Travis Country Veterinary Hospital

I've been taking my 3 dogs to Travis Country Vet Hospital for 7-8 years now and nearly every experience has been great. I've had a couple of visits where the doctor or assistant seemed to have an off day but those were a long time ago. All of my recent visits have went extremely well. The staff and vets are friendly and very attentive. My regular vet goes out of her way to spend the time needed to make sure we understand completely our dogs' issues and their treatment options. Prices for office visits and medications are also very competitive. Highly recommended. Read Less

I have been taking all of my dogs to this veterinary hospital for almost 15 years. They are meticulous with our dogs exams. If you have questions they have answers and results from testing within minutes. They also do boarding.The staff is nice too! I highly recommend this veterinary hospital. Read Less

Sadly my furbaby didn't get to come home. Heart disease and protocol vaccines sent him into anephelatic shock and killed him. But I am here to tell you. The team at this 4legged kid doc? If they day comes that I'm able to take on another pet, open up my heart and take that dive again? THIS place is the place to go. Not to mention, the level of compassion and understanding they showed me as I held my pigbull one last time was just magnificent. Jennifer Price? The day ever comes with another emergency situation? Helped me save my baby. In conjunction with the emergency vet on Frontier drive, the ladies got the tests we needed to confirm Addison's disease. He went into and Addisonian crisis Tuesday night, and I thought I would lose him. We thought maybe anaphylaxis or toxicity and together got to the bottom of it before it took my boy.Read Less

Best vet in town. They go above and beyond. I'll never forget when my bullmastiffs had babies (5 survived) and I took them in for first shots, worming, etc. They literally closed down for two hours just to accommodate my babies and to make sure there were no sick dogs around when I brought them in. These were 20 pound 6 week old puppies so still a log of dog. They spent time with every single one of them and thoroughly examined everyone of them (a lot of play time too, LOL). The doctors and vet techs at Travis Country are unbeatable. All of our animals (1 dog; 2 cats) are patients there, and they have supported me beyond belief in making the adjustments necessary to treat my CRF kitty, Cletus. Honestly, Cletus would not be alive and thriving without them.Read Less

We were very happy with services that were provided for our cat. He had asthma and nasal infection for over 6 months. After numerous visits to different vets in a different state we finally came to Travis Country Vet after moving to Texas. About 2 years ago I took my dog to a nearby Veterinarian due to an ear infection. The vet swabed his ear then took the swab to another area. When he returned to the examination room To tell me the results I felt like he was trying to scare me to run more tests... He said my dog could have a form of infection that makes head lines!!! I said oh no, what about my kids? They happened to be with me he looked at them said "should I get the nurse to do the test?" It was going to be another 300$ I said let me call my husband then he started to back peddle and decided to try a Prescription to treat his ears and wanted me to come back for a second visit. We agreed to do that. I was so upset and felt so taken advantage of... I told my sons preschool teacher about my experience. I thought she may have a good veterinarian because she had so many animals both at home and in the class room. I knew with all those animals there's no way she could afford to spend as much money as I was on my crooked veterinarian was charging me! She referred me to Travis Country veterinarians. She said They were very compassionate when she had to put her cat down and didn't charge her for the office visit or gave her some kind of discount I don't remember what it was. Well I went and they told me he just had a small ear infection and that it wasn't anything to worry about the medicine that he was taking would be fine. I have moved to Georgetown it's over an hour away and I still continue to go to Travis country Veterinarians!! I was just there yesterday... We live in the country and my dog Walter was attacked late At at night by a wild animal. I called them as soon as they opened, Brittany as sweet as can be answered the phone and told me to come in as soon as I could. I told her it would take me an hour to get there. She said we will see you as soon as you get here. She asked questions about what had happened told me not to let him eat anything and to get there as soon as I could. When we got there they got a room ready for him and saw me right away. They looked him over then took him in the back to shave him so we could see his wounds more easily. They cleaned him up Explained by the looks of the bites and scratches the kind of animal they thought it was that he would not need stitches But would need to be on antibiotics, They even checked his ears for me. After all that they only charge me a Regular doctor visit of 51.50 they didn't charge for emergency they didn't charge for cleaning they didn't charge for anything just the regular office visit and the prescription My total was only 77.50 at the other place just the visit alone was more than that! I will only go to Travis veterinarian hospital, It's a long drive but well worth it!!!Read Less

We are Grateful to have found such genuine animal protectors & healers! Our dog Hank was a victim of an unprovoked dog fight,which ended badly for Hank. He was summoned to a 10 day quarantine at the pound! I scurried to find a same day safe kennel under vet supervision as an alternative to doggy jail. Every other clinic I called shut out Hank, until I reached these God send folks! The staff welcomed Hank happily & assured he will be loved on &walked during his 10 day stay. They welcomed us back for visits any time! Simply the Best & we will be coming here for care from now on! Read Less

This is a wonderful place, they listen to my concerns, took in consideration all the information I gave. And you can tell that trully care about the fur babies. The visit was a little more than the last place I was, but xrays are cheaper so it balances out. I'm very happy with this place.Read Less

Very knowledgeable and caring staff who is willing to talk through everything with you, especially when making a critical decision. We are new to the area and found them to be very affordable especially in comparison to other vets in the area. One of our dogs has been deathly ill and went through surgery, and Travis Country has taken such good care of her throughout the process. They even wanted to hear updates. Sometimes you learn you have a good vet by going through a difficult situation with your pet, and that's what we did. Check them out, you won't regret it. Read Less

I really like this vet. At first I was unsure because it's really small and the building is really old and kind of dumpy looking, but I board my pets there a lot and the staff always write up detailed reports on how my pets did. The boarding prices are reasonable too. When my dog Huck had an injury, I saw Dr Murphree and I really liked her because she spent a lot of time with Huck on the floor just getting to know him and talking to him before she started his exam. I really liked that about her. My sister also takes her cats here, and she likes this vet a lot too. They're not the prettiest building, but they do good work!Read Less
