Today I called my Vet Clinic as my dog is experiencing ear pain. I checked his ear, and yes he needed to see the Vet. When I called, I was told that they were too busy to see him and it would have to be Monday, maybe Tuesday. The receptionist was very immature, unprofessional and snippy with her attitude.I was very surprised to be treated this way, as I was not a new customer. I had taken my dog there for care three other times. When I first was there I told the Vet I appreciated his "country vet" approach. I grew up in rural northern California where the Vet we used did large animal work, but also saw our dogs when we needed him. I would understand being turned away, if I had never been there before with my dog, but this was not the case. I have found a new vet at this point. I need a vet that I can rely on when my dog needs to be looked at. It took my new vet ten minutes with my dog, and gave me drops for his ears. A very simple diagnosis, which I already knew. Westies have allergies and my dog gets ear infections about once a year. Nothing new. Pets don't make appointments to be sick, get ear infections etc but they still need to be checked. Telling me my dog can be in pain for two to three days just doesn't work for me.I told my friend that originally referred me to this clinic. He was very surprised the Vet there would do this.
