They used to be a fine, if somewhat expensive clinic when Dr. Q owned the place. In the last year or so some younger folks bought the place, and wow have prices gone UP AND service is DOWN. Recently my dog had an ear infection. I was in Ohio where the local clinic charged me $60 for the checkup plus the medicine was included. She got better but developed diarrhea. I went to Canyon Clinic and (my daughter being a doctor and awesome diagnostician) asked them to test for c-diff as she'd just got off antibiotics and that can happen. They didn't think that was necessary and tested for all sorts of OTHER stuff. It was several hundred dollars and the dog got no better. Second visit cost even more, and I asked again to test for c-diff. They argued but I insisted. They acted out out with me. By now I am nearing a thousand dollars and guess what the problem was? Yup, it was c-diff. I will never go back -- WAY too expensive and they're not that good frankly. Love how this company takes care of my dog. The staff are so friendly and the vets are so careful of my dog's health. Every visit is logged on the computer so they know exactly what has been done and when a prescription expires. I even take my dog there for her baths. My dog was always hesitant to enter any vet and would tug backwards on her leash. At this place she just walks right in. She seems content with the way they treat her. One vet even got down on the floor when my dog was freaked out by getting on the exam table. I don't think she liked the slick surface and could get no traction. No problem. The vet just hunkered down and did her annual exam of my dog on the floor. Now that is what I call service! One time the staff even called to my attention that I wasn't giving her the proper dosage of medicine. I highly recommend this place. Read Less

We switched to Canyon Animal Clinic following a poor experience at another nearby clinic and have been more than satisfied. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable and have accommodated our schedule more than once by staying late. Our labs see Dr. Leakey and he will always be our vet of choice !!. Dr. Leakey is excellent, courteous, takes the time to answer all of our questions, ensures the best care is provided to our labs, and has always been available when we need him. The prices are quite reasonable and having two locations offers convenience as well. Read Less

I have used this clinic since 1998 through all the owners. Their boarding prices are too high for the service and they are unresponsive to requests to lower them for Canyon Lake population. Boarding is $15-$16.50/night - a seven night stay runs as high as $115.50. Plus they tack on other charges to board that runs the bill up real high. I don't know what I am going to do. Read Less

Its been hard finding a vet around here who truly cares about cats! Most I've used treat my kitties OK, but I can tell they would rather be seeing a dog. Dr. Julie at Canyon Animal Clinic is definitely a cat person! Her knowledge about cats is amazing! I am so happy to have found a ""cat specialist"" here in Canyon Lake, I hope she never leaves!! I have been coming to see Dr. Quinn for years, so I was a little worried when I heard that my beloved clinic had new owners. I've had a chance to meet one of the new owners - Dr. Leakey (they call him ""Dr. Keith"") - two times now and I'm sold!! These guys truly seem compassionate and really care about my pets ( my Yorkie- Murphy and my 3 kitties). The staff is always super friendly - especially Kay and Betty! I drive a past a few other clinics on way to Canyon Animal Clinic, and I recommend others to do the same!!! Read Less

Unfortunately first impressions last forever. I called this vet to see if I could some how get my seriously ill animal examined. The person on the phone said that I could maybe get my pet in 2 days. She didn't bother to give my any information on the Animal Urgent Care in New Braunfels or other vets in the area that might help. This was my first (and last) experience with this place. Read Less
