I am sad to feel the need to leave a review like this. Took my baby girl in for a standard tooth extraction and cleaning. While everything is fine -
she's healthy and good - my experience was disappointing and not consistent with what I have had with other vets. As an FYI to all incoming/new patients - the "standard" procedure was about $300 over the estimate. They also did not call me to notify me when the cost was over a certain amount even though I requested they do so. My expectation was that I would be informed of her progress throughout the day and that did not happen. I had to call multiple times for a follow up and was reminded on multiple occasions how busy they were - making me feel like we were a number and not a priority. The vet did call to reconcile that but her call seemed a bit confrontational, when really I just wanted an update on my pet. I also didn't receive a call from the actual vet until I had escalated the call and expressed my displeasure. Prior to that my only contact had been with the vet technicians. I cried when I picked her up because she was wrapped in a blanket that was saturated in her own urine. It was not just a little urine - it was soaked - and she stunk which led me to believe she'd been laying in that for hours. Not okay. I did call to address my concerns and rather than feeling heard, I felt like a nuisance for calling (again). If you are CRAZY about your pets, this is not the vet for you. I will continue with a smaller, more personal, vet experience moving forward.

You are all so wonderful to him, for that simple service of nail clipping. Know how to do it gently, smartly and efficient. I so appreciate it all.Drs. The folks at West Lynn Vet Clinic are wonderful. Dr. Rachel D. is amazing! She is very thorough, explains the whats and whys of any examination, conditions and/or treatments she is doing or recommends doing. My Yorkshire Terrier was recently diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor which had to be removed surgically. She walked me through every step, before, during and afterwards. Her technician was also extremely caring and professional. I felt my furbaby was in the best possible care. The office staff was very easy to work with and friendly with appointments and helping me get paperwork I needed to submit to my pet insurance co.

It shouldn't. He has a seizure disorder- docs have been fabulous and knowledgeable with that care. And when they had a question, they consulted an expert, in his disease. Quite without me having to be there. COOL!
Then? He REALLY, really doesn't like his paws to be touched. Makes nail trims, shall we say, LOUD! Techs are so good to him...
Well run office- if you need a "squeeze in" they are there. Everybody in this office is a fan of animals, and the humans feel as comfortable as the pets do.
I cross the city to get there. SO very worth it.

I am a professional dog trainer, and when my darling Chesapeake, Bay, came limping up to me on three legs ( she was playing by the pool 30 seconds earlier), I sprung into action, got my girl in the car and headed to see our saviors! Bay is as tough as they come when chasing her bumper into the water, so when I initially assessed it I thought she must have she fractured some toes or had a tough soft tissue injury. Dog parents always assume the worst and hope for the best. I called on the way, they fit me in immediately. The vet techs are all awesome (professional and warm) and when Dr. Angie came in she immediately talked me down from my "we need to X Ray, should we X Ray? Let's X Ray" mindset and reassessed. I was hopeful that it could be a wasp sting, but she's a hairy little lady and it was hard to tell. Dr. CookieJar examined her thoroughly, picking up on the slightest breathing change to locate the source of the pain. I trust her implicitly and thought it may be a wasp sting where we can't see it, calmed my nerves, gave her a Benedryl injection (I opted for the injection over dosing her myself although she gave me the appropriate dosage amount as to save me some $). The next day Bay was 100% fine and I was beyond relieved. More over, I got to know WLVC that much better. They are a clinic that has integrity and will only run tests when they think it's necessary. As a dog trainer and previous vet tech, I know what clinics overcharge or order tests immediately. This place is completely trustworthy in my book. The vets are all seasoned, intelligent, well educated with amazing bedside manor and integrity. Whenever one my my clients asks me where to take their dog- I always tell them West Lynn Vet, as my girl deserves the best; yours does as well. Thank you to West Lynn, I found the best in Austin; West Lynn Vet Clinic.

Everybody knows it's not much fun to take a cat to the vet!! However, the staff and vets at West Lynn Veterinary Clinic make the experience as pleasant as possible. I have more cats than I want to admit, and occasionally families of foster kittens, so I have been to their clinic a lot. If there is a serious problem with your pet they manage to work you into their schedule VERY quickly and then discuss the treatment options with you rather than just telling you what should be done. I can't recommend them highly enough!!

I have been taking my yellow lab to West Lynn for several years for annual exams, and it was not until I brought him in for a large growth -- that turned out to be cancer -- that I realized what an amazing place this vet is. Dr. Faladi held my hand every step of the way, explained all my options, referred me to the best oncologists/surgeons, called me at night when as she was making dinner for her family, and made me feel as though my dog was her dog. We've had a few smaller issues in the last couple of years, and the service has been the same. I highly recommend West Lynn!

And since I work so much I am most happy with the vets concern with helping me when I can't physically get in where most vets in the past just refuse to help over the phone.. Even if it's just with care till I can get there. These actions all compound to the team wanting what's best for the animal. That is pretty cool. ;) I've never felt this way with a vet and I've had my toy yorkie for 10 years.

What an amazing clinic! I was absolutely devastated when I found out my pit bull was in her end stages of kidney failure and no one could say for sure how much time I had left with her. They gave me every option available to help her as much as I could and really made every effort to ensure her comfort as well as mine with the whole process. I could not thank them enough. We got a new pit bull puppy right before she passed and a handful of months later we find out he has a bone disease called HOD. When I showed up panicking at their front door at 7 am they were and have always been so generous, understanding, and accommodating. Not to mention understanding my financial situation and working with me on my balances... They also see my kitty too. I really can not speak highly enough of all 3 vets here.

Through routine care and vaccines and two devastating emergencies, the staff treated us both like family, with loyalty and love. Since Timber's passing, they've shown incredible compassion for both of us. I couldn't recommend more loving folks to all pet owners and can be certain I'll take my next pup their way for all of his care once I'm ready for another. I have been bringing my Jack Russel here for a few months and I really must say WOW. Before I came to West Lynn I was constantly dealing with my dog having one ear infection after another. This was not only very frustrating but it was draining my wallet. Dr. Hanks switched us to a new brand of food which is somewhat pricey but it has made all the difference. My dog's ears are now fresh and clean and I have noticed that we are making far less ear visits to the Dr. He also seems to be shedding less which is a huge bonus with white dog hair. I wish our last vet would have given us this advice... Great advice. Highly recommended.

He also gave us some detailed instructions on how to keep her teeth healthy in the future. The staff was also really nice and very comforting during the hard time while kitty was under.

I wish I had read these reviews before taking my dog to see Dr. Hanks. Although Dr. Hanks was pleasant when he examined my pet and prescribed medication and food, he ""fired"" me because I called with a follow up question regarding my dog's medication. Apparently he does not like to be ""doubted."" He refused to answer any follow-up questions after my $300 visit (which, incidentally, is expensive but I did not mind paying because I trusted Dr. Hanks), and suggested I take my dog elsewhere. I took my half-deaf puppy to Dr. Biehle at Brykerwood and was amazed by how kind he was and eager to educate me about my pet's health. Whereas Dr. Hanks wouldn't talk to me on the phone about the medicine, Dr. Biehle called me and left me a long detailed voice message about the risks and benefits associated with the medications. The vets at Brykerwood are remarkably less expensive than Hanks, too. It just goes to show you that sometimes the amount of money you pay is not commensurate with the service. Do not take your pet or your wallet to West Lynn Clinic.

From driving by West Lynn Veterinary Clinic and visiting its website, I thought it seemed like a very nice vet's office. I made an appointment, and when I came, the office was clean and the vet tech and vet were very friendly. HOWEVER, as soon as I put my cat on the examination table, the vet tech held him down in a choke hold. He had his hands around my cat's throat, and began tightening them when my cat started screaming. I have been to many vets with many different animals in my life, and I have *never* seen an animal handled in this way. My cat is one of the most laid-back cats I've ever met; he would have just sat there on the examination table and let the vet look at him. But instead, the vet and vet tech immediately sent him into a state of panic by forcefully grabbing him and holding him down. I don't know what cat would put up with that kind of treatment-- certainly no cat that I know. I became so upset that I told the vet tech to stop and all but pushed his hands away. Then, instead of trying a different approach, like petting my cat while examining him, the vet immediately dismissed us, saying, ""I'm sorry. I can't work with him."" My cat was sick, and the vet sent us away because my cat screamed when he was being strangled. I asked the vet if they could examine my cat without strangling him, and he quickly answered, ""no; that's just the way we do things here."" I felt shaken and disrespected. My cat immediately went back to being calm when the vet tech stopped strangling him; they easily could have examined him. But instead, we were immediately dismissed because they strangle animals to hold them down in this office. Maybe that technique works for dogs, but I would like to meet a cat that would hold still without screaming while being held in a strangle hold. If you want a gentle vet who has more interest in your cat's well being than sticking to his method of handling animals, do NOT go to West Lynn Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Hanks saved my dog's life after being chewed up by another bigger animal. I called very upset, and the gentle staff stayed on the phone with me and guided me to their office. They took ""Jolly"" immediately into surgery. I thought it was expensive at first, but called other vets after the I received the bill and realized he saved me $74 from other vets' charges. The other thing I noticed about the clinic is that it does not smell like urine or animals, it was clean and the staff was friendly and patient with me as I asked the same questions, over and over. They assured me Jolly would be OK. He is now happy and back to normal after a life threating attack. I would recommend him to anyone that needs medical care and upkeep for their pet.

Dr. Hanks is very knowleable and diagosed the condition of my pet right away. On my second follow-up visit, his receptionist staff informed me that Dr. Hanks requires pets to be vaccinated every year. My response was that I prefer to stay on a 3 year schedule. Then, I was asked to go to the examination room where his office manager informed me that I was not going to be able to get service at this clinic because Dr. Hanks was very annimate about vaccinating animals every year. He also requires worm tests every 6 months (most veterinarians recommend it once a year.) I think that at a minimum Dr. Hanks should have told me directly this since I was on-time attending my appointment.

This doctor is greedy and very expensive. Not only that the staff is rude and then when my dog had an emergency they wouldn't even call back after 42 hours! They had examined my pet and then 2 weeks ...
This doctor is greedy and very expensive. Not only that the staff is rude and then when my dog had an emergency they wouldn't even call back after 42 hours! They had examined my pet and then 2 weeks later insisted to exam again for another $65 for when I merely needed to board my dog on an in-cabin plane ride...total rip off. The doctor even had the audacity to tell me that he needed an hour and $30 plus $300 for anesthesia to take a baby tooth that was already dangling and about to fall off. Silly...the tooth fell out that day.

It is highly recommended you overlook West Lynn Vet and find another vet. Dr. Hanks is not a gentle man. Sure he's an educated man with experience, but when it comes to gentleness and love, you will get none from Dr. Hanks. He's aggressive towards the animals and his superiority towers above all in the clinic. Really and truly, if you adore and love your pet and want the best care for him/her, West Lynn Vet is not the place for you.

I was very disappointed with the care (or lack thereof) provided by Dr. Hanks. I felt he was pushy and didn't really listen to my questions or concerns regarding my pet. Each time I visited the clinic I ended up spending a fortune, and then had to return (and spend MORE) because my pet's health did not improve. I felt pressured to buy expensive food and products and was made to feel guilty if I did not purchase the items. I later found the same food available online for HALF the price... I expected it to be a little cheaper, but $15 vs. $30 is a huge difference to me. I really felt that West Lynn Vet and Dr. Hanks were taking advantage of me and my pet.

West Lynn is by far the best vet clinic that I have ever been to. Dr. Crawford and Dr. Faludi saved my dogs life and have been taking care of him ever since. The staff there is extremely helpful, very responsive and always make the time and effort to check in on my pet. I would HIGHLY recommend West Lynn.

I am sad to feel the need to leave a review like this. Took my baby girl in for a standard tooth extraction and cleaning. While everything is fine -
she's healthy and good - my experience was disappointing and not consistent with what I have had with other vets. As an FYI to all incoming/new patients - the "standard" procedure was about $300 over the estimate. They also did not call me to notify me when the cost was over a certain amount even though I requested they do so. My expectation was that I would be informed of her progress throughout the day and that did not happen. I had to call multiple times for a follow up and was reminded on multiple occasions how busy they were - making me feel like we were a number and not a priority. The vet did call to reconcile that but her call seemed a bit confrontational, when really I just wanted an update on my pet. I also didn't receive a call from the actual vet until I had escalated the call and expressed my displeasure. Prior to that my only contact had been with the vet technicians. I cried when I picked her up because she was wrapped in a blanket that was saturated in her own urine. It was not just a little urine - it was soaked - and she stunk which led me to believe she'd been laying in that for hours. Not okay. I did call to address my concerns and rather than feeling heard, I felt like a nuisance for calling (again). If you are CRAZY about your pets, this is not the vet for you. I will continue with a smaller, more personal, vet experience moving forward.

I advocated, and you became my partners in it all. GREAT result!Special shout out to the techs. Yes, um, Max doesn't love to have his feet touched, does he? You are all so wonderful to him, for that simple service of nail clipping. Know how to do it gently, smartly and efficient. I so appreciate it all.Drs. Angie, Deborah and Sarah- all of you have done nothing but provide me and Max with the best care. A new Dr., for me- Dr. Rachael- we'll meet one day. The folks at West Lynn Vet Clinic are wonderful. Dr. Rachel D. is amazing! She is very thorough, explains the whats and whys of any examination, conditions and/or treatments she is doing or recommends doing. My Yorkshire Terrier was recently diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor which had to be removed surgically. She walked me through every step, before, during and afterwards. Her technician was also extremely caring and professional. I felt my furbaby was in the best possible care. The office staff was very easy to work with and friendly with appointments and helping me get paperwork I needed to submit to my pet insurance co.

It shouldn't. He has a seizure disorder- docs have been fabulous and knowledgeable with that care. And when they had a question, they consulted an expert, in his disease. Quite without me having to be there. COOL!
Then? He REALLY, really doesn't like his paws to be touched. Makes nail trims, shall we say, LOUD! Techs are so good to him...
Well run office- if you need a "squeeze in" they are there. Everybody in this office is a fan of animals, and the humans feel as comfortable as the pets do.
I cross the city to get there. SO very worth it.

Caring, professional and responsive! My favorite touch is that they call and follow up on how my dog is doing to make sure she is on the mend. If only my human doctor were that good!

West Lynn vet is absolutely awesome. The staff is so friendly, and my dog Layla loves it there! She had to have a little surgery, and they took the best care of her and called me the next day to follow up and check up on her. I felt very comfortable having her in their care, and I would highly recommend them! We have definitely found Layla's new Austin vet! :)

I am a professional dog trainer, and when my darling Chesapeake, Bay, came limping up to me on three legs ( she was playing by the pool 30 seconds earlier), I sprung into action, got my girl in the car and headed to see our saviors! Bay is as tough as they come when chasing her bumper into the water, so when I initially assessed it I thought she must have she fractured some toes or had a tough soft tissue injury. Dog parents always assume the worst and hope for the best. I called on the way, they fit me in immediately. The vet techs are all awesome (professional and warm) and when Dr. Angie came in she immediately talked me down from my "we need to X Ray, should we X Ray? Let's X Ray" mindset and reassessed. I was hopeful that it could be a wasp sting, but she's a hairy little lady and it was hard to tell. Dr. CookieJar examined her thoroughly, picking up on the slightest breathing change to locate the source of the pain. I trust her implicitly and thought it may be a wasp sting where we can't see it, calmed my nerves, gave her a Benedryl injection (I opted for the injection over dosing her myself although she gave me the appropriate dosage amount as to save me some $). The next day Bay was 100% fine and I was beyond relieved. More over, I got to know WLVC that much better. They are a clinic that has integrity and will only run tests when they think it's necessary. As a dog trainer and previous vet tech, I know what clinics overcharge or order tests immediately. This place is completely trustworthy in my book. The vets are all seasoned, intelligent, well educated with amazing bedside manor and integrity. Whenever one my my clients asks me where to take their dog- I always tell them West Lynn Vet, as my girl deserves the best; yours does as well. Thank you to West Lynn, I found the best in Austin; West Lynn Vet Clinic.

Everybody knows it's not much fun to take a cat to the vet!! However, the staff and vets at West Lynn Veterinary Clinic make the experience as pleasant as possible. I have more cats than I want to admit, and occasionally families of foster kittens, so I have been to their clinic a lot. If there is a serious problem with your pet they manage to work you into their schedule VERY quickly and then discuss the treatment options with you rather than just telling you what should be done. I can't recommend them highly enough!!

This review is long overdue. I have been taking my yellow lab to West Lynn for several years for annual exams, and it was not until I brought him in for a large growth -- that turned out to be cancer -- that I realized what an amazing place this vet is. Dr. Faladi held my hand every step of the way, explained all my options, referred me to the best oncologists/surgeons, called me at night when as she was making dinner for her family, and made me feel as though my dog was her dog. We've had a few smaller issues in the last couple of years, and the service has been the same. I highly recommend West Lynn!

These guys are just so amazing and I trust the team so much. The whole team feels like a family. I love Dr. Crawford and Whitworth ! And since I work so much I am most happy with the vets concern with helping me when I can't physically get in where most vets in the past just refuse to help over the phone.. Even if it's just with care till I can get there. These actions all compound to the team wanting what's best for the animal. That is pretty cool. ;) I've never felt this way with a vet and I've had my toy yorkie for 10 years.

What an amazing clinic! I was absolutely devastated when I found out my pit bull was in her end stages of kidney failure and no one could say for sure how much time I had left with her. They gave me every option available to help her as much as I could and really made every effort to ensure her comfort as well as mine with the whole process. I could not thank them enough. We got a new pit bull puppy right before she passed and a handful of months later we find out he has a bone disease called HOD. When I showed up panicking at their front door at 7 am they were and have always been so generous, understanding, and accommodating. Not to mention understanding my financial situation and working with me on my balances... They also see my kitty too. I really can not speak highly enough of all 3 vets here.

This vet clinic is one of the very best. My dog is a bit of a handful and they work around his anxiety and high energy. I had an emergency, they got me right away. I appreciate the doctors and staff here so much. Only issue I have is that they are a litttttle expensive but to me, it is worth every single penny to make sure my furkid is treated well.

On so many occasions, the incredible team of doctors at West Lynn took amazing care of my companion of nearly 14 years. Through routine care and vaccines and two devastating emergencies, the staff treated us both like family, with loyalty and love. Since Timber's passing, they've shown incredible compassion for both of us. I have been bringing my Jack Russel here for a few months and I really must say WOW. Before I came to West Lynn I was constantly dealing with my dog having one ear infection after another. This was not only very frustrating but it was draining my wallet. Dr. Hanks switched us to a new brand of food which is somewhat pricey but it has made all the difference. My dog's ears are now fresh and clean and I have noticed that we are making far less ear visits to the Dr. He also seems to be shedding less which is a huge bonus with white dog hair. I wish our last vet would have given us this advice... Great advice. Highly recommended.

I wish I had read these reviews before taking my dog to see Dr. Hanks. Although Dr. Hanks was pleasant when he examined my pet and prescribed medication and food, he ""fired"" me because I called with a follow up question regarding my dog's medication. Apparently he does not like to be ""doubted."" He refused to answer any follow-up questions after my $300 visit (which, incidentally, is expensive but I did not mind paying because I trusted Dr. Hanks), and suggested I take my dog elsewhere. I took my half-deaf puppy to Dr. Biehle at Brykerwood and was amazed by how kind he was and eager to educate me about my pet's health. Whereas Dr. Hanks wouldn't talk to me on the phone about the medicine, Dr. Biehle called me and left me a long detailed voice message about the risks and benefits associated with the medications. The vets at Brykerwood are remarkably less expensive than Hanks, too. It just goes to show you that sometimes the amount of money you pay is not commensurate with the service. Do not take your pet or your wallet to West Lynn Clinic.

From driving by West Lynn Veterinary Clinic and visiting its website, I thought it seemed like a very nice vet's office. I made an appointment, and when I came, the office was clean and the vet tech and vet were very friendly. HOWEVER, as soon as I put my cat on the examination table, the vet tech held him down in a choke hold. He had his hands around my cat's throat, and began tightening them when my cat started screaming. I have been to many vets with many different animals in my life, and I have *never* seen an animal handled in this way. My cat is one of the most laid-back cats I've ever met; he would have just sat there on the examination table and let the vet look at him. But instead, the vet and vet tech immediately sent him into a state of panic by forcefully grabbing him and holding him down. I don't know what cat would put up with that kind of treatment-- certainly no cat that I know. I became so upset that I told the vet tech to stop and all but pushed his hands away. Then, instead of trying a different approach, like petting my cat while examining him, the vet immediately dismissed us, saying, ""I'm sorry. I can't work with him."" My cat was sick, and the vet sent us away because my cat screamed when he was being strangled. I asked the vet if they could examine my cat without strangling him, and he quickly answered, ""no; that's just the way we do things here."" I felt shaken and disrespected. My cat immediately went back to being calm when the vet tech stopped strangling him; they easily could have examined him. But instead, we were immediately dismissed because they strangle animals to hold them down in this office. Maybe that technique works for dogs, but I would like to meet a cat that would hold still without screaming while being held in a strangle hold. If you want a gentle vet who has more interest in your cat's well being than sticking to his method of handling animals, do NOT go to West Lynn Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Hanks saved my dog's life after being chewed up by another bigger animal. I called very upset, and the gentle staff stayed on the phone with me and guided me to their office. They took ""Jolly"" immediately into surgery. I thought it was expensive at first, but called other vets after the I received the bill and realized he saved me $74 from other vets' charges. The other thing I noticed about the clinic is that it does not smell like urine or animals, it was clean and the staff was friendly and patient with me as I asked the same questions, over and over. They assured me Jolly would be OK. He is now happy and back to normal after a life threating attack. I would recommend him to anyone that needs medical care and upkeep for their pet.

Dr. Hanks is very knowleable and diagosed the condition of my pet right away. On my second follow-up visit, his receptionist staff informed me that Dr. Hanks requires pets to be vaccinated every year. My response was that I prefer to stay on a 3 year schedule. Then, I was asked to go to the examination room where his office manager informed me that I was not going to be able to get service at this clinic because Dr. Hanks was very annimate about vaccinating animals every year. He also requires worm tests every 6 months (most veterinarians recommend it once a year.) I think that at a minimum Dr. Hanks should have told me directly this since I was on-time attending my appointment.

This doctor is greedy and very expensive. Not only that the staff is rude and then when my dog had an emergency they wouldn't even call back after 42 hours! They had examined my pet and then 2 weeks later insisted to exam again for another $65 for when I merely needed to board my dog on an in-cabin plane ride...total rip off. The doctor even had the audacity to tell me that he needed an hour and $30 plus $300 for anesthesia to take a baby tooth that was already dangling and about to fall off. Silly...the tooth fell out that day.

Sure he's an educated man with experience, but when it comes to gentleness and love, you will get none from Dr. Hanks. He's aggressive towards the animals and his superiority towers above all in the clinic. Really and truly, if you adore and love your pet and want the best care for him/her, West Lynn Vet is not the place for you.

I was very disappointed with the care (or lack thereof) provided by Dr. Hanks. I felt he was pushy and didn't really listen to my questions or concerns regarding my pet. Each time I visited the clinic I ended up spending a fortune, and then had to return (and spend MORE) because my pet's health did not improve. I felt pressured to buy expensive food and products and was made to feel guilty if I did not purchase the items. I later found the same food available online for HALF the price... I expected it to be a little cheaper, but $15 vs. $30 is a huge difference to me. I really felt that West Lynn Vet and Dr. Hanks were taking advantage of me and my pet.
