I've been taking my dog here for several years now and they are always wonderful with him. When he was having issues after a fall they treated him as if he were their own pup. I had been warned.by my vet in Seguin that Canyon City would be very expensive. Instead I have found the care to be reasonable and conservative. Even though the doctors look a look sooo young, they are compassionate and caring! Dr. Leaky is great and I didn't catch the name of the young female doctor that just cared for our cat, Annie, she was thorough and professional. Wish they hadn't moved so far away, but we'll go back. Good follow through. Seemed a bit crazy there when I called in to check on Annie, but overall my kitty is healthy again. Good job. Front desk great. Lacy is on top of things when you call. Read Less

I have been going to Canyon City Animal Hospital for almost 5 years. I have found everyone there to be knowledgeable, compassionate and attentive. Dr. Leakey is the BEST! He always has the best interest of our dog at heart. He even gets down on the floor with her, making friends with her and evaluating her. They partner with the New Braunfels Humane Society and offer a free initial exam and vaccinations if you rescue an animal from them. I took my adopted puppy there and couldn't be happier. Fast appointment availability, the office is clean and modern, the staff is very friendly and the vet took the time to answer my questions without making me feel rushed. Been going here for years. It's not cheap. The veterinary veterinarians are great, but the staff are getting more and more rude. I've walked in twice with no one else in the lobby, and they seem bothered that someone interrupted their computer updating. The staff certainly don't seem happy. We just recently moved to the area and CCAH was close to us. Our appointment was with Dr. Leakey. We had a wonderful experience. We didn't feel rushed, he was knowledgeable and down to earth. I thought the prices were fair but my only suggestion would be is to maybe give clients a discount on the office visit if they are bringing multiple pets. Just something our past vets done for their clients and an incentive for clients to bring their pets in. But this is not a deal breaker for us. I have to add the staff were very friendly and helpful. Best clinic I've ever been to that I felt I could wholly entrust my pets with. The staff and Doctors make you feel like a part of their family. Relocated to this area from California 9 months ago n brought my pets in for checkups. I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Leakey n his staff. My dog had diabetes n required special monitoring. I recently had to put down him down after after 14 yrs. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Leakey n his staff for kindness n compassion bestowed on us n helping us during our ordeal. We highly recommend this place for all their services. I have an older dog so it is important for us that she get the right attention for her age. Right from the first visit, I felt they really cared about her and not just making money off another patient. We had never boarded our dog or left her for for the day at playtime anywhere. We took our 2-year old pup in here a week ago Saturday. He had been bitten by a rattlesnake. The staff was terrific. After loading him up with antivenin and IV fluids, they got us into the Emergency Pet Clinic in New Braunfels, which I had not heard previously. One more vial of antivenin and all is well now. During a short visit to Texas (we're from Ohio), our 11 year old Yorkie coughed in a deep manner I had never heard before and it was worrisome - especially given the fact that our daughter's dog (whom our Baxter had been with the week before) had just passed away with pneumonia. We called the next morning and were granted an appointment for that day! Dr. Leakey looked him over, listened to him and poked and prodded, then assured us he was fine (which he turned out to be). We appreciated being quickly seen, and particularly liked the reasonable approach to the conservative concern we expressed. While we are fortunate have a remarkable vet where we live, if we ever ended up in Canyon Lake, we would know exactly where to take our pets for their healthcare. Read Less

Owned labs for 30 years and never met a vet that went above and beyond like Dr. Lakey. Just had a litter of lab pups and momma ended up getting mastitis on her right side and he gave me his cell number to talk back and forth over the weekend so he had updates and made sure everything was going ok. I could never be more greatful to have a vet that would encourage personal contact out of business hours for the health of an animal and to be able to communicate concerns after hours. He did this knowing it was his days off, in order to make sure of the health of our girl. I will never go anywhere else.Read Less

I can not say enough about Canyon City Animal, I have had dogs for over 50 years and have used other vets, the vets and staff at Canyon City animal are wonderful, I have had nothing but wonderful care for my two little babies and they take care of all their needs, Priscella was so sick and Dr. Leakey met me up at the clinic on Sunday and had to inset an IV because she was dehydrated. Another time my Spike had back issues and received lazar therapy which really helped him, I have been going there for several years. I use both clinics and they have access to their records. They are wonderful about sending out reminders when one of my babies have something due, from check ups to worm checks. The care they give is way above what I had experienced any where else. I also use their grooming services and am always happy with the results! I could go on and on about he excellent care that we have received.
