Dr John is so welcoming and warm.. we almost enjoy his calm and handsome demeanor !! our dog Ginger has had multiple visits to him and she is always greeted wonderfully by the two ladies at the reception .. their staff seems to love her though!! always getting kisses and cuddles all the way in .. Thank you guys !! they may be bit overpriced but that comes with professional advice .. also they are closed on sundays and limited hours on saturday .. take an appointment beforehand as there may be a lot of waiting

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. We will NEVER bring our dog back. We moved to the area & needed a new vet. We called & got our records transferred and we were told by our previous vet of 2 years that ...
Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. We will NEVER bring our dog back. We moved to the area & needed a new vet. We called & got our records transferred and we were told by our previous vet of 2 years that our rabies vaccine was due. We showed up for our rabies vaccine & came home with a $216.97 bill. They did TONS of extra tests that were NOT needed, including an intestinal parasites screen that was done about 2-3 weeks ago. Yeah, they were super bubbly & nice but now I see why! We came in for an $11 shot— THAT’S IT! When I called to discuss this with them they were VERY unprofessional saying they told my husband about each of these things etc etc etc. Eventually even saying “Well, I don’t know what HE is telling YOU but.....” I then asked them to close my account & I will not be returning! Absolutely HORRID place! Do not go here unless you want to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars each visit without even being told! Wow!

I actually do take my dogs here for care but I would never leave my dog here overnight in the kennel where I couldn't monitor them. I live next door and I witnessed one of the ladies in the morning who takes the dogs out each morning to pee, she was spanking a little Boston terrier because the Boston terrier saw my dogs and was lightly barking. She was pulling the leash really hard against the dogs neck to get it to change direction. Every morning she has her head phones in and pays no attention to the dogs she walks because I walk my dogs every morning and I usually see her. She is very unprofessional. The rest of the staff I see walk the dogs are very professional and show extreme care.

I've been using this vet for years, and are super impressed every time. They take SUCH good care of our animals, the staff is super friendly and the doctors are amazing at what they do.
The decor is a little outdated, but that's not a big deal. They have a nice waiting room with TV's, they decorate for holidays, and they run specials from time to time where they offer a free service with purchase, etc, etc.
I want my animals taken care of, so I go here. Like I said before, the doctors are phenomenal at making us [and the dog] comfortable with treatments/surgeries, and the office staff is friendly and loving toward my dog. I'm not sure how prices compare to others, but I guess the prices here are average.
Anyway, that's about all I can say. If you're looking for a vet in Carrollton, this is the one!

I recently moves to Carrollton and was nervous about finding a great vet, until I met Dr. Calhoun. I like Doctors who take the time to explain and chat about my pets health.He is the best! I instantly felt his warmness, genuineness and expertise with the animal. He made me feel like he was a good ole friend taking care of my cat. The entire office staff is really friendly too. Very professional and even all the front desk girls know so much about animals and pet food ect My friends recommended me and my in laws use to come here as well. This is the best neighborhood vet.

Best vets ever!! Knowledgeable and friendly staff who genuinely care about your pets. They give you different options for treating your pets and they don't try to sell you something that your pet doesn't need. They try hard to keep the costs down for you when your pets are ill. Best of all when your pets are terminally ill they have low cost options for you so you can get a few more quality months together with your beloved pets. They have treated five cats for me for over 20 years and I couldn't ask for better vets.

I brought my three year old papillon in for an exam, after we found him shivering and yelping in pain.I left the so called appointment, angry and very disappointed They took no information, no medical history. They only weighed him and took his temperature. They did not check his eyes, ears, mouth or any of the things that are part of a routine exam. I asked on the phone specifically if they could tell if he had a blockage from an exam and then was told, that they could not. They said unless I paid $250 for x-rays they had no clue. They then tried to charge $25.00 for a small bottle of pain medicine, that upon a call to another vet found out they are only 55 cents each. I left after paying $50.34, for absolutely nothing. I was home so fast, my family didn't even know I had left. I was so mad when I got home, that I called two other vets, who were shocked at my treatment and the price. I had to make another appointment with another vet. I will never be back there again. I just pray nothing happens to my dog until he can be seen by a vet who cares.

I have been doing business with this vet clinic for over 20 years and I cannot say enough good about all of them.The Doctors are all wonderful, knowledgeable, caring people that put the animal's welfare first. And the staff is just as great and have a big heart for all the animals that come to see them.I have golden retrievers that always love going to visit the vet's office -- now that has to tell you something!!They have always supported my work with the rescue groups as well as my therapy dog group activities, so that speaks volumes of their character as well.I am their biggest fan and will always recommend this clinic to all I meet .

It only took that one visit and I knew where my pets needed to be.The office is always clean, no pet odor, including the exam rooms, boarding ares, etc. The doctors are incredible, very thorough, and explain things to you so you understand before you leave the office. They refer to other top notch specialists. The staff, well, I can't say enough good about them. They are just GREAT! You can tell everyone really cares about "your" pet and treat them like they were their own.

Like I said before, the doctors are phenomenal at making us [and the dog] comfortable with treatments/surgeries, and the office staff is friendly and loving toward my dog. I'm not sure how prices compare to others, but I guess the prices here are average.
Anyway, that's about all I can say. If you're looking for a vet in Carrollton, this is the one!

It was the worst day you dread with your pet...the last. I didn't realize until that time how hard it was going to be that day until we faced it. They concluded it was the right choice as well and were a comforting as anyone can possibly be in that situation. It was a sad thing to post. I hope it helps someone else make the best choice for there pet and not themselves.

Doctor Calhoun and Doctor Friend are the best Veterinarian's in Carrollton. I have been taking my kitty PEPPER to them for about a year now since she was digonosed with liver failure. They provided me with medication and showed me how to give her oral injections. I just wanted to say how greatfull I am for helping my pep pep. Thank you vets.

I recently moves to Carrollton and was nervous about finding a great vet, until I met Dr. Calhoun. I like Doctors who take the time to explain and chat about my pets health.He is the best! I instantly felt his warmness, genuineness and expertise with the animal. He made me feel like he was a good ole friend taking care of my cat. The entire office staff is really friendly too. Very professional and even all the front desk girls know so much about animals and pet food ect My friends recommended me and my in laws use to come here as well. This is the best neighborhood vet.

Best vets ever!! Knowledgeable and friendly staff who genuinely care about your pets. They give you different options for treating your pets and they don't try to sell you something that your pet doesn't need. They try hard to keep the costs down for you when your pets are ill. Best of all when your pets are terminally ill they have low cost options for you so you can get a few more quality months together with your beloved pets. They have treated five cats for me for over 20 years and I couldn't ask for better vets.

I brought my three year old papillon in for an exam, after we found him shivering and yelping in pain.I left the so called appointment, angry and very disappointed They took no information, no medical history. They only weighed him and took his temperature. They did not check his eyes, ears, mouth or any of the things that are part of a routine exam. I asked on the phone specifically if they could tell if he had a blockage from an exam and then was told, that they could not. They said unless I paid $250 for x-rays they had no clue. They then tried to charge $25.00 for a small bottle of pain medicine, that upon a call to another vet found out they are only 55 cents each. I left after paying $50.34, for absolutely nothing. I was home so fast, my family didn't even know I had left. I was so mad when I got home, that I called two other vets, who were shocked at my treatment and the price. I had to make another appointment with another vet. I will never be back there again. I just pray nothing happens to my dog until he can be seen by a vet who cares.

I have been doing business with this vet clinic for over 20 years and I cannot say enough good about all of them.The Doctors are all wonderful, knowledgeable, caring people that put the animal's welfare first. And the staff is just as great and have a big heart for all the animals that come to see them.I have golden retrievers that always love going to visit the vet's office -- now that has to tell you something!!They have always supported my work with the rescue groups as well as my therapy dog group activities, so that speaks volumes of their character as well.I am their biggest fan and will always recommend this clinic to all I meet .

I came here 7 years ago for a second opinion. It only took that one visit and I knew where my pets needed to be.The office is always clean, no pet odor, including the exam rooms, boarding ares, etc....

It only took that one visit and I knew where my pets needed to be.The office is always clean, no pet odor, including the exam rooms, boarding ares, etc. The doctors are incredible, very thorough, and explain things to you so you understand before you leave the office. They refer to other top notch specialists. The staff, well, I can't say enough good about them. They are just GREAT! You can tell everyone really cares about "your" pet and treat them like they were their own.

The Doctors and staff are friendly and great at what they do. We wouldn't take our pets anywhere else.
