Very pet compassionate. Have not had to wait long when making appointments. My dog had had surgery at another veterinary hospital and was not healing properly. I had been taking him every other day to be checked and bandage changed for a month after surgery. That's when I took him to Santa Fe Animal Hospital. In truth, I don't need much.  I just went for some surveillance labs on a very ill kitty; I get most of my vet guidance on Mr. Sluggo, my tuxedo cat, from Gary Norsworthy, the cat guru in SA.  But for what I needed, they dispatched me quickly and efficiently and at a reasonable price.  To be sure, Dr. Ferris did have some useful words of advice.  And after the nightmare I went through at Doddridge trying to get the same thing, this place was a joy to behold.  Four paws up! Shaefer and Ferris are always wonderful in their care, as well. I completely trust them all. The vet tech and administrative staff show so much care in the condition of my pets, as well. Love the total care Santa Fe gives our animals! Dr. G is our VET and the other Vets are wonderful and always willing to fill in when Dr G is not available. We had several good experiences here, then ran afoul of the office manager. I brought a dog in after he'd hurt his leg. It wasn't urgent, but it was important. On the phone, they told me to just drop him off and they'd look at him shortly. He was overdue for his shots, so they were going to handle that, too. When we arrived, as we were filling out paperwork, the office manager declared she was not going to let him stay because he was overdue on shots. It was just too long. I asked if something had changed. She said it was just too long, then opened up the file to find out how long it had been. It was arbitrary and mean-spirited, especially considering the rest of the staff was obviously used to allowing the pets to come in. Heck, the person had already come out to take him back when she stopped the proceedings. Any number of other vets are preferable to this one. Read Less
