If I could give -100 stars I would. Don’t trust this company with your pets. My Retired Army Bomb dog passed away last month. Wanted to get her creamated so I can spread her ashes. I PAID FOR A PLAQUE WITH HER NAME AND PAW PRINT ON IT! The day I dropped her off I waited in the parking lot for over 3 hours waiting for them to bring her in. After I gave her to them staff said it would take 7-10 business days. Well a month later still no communication from them. I called them yesterday(a month later) and staff said she is ready to be picked up. I drive all the way to Beaumont from Winnie grab her ashes and drive all the way back home. When I get home and look in the bag, there’s no plaque and no paw print. So I called them and lady said the dog was too decomposed to do paw print. (Which I completely understand). So I spoke with the manager who was extremely rude and not sympathetic AT ALL essentially said just come get your refund of $25. THEY DIDNT EVEN TELL ME THEY DIDNT DO THE PLAQUE UNTIL I CALLED THEM! NO COMMUNICATION FOR A MONTH. -Said they called me 1 time in a month but weren’t able to leave a voicemail. So staff only attempted to call me 1 time in a month?? What’s happens after 1 call? Give up?? I TRUSTED YOU WITH MY LIFE, MY BEST FRIEND, A DOG THAT HAS BEEN TO AFGHANISTAN 2 TIMES WITH THE MILITARY. I TRUSTED YOU! Word travels fast in SETX! I’ll be contacting the BBB and leaving a review of my exp with your company on every APP and website I can Read Less

This review is only in regards to the technician I spoke with. I have no experience with the veterinarians, and cannot comment on their services or professionalism. To make a long story short, if you plan to be seen at this clinic, be sure to show up in a chipper mood. After waiting over 30 minutes to be triaged (totally okay with me as I understand there are always animals with greater needs than mine), I was met by a technician who was a bully, verbally abusive, and literally told me that because I was being "rude" that my dog would "have to wait a lot longer". Mind you, my dog had been attacked and had multiple lacerations to her neck. He was looking at my dog laying down in the back of my SUV while telling me that I have a bad attitude and that he was putting her at the bottom of the list. Behind a dog that had an inflamed eye. This is NOT how triage works. The fact that this technician, Jason, punished my pet because I didn't feel the need to coddle his emotional instability is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody comes to the ER vet having a good day. I can handle him being rude to me, but punishing my injured family member out of spite is poor ethical practice among many other things. Please know that if I was a man, he would have NEVER spoken to me this way. I'm a 32 year old female, and was alone and scared. Apparently my tone was not to his liking. Included is a picture of what another practice did to help my dog. Just to clarify that this was more than a small wound. Yes, I had to leave and find somewhere else because he left me outside after looking at my dog. He went in and put her chart away to punish me. He did all of this while we were alone in the parking lot. I have never in my life had a grown man condescend me and speak to me this way. I'm an RN and deal with rude patients daily, but this doesn't change the fact that I am there to help them. If I behaved in the manner he did, I would lose my license and be fired. It's abuse. Plain and simple. Against me and my animal. Read Less

I am so glad I found them! I brought my cat because she has an abscess that has not been getting better in almost two months. She has gone to the vet multiple times for the same issue and the regular vet was closed. I was concerned about waiting one more night so I brought her in. I knew it would be expensive because they usually are, but they worked with me and my budget while still taking good care of my fur baby. Their facility is very clean but the waiting room is a little unwelcoming if you have a long wait. The staff was amazing, very friendly and understanding. They took the time to explain everything to me and made me feel at ease. Will definitely return in case of an emergency. Read Less

She was having puppies and started having trouble and our vet was closed of course. It was 9:00 PM. We couldn't pay for the c section out of pocket because we aren't made of money. So they refused to help us. So my dog died. Because this place refused to help her because they "don't take payment plans" as the woman rudely said to us. We had to take our little Gigi into this vet hospital on Christmas Day, she apparently got into something but not sure just what. After 3 days of pooing mostly blood we took her in. They initially said to exam her was 95.00. After they examined her the Dr came in and said it could have been something she ate which of course we already knew that, and recommended a variety of tests on her, a series of tests that checks for multiple things, which I agreed to for another 200.00. The Dr came back in and said the tests showed no problems. I asked if this was going to include anything to help my pet with the discomfort that she was in. She was in pain. The Dr said no that they would have to give me an estimate for that... I couldn't believe it, and came back in for another $200.00 additionally for medication for her. I couldn't believe it for 290.00 that didn't include anything for her discomfort, antibiotics or anything. I was at a vet emergency hospital but all they did was keep giving me estimates for different things. They did nothing for my pet, so we left. After speaking with the owner tonight she said that most of the time they ask what your budget is? What your budget is? Really? Budget? $290.00? Another $200.00 for medicine? You bring your pet to an emergency vet hospital to get your pet taken care of. My little Gigi received no care from this facility, all they wanted was the money, and I would not recommend anyone take your pet here.Read Less

Ok so m best friends cat was attacked by pit bulls.so we bring the car here to this so called loving animal hospital that is supposed to be a emergency center for our loved ones..and they charge them 400$ just to look at the cat with multiple open wounds..then gave the cat pain medication and then charged her more for x-rays. After xrays, which didn't show any damage internally they changed the estimate from 600-900$ to 1200-1400$ and wpuldt do anything else for the cat at all until that was paid! All this poor cat needed was to be sewed up in many places...it was bleeding everywhere and suffering..what kind of animal place iz this?!?! Knowing no where else was open to help they know that people will pay anything to go there little loved ones. So they sent them home with the cat to hold tight in a towel until morning in which every vet we contacted was willing to help he cat by sewing him up and sedating him for less than 300$. After someone not in the family did not close the gate to our fence completely, my daughter's chiweenie got out without anyone knowing. I heard a dog cry out after being hit by a car and it was Max. The people in the truck would not help us and drove away after I spoke with them. As it was evening and our regular vet was closed, I drove with my mother and daughter from Groves to the SE TX Animal Emergency Clinic as quickly as possible...........I  would have paid for a speeding ticket if needed. After explaining the situation to the front office, we waited an extremely long time to have the dog examined and care for. We were brought into a small waiting room and was given both a diagnosis, treatment plan and a hopeful outcome. I would have paid whatever necessary to save his life. Later, we were told that he could go home even though I wanted him to stay overnight and watched for any possible complications/or any further medical care. We had been there for several hours by that time.  We were assured that he would fully recover. They discharged him with  medical directions and more pain medications. He was kept warm all night long and watched over but died in the night while sleeping. My college age daughter was crushed by the death of her less than 2 year old otherwise healthy dog. i was simply in shock and in disbelief, called the clinic that morning to let them know what had occurred. This was not the outcome the vet had predicted. No apology was given, no offer for possible future vet services for any other pets to compensate, no refund was mentioned, no offer to cremate him and return his ashes to our family. He is buried in our backyard. I did not complain to the State Board but wish that I had. It simply did not enter my mind at the time. DO NOT PUT YOUR PET DOWN IF YOU FEEL LIKE IT WILL SURVIVE...we were told to put ours down last year, and she is still alive to this day. The unnamed vet that works at this location provided no data analysis that supported to putting our dog down, and as she went through the numerous surgeries that "could" take place and what "could" happen, it seemed as if they only had a small piece of data that lead to a very finite conclusion, which was not to euthanize. This place provides no help via the internet, as most of you will live quite a ways out from them. They cannot make a decision based upon pictures to weather or not bring a dog in COSMETICALLY, not medically, to fix the cosmetic issue. However, they use their in house technology to make other decisions that deal with the issue at hand on site--no sense. Before you begin the argument of the technology piece above, taking a picture of a cosmetic wound as opposed to seeing it in person 2 hours later is worse why? For example, If a dog lost a leg completely in a photo and the tech says, "Well, you will need to bring your dog in for the Dr. to see him/her because the photos don't suffice..." WTF, ARE YOU KIDDING ME...although this was not my condition, but this is their UNREASONABLE LOGIC AT THIS PLACE. There is only one vet at that location I would trust, and you will know who she is when the other one comes up to you to suggest a "death"... DO NOT PUT YOUR PET THROUGH UNNECESSARY SURGERIES THAT WARRANT UNCONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE...BEWARE OF THIS PLACE...MONEY OVER LOVE...SCREW THIS PLACE... Read Less

I didn't feel like we ever got a clear answer until after we had to make the decision to put our dog down . It's almost as if they were trying to get the money out of us to try and fix our dog even though I think they knew one way or the other it would be a waste of time or wouldn't. After we decided to put her down because of the astronomical price they gave us to try to fix her with possibly a bad outcome anyways then the vet pretty much said how bad her injury really was. I saw other families leaving crying and saw another animal being carted out in a box. It's as if the prices are so high they leave you no choice but to take the cheaper route of putting your beloved animal to sleep. Makes me wonder if they're there to help or strictly make money. The location of this place is terrible. While I was sitting in my vehicle with my two children a crack head black woman walked up to my car off the feeder road while we were crying our eyes out after making the decision to put our best friend down and knocked on my window and looked like she wanted to hurt us. I had to literally drive around her to get away from her while my husband was still inside with our dog that they were putting asleep. Then she practically chased me around the parking lot. We did not need this at a time like that. They really need to move this business into a safer location. I felt like mine and my kids lives were in danger that night. Well, first for anyone to turn an injured animal away having the proper equipment to deal withe injury is wrong. I understand as far as paying for your service and I very much agree, however an accident is called an accident for a reason... You can never be fully prepared for an accident. We have all had financial issues, wheel a lot of us have and it's hard when u get into a bind and cannot afford care for ur animal, but u should never expect free handouts. I guess point being mine anyways no animal deserves to be turned away and left to suffer in some cases animal healthcare providers may not be obligated but out of care and compassion I believe every healthcare provider, human or animal should at least consider the circumstances . As far as my experience goes I had a female mini daschound go into labor in the middle of the night and this doctor that I talked to, she did not jump the gun and tell me to come n, she was very polite and professional and she showed compassion for my situation. Had it not been for her my dog and her unexpected time of going into labor at 2 am would probably not have done so well the pups would probably not have survived. Thank you for your time and advice. I was well on my way to doing the wrong thing for my dog, after I spoke with this female vet I felt very comfortable letting my dog alone to take care of her business. Thank you dr. So much Read Less

Not sure how many times we have visited the clinic with our crew of dogs at this point...more than I count...Every time has been incredible for us...the cost is more than your normal vet obviously because the clinic is an after hours emergency facility...but I will say what we have spent there for our dogs when they needed emergency help was worth every penny......One of the vets at this clinic truly save our oldest Great Danes life .....our dog had been boarded at popular boarding facility here and they gave her a blanket WE DID NOT SUPPLY and she swallowed a large portion of the blanket there... we were totally unaware this had happened when we left the kennel .....that evening when we arrived home we realized something was terribly wrong when she could not eat or even drink water .......we took her to the emergency clinic where Dr Glanzer found the obstruction and began emergency surgery our dog.....The surgery was serious in that the portion of the blanket swallowed was between 3 to 4 feet long and lodged in a difficult area of her stomach that would require multiple incisions to be removed....long story short she is the healthiest dog we have today and we have never been cared for like we were with this crew at Southeast Texas Emergency Clinic....We have 3 sick dogs right now with terrible coughs , high fevers this week they have seen there regular vets 4+ times one is on an IV at our our regular vet and my youngest Dane has been to the emergency clinic 3 nights this week as well .... again this time around the care from the clinic has been impeccable we have seen Dr. Anna one night... Dr. Wilkinson one night.... and Dr Dupre the last night these ladies are amazing!......I truly love all of them and our doggies do as well .....This is one long review but they are worth it and so much more.........My only wish is that the 4 vets we have seen at this clinic had an everyday all day clinic so I could use them 100% of the time! Thanks to the staff as well by our third visit there the staff had our papers filled out and because our dog is so big were meeting me outside to help me get her in .......They are caring ...They are Careful and They have more than helped our family at every visit! Thanks everyone there ....we love you guys and so does our pack! Read Less

I just wanted to extend my appreciation for the staff at the emergency clinic. Twice in the 10 year life of my beloved cocker spaniel they were there to rescue her. Once for poision control as a puppy , and again, recently, to end her suffering following a tragic accident with fatal injuries. Both instances they showed complete compassion and concern for my family, both human and canine. We will be forever grateful to the caring spirits we encountered in both visits. with no diagnosis of any kind, not even an idea. our beagle had gone into seizures on a saturday night of all times. we had no choice but to call our family vet and see what they had listed on their answering machine as far as where to bring your pet in case of an emergency. this place was what they had listed. so we rushed her there. they did give her a valium to calm her and brought her temp down from what the seizures had caused. my problem with this place is that after having her from saturday night till monday morning, when we picked her up, they , or the vet there on staff still did not have any kind of clue as to what might be going on with our dog given her history, or what should be a seasoned vet's knowledge of animals. all they could tell my daughter when she went to pick her up after me, her mom, put $100.00 down, paying $500.00 through care credit and then paying another $288.00 out of pocket when we picked her up, was that it must be something neurological. well you think!!?? i could not believe it!! my daughter then was able to bring her to her regular vet which immediately gave her different and definant scenarios as to what could be going on. she is there right now being monitored over night and i have full confidence in that he will be able to tell us something about her condition when we go to pick her up. we will not be in the dark like this expensive emerg. vet place kept us. all they did was suck up our money and gave nothing in return except i can say they kept our dog alive. i really expected to walk away with a lot more than empty pockets. i will look online for other emergency vet stations, if any, to keep from going to this money sucker, dont do nothing crap hole. i really believe they do take you for everything your worth when you go there. it wouldve been worth it had they given us something about her condition, but they did not. will never go there again if i can help it. by the way, if any of those reading this would like to know for their own info as to what her regular vet said could be causing these seizures in what is usually a very healthy dog was 1. an inner ear infection 2. distempher (which she did have a vacc for) but cold possibly still get 3. neurological. good news is that if he finds it is something he can treat he will be giving her seizure preventive meds. now why couldnt this other place have done that?? My dog was very sick we thought he was poisoned. Our regular vet was closed my wife drove 45 min to get to this hospital. I had called ahead of time from Colorado to let the vet know that she would be coming and the situation as several other dogs on our street had been poisoned in the last two months and taken to this vet hospital. My wife arrived and due to the fact that she did not have $350.00 on a credit card they refused to care for my best friend (dog), or take a family members credit card. They sent her away with a pain shot only for the dog which cost us $125.00 well at least he will not be in pain when he dies thanks to the vet hospital that is only in business for the money not for the true love and care of animals. I would say you are better off saving your time and gas money going to another vet! I did get a hold of my vet later Dr. Benton at Silsbee Animal clinic he said he would make a special trip in after hours and worry about the money later, he was truly concerned about my Dog. FACT: SETAEC is NOT under any circumstances a FREE animal clinic. Would you go into walmart and demand they give you your food and supplies on the basis that you promise to return and pay? No? I don't think that would go down to well. This animal emergency hospital runs on the same basis. If you can not afford to house, feed, and maintain your pets health then WHY do you have one to begin with, or why would you allow it to become pregnant knowing the risks involved? It is not THEIR fault that your animal was unsupervised and allowed to drink chemicals, nor is it their fault if your dog is pregnant and having trouble delivering the puppies. The SETAEC is run by board members who set forth the rules. So try to understand that the person your yelling at over the phone and the doctors who care for your pets have to follow those rules. Secondly, they can NOT give you information over the phone because that makes them liable if YOU screw it up. This does not run like a human hospital, those who are naive to think so should reconsider owning a pet. If you do not pay for your services then the hospital goes broke, then your choices would be either Lake Charles, La. or Houston. That alone is the main reason human hospital bills are so high. Your paying for all of the people that "promised" to come back and pay. They provide a service that no one else does during the night time, weekend, and holiday hours. The doctors and the staff do not have magic wands, but they ARE wonderful people, not animal killers. They have treated several of my animals with curiosity and professionalism among MANY other people as well. The owners who have an animal they can't afford to treat are the responsible parties there if their animal dies, not the people who strive to save everything that comes through their door to the best of their ability. So if you want the best care and knowledgeable doctors at 2am when no one else is available to help, SETAEC IS the best place to go. Don't be blinded by people who are angry that they didn't get free services or that were asked to pay for their services and are angry that they couldn't. They also offer care credit as an alternative source, which no one here seems to have mentioned.Last but not least, might I add that one of these ratings is completely incorrect, the gentleman didn't even attempt to go into the hospital, he just called. It was never a forgotten wallet, and IF that had been the case would he have ran home and grabbed it? So he wasn't turned away just as an FYI. I'd be concerned about a lawsuit suing him for slander and liable if I were him, since there is no record of him visiting tonight. Secondly, the telecheck that was denied... if it was morning time, why would you just run down the road to an ATM or your bank and pull the money out if it was there?::It's better to let people assume your stupid; than to speak and remove all doubt.:: SETAEC customer, because I AM responsible for whatever may happen to my pets. Unless you have a pocketful of cash or a credit card with a high limit, don't endanger your pet's life with this bunch! Took my pregnant, in labor for 5 hours, dog to them. After three hours of Dr. Graham trying to "induce" labor, telecheck rejected my debit card with a balance well over the amount, my check on the same account and could only give the reasons of: My check number was too low; no history with them; or my financial institution doesn't release information to them. The "deposit" required was $1229. For 3 hours, 3 shots, and 2 Xrays, the balance due was $259, which telecheck accepted, and Dr. Graham sent my dog home to die!! By the time I could get someone to come and get the dog, since I was working the next day, it was 8 a.m., so the dog had now been in labor over 13 hours, minimum. When they arrived with the dog, Dr. Graham began to belittle me to Dr. Dobson and then proceeded to belittle the person who had brought the dog in, possibly unaware that every word she spoke could be heard in the waiting room. Read Less

We brought our German Sheppard there yesterday not knowing what was wrong they informed us it was parvo, the vet tech was very sweet and went over everything with us when she was in the room as for the vet the lady was just rude. She wanted us to leave the dog over night, pick him up the next morning an bring him somewhere else to be kept for 5 more days. We told her many times we couldn't afford what she was wanting. Every time she came in she was just blunt and not very understanding we didn't have over $1,000 for one night worth of stay there. They did help an give medicine after arguing to bring him home an let me do what I could. I am thankful they were open after hours but their prices are very outrageous. Read Less

Places where they're in it for the love of animals and make money doing it! This hospital for animals is a terrible place to go when expecting an help for your babies!!Read Less

People should not have to worry about stuff like that at bad times like ours. Read Less

Thanks to the staff as well by our third visit there the staff had our papers filled out and because our dog is so big were meeting me outside to help me get her in .......They are caring ...They are Careful and They have more than helped our family at every visit! with no diagnosis of any kind, not even an idea. our beagle had gone into seizures on a saturday night of all times. we had no choice but to call our family vet and see what they had listed on their answering machine as far as where to bring your pet in case of an emergency. this place was what they had listed. so we rushed her there. they did give her a valium to calm her and brought her temp down from what the seizures had caused. my problem with this place is that after having her from saturday night till monday morning, when we picked her up, they , or the vet there on staff still did not have any kind of clue as to what might be going on with our dog given her history, or what should be a seasoned vet's knowledge of animals. all they could tell my daughter when she went to pick her up after me, her mom, put $100.00 down, paying $500.00 through care credit and then paying another $288.00 out of pocket when we picked her up, was that it must be something neurological. well you think!!?? i could not believe it!! my daughter then was able to bring her to her regular vet which immediately gave her different and definant scenarios as to what could be going on. she is there right now being monitored over night and i have full confidence in that he will be able to tell us something about her condition when we go to pick her up. we will not be in the dark like this expensive emerg. vet place kept us. all they did was suck up our money and gave nothing in return except i can say they kept our dog alive. i really expected to walk away with a lot more than empty pockets. i will look online for other emergency vet stations, if any, to keep from going to this money sucker, dont do nothing crap hole. i really believe they do take you for everything your worth when you go there. it wouldve been worth it had they given us something about her condition, but they did not. will never go there again if i can help it. by the way, if any of those reading this would like to know for their own info as to what her regular vet said could be causing these seizures in what is usually a very healthy dog was 1. an inner ear infection 2. distempher (which she did have a vacc for) but cold possibly still get 3. neurological. good news is that if he finds it is something he can treat he will be giving her seizure preventive meds. now why couldnt this other place have done that?? When they arrived with the dog, Dr. Graham began to belittle me to Dr. Dobson and then proceeded to belittle the person who had brought the dog in, possibly unaware that every word she spoke could be heard in the waiting room.
