Took my very anxious dog to Heritage for the first time over the weekend. I was very impressed! The clinic was very clean and tidy, all of the staff was as sweet as can be and genuinely seemed knowledgeable. Dr. Trussell is a very kind lady and very professional. First off all of these 5 star reviews youre seeing were left because Dr Trussell was begging people to leave them (including myself) so dont be fooled. Two of my animals have died under her care now. Both should have still had years to live. She did the bare minimum for my 3 year old dog with autoimmune hemolytic anemia and sent him home with meds that killed him by making him throw up while he was already dehydrated. I had to hold my poor pup while he took his last scared painful breaths. I will never trust dr trussell with the care of another animal again and if you love your pets you shouldnt either. Read Less

I have been going to Dr Trussell and the team at Heritage Vet clinic for over 10 years. I take two of my pups there and always have for anything they need or if issues arise. Dr Trussell and her team have always treated me fairly and taken great care of my dogs. I live about an hour away and still make the trip for great care. Unless for some reason I moved very far or out of state I would continue to visit her with future animals. Highly recommended. Read Less

The staff here are really nice but I HATE their hours. Everytime I call to schedule some kind of appointment, it's the most difficult thing ever. I usually end the call with nothing scheduled because each day I suggest is either a half day or a random day when they're closed. And I hate that they aren't open on weekends. I've had my dog for 8 years now and vets have spoiled me with weekend hours. A coworker recommended this vet last year and I was so shocked to learn that they are closed on weekends. I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about this company! First of all, the staff is so warm and friendly, so I always feel very safe when I drop my dog off here either to be groomed or boarded. My dog is usually too scared and jumpy to let anyone groom her or file her nails, so I usually have to take her somewhere where she can be sedated. When I moved to Euless, I found this place because I knew that they could sedate her if necessary. In my mind, I knew that it was almost likely going to be necessary, as that had been the case for years prior. After picking her up from her grooming appointment, I was so surprised to find out that there was no need for sedation. They said that while she was a bit hyper, she was calm enough where they were able to groom her, and that tells me that they made her feel comfortable in their facility. Dogs always have a good sense of knowing if the people they are around like them, and they tend to react accordingly. I have taken my dog here many times since her first appointment years ago, and she is always so excited to be there, that she runs behind the counter and doesn't even look back at me! After sitting in the room with my extremely anxious dog for almost 15 minutes while waiting for the doctor and tech to finish telling jokes in the hallway, despite the fact I had an appointment. Then we were told to bring our dog in for a teeth cleaning and tooth extraction this morning at 7:30. We confirmed the day and time twice. When no one even showed up until 8 we were told that it is tomorrow. Although we confirmed twice. They have been fine with our animals but simply do not respect people's time. Read Less

I have been taking my pets here for 15 years and ALWAYS know that they are being well taken care of.  Most of the staff has been there for 10 or more years and know the names and medical history of my animals by heart. They provide an itemized bill at every visit and go over prices of procedures before treatment ever starts. Their pricing is right in line with what my friends pay elsewhere but I truly appreciate the care and consideration given to me and my pets.I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care for their 4 legged family members. I've been looking for a vet for the past 2+ years that came close to the clinic I used to take my babies. Finally, I found it here! You can tell how much the staff loves the animals. One of my dogs is very skittish, and I was very concerned about needing to leave her there for an acute issue to be looked at while I was at work. I took my two fur babies here yesterday and we had a great experience. On  Tuesdays Dr. W. M. Trussell does two for 1 pet exams. A doctor's visit here costs $52 dollars so its like getting a coupon for $52 dollars. When I called other vets in the area prices ranged from $44 to $60 so this was within the local price range plus a healthy discount. Prices:3 year rabies shot $12FVRP/phfizer fellocell aka Distemper $23Pet Wellness Visit $52.Multiply times two and take off $52 = $122In addition, my cat had a small cyst on his eye which was the main source of concern to prompt a visit. I wasn't even charged for the cyst removal, which was essentially a large blind zit on his eyelid.I found the staff to be genuinely caring and the pricing to be very reasonable. I would concur with the other poor ratings on this business.  There are a lot of questionable practices on the administrative side of this business.  For most of us the amounts of overpay that result, or the effects of those practices, are too small to raise a real alarm or to take legal action on.  We tend to forget until the next incident.However, being long time customers (now former customers), over time we have pieced together a pattern of overcharging, pushing charges, diverting funds (for puppy fund to other dog where new charges were created after the fact) as well as other strange behaviors.  These all seem to be coming from the administrative side of the business, while our experience with the vets and helpers would be "ok".  We haven't figured out why the owners (we think its the vet, not sure) allow this to go on, but they seem to turn a blind eye to it.  In any case, why take a chance?  We are now using a one of the many other vets in the area. We've felt this vet has overcharged us in the past and continued medicating our diabetic dog who was in very bad shape. Had to take another dog in for vomiting recently. Not only did they charge $52 for office visit and $160 for what is likely unnecessary bloodwork they also charged us $41.40 for 5 Cerenia tablets. They are sold in packs of 4 online for $15.99 by at least 3 different sites! We will not be going back. We are looking for another vet immediately. 208% markup on meds??!! Are you kidding!!!??? This place provided the worst service for my dog during her final days. The vet there diagnosed her with a "kidney infection" and "dehydration" and pumped her up with fluids and and only cared to get paid. My dog was not eating nor could she release her wasted and urine for almost 3 weeks. It was sad and I knew i had to do something else so I finally drove to Austin Tx to get a second opinion and found out she had severe kidney failure/damange and was suffering and in pain. I was appalled  and horrified at the devastating news. Unfortunately, we had to put her to sleep the next day because we did not want to see her in pain anymore.    I was appalled at Heritage Vet Hospital's service because they failed to diagnose her properly and give my dog the proper exams and measurements to make sure was healthy. Honestly, the first thing they would ask for is payment. The last day we were at Hertitage I was there for 3 hours bc they were pumping fluids into my dog and the Vet only visited with us for 10minutes or less, no joke!   The vet in Austin Tx knew immediately that my dog had kidney failure by just checking out her kidney protein levels and urine exam followed by a sonogram to examine her kidneys. I received the best service ever and I am in forever debt to Dr. Whitehill in Austin Tx. Dr. Whitehill was the most compassionate, KNOWLEDGABLE, caring, and understanding.  I would recommend looking else where or checking reviews about where you decide to take your pet. I put my dog's life in the hands of Heritage and they failed to care for her properly. Trust me and do not go there for your pets sake!!! They have no knowledge and compassion, I am disgusted that they call themselves "vets". Read Less

My sons and I just recently moved to the area when our 7 year old Golden Retriever tore her ACL. We took her to HVH on a recommendation from another veterinary practice that was unable to fit Gracie into its schedule. Dr. Trussell and her staff were very friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable. All areas of the clinic that we saw (office, large dog exam room, and kennel area) were clean and odor-free. This is a great hospital =)  The staff is awesome and I can tell they really care about my animals.  I drive over twenty miles to bring my cats here because they are so great and flexible!They are open til seven, several days a week, and are reasonably priced.  They often offer monthly deals on stuff like blood work and exams that make their services even more affordable.
