I have been going to Belton Vet Clinic for 10+ years. They are awesome, their billing is fair and they truly care for your pets. I found them after my Yorkie had been stung by fire ants and had been in the emergency vet in Round Rock. Because we needed to have him checked by our vet, I needed to find one. Waited over an hour to be seen but I went on a Saturday and it’s walk-in only so there isn’t a lot I can complain about. The staff were all hustling and seemed very coordinated. Even with the noise & chaos of multiple stressed animals and a never ending stream of people walking in, the staff were all friendly and pleasant. My bottom went numb while sitting and waiting on the wooden bench but I thought they took good care of my Tater-baby. Again, placed on hold. Spent 28 mins trying to make appointment for a ranch call to no avail. Always chaotic. Last call vet came out on emergency and she did nothing but advise to bring into clinic for further evaluation. Don't waste your money or time on emergency large animal calls. Terrific experience! The front desk team is friendly and helpful. The assistants are personable and thorough in their initial assessments. The vets have always been awesome. However as of late the front desk is pretty awful. There are only 2 of the many ladies that are nice. The others are extremely rude and condescending. Mary, by far, gave me the worst experience I've ever had with the clinic. She was unfriendly and acted like I was wasting her time, even had the audacity to give me a hard time because it was hard to read the exp date on my credit card. The wait time is enough to drive you away, but awful customer service of the like given by Mary is enough to keep you away for good.Good veterinary service, if you can get past the rude front desk. Very friendly doctors, I have quite a few animals, dogs, cat, goats, mule. So I have been then a few times. The receptionist social skills are a little off. There are usually 3 at the desk so I don't think they are overwhelmed, but I could be wrong. They don't make appointments, so your visit can be quick, or long. They do make appointments for the farrier, we hooked up the trailer, loaded our mule, drove up there. When we got there they said that the farrier didn't have enough appointments scheduled, so he wasn't going to show up. Great doctorsRead Less

This is my first time taking my newest addition Lucy here. She was set up to get a spay, I checked her in and they took her back within minutes. They were nice and efficient, they made sure they had all the right information. I got a call around 4pm (dropped her off around 9am). Letting me know that Lucy did great in her spay, and she's up and moving around. And that I may come the next day and to pick her up in the morning. She came out looking happy and well rested, very happy and very pleased with not only the pricing of the spay (other places wanted $250+). Very short wait times due to multiple vets and a very competent support staff regardless of whether I took in an itching dog, a feral cat in need of a spay or a horse with an eye injury. I am new to dog owning. Huey, my 9 year old has been through a lot from home to home. In receiving him I was directed to take him to Belton Veterinary Clinic. They were very understanding of his needs and my concerns. They are always kind. I will admit that a few times they've been extremely busy and the wait time is long. However, in waiting I know that they are tending to other animals with much care. He does not have one primary vet, but that is no concern because each Vet that attends to him does it with great professionalism. I never have to worry when he is at boarding. Read Less

We are back at the Belton Vet Clinic with a new little puppy. Even though the waiting area was packed, the staff were all so very courteous. I was extremely pleased with the help of the attendant as well as the vet. My puppy is very small, so she made the effort to use a small needle for the vaccinations, answered my questions (that I had written down earlier). Overall, the actual exam & vaccines were done quickly and efficiently. On top of that, you can't beat the cost. The only downside is always the wait. Amazing vets here that truly care about their patients. Yesterday I tried calling every vet close to me because my pig was very very sick and they all told me I had to make an appointment which was hours or days from the time I called. I drove the extra 30 minutes to get my baby seen there and he was helped in a timely manner. Thank you for being here when every other vet isn't and thank you for being passionate about your jobs. Excellent place to take your fur baby. The doctor was extremely thorough and we felt our dog was getting great care. The staff was helpful and all questions were answered. We even received calls at home checking on our baby. I would definitely recommend this vet. My only complaint was the waiting time, but since this is a walk-in clinic, that should be expected. HORRIBLE!!!! I won't even get into the ridiculous wait times to see a doctor, or the fact you almost never see the same doctor. I brought my newest rescue pup, a great dane, in for an ear infection (among other things) in May. It is now October, and she still has the ear infection, she is in pain and uncomfortable, rubs her ear on everything, paws at it, shakes her head constantly, and has even hit her ear on something and bruised the tip. In August/September they FINALLY ran a culture and found out it was Pseudomonas. Instead of making a medication that could kill the infection. I was told, yet again, "Lets try this" SURPRISE it didn't work. Keep in mind every time we took her in we paid for an ear cleaning and, most times, paid for an office visit Which I would be happy to show proof of. I called this morning, 18 October 2016 and "Dr." Kody (front desk staff), who diagnosed her with chronic ear infections over the phone, told me I would have to pay another office visit. I asked for a manager. Kristin(mgr) was so rude, I can see why the front desk staff are allowed to act the way they do. After getting nowhere with her, I asked her to talk to the doc. She called back and said they would not see my dog. Big surprise, since I will not be giving them anymore money (other than meds). So now, at 39 weeks pregnant, and contracting I have to take my girl to another vet, start over then disinfect my entire house because my doc is concerned about a newborn coming to a home with such a nasty infection. To make matters worse I have been there and overheard a convo from a man ELECTED to have dog A's ears cropped then brought in dog B for some other issue, said he shouldn't have to pay for dog B because he's "spent so much money here" No questions asked, no manager, they just waived the visit for dog B. The staff, owners and vets simply do not care about the well being of your family (human or animal). If they did this would have been fixed months ago. They are rude, disrespectful, and unethical, at the very least! Read Less

I love this clinic. I've been using them for over 7 years. I have 2 cats and a dog and all my babies have been treated kindly. The prices are affordable and the staff is usually on point. We have been going to this clinic for over 2 years because I work from home and this is only a couple miles away. Why they get a 1 star review:1) They are a walk-in clinic. Prepare for a long wait, and choose to go somewhere else for any urgent issues. I always block out a half day off work for vet visits. Last time we came in, we waited 90 minutes for a 5 minute conversation about travel meds. 2) The vets can be condescending. We see a different vet almost every time. We take responsibility for not always understanding what our pets need, but we don't need to be made guilty every time we try to learn. Also - we had one conversation where a vet (in making small talk) asked us what we did for a living and then made a face when she found out we were military/work at home.  Whatever you do - DO NOT BOARD YOUR PETS HERE.3) We didn't have any issues until our very last visit, when we realized that our cats were in distress the whole time we were gone and no one thought to call the two numbers we left for emergencies. I don't know if this has happened before because apparently they don't call.4) We came back to pick up our cats, who are a bonded pair and are very well socialized, and found them to be completely different animals. They were wild, violent, and very unhappy. The vet techs weren't able to get in to even clean the litter boxes. 5) After explicitly requesting that our bonded cats be boarded together, we came back to find them separated - apparently for at least 3 days. The vet techs said they were fighting - but we suspect they saw them play-fighting and decided to separate them without contacting us.6) The vet techs are young, inexperienced, and unwilling to take responsibility. The tech we worked with this last time stood in a corner making excuses for our cats' behavior ("I wasn't here so I don't know what happened", "sometimes cats are just like that"). 7) This time, and several times before, our cats have come home with respiratory illnesses. It's a great way to make money! We end up having to come back for an appointment to treat the illness they got at your clinic!8) Puppies and unvaccinated dogs are boarded with cats to avoid infecting the general dog population in the kennels. This could have accounted for our cats' distress - at no time were we called, so we couldn't authorize sedatives or any other action to alleviate the stress. 9) We were given a small discount on our final bill (honestly, I wanted to fight to get the whole bill thrown out because of the poor service) - the service was still massively overpriced. This clinic has changed a lot in the past few years and it is incredibly disappointing..My family and I always brought our pets here because we always had great experiences and it was affordable. BVC got a couple of our dogs through some bad times and we always appreciated them and tried to stay loyal because of it. My dog was recently diagnosed and put on several meds and we were trying out different things to best fit her symptoms. I had great experiences each time with the vet and front desk staff. Now, I have called and emailed to try to get changed back to her previous medication when symptoms were getting worse with the new meds and never got any type of response back. Now I called a couple days ago asking for a refill on my dog's heart meds and  mentioned we have 3 days of meds left and asked if it was possible to get a refill sent to an Austin clinic(the vet said it may be possible if I call a few days before). No word back and tomorrow is the last day of her rx. My family has been calling multiple times today to find out if an rx could be ready at the clinic for them to pick up for me until I can get there tomorrow night and still no one has called me back! I understand they must be busy but it's kind of unbelievable that we are having so much trouble getting an rx refilled. Read Less

I have a rescue and had multiple dogs (and one cat) treated there. very few of the vets are friendly and knowledgeable, especially at the same time and the same vet. I had some "off" experiences, such as waiting 36 hours to get a call back from a vet while my parvo puppy was in there for 7 days. front desk service is slow. Communication in general is really bad. E-mails are a hit or miss if you are waiting for an answer. They may, or may not. they wont tell you in advance what the exact cost is, you got to pry it out of them.......but ok, the prices were generally low, waiting was short...I hung in there... But 3 months ago I brought in a dog that was attacked by a larger dog. She got about 30 stitches.I was to come back 4 days later to have the drain tubes removed. Appears one of the vet techs didn't know what they were doing and was not supervised and instead of just the drain tubes, began to remove the stitches! they brought the dog back saying nothing...side comment about "ahh we put some "staples" in there so it holds better....bull!!!!! Her stitches were healing GREAT until that day. over the next 2 days, half of her body opened up (only the stapled side of course) and started to stink badly within just 12 hos. bacterial infection in the wound! I kept he clean....but of course couldn't get "under" the staples. I took her back in, the old vet there said "Well, what rots needs to rot and fall off, there is nothing much else we can do now. She has a HUGE open, smelly wound. I was given my $16 spray to put on it and send out the door. As I turned to leave the Vet that did the stitches called me back. She had me show the wound to a vet tech and said "See that!" in a pissed off voices. then she looked at me and sai "OK you can go now" HUH??? It was later I put 1 and 1 together. I took the dog to another vet, but it was too late, the infection was in her body......I e-mailed them wanting an explanation...got no response from anyone, but they ARE sending me a bill every 2 weeks for the $16 spray that THEY CAUSED me to need and didn't save her life! A friend of mine called for an emergency at 10.15 PM as they claim 24 hour staff and emergency care. She was told the vet is out on call and nobody is at the hospital and she can come in once the vet is done, but if that happens to be after 12, and it likely would be, she will have to pay the night fee!!!! they do NOT HAVE staff and a vet "on duty" 24/7 as their website claims. the dogs and cats are alone there at night. I've been bringing my pets here for about 4 years. I never had any issues until May. I overlooked that incident and continued to take my pets there. I took one of my dogs in yesterday, and the female veterinarian that I saw (the vets are really hit and miss at this place) was extremely condescending, wasn't helpful at all and was seriously just really rude. That was it for me. I have given that place so much of my money, and I obviously take care of my pets. I referred a friend to this vet (I've referred a lot of military families) prior to any of my negative visits, and she let me know the male vet that she saw was very off-putting which caused her to find a new vet. The doctors, technicians and desk staff are super friendly. As soon as you walk in the door all the desk workers greet you immediately. I always feel great about the care my roper receives there. Every time I come to have my fur baby Roper checked out, I always have all my questions and concerns explained to me in a professional manner. I never leave with questions unanswered. They strive to make you and your pets experience at the clinic a great one. Our poor pup ended up with a pretty nasty wound in the middle of the night. Called them up and took her in immediately, over 40 stiches later she's good to go. Next day we come to check on her, she was eating and drinking and the doc let us know we should be able to take her home later in the day or the next day. Few hours later they gave us a call to come get out girl. She was very happy to be going home and gave the vet a big ol lick. What was really suprising was the cost, I was expecting a horindious overnight vet visit especially for stiches, pain meds and antibiotics. Well, its not the same as it used to be. The doctors are great, always have been. But there was a lot of chaos happening when I went for my visit recently. The technician that was helping wasn't very personable or friendly, and I have noticed from the past, we ( the owners) have quite a bit of interaction with the technicians during a visit. So, when we are in there and kind of upset about the situation, be a little sympathetic to the owners, realize what we are going through and how much money we are spending. When I can hear the technicians talking outside the door about how we must not care about our dog and what not, I assure you, I wouldn't have drove 45 minutes and be there racking up a lovely bill if I didn't care enough. The last 2 visits were not that pleasant. I hope they make some changes or get these girls together and discuss these things. When I was there back in December, we had 2 wonderful technicians, and back in January  I saw one of them again with another wonderful visit , these ladies seemed very sincere about our situation and seemed to go above and beyond to help us and make us feel welcome and at ease. My dog was bleeding from another dog attack and couldn't walk, and these girls came out in the cold weather and drizzly rain to help me get my dog out of my SUV and loaded him on to a little cart, seatbelted him in and put a towel over him and they talked to him as they wheeled him in, keeping him calm and steady and that also put me at ease because I could tell they really care about the pets. I wish this last visit I would have seen these girls again, because it would have made our experience better and calming, because I know that those girls love their job and all of our furbabies!  So, kudos to Lacy with the red hair, and to Tracy with the blonde/brown hair. Thank you ladies for being caring individuals who love what you do. My experience with this veterinary clinic is the worst I ever experienced in any vet clinic. First Dr. Hayes bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. He is short , has no compassion, and non sympathetic, and he is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. He has no care for the pets. My cat experienced sudden weight loss, and stopped eating. The day she stopped eating my husband took her in. They told him she was severely dehydrated but did not say she was on her death bed. They spoke about keeping her a couple of days but not that she would not be coming home at all. When I went to visit her the next day her IV was not dripping at ALL, no one was really keeping the close eye on her that was needed. The next morning she was dead. I personally think he had no idea what she died of and he uses the common death that most cats have, renal failure. In any case we found out NO ONE stays with the animals during the night. She was considered in his words ICU, and no one was there to watch over her during the night making sure the IV was dripping? When we came to pick her up, the doctor was notified that we were waiting there for him, and he still made us wait 45 min. During our conversation with him, he insulted us saying that we were the guilty ones of not taking care of our cat (implied) and that it was our fault she was in such a state, and that we brought him an almost dead cat. How dare him. The audacity. Our pets are our family. They are all indoor pets. In any case when it came time to get her, she was already picked up by the crematorium which we did not give them permission to do. We wanted to say goodbye to her, so we had to wait a total of 3 hours to find her and get her back. The only good thing about this place is LUCY. She was awesome and sweet and considerate. I can honestly say, I will spread the word of no one bringing their pets here. If they were the last vet on this planet I would not take my pets here. They are all about the money. Read Less

This place is 50/50 for me. I've been a client for years and I've seen lots of change. On the positive side, they are more affordable than most and there are some good vets who work there. Dr. Saylor is my favorite. On the questionable side, they have gotten way too big for their own good and have lost touch with good customer service, in favor of numbers. The vets and staff seem frazzled, and I felt lost in the chaos. In this environment, issues get overlooked and animals do not get the care they need.They have tons of clients, 10 vets on staff and lots of techs, but they have never expanded their facility to accommodate the growth. On any given day there are at least 5-10+ people waiting with their animals in a small waiting room, and it's an absolute zoo. I've witnessed dog fights and very uncomfortable people because of the small quarters. This place has the potential to be great, but their priorities seem to be headed in the wrong direction. I wish I could recommend Belton Vet Clinic, but I've never been a gambler and getting good care 50% of the time is not worth the risk. Read Less

Today we had a horse emergency and called ahead on the emergency line. We showed up and they said they didn't know we were coming, a lie... Then they opened the gate and went back inside the clinic. We waited outside for an hour to no avail. I called the emergency line yet again and the answering service said they weren't answering. After I told the lady we had been waiting outside with an emergency for nearly an hour she tried calling them again and got a hold of he lady finally who said that she was busy and couldn't get to us, an emergency. This is the worst vet clinic ever, and we nor any of our friends will ever visit this horrible place ever again. Great job on losing business! Way to go! Read Less

She was considered in his words ICU, and no one was there to watch over her during the night making sure the IV was dripping? When we came to pick her up, the doctor was notified that we were waiting there for him, and he still made us wait 45 min. During our conversation with him, he insulted us saying that we were the guilty ones of not taking care of our cat (implied) and that it was our fault she was in such a state, and that we brought him an almost dead cat. How dare him. The audacity. Our pets are our family. They are all indoor pets. In any case when it came time to get her, she was already picked up by the crematorium which we did not give them permission to do. We wanted to say goodbye to her, so we had to wait a total of 3 hours to find her and get her back. The only good thing about this place is LUCY. She was awesome and sweet and considerate. I can honestly say, I will spread the word of no one bringing their pets here. If they were the last vet on this planet I would not take my pets here. They are all about the money. Read Less

Not impressed. First time I walked in I was yelled at by some crotchety old lady. I didn't take my puppy there long enough to meet the vet or anything and I'm sure they are great but once my puppy had been there 3 times and proper puppy care wasn't followed she got sick thanks to their weird vaccine schedule and lack of attention. I had 2 other vets tell me the same thing, which was way different than what Belton vet clinic told me. Therefore I won't be taking the long Ass haul up there. If I could I'd ask for a refund for all the stress they put me and my puppy through. Read Less

I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a vet clinic refrain from going here. I have personally seen Dr frosch, one of the owners treat her employees like they are absolutely nothing. Along with a supervisor by the name of "Kristen." I would seriously reconsider coming here or working at this facility.. They do not care about the employees which makes me believe they could care less about the animals as well. They should be turned into the better business bureau, which I will be doing, as I have very close business partners involved with the bbb. This clinic gave a puppy that weighed less that 5 pounds a whopping 7 vaccinations at one appointment. SEVEN! They gave a typical 5-way, when the AVMA says the standard 4-way is all that s needed, they gave the nasal kennel cough vaccination, and they gave the cainine flu vaccination, all in one visit. Then, they added two, duplicate pesticides to the mix - Ivermectin and Selemectin - for ear mites. If they were going to use the Selemectin, which is Revolution, why did they also double up and put Ivermectin in the puppy s ears? Revolution gets rid of ear mites, anyway! (Was this clinic considering the massive expenses to the owner, I wonder? They sure weren't considering the puppy!) So, this little baby got SEVEN vaccinations and two strong pesticide treatments on the same visit. Is it any wonder that, 9 days later, the puppy was back in the office just as sick as she could be? I suggest that you carefully go over any all treatments this clinic wants to give your pet before you give them the go-ahead, lest they take unnecessary chances and use overly aggressive practices with your pet, too! They took an awful chance at harming this little puppy, and, sure enough, they assaulted her immune system so drastically that she became ill. :( Thank God it wasn't worse than it was! Read Less

I absolutely love this clinic. I have 3 dogs and a horse, and I love all the attention and expertise of these vets. They treat you with professionalism, and have a great amount of expertise in their careers. Even the young vets are knowledgeable and are great at explaining their reasoning and what may be wrong with the animal. The staff is friendly and I love how they offer internships for the high schools. I highly recommend this vet for everyone. Read Less

Love this place! Originally sent here as a referral for x-rays from another vet. Dr. White was amazing with my fussy dog, and the issue (pancreatitis) was handled quickly. I really appreciated that Dr. White fully explained the situation without treating my like an imbecile end even let me take a look at the scans to better understand the issue. In the end, all was well with my pooch :) Just recently took all three of my dogs in for dental cleaning, and it pretty much sealed the deal for me. The techs were really helpful in wrangling the energetic trio into the back, and my mutts came back with gorgeous teeth, trimmed nails, cleaned ears, and I think even a bath (they smell a lot cleaner than when they went in!). The best part, well other than finding a vet I could trust? The dental cleaning cost the same amount - for all three dogs - as other vets have quoted me for just one. I have to dogs, Lulu (chihuahua) and Buttons (toy poodle), and a rabbit Peter (mini rex). I love my animals to death and I don't know what I would do if anything were to happen to them. We (my mom and I) took Lulu to get spayed and the cost was incredibly low. Around 200 for laser surgery and this included medicine and everything else. Well Lulu had complications and needed an emergency surgery. The vets were incredible. The kept her to make sure she was ok. Was very gentle with her and saved her life, because she would have died if we would have waiting to get her spayed. For 2 surgeries and medicine the bill barely topped 220. When we got Buttons we took her there too and only got the best service. When Peter got sick, I rushed him t o belton (literally speeding down the highway) and the doctors rushed him back and calmed me down when i started crying. Got out of bed at 1:00am on Sun. when my 8 yr. old littl dog was bleeding out of her uterus very bad. He came to the office and did surgery that very am. He kept her for 2 days and not one time did he ask for money up front while all along I had the money and probably ten times over and above the amt to pay for whatever i would have cost, but he never once asked. He knew I was devistated. He quoted me less than half the price that the vet in Killeen quoted me. I am so very grateful to him. My dog is my life. She is still there, but will be okay. Read Less
