Town And Country Veterinary Hospital

Austin, Texas
General Info
Every design element from lobby arrangement to exam room acoustics at Town and Country Veterinary Hospital in Austin is meticulously crafted to prevent negative imprinting which helps companion animals throughout Texas connect veterinary care with consistency and tranquility. The entrance experience is structured around slowing the pace. Animals with sensory sensitivities can either remain in vehicles if desired or use special side entrances to enter buildings. The internal spaces designed with minimal stimuli enable animals to become accustomed to scents while they settle through observation. Examination procedures commence exclusively after the animal reestablishes foundational spatial awareness. Pet owners detail their animals' morning routines and reactions to visitors as well as expressions of discomfort at home which all contribute to planning the day's visit. Town and Country Veterinary Hospital provides diagnostic services along with hydration assessment injury tracking surgical consultation cardiopulmonary evaluation and immune health mapping. Medical treatment schedules demonstrate flexibility by allowing pauses after diagnostic procedures and resuming later or spreading sessions over several days when imprint risks are elevated. Cats senior dogs and exotic animals have unique memory cues that are respected because they retain environmental associations for extended periods. Post-care guidance emphasizes the process of returning to home life. Determine resting spaces while adjusting light and scent cues for calmness and learn to modify routines when appetite or mobility face temporary disruption. The process of crafting follow-ups relies on emotional recalibration instead of mere symptom regression. Town and Country Veterinary Hospital delivers a veterinary experience that becomes part of the pet's memory and routine for families in Austin and surrounding Texas areas.

After weeks of intensive care, my sweet 16 year old bichon, Maggie, will return home to me tomorrow thanks to the competent and compassionate care of Dr. Arrington. Other veterinarians had pretty much given up on Maggie due to her age and the gravity of her illness. Thankfully, Dr. Arrington did NOT give up! She found a medication protocol that worked for Maggie and she recommended a fluid delivery system that could be managed by me at home. Dr. Arrington answered countless questions, soothed seas of tears, and gave both Maggie AND myself her best each and every minute of each and every day. No words can express my gratitude to this gentle doctor who not only distinguishes herself but also dignifies her profession daily. THANK YOU, Town & County Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Devony Arrington. Maggie and I will always and forever be gratefulRead Less

I have been using Dr. Arrington at Town & Country since I moved to Austin in March of 2014. It was an unexpected move and very stressful, and only weeks later I found out my sweet Pyr Milo had lymphoma. It was an awful time, but Dr. Arrington was extremely compassionate and caring. I did take him back home to his old vet for his euthanasia, but when the time came not even a year later for my sweet 10.5 year old Akita Niko Blue to cross the bridge, I was very happy to have a vet I trusted to help her on her way. I have taken 5 dogs (those two and the three I have now) to Dr. Arrington, and I hope to continue to do so as she has provided nothing but kindness and respect, a good ear, a willingness to listen and the ability to explain what is going on and why she chooses the route she does for treatment in a way that is complete and easy to understand.Read Less

Former client highly discourages the use of his clinic for several reasons. My bill was always much more than the quote, but the main reason for my opinion is due to bad, and frankly inhumane, advice. The individual responsible for goat disbudding strongly recommended that the goat be at least 4 month old for a dehorning. Every other reputable vet I spoke to and every medical document I researched stated that this is quite inhumane and that it is much better for the goat to undergo a much less traumatizing and invasive disbudding at the age of 4 days to 4 wks depending on growth rate. I even called back to further clarify and make sure I didn't misunderstand. Not only that, but I have asked twice now for my deceased dog to be removed from their solicitous mailing list. My colleague has requested the same courtesy for her deceased dog to no avail. Upsetting. I'll drive further for a clinic that aligns with my husbandry ethics. Read Less

Wanted to let people know what an awesome vet this is. We've been coming here for about 3 years now with our 4 year old golden retriever. We have had nothing but superior care as well as customer service. We recently got a new addition, a six week old golden, who had a little incident battling with her kennel while we were at work. Long story short, Town and Country stayed open late for us to make it in so they could check her out and X-ray her. All turned out well for her. Either way this place is full of caring and loving vets, techs, and front desk attendants. They are very reasonably priced and always willing to help. I highly recommend their services. Read Less

I would rate this establishment well below 1 star if it was available.... Me and my family have been patients of Town n Country since I return from Germany in 1995 and they were across the highway from us. I believed in staying local and wanted to have a vet I could reach out to. Well last week my baby pit bull ate something, at first I thought it was a reaction to the pravo distemper shot see had received. Well it wasn't, a week later after much throw up and diarrhea, I did some research called them and took her in. well they took xrays.. sure enough she had something in her stomach, I got meds for her nausea and IV bags to keep her hydrated that only cost $385.00.. only.. I asked how much the surgery would cost and was told $1500.00.. Well come Monday she wasn't any better , I took her in and put down a $500.00 deposit.. later on in the day the Dr called and said sure enough she had something in the back end of her stomach and that they would proceed with the surgery in the morning.. provided I come up with the full $1500.... Well I was able to borrow the remaining $1000.... then I was informed that the $500.00 was already used up and I needed the full additional $1500.. THEY IN NO SHAPE OR FORM WOULD WORK WITH ME...I couldn't come up with it. They did offer to put her down, and include it in the use of the $500 down payment... Skye was a full blooded American Pit Bull Terrier, she was 14 months old...after years of using their service I came to realize the first concern is not the patient or the family.. IT'S ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.. The owner does not care about family... and Skye was family...Read Less
