I hate to do this because Dr. England is an awesome vet and we used him since 2003 until he helped us put down our dog of 13 years and cat of 19 1/2 years. Then in 2008 we got 2 kittens and the one we have left was last seen in 2012. She is strictly indoors and was never sick. She is sick now and quit eating and was throwing up and the secretary was down right rude and uncaring. She said Dr. England doesn't see new patients. I explained it all and she said we weren't loyal and he doesn't see new patients. I said We have sent so many new patients to their clinic because how awesome Dr. England is. She didn't care one bit. I said this isn't Dr. England and can you talk to him and she wouldn't. I told her she may be dying, but nope no sympathy or I'm so sorry, but just rude, mean, and uncaring. So we don't know what to do now. Our 14 year old cat is very sick and loosing weight and thanks to this secretary who doesn't care one bit about pets or people I was turned away. Dr. England I hope you see this because I know this isn't you. Read Less

The vet is condescending & rude. He nit picks what you say instead of listening to your concerns. Odd hours and the few appointments allotted are late in the day but they don't seem to like to give you one even if you ask before that it's walk in only, so you have to get there at least an hour before they open, then wait 2 to 4 hours for your turn when they feel like showing up. 2 out of 3 animals got sarcomas which is a tumor mass after trauma or vaccinations. Which none of the have had before. One ended up needing surgery, they kept saying they didn't take appointments but when I went in they said I could wait. I was surprised when people kept going in before us. When I asked I was told oh they had an appointment! - _- I ended up paying over $500 at another clinic to remove a tumor mass they caused and wouldn't fix without another office copay and wouldn't give me an appointment. On top of that, you have to request for tests over and over, ie. heartworm tests, geriatric blood work & so on. Just heck no. Waste of money & time. Beware! Read Less

Dr. England has a good heart. The prices are reasonable and we have brought our dogs there for 23 years. However, I find that he is very cost adverse in his treatment and sometimes does not do tests to rule out things. This has had poor results with us twice. Our dog Buddy, a dalmatian, had a head injury when he was about two and in later life developed a lesion on his brain and needed to be given phenobarbital which solved his problems for several years. He became unable to eat and Dr. England at first told us that it was a bacterial infection and prescribed antibiotics. The dog went down hill and we ended having to take him to an emergency vet clinic where they did a xray and determined the reason he could not eat was a tumor pressing against his stomach. We had to have the dog put down. Most likely if he had correctly diagnosed the problem it would not have made much difference in the outcome. Our next dog was Ridgely. He began to have symptoms of confusion, and shakiness. Dr. England again prescribed the same medicine which we gave for nine months. Then over last weekend the dog became disorientated had trouble walking and weakness. Cedar Hill Vet was closed so that again I had to go to the emergency vet. They found that the dog had very low blood sugar and was in diabetic shock. We lost him. In both cases Dr. England diagnosed the dog without testing and twice he was wrong. He stresses that a lot of money can be spent on test, but in this second case it would have saved my dog. The couple of hundred dollars to do a blood test would have been money well spent. The symptoms that Ridgely displayed are classic diabetes. Read Less

I would step in front of the car while it's moving toward me before I would come back to this place. This vet treated me like I didn't know what is going on. He said that he has not bathed his dog for 7 years, he just brushes. I guess his dog doesn't smell He does not sell tooth paste. Worst vet experience ever! I sat for hours listening to Chisty, his office person talking ugly to each and every person that walked in the door. I don't understand why people let themselves be spoken to like that. When I finally saw Dr England, he spent the majority of our visit telling me what a ritious, drug free life he has lived. I was baffled. He may be cheap, but he doesn't do anything but talk. You get what you pay for. To make sick and anxious animals wait hours and hours while he talks about himself is deplorable! Animals deserve so much better than what this vet has to offer. Never again! Read Less

In the course of my employment (the previous 5 years), I've transported many boarding companions to Cedar Hill Veterinary Clinic due to the fact the pet owners indicated that Dr. Timm England was their personal veterinarian. More Importantly to me is my strictly personal experience with Dr. England. I have taken my own dogs to Dr. England for the last 6 years. I currently have 3 canine companions ranging in age from 2 years to 11 years of age. Almost 2 years ago, I took my young german shepherd mix, Piper, to see Timm because she wasn't able to hold even small amounts of liquid down for severa days, in spite of medications to ease nausea. Dr. Timm England diagnosed Piper, within 12 hours, with a rare disorder, megaesophagus. Several other veterinarians consulted by my family prior to that were unable to make suggestions. Because of his diagnosis only, I was able to end Piper's unavoidable and uninterruptible suffering. The best. The most compassionate. The waiting time and the extremely low fees aside, Dr. England has more than earned my respect and loyalty. Read Less

I was very disappointed. Dr. England was highly recommended by many people that I have met. I looked up reviews online before taking my puppy in to this clinic. She had been sick and I was not pleased with my previous vet clinic- so I decided to bring her here. Besides the long wait- which is to be expected since there are no appointments...I was not pleased. The front desk staff was not rude- but she was not overly friendly. I waited in the office when Dr. England entered my room. He did not introduce himself and he was very rude. He began by telling me my puppy was not the breed I said she was. She is not registered and she is a mix- but I do not care. She has two dominant breeds mixed with some other breeds. He then told me her feces sample was clean- and I told him that I wormed her two days prior. He asked me what I had used- and I told him where I had bought it. I also told him the main ingredient in it. He said- oh yeah that is awesome and I said it is awesome! It worked pretty well. He then continued to tell me that the wormer only wormed against one kind and was the safe thing to use. He was actually being sarcastic when he said it was awesome. He then asked me questions like what type of heartworm medicine she is on. When I told him he told me that that is a ""safe"" kind and I needed to switch her as soon as it ran out. I am okay with that except I felt like I was being talked down to the entire time. He also did not bother to check her gums to make sure she was hydrated enough (as she had lost weight due to being sick.) He decided at last minute to check her stomach to make sure she had not digested anything. While he was doing that he made the comment that she was a scaredy cat dog and that I needed to socialize her more. I told him she had just graduated from eight weeks of puppy class PURPOSEFULLY so that she could be socialized. I do not appreciate cutting comments. To end things- he told me that the pumpkin in a can was only used for dogs who were constipated. I had been told by another vet to use small amounts to help with diarrhea. I felt angry by the time I left the office because he talked to me like I did not know anything. He was nice in the fact, he did not want to charge me a lot of money to run tests. He wanted to try her on medicine first before doing something that would cost a lot of money. I doubted that this was the same Dr. England everyone spoke so highly of- but it was. I called to confirm that is who I saw. I was very disappointed because I take pride in my pets and want a vet who cares. I felt disappointed that I have to continue searching for a vet clinic that I like. There is nothing friendly about this experience. Read Less

I love this Vet Clinic. I have had pets seen by both Dr England and Dr Ellis. I am not bothered by the wait. It is not a boring one, for sure. Many people chose to wait in their car and some who have the timing figured out, actually run an errand or two, though if you are not there when your turn comes up, you'll lose your spot and have to wait longer. I find both vets very skilled and both are compassionate and understand that our pets are like family to us and they are never dismissive about our fears and concerns. They are not jaded by years in field or in any way callous. Far from it. They mourn the loss right along with us when a pet's life is at end and they need to be gently ushered out of this world painlessly and with dignity. I have visited this office for years now and will always bring my pets here. I like the staff as well. Price wise, it is wonderful! So many folks who would be unable to afford top care for their pets can afford it here. In that light, a bit of a wait is a very small inconvenience. Read Less

While Dr. England is an adequate veterinarian, since he doesn't take appointments, you can expect a three to four hour wait in order to see him. I can not understand how this clinic can't figure out how to use appointments since the entire rest of the world has it figured out!!! I was told that his office staff didn't like the complaints if people saw the vet after their scheduled time and that's why they decided to do a sign in process. That's hardly a valid reason for the ridiculous sign in process. The office staff is not only incompetent but rude. The office manager, Christie, has an attitude problem. It doesn't matter how polite nor pleasant a client is, she's just plain rude. I've never seen the woman smile. Additionally, due to mismanagement of time, surgeries are scheduled MONTHS in advance. An abscessed tooth and mammary tumors couldn't be surgically treated for two months. That's simply not acceptable. Went and got her, she chewed her stiches out on the ride home from the office. When we got home she was bleeding. Of couse, I called Dr. England in a panic!! He calmed me down, told me how to take care of it. He offered to stay at the office until I could get there if I wanted to bring her back in, but told me that I could take care of if since it was such a long drive back to the office. He stayed ont he phone with me until I got everything under control. But what amazed me was... that evening @ about 10:00 pm Dr England called the house. He said he was sorry for calling so late, but that he had intended to call earlier but had another emergency. He wanted to make sure that LS was alright, and that everything was ok!!! Another one, I adopted a kitten (6 wks) from the pound. 3 days later she got sick. Took her to Dr England. I couldn't take her back to the pound cause they would just put her to sleep. Dr England gave me the medicine, a feeding tube, special milk and her a shot and I got out of the office for less than $20. He KNEW I couldn't affoed much at the time. Unfortunately, the kitten was way too sick to get her better. He was concered about her quality of life over-all and said she would ALWAYS have respiratory problems. I made the decision that I couldn't see her in the paid all the time so as I was sobbing on the phone with my husband, Dr England was holding Snuggles (the kitten) wiping tears from his eyes. Here is a big cowboy guy, in tears over my kitty. I will NEVER go to anyone but Dr England!!!! All animals deserve his attention, love & expertise!! Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

I think it's pretty funny that I posted a review on here, not one week ago and it has been deleted.I will keep posting this review, as long as it takes, for it not to be deleted anymore. This office is the worst. My cat was dying in my arms, eyes buldging out of her head, not able to breath. I went up to the front desk, the women up there were completly rude, did not care about my cat and told me I would have to wait 45 MINUTES!!!!!!! My cat was LITERALLY dying in my arms. I ended up having to take her down the street to another vet, who could see her right away (because she was DYING). I do NOT recommend this vet and I will NOT be going back there. Oh yeah and my cat ended up dying. Read Less

After being treated as if they didn't want my business, I have taken my business elsewhere. Read Less

I WILL NOT take any of my animals to anyone BUT Dr. England!! I have been going to Doc England since 1986. I used to live in Lake Dallas, TX and would drive from there to Doc England's office, just to see HIM. No one else touched my animals! I remember when my kitty (LS) had to have surgery. Read Less
