better, it looked like a place where animals go to die. I do not recommend taking your animals to this office, there were too many things wrong to risk it. Read Less
