History and Purpose: Bell County Veterinary Hospital was founded in February 1981 by Dr. Harold Edwards. Our aim is to provide a concerned staff, facilities, equipment, and technical expertise to prevent illness whenever possible and to diagnose and treat ill or injured pets when the need arises.
You are encouraged to call in advance for appointments whenever possible. Long waits during peak periods and while our staff is in surgery can generally be avoided by arranging appointments in advance.
Services Available: A full range of health care services are provided by our hospital including Surgery, X-RAY, Clinical Laboratory Services, Preventive Medicine, Dentistry, and in-hospital nursing care. "House Call" Appointments can be arranged when time permits.
Boarding and Grooming: We offer climate controlled boarding for your pets. All Canine boarders are taken outside to Walk, Play, and run at least twice a day.
We board all animals. They must be current with Vaccinations (Dogs- Rabies, Dhlppc, Bordetella) (Cats- Rabies, Fvrcp) and free from all Parasites (fleas, ticks, worms, ect.)
If you are dropping off or picking up your pet outside of regular clinic hours, we will add one day of boarding. IF MEDICATION IS ADMINISTERED,THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL FEE PER DAY.
We gladly groom, bathe, and dip dogs and cats upon appointment.
Let us know your special instructions of feeding, medication, behavioral patterns, Ect. Before leaving.
Financial Policy: We respect the right of the pet owner to determine what they are willing and able to spend on their pet's health care. We encourage you to obtain estimates for our services in advance. We pledge to provide the best care we can within the limits you set. Payment for all services is expected before leaving the hospital. CASH, CHECKS, VISA, MASTER-CARD,DISCOVER, AMERICAN EXPRESS, CARE CREDIT are welcome.
If your pet has a major illness or injury which requires Hospitalization, a DEPOSIT will be required in advance.

Dr. Harold Edwards is the owner and Veterinarian of Bell County Veterinary Hospital which was founded in 1981. The practice has grown tremendously since its inception. Both small and large animals are welcome. Dr. Edwards is a graduate from Texas A &M and has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1979. He is committed to providing quality medicine for each patient.

Price gouges his own hometown customers! I have finally learned my lesson after giving his business hundreds of dollars that would have cost me half that at a vet about 5 minutes South of him in the same town. Let me give you just one small example of his price differences...Proheart for a 6 month shot for a 0-25lb dog Edward's rapes you out of $67.50 whereas for the exact same shot at another very popular vet a few miles up the road they charge $21.50. You do the math! Absolutely ridiculous. He also charges double on regular rabies boosters than any other vet around. I do not see how this man sleeps at night, and I feel sorry for the current clients that aren't aware of how bad they are getting taken advantage of. I can only warn future clients to call around and compare prices and do your research before picking care for your animals. Not to mention the office is not very inviting, nor is the front receptionist. Jennifer can be very rude when asked or questioned about pricing. Maybe he assumes since he doesn't get a ton of business he has to triple his prices to make up for the lack there of. Sad he played clueless when confronted about his prices and told us he assumed he was comparable with other veterinarians in the area. News break...YOU'RE NOT!

After visiting another veterinary clinic, our dog did not appear to be feeling any better (bloody diarrhea). This vet appeared to take his time in examining our dog's fecal matter, and thoroughly explained the analysis of it. He prescribed antibiotics, and informed us of the different options we had for vaccinations, medications, heart worm medication and was tallying up the bill for us as he explained. With every new cost, he would tell us that it was not necessary and that we could hold off on it when we were ready. He addressed our dog's current issue and did not try to push other services. I appreciated Dr. Edwards approach and honesty, and would definitely visit again.

I brought my 2 cats to the clinic to have both front paws declawed. Biggest mistake I have ever made. I have never used this vet before and I would never use him again. His sense of humor is horrible,...
I brought my 2 cats to the clinic to have both front paws declawed. Biggest mistake I have ever made. I have never used this vet before and I would never use him again. His sense of humor is horrible, my cats were bloody and had urine all over them when I picked them up, stitches are still in and they still can't walk after 2 weeks, they just crawl on their belly, their pas look like they were mutilated and no longer look like cat paws. All they want to do is hide in a closet and they are scared of everything. I have since heard other horrible stories about this vet doing things he should not do and seeing animals he is not licensed to treat. It makes me sick to trust someone with my animals and they do this to them. Oh but thanks for putting their pain meds in with their antibiotics, I would of rather put a pill down my cats throat then fight to put a cold liquid in there. Thanks God my vet is back from vacation and I can take my cats back to him. The worst experience ever, people beware if you bring your animals to this vet!!!
