We call him Doc. This vet is older and very experienced. He does not charge for tests he will know the answer to without administration!

He is a nice guy, don't get me wrong. However, he can only take care of minor animal problems. Anything surgery related, you might want to think twice and do your research. I brought my dog to him for the past 8 years. She has a lump on her lower back few weeks ago. Instead of aspirate to test what it was, he assumed It's a cyst. And tell me to remove it. I don't know any better because I trust him as a doctor so I listened to him. Right....It's a freaking solid tumor after he removed. And he would dare to tell me it will be OK, It's not a spreading tumor, so don't worry. After the surgery, my baby keep having swelling problem to the site. I keep bringing her back to him and remove like 2-3 syringes of blood out the site. After 2 months of surgery, my dog starts to stop eating. I brought her back to him and can't figure out what is wrong with her. After a recommend from friends, I did an ultrasound on her abdomen. They found a mass on her spleen. And other object. I brought her to Gulf coast veterinarian specialist in Houston. They know what they are doing. The vet told me we going to redo ultrasound. After a long wait, the result come out that she has cancer on her spleen and the old site that doctor Wehner remove recured. Now doctor told he she only can live up 6 months after the spleen remove, and radiation and chemotherapy have to be done on her back for the recured. Other wise, she can go anytime. In conclusion, please think twice before you decided to let do surgery. Other do your research. Read Less

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Wehner and his staff. You can tell that he is not in the business just to make money. This man loves animals! I can assure you that he will NEVER be out to get your money, which is a rare occurrence in today's world. I have overheard several times him telling someone who couldn't afford care for the animal that he won't charge them this time. This man has a great heart!A while back we had an issue where our dog injured his back. Dr. Wehner called us to check on him the following day. I was shocked. I have never had a human doctor call to check on me, ha! My little guy had his luxating patella surgery done by Dr. Wehner also and has done great! I trust this man and his staff with my life!!! He loves animals and it shows! First of all, he will always find a way to fit you in, if there is a problem with your little one. This includes returning your after hours phone calls. In addition, he does not shrug off even your most minor worries about your pet. Instead, he examines all of the possibilities, without running excessive or expensive tests. You can truly trust his opinion and not worry about him trying to swindle you out of money. Add on top of that, years of experience, and you can't go wrong. I highly recommend him as one of, if not, the best vets in the area. Read Less
