One of the kindest, most thorough vets in Houston! Dr. Huddleston and his staff sincerely love animals and will go above and beyond to help them! I recently adopted a cat and she has had her fair share of medical problems. I had gone to four different vets in the Houston area until I found this wonderful vet clinic! Dr. Huddleston and his staff have been there every step of the way to take care of her and help ease my concern as a first time cat owner. Dr. Huddleston has even let me view my cat's teeth cleaning and gave me information to read up on her medical condition so I could better understand it. I couldn't ask for a better vet! We adopted a puppy from a shelter that seemed to be fine, but soon thereafter she had diarrhea and was lethargic. She barely ate or drank, we were very concerned. We took her to 4 separate visits to 2 different local vets in our hometown, San Antonio. We came back home with several different diagnoses and medicines, at one point we had a 9 week old puppy on 6 different medications with no results. Frustrated we went online and looked up her symptoms and determined it most likely was distemper, basically a death sentence for most puppies. We were so upset and saw a website with a vet that made a distemper serum, we figured we had to do anything in our power to cure our little girl. Unfortunately, the serum is somewhat controversial and no one in San Antonio had it. So we looked up who did, and we found Maggie's hero, Dr. Huddleston. The next morning we packed up our two dogs and made the 3 hour trip to Houston. And let me tell you it was worth the trip, he is by far the best veterinarian I have ever come across. He was not dismissive or rushed, he took his time to inspect every little thing. He gave Maggie the serum and took a fecal sample. His awesome technician, whose name escapes me found out what had been plaguing our little puppy: coccidia, a common parasite. After taking her to 2 other places with 4 other fecal exams, I couldn't believe it. She had found something 4 other people had missed. We were so grateful for her expertise. We were sent on our way with new and correct medications. After spending thousands at other places with no result, Dr. Huddleston and his team figured it out in the matter of an hour and a fraction of the cost. He was so generous and kind and gave us his personal number (I think he may have regretted that, as my husband decided to call him every time Maggie looked funny, haha). He would always answer with confidence and legitimate concern. I really cannot say enough about this fantastic man and his staff. I have never had a better experience. Not only are they good with the dogs, they are spot on when it comes to diagnosis and treatment. I've been taking my animals here for years. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate. Dr. Huddleston and his staff have treated a range of issues with my Pekes throughout the years from yearly shots and upset tummies to surgery and always with the utmost professionalism. When it came time to say goodbye to one of my pekes, the staff could not have been more loving, supportive and empathetic. When we moved to Bellaire, I made it a priority to find a good veterinarian for my dog and my aging cat. This place was recommended to me by a neighbor, and I have been more than happy! Dr. Huddleston is so gentle with the animals (and my cranky elderly cat and my scaredy cat dog are very hard to please). Then, last year, my cat became ill with congestive heart failure. It became evident that she was very near death, which, at age 22, was not a huge surprise. What was a surprise was how kindly she was treated by Dr. Huddleston. He gave me his cell phone number, telling me to call him at any time if he was needed and offering to meet me at the clinic. As she became weaker, he gave me several different types of easily digestible foods to offer her. She was able to eat and be comfortable until she took her final breath, surrounded by her loving family. He called DAILY as she neared the end, just to check on her and see if anything was needed. After she died, we received a kind and compassionate sympathy note from him. I have NEVER had a veterinarian who actually loves the animals as much as Dr. Huddleston. I can not imagine a better place in the city for veterinary care! Read Less

this clinic is a member of the American Animal Hosptial Association. The clinic offers great customer service and relations and the employees are very friendly. There has been a posting on the reviews that is very slanderous to the clinic. In the USA we have freedom of speech and sometimes it is abused. This posting from 1-4-2010 is from a disgruntled employee that was fired for misconduct. The clinic is certain that most people can read between the lines and realize malicious acts. Read Less
