Dr. Campbell literally saved Zoe’s life more than once. It was not a simple task. Zoe had not felt well for just about seven years. This is the best vet I've been to. They really seem to care about your pets. They don't just run in, tell you what's wrong and ask you to pay. Dr Sunbury spent a good 20 minutes with me going over what my cat's diagnosis would mean for us. After a couple of bad experiences with other Vets we went to Sunbury on advice of a coworker with our dog, Mr. Lucky. This coworker volunteers at an Animal Shelter, has animals and is also very particular. They were so good with Mr. Lucky and extended the quality and care of his life as well as being there at the end. Now with our two Great Danes, again they are always there to help. Had a recent issue while I was out of town where one had to go to a Pet ER. I called Dr. Campbell and she spent 45 minutes of her time talking about the situation. They are the best, most caring Vets we have experienced. I highly, highly, recommend them. Oh, and I just called them this AM because I wasn't sure I could give them their heart worm medication with their current meds, and they answered so kindly. I give them five stars and a five hearts. The ONLY downside is... the parking lot. I've had to pop in a few times without an appointment, with no issue. Everyone seems very caring and professional with exceptional customer service; from the doctors to the receptionists. I've been in for issues ranging from getting my dog's nails trimmed to an unexpected (serious) illness. That speaks very highly of a practice, and it is a great benefit to their clients and "patients" to have an experienced staff at every level. I have had pets under the care of Dr. Sunbury, his associates Dr. Campbell and Dr. Taylor, and the clinic staff for almost 30 years. I don't live anywhere near the clinic - haven't in almost 25 years now! - but make the drive from SW Austin for both planned and unplanned vet visits because of the consistent patient-centered care my pets - and their humans! - receive. Reasonable fees, flexibility in scheduling, genuine concern for our four-legs and our family during tougher times, current knowledge of research and medications integrated into interventions and protocols balanced with sage wisdom and reason gained from many years of practice. I'm moving my most-recently-acquired cat from the closer-to-home vet who won't touch her because she's a grouch, and transferring her to Scot's office with our other three pets, where he doesn't mind my old obnoxious Boston Terrier trying to kiss her way in to taste of his brain via his nasal passages. Pets are expensive and the last thing you'd want to worry about is having a crappy vet, good thing we found Sunbury Vet Clinic!I called a same-day appointment and they took care of everything. Customer service is always on par no matter who I speak with. In my experience, I can call anytime if I have questions and can expect to have an answer back within the same day. The employees are very friendly and seem to have a strong passion for all types of animals. They were also very helpful when we had to see a veterinarian  out of town and immediately sent my pup's record over for documentation. Lastly, the clinic is very clean although not sure how the separation works for pups without complete shots. They have different types of treats by the front desk for your fur babies. I took my dog here many times for shots and other issues. After my dog was submitted to the Emergency Animal Hospital, the Doctors here at Sunbury knew exactly what was going on during her check up. Dr. Campbell helped care for my dog Hailey and as things started to go downhill she was great about explaining exactly what was happening, the options that we had, and her best recommendation as a professional. Unfortunately, that recommendation was to put down my pup. She was extremely compassionate and shed tears with me. The next day I brought Hailey in to be put to sleep. Since the minute I walked in, I could tell that everyone cared. I felt compassion from even the people I did not speak too. For it being the worst moment of my life, I felt very comfortable for myself and my dog. I can't thank them enough. Probably the best vet I've ever been to in town. Shopped around a bit looking for a good place to send my puppies and this ended up being the best. I can't even say that I have a preference for which vet I see there--- they're all awesome. Moreover, the front desk staff and the techs are the best. They call after you brought your pet in to make sure everything is still okay. And they'll always answer your questions when you call. They're attentive and prompt in responding to insurance requests, pet records being sent, refills, etc. I literally have zero complaints about them. Read Less

Moving to another city is always difficult, and finding a vet that you feel really cares about your pets is always top on the list when moving. We have been in Austin a few months now, and I wouldn't trust my fur babies with anyone else (unless they recommend them). Our baby boy got very sick, and after many different treatments and options, it was time for him to cross over to the Rainbow Bridge. I have a Seeing Eye registered dog guide. He needs the best care. I have been searching for a vet close to my neighborhood. I live in the north Austin, Wells branch neighborhood. Sunberry vet clinic was everything that I could want from a vet. Friendly and professional staff. Dr. Taylor was truly amazing. She took the time to explain what my dog needed and was able to diagnose what we would need to do to treat him. He is doing well. I think he likes his new vet. I have trusted them with 5 of my babies (two are now over the Rainbow Bridge) they are loving and caring with my babies as they would be with their own. Family doctors are hard to come by and at the Clinic they treat all of us like family. After our senior cat was sick for a few days, we choose to take him to this vet. We were able to get an appointment the same day. The staff were very kind and caring to our pet and they were very honest about his prognosis. The tests they ran were quick and throrough. Though they sent him to an emergency clinic for further testing, the team at Sunbury worked to give our pet everything he needed for transport as well as to cut down on some of the costs we would incur at the emergency clinic. First 5-star review. I was scheduled with Dr. Taylor. There was no push for extra pricey procedures was the first big difference. Dr. Taylor and her asst did a great job with my Doberman and took the time to explain the issues surrounding her condition. She even took my call later to adjust the medication. I have been coming here for 2 years now, I am a little bummed about the communication or knowledge of a specific tech we saw. I am a regular due to my dog's allergies and ear infections(id say about once every 4 months). Anyways the tech asked about allegety testing and I said "its so expensive! Like a grand!" And she agreed. I later had to call because I wasn't given proper instruction on the dosage of medication for my dog, I was informed that allergy testing is only $300;which makes a world of difference considering that every 4 months I'm spending at least $150 on a vet visit. ALSO I would only go to Dr.Sunbury at this location, it seems the other vets overcharged and don't tell you what you are paying for. I ended up paying $15 for my dogs ears to be cleaned-Dr.Sunbury has NEVER charged me to clean her ears before ( I even looked at my old bills for this office to compare). I clean her ears on the regular- if I was told about this cost BEFORE I would have just done it myself(ESPECIALLY since I was buying a $20 bottle of ear cleaner from the office this day). I mentioned that I was unaware that I would be charged this amount once I saw the bill, but it was kind of like "well, it's already done". This is the ONLY annoying experience I have had in two years, but still-it's annoying that the cost isn't discussed before they do treatment. I would just suggest that when you get in you explicitly say " tell the me cost of everything and what you are going to charge me for BEFORE YOU DO IT!" If this had been my first visit I would have definitely scored lower. I will continue to go, because the staff is very nice, the vets are knowledgeable and it's close- but will be very cautious of billing.Read Less

Hands down the BEST Vet around for our Bullies. The entire staff is so sweet and they really know Bulldogs. What I love the most is all the advice and knowledge Dr. Sunbury loves to pass on. They are always more than happy to give you tips to do yourself at home. Most vets want you to come in for every little thing and most really don't have a clue when it comes to the Bulldog breed. We brought our 1.5 year old Boston mix in to see them this evening (open until 8 on Tuesdays. Pro number one). To say our dog is hyperactive is a GROSS understatement. She was 2 months past due on her shots because of how difficult it is to take her in public! I explained this to the front desk guy while my husband and our dog waited in the car. He opened up an exam room and said we could bring her directly into the exam room if we would feel more comfortable! By the time we brought her in, the waiting room was empty, so that was unnecessary, but she still ran around like a dog on speed, and no employee seemed to be bothered. The vet tech helped me with questions that I wasn't even sure I should expect him to be able to answer. When they took her back to take her temp and (won't let me say red fluid in her veins), we heard her squeal like a little pig and were heartbroken over the idea of our baby hating her (same problem here) draw so much. Turns out she didn't mind that but does hate her temperature being taken. Regardless of how difficult she was for that, they were great sports and we all chuckled about how dramatic she was. Dr. Taylor was VERY thorough. I have never dealt with a more genuine doctor for animals OR humans. Our dog wanted to play and jump all over her, not be examined. Dr. Taylor kept her cool and didn't rush through to spare herself the stress. She explained everything in great detail. I have to repeat that I have never dealt with a doctor in any capacity that I've been as confident with or impressed by. Every single person from beginning to end was incredibly patient and in love with animals. They were nice regardless of the fact that we kept them 20 mins past closing! Went to Sunbury for the first time yesterday to have our cat looked at. The staff was incredibly nice and took great care of our little buddy. He was a little spooky, which is not normal for him, but they took it in stride. The best part was when I got the bill. At first I thought it was a mistake! We got an estimate for a teeth cleaning and it was less than half the price of a previous vet. I have no doubt that they will do a great job with his teeth.
