I've had a hard time finding a vet in Austin who is competent, caring, and reasonably priced (seems like all the good vets are very expensive). With older dogs, it has become a really big issue. Hwy 29 is more reasonably priced than many vets in Austin, but cost is only one small part of the equation. Dr. Crouch is very knowledgeable and compassionate. My 14 year old lab was having arthritis and digestive issues, she offered advice and medications without doing tons of unnecessary and expensive tests. She really understood his sensitivities, most vets recommend Rimadyl for arthritis, but my dog had a terrible reaction to it, so she suggested alternatives with much less incidence of side effects. I really appreciated her taking time to discuss our options and what would be best for my dog specifically. Vet tech Kelly is also very knowledgeable and helpful. I had never given my dog injections before, but after her lesson I felt confident and never had any issues. When my dog began having very serious issues we took him in knowing it might be "time", Dr. Crouch and Kelly were so compassionate in telling us, "we could run tests, but with these symptoms....you might need to think about..." We so appreciated their honesty, and compassion. Dr. Crouch even came back in after and told me "I know this is so hard...I have never euthanized an animal that I didn't think it was 100% the best thing for them". That has comforted me more than I would have guessed. The entire staff at Hwy 29 is very sweet and caring. These guys are definitely worth the drive from Austin! Read Less
