Falling in love with this place! I brought one of my cats here in the past due to an injury. I picked it because they had $1 pet exam and well it was in my neighborhood. The experience from beginning to end was wonderful. Last week my 12 yr old dog, Ford got an injury and I decided to come back because I remembered really liking the place. I am very happy I did. VERY friendly staff! A laid back, easy going and clean clinic. The vet, Dr. King made me feel at ease and comfortable. With both my cat and dog they focused only on the problem. There was never any pressure to do extra things, tests, etc... they just wanted them HEALED and HAPPY =) I have been searching for my "home" vet clinic for years, would just do vaccines wherever it was cheapest or try different clinics but it just never felt right. We've been bringing our Evie here since we adopted her two years ago and have to go rather regularly because of her bad allergies. Everyone here is really nice and professional and treat our dog like she is their own. They are super gentle and just all around great. Read Less

Went in after my dog was experiencing some back pain and they were amazing. She was seen on time and within hours of medication, she was feeling better, moving around again. Our dog was very ill. The doctor explained everything to us. Unfortunately we had to put our dog down. The process was very peaceful for Lucy. It was a lot of pain for our family, however everyone was very sensitive to what our family was going through. We couldn’t find a better place to bring our lovely Lucy. I only recently discovered Avery Ranch Animal Hospital. I could not be happier with the care they give! My pets were seen by Dr. Ashbaugh and Bevin to provide health certificates for international travel. I've had pets all my life and have never been to a clinic that is as genuinely caring and gentle with their patients as these two were. Usually a visit to the vet is stressful to both my pets and myself. Not at all this time! They both took their time, letting us talk and ask as many questions as we wanted. I never felt that this place is just in this business to make money, but instead because they truly love animals and the work they do. After reading about the mission work they are also involved with, I liked them even more! Read Less

I have a very stubborn cat when it comes to taking him to the vet. Because of this, no vet has been brave enough to get a full exam. I even have had a vet do a home visit and still was not able to calm him and examine him thoroughly. This place could. And they definitely knew how to deal with him. Definitely coming back here. Went in without an appointment on Saturday and they were able to work me in with a dog that was wobbly and falling over. Saved money from going to emergency vet to find out it was vestibular disease most likely and they gave me options. Didn't feel pressured and was very happy with how they treated me despite looking like a hobo in my jammies (I literally woke up to my dog falling over, put on shoes, got the dog and drove) and I will be returning for future care. Love the staff here, have taken my pup top them since he was 6mo old. Being a larger dog of his breed, most places were scared to see him. Not avery ranch. The staff really care about the animals and love my pup, almost as much as he loves them! I've boarded him a few times here and he's always so excited to go!Read Less

If your looking for an overpriced vet's office with snobby judgmental nurses, this is the place to go. The front desk staff is pleasant but the nurses in the back are always cold and rude- its like they never worked customer service. The only reason why this place is even in business is because its convenient with no other competition in the area. But if there is no hurry, do not go here. Read Less

I should have listened to the one horrible review from Dona; they are definitely out for the $. They probably don't even remember the name of my cat. If I walked into a dr office with my mom to hear the complete lack of interest in the patient and horrible push to sell everything on their shelf, I would think that hospital was very unsympathetic and not worth my time. The dr was only interested in telling me what COULD be wrong with any cat at that age. I told my cat I would never take her to such a horrible place again. To top it off, the vets assistant told me "when you can afford it, you should bring her back in for these checkups"... Seriously? Read Less

I have been bringing both of my dogs here for about 5 years despite how expensive they are compared to other local vets. I took my dog, Sadie, in today for her annual shots and told Dr. Skupin that unfortunately we had to find her a new home. (After months of discussing this we decided she needed a new home. This decision did not come easily. We now have a 7 month old daughter and she won't stop licking her in the mouth and her bladder is so small, she peed on one of my daughters toys. We have tried bladder pills before and they don't work.) She is going to my best friend who has watched her several times while we have been out of town so she is very familiar with her and we will see her often. After telling this to Dr. Skupin, his demeanor towards us changed and was rather rude. I could tell he wasn't happy about our decision and we aren't either but it was no reason to be rude. He was short with all of my questions and when I asked a question before he was finished talking, which I thought he was, he very rudely said, are you going to let me finish talking. After the exam him and his assistant left the room without offering to help put my dog back on her leash, knowing I was also holding my child. Something they have always done before. Every time I have been before I loved the staff but I don't appreciate how I was treated today. We will not be recommending them to anyone anymore and will be finding a new vet for our other dog.Read Less

I made the mistake of grooming,my sweet long haired Teddy! I accidentally,cut him and it was deep and bleeding a lot.. I was so upset and crying. Dr Lisa Kuehl, calmed me down, gave me a hug and said Teddy would be fine, but would require a little stitching up. She explained to me how, they would put Teddy asleep for 10-15 minutes, so he wouldn't move or be in pain, stitch him up and give him antibiotics. They first gave him an exam and made sure he was healthy for surgery. While Teddy was under, they even cut his nails!! Teddy came out happy and ready to go! Dr. Skupin and his wonderful team have been taking care of my fifteen and a half year old Daschhund, Roscoe since December 2011. Roscoe is epileptic, does not like his nails clipped and is now blind and deaf but the care Roscoe gets from this office is amazing. The vet techs are so gentle with him. Also this clinic will not push you to buy any products or services as an epileptic dog Roscoe has not been forced to have blood test every 3 months like we were in Michigan. I highly recommend this vetenarian clinic they are brilliant! Read Less

Dr. Agee was wonderful! I just moved back to the area and was eager to find a veterinarian for my two pups. She made sure that I understood all of my options as related to my dog's limp. She explained the benefits of each option and helped me make my final decision. Dr. Agee cares about the well being of her patients and that definitely shows through her practice. I loved the ways she used positive reinforcement during some of the more uncomfortable exams, which made it easier for everyone. She also takes the time to love on your pet, which may seem minor, but makes all the difference for future visits! Definitely recommend Avery Ranch Animal Hospital and Dr. Agee!! Read Less

Let me first say that I have not written a bad review on any person or company ever. But this is necessary. If I can keep another pet owner from experiencing what I experienced, this will all be worth it. I had been a client of Avery Ranch Animal Hospital for almost 5 years. Other than dealing with the high prices and occasional rude receptionist I had not had any major issues until Thursday July, 20th 2015. My 9 year old Australian Shepherd mix who is the love of my life was showing signs of not feeling well. So I made an appointment with Dr. Skupin my vet of almost 5 years. When I got home from work that day I had noticed my dog looking worse. His skin was looking yellow. I called Avery Ranch to see if I could get hi. In sooner than 3:30. They said I could come at 2:30 but it was with Dr. Lisa Agee and not Skupin. I agreed. Big Mistake! Dr. Agee came into the room with the vet tech. I gave her as much info on his symptoms over the past few days as I could. She gave him a BRIEF exam. She looked at his eyes, gums and felt his abdomen and kept saying to me "you know this is not looking good". Let me back up a tad. The day before I had expressed concern on how much this will cost to the vet tech who I'd known for years and completely trusted. They do not accept care credit which I have to help me with my vet bills. I am a freelance artist and my jobs are sparatic. She was kind and asked Dr. Skupin if I could do a payment plan which he agreed. Ok back to Dr. Lisa Agee. After his brief exam she told me he more than likely has liver cancer and he will not survive. She said he's in a lot of pain and requested that I euthanize him because the cost of tests and treatment may not save him. Let me clarify, NO TESTS HAVE BEEN DONE ON THIS DOG. she continued to talk to me about euthanizing him. She asked me "is this something you will do". I'm sitting there in complete tears and disbelief. She kept coming after me about euthanizing him because she claimed her best interest was out for my dog because he was in pain. WHAT?!? What about taking him back and start testing him to see what really is going on. She totally enjoyed bulling me and making me feel powerless. Her main concern was money. She had assumed because I had shown concern about cost that I was not willing to do everything in my power to pay for them to save him. I was so upset and got physically ill when she left the room. I asked to see Dr. Skupin for a second opinion. He immediately took my dog back and started testing. He found that my dog was suffering from pancretitus NOT liver cancer! Pancretitus is still serious, but was not at the stage of being life threatening. If I had listened to Lisa Agee my dog would be dead. Her bedside manner is one for the books. How this woman is a vet baffles me. Your vet should be someone that you trust and shows compassion for your family member. Not corner you and make you feel helpless. As my dog was being treated I had shown concern for how I had been treated by Lisa Agee. I had talked to the vet tech (who I thought I trusted) that was in the room while this woman abused me and sadly she cut me off and didn't side with me. I turned to Dr. Skupin the owner and he did the same. They all shot down and turned their back on me. They all made me feel as if I was the crazy one, I didn't get 1 apology from anyone. That told me they all support her behavior. I severed all ties from this vets office. I hope my story will keep other pet owners from experiencing what I did. It will all be worth it.
