I called yo make an appt for my puppy's shots. They said I could come in right away. I got there within 30 min. I was quickly checked in. Waited only a few minutes when tech came out to get my pup. A few minutes later he was done and they brought him back to me. Tech and front desk were both friendly and helpful.

We recently had to put our dog down, it was a really scary and heartbreaking experiencing for my boyfriend and I but everyone in the facility was caring and supportive. The vet even took a print of his paw for us, even though they don't usually do that anymore. The staff went above and beyond for my little family. 💛

We adopted 3 cats now from them and two dogs all of which were very sweet and loving and have been cherished over the time that I've been sick. We recently lost our first dog who was unlike any dog - my husband who loathes dogs even appreciated him and says he'll miss him. Since I've been sick, it's been wonderful and calming to have the cats to keep me company.

When I took my dog to get his second round of shots, I didn't even get to see a Vet. A younger worker came to the waiting room, and took him to the back without explaining anything. Then I hear him yelping loudly, and realize they must already be giving him his shots. Had they communicated with me I would've asked to be there with him when he got his shots. Again, when they brought him back out nothing was explained. The receptionist told us what we owed, and I had to ask what had already been done, clearly very confused from the lack of communication.
Today I called to see what kind of flea and heartworm medication he needed. The entire conversation the receptionist was extremely short, and rude. Clearly not wanting me to ask any questions. I definitely do not feel comfortable using Bastrop Veterinary Hospital anymore, and will be taking my pet elsewhere.

When we moved from Kyle to Paige, I wasn't sure about which vet to take my dogs to for their check ups, emergencies, meds, etc., but am pleased to say that Bastrop Vet Hospital has been a good choice....
When we moved from Kyle to Paige, I wasn't sure about which vet to take my dogs to for their check ups, emergencies, meds, etc., but am pleased to say that Bastrop Vet Hospital has been a good choice. They have accommodated our two dogs for all their needs including a recent emergency for our older German Shepherd, Ripley, who previously had difficulty with her former vet. But now Ripley enjoys visiting the vet and makes herself at home on one of the chairs and the big sofa. Highly recommend Bastrop Vet Hospital.

I was not impressed with this place. My mom took her cat in who was sick. She walked out an hour later and $400 in cost. They took all these test and gave the cat medication without asking my mom. I went in to discuss the matter, return the $85 in medication and request a refund on half the test. They insisted my mom approved of all the test. They finally came around d and acknowledge they did it without her consent. The cat had a urinary tract infection. I was real disappointed on how they handled it. A skilled doctor would have looked at the cat and with the information provided by the cat owner would have said, lets check his urine and go from there. What this clinic did was run a HIV/AIDS test, blood test, urinary, many test by a technician then the doctor came out told my mom the cat had a urinary tract infection and here is $85 in medication. Sadly, this is how many facilities run these days. We cured the cat with just essential oil application.

I have had only positive experiences here, we have had many expensive pet problems, from our cat getting cancer and amputating her leg (by the way she's still kicking 4 years after) to heartworm issues with our wild dog we rescued. all of the vets we have worked with have been very courteous and knowledgeable. when we found out our middle aged cat had cancer we were expecting to put her down, our vet had just lost her dog to cancer as well so she understood. they took x-rays and her lungs were clean, so amputating the leg with cancer was the best option. our sweet kitty is still up and mobile at 12 with 3 legs.

I have been a loyal client of Bastrop Vet Hospital for over 38 years. We took our pets there when I was a child, and I have continued to utilize their services, even when I lived an hour away. I grew up with Elroy and Bernie Whitworth providing veterinary care to all my fur and feather babies and continue today with Dr. Kimnitz and Dr. Weiss. The front desk staff, technicians and Dr.'s are always kind, courteous and helpful, even when things are crazy in the clinic. Dr. Kimnitz is a gem and listens patiently, even when I am just being an overly concerned pet parent!

This shouldn't be, a vet should be able to handle any animal and these people can.

We brought our dog here with a bladder infection they just touched her vagina told is she had a lot of blood in her urine (which we already knew) threw some antibiotics at us and told us to come back after that for bloodwork and the x-rays because they wouldn't be able to see past the infection. Well she's way WORSE now and two different places have seen past the now fatal infection through x-rays, done bloodwork and actually tried to help. I really wish they would have taken the time to help our dog she's now going in for surgery. Be careful with your pets here.

My dog was bitten by a Rattlesnake on November the 2nd. I live in Austin and the Bastrop vet is about 1 hour from me. a good friend of mine from high school is now a vet there, Dr. Kristen Boone, and when I called her after going to an emergency clinic here in Austin that only provided me with pain killers for my dog, she was able to look at pictures I sent her, prescribe me the correct medication for my dog, which in my opinion saved his life, and send the prescriptions to the nearest pharmacy for me to pick up. I then scheduled a follow up appointment to actually drive out to the clinic and I must say i was pretty impressed. The facilities were very clean and modern and every staff member i came in contact with was extremely nice and helpful. My opinion of Dr. Boone may be a little biased since I know her personally but she was fantastic with Shiner, My dog. Thank you Bastrop Veterinary Hospital and Thank you Kristen! you guys rock and will be my primary vet from this point on!

This place is amazing! I called to ask questions on shots, flea meds and prices. The lady answered all my 715,443,000 questions and never once got frustrated with my lack of knowledge of what to buy. I called back to make appointment for pups and they got me in that very day! We went in and staff was friendly and very helpful! Our pups Charlie and Logan have a vet for life and now have shots and flea and heart worm preventative. The vet was so very nice and knowledgeable. :) great office!

Extremely disappointed. After my golden retriever's surgery, I never even got a phone call after specifically requesting to speak with the vet immediately following the procedure because I was out of town and anxious to stay in touch. I repeatedly had to call back to follow up on promises that I'd hear from the doctor "after her lunch break" and then the next day because it's "her day off". I finally received a call from the front office only to tell me that "things went well and to pick her up before 6". I had several questions about proper therapy and treatment and was assured I'd be called back with answers. Nothing. When we picked Darcy up, we were given conflicting care instructions. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for this office call their customers who have entrusted them with the care of their pets. It certainly wasn't difficult for them to immediately cash my checks totaling $1,200. Will NOT be bringing my pets back to this office.

We recently had to put our dog down, it was a really scary and heartbreaking experiencing for my boyfriend and I but everyone in the facility was caring and supportive. The vet even took a print of his paw for us, even though they don't usually do that anymore. The staff went above and beyond for my little family. 💛

We recently lost our first dog who was unlike any dog - my husband who loathes dogs even appreciated him and says he'll miss him. Since I've been sick, it's been wonderful and calming to have the cats to keep me company.

When I took my dog to get his second round of shots, I didn't even get to see a Vet. A younger worker came to the waiting room, and took him to the back without explaining anything. Then I hear him yelping loudly, and realize they must already be giving him his shots. Had they communicated with me I would've asked to be there with him when he got his shots. Again, when they brought him back out nothing was explained. The receptionist told us what we owed, and I had to ask what had already been done, clearly very confused from the lack of communication.
Today I called to see what kind of flea and heartworm medication he needed. The entire conversation the receptionist was extremely short, and rude. Clearly not wanting me to ask any questions. I definitely do not feel comfortable using Bastrop Veterinary Hospital anymore, and will be taking my pet elsewhere.

When we moved from Kyle to Paige, I wasn't sure about which vet to take my dogs to for their check ups, emergencies, meds, etc., but am pleased to say that Bastrop Vet Hospital has been a good choice....
When we moved from Kyle to Paige, I wasn't sure about which vet to take my dogs to for their check ups, emergencies, meds, etc., but am pleased to say that Bastrop Vet Hospital has been a good choice. They have accommodated our two dogs for all their needs including a recent emergency for our older German Shepherd, Ripley, who previously had difficulty with her former vet. But now Ripley enjoys visiting the vet and makes herself at home on one of the chairs and the big sofa. Highly recommend Bastrop Vet Hospital.

I was not impressed with this place. My mom took her cat in who was sick. She walked out an hour later and $400 in cost. They took all these test and gave the cat medication without asking my mom. I went in to discuss the matter, return the $85 in medication and request a refund on half the test. They insisted my mom approved of all the test. They finally came around d and acknowledge they did it without her consent. The cat had a urinary tract infection. I was real disappointed on how they handled it. A skilled doctor would have looked at the cat and with the information provided by the cat owner would have said, lets check his urine and go from there. What this clinic did was run a HIV/AIDS test, blood test, urinary, many test by a technician then the doctor came out told my mom the cat had a urinary tract infection and here is $85 in medication. Sadly, this is how many facilities run these days. We cured the cat with just essential oil application.

I have had only positive experiences here, we have had many expensive pet problems, from our cat getting cancer and amputating her leg (by the way she's still kicking 4 years after) to heartworm issues with our wild dog we rescued. all of the vets we have worked with have been very courteous and knowledgeable. when we found out our middle aged cat had cancer we were expecting to put her down, our vet had just lost her dog to cancer as well so she understood. they took x-rays and her lungs were clean, so amputating the leg with cancer was the best option. our sweet kitty is still up and mobile at 12 with 3 legs.

I grew up with Elroy and Bernie Whitworth providing veterinary care to all my fur and feather babies and continue today with Dr. Kimnitz and Dr. Weiss. The front desk staff, technicians and Dr.'s are always kind, courteous and helpful, even when things are crazy in the clinic. Dr. Kimnitz is a gem and listens patiently, even when I am just being an overly concerned pet parent!

This shouldn't be, a vet should be able to handle any animal and these people can.

We brought our dog here with a bladder infection they just touched her vagina told is she had a lot of blood in her urine (which we already knew) threw some antibiotics at us and told us to come back after that for bloodwork and the x-rays because they wouldn't be able to see past the infection. Well she's way WORSE now and two different places have seen past the now fatal infection through x-rays, done bloodwork and actually tried to help. I really wish they would have taken the time to help our dog she's now going in for surgery. Be careful with your pets here.

My dog was bitten by a Rattlesnake on November the 2nd. I live in Austin and the Bastrop vet is about 1 hour from me. a good friend of mine from high school is now a vet there, Dr. Kristen Boone, and when I called her after going to an emergency clinic here in Austin that only provided me with pain killers for my dog, she was able to look at pictures I sent her, prescribe me the correct medication for my dog, which in my opinion saved his life, and send the prescriptions to the nearest pharmacy for me to pick up. I then scheduled a follow up appointment to actually drive out to the clinic and I must say i was pretty impressed. The facilities were very clean and modern and every staff member i came in contact with was extremely nice and helpful. My opinion of Dr. Boone may be a little biased since I know her personally but she was fantastic with Shiner, My dog. Thank you Bastrop Veterinary Hospital and Thank you Kristen! you guys rock and will be my primary vet from this point on!

This place is amazing! I called to ask questions on shots, flea meds and prices. The lady answered all my 715,443,000 questions and never once got frustrated with my lack of knowledge of what to buy. I called back to make appointment for pups and they got me in that very day! We went in and staff was friendly and very helpful! Our pups Charlie and Logan have a vet for life and now have shots and flea and heart worm preventative. The vet was so very nice and knowledgeable. :) great office!

Extremely disappointed. After my golden retriever's surgery, I never even got a phone call after specifically requesting to speak with the vet immediately following the procedure because I was out of town and anxious to stay in touch. I repeatedly had to call back to follow up on promises that I'd hear from the doctor "after her lunch break" and then the next day because it's "her day off". I finally received a call from the front office only to tell me that "things went well and to pick her up before 6". I had several questions about proper therapy and treatment and was assured I'd be called back with answers. Nothing. When we picked Darcy up, we were given conflicting care instructions. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for this office call their customers who have entrusted them with the care of their pets. It certainly wasn't difficult for them to immediately cash my checks totaling $1,200. Will NOT be bringing my pets back to this office.
