Took our dog in to have a knot looked at. They wouldn't see them until our previous vet faxed over records to make sure they had their vaccines. I had to call them 3 wks later because they never called us about the fluid results they drained. Appt took 2 hrs for simple procedure. After many years of taking my dogs here, I had a situation where a had to put one of my dogs to sleep on a Saturday. I called and spoke with the receptionist who spoke to the doctor and because it was going to be after regular business hours, they said they couldn't help me. We've moved a lot and brought our pets to a number of different veterinarians over the years. Dr. Heaton and the staff of Padre Animal Hospital are the absolute best. Dr. Heaton remembers the history of our pets better than we do. She obviously cares about the animals she treats, as demonstrated by followup calls when one of them is having a rough spell. She and her staff are good people and they treat our pets with care. I can't recommend these good people highly enough. If you have a pet that needs care, this is the place to go in Corpus Christi. Dr. Heaton is a good vet. The staff know what they are doing. They have always given me good recommendations when dealing with my boxer's allergies, weight issues, etc. They are a very busy facility, but that's because they are good. We called and spoke to a male the day before Halloween. He spoke in a very belittling way and said I should call other places for the RX I needed and they "do not act as a pharmacy for other vets, go somewhere else". He did not even give me a chance to say we have taken our dogs there and they were actual patients when we are in Corpus (we come several weeks a year) and have used this vet a couple times within the last few years. I can honestly say I was not impressed before with the care, facilities or service in the past, but kept using them because the location is convenient. This was the last straw and we will definitely "find somewhere else" like the guy on the phone said.Beware. Read Less
