Corpus Christi Animal Clinic is a full-service animal clinic that cares for your dog, cat or small pet with professional, friendly care. Dr. Mike Hughes, the sole veterinarian, owns and operates the clinic with his wife, Nan. Dr. Hughes has been serving animals since graduating from TAMU in 1975.
We offer preventative care treatments, dental work, spaying and neutering, nail trims and more. We also sell pet medication, food and supplies. Taking care of animals is our job, but it's also our passion!
Our services include:
- Diagnostic and Medical care
- Dentistry and Surgery
- Exclusively use of Isoflurane Anesthesia(Higher safety and Quality)
- Radiology
- In house lab and reference lab
- Convenient early morning drop-off service
- Flea and tick control
We offer preventative care treatments, dental work, spaying and neutering, nail trims and more. We also sell pet medication, food and supplies. Taking care of animals is our job, but it's also our passion!

Dr. Hughes sold his practice to Doddridge Animal Clinic. I was told that Doddridge is owned by a large corporation that also owns VCA Oso Creek Animal Hospital and another clinic here in town. Dr. Hughes is still a great vet, truly loves his animal patients, but he is no longer as accessible as he was. The last time I tried to get an appointment, I was urged to use someone else.

I have used Dr. Hughes as my vet since 1991. I have six dogs and he provides exceptional care for them all. Over the years Dr. Hughes, his wife and entire staff have been professional, gone the extra mile, and provided the best value veterinary services you could hope for. When we found a dog in our pool they answered the call, met us at the clinic and treated the poor thing late at night. When one of our beloved pets passed away Mrs. Hughes and a staff member met us at the Clinic at midnight and treated us with sympathy and compassion. You and your pet are treated like family. I highly recommend them for all of your veterinarian needs!

We found this clinic on Yelp. We decided on it because of the reviews. We found a stray in Corpus Christi and couldn't leave it behind (we're from Cincinnati). We took this little girl to this clinic and are very glad we did. They were very friendly and did a very thorough exam. Dr. Hughes gave her needed vaccinations including rabies. The staff gave her a flea bath (she was covered in fleas and ticks). She was very skinny and they supplied us with a few cans of food to start her on. She also tested positive for heartworm and Dr. Hughes gave her a dose of heartworm meds.All in all the experience was excellent. The staff is very caring and Dr. Hughes was wonderful.I would highly recommend this clinic. Thanks guys for all you did!

I have been to numerous vets that are close to our home but have never been happy with any. The last one dropped one of our dogs off the exam table and didn't apologize. I am incredibly happy a friend recommended Dr. Hughes!!! He kneeled on the floor and talked to our dog. You can feel the passion he has for animals. I'm so happy we've finally found a vet who cares so much about our pets. Thank you Dr. Hughes and your staff!

Mr. Hughes is by far the best vet in Corpus Christi. I should had came to him first. After many visits to my regular vet with no success i decided to seek a second opion, and am i ever so happy i did! Mr. Hughes is very sweet and informative. He takes the time to explain the circumstances with you. And he really cares about the animals! I've never been to a better vet! I would recommend him to every and anybody!

Thank you for getting us in as new patients on a Friday. We just moved to Corpus Christi and our dog contracted a terrible ear infection. We were able to get her seen and treated within hours. Everyone was very friendly and the cost of the visit was quite reasonable. Appreciate y'all! We will definitely be back with our other fur babies.

I am so happy with this clinic! When something is wrong with your pet, you want to get them in to the vet immediately- and the staff have always been able to get me same-day appointments. Dr. Hughes is very knowledgeable when it comes to determining the cause of my cat's ailments, as well as the course of treatment. Their cost is very reasonable, too. To top it off, Dr. Hughes' assistants call me to follow up with my cat's progress after his appointments and make recommendations for his care. I can't recommend them enough!

I don't know where to start. We love CC Animal Clinic. We have been taking our dogs to Dr. Mike for over 25 years, starting with our two Golden Retrievers we brought back from Australia with us. He has been there for us (sometimes at all hours when we have had a crisis). Over the years he has laughed with us and cried with us. His love of animals and compassion for all these creatures is great. He helped us find the two "rescues" we now have and love. We think Dr. Mike Hughes and his staff are all wonderful and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent care and advice for their animals. He has treated everything from my pygmy hedgehog to our wonderful dogs with the same care and professional expertise.

All the staff is very friendly and loving to the pets! They've been wonderful to my 2 furkids. Dr. Hughes treats each pet as if they were his own even if they become a bit nippy. I've even called after hours & have gotten a quick response to help out my sick pup. I'm glad my friends referred me there. Been going there for about 5 years now and it's always great!

Over the years Dr. Hughes, his wife and entire staff have been professional, gone the extra mile, and provided the best value veterinary services you could hope for.
