First time going here, it took a total of 10mins from sign in to vet but 5 mins to checkout. They all move so fast as if they are trying to act busy like an ER but really they just look lost and sloppy here. It was a mess honestly. Front desk is rude and lazy I was trying to check out and the front "Big Boned" lady was done helping the guy in front so I just ask if this was where I check out and she looks up and says Yes with an attitude and says she's helping someone out still so I go sit and now she gets on her phone and answers calls and back on phone so I get up and ask again is this checkout? And she says yes what can I do for you. This Establishment is rude and not friendly at all honestly your better off going to Baldwin Animal Hospital. Read Less

This is as good as it gets in Corpus. Coming from Austin, I was used to a standard of high end, quality care for my animals. I suppose in a saturated market, businesses try harder to compete. Moving to Corpus, I was shocked at the quality of vet places in town, until I found Southside. Their facilities are clean, modern, and work with the flow of their animal visitors very well - they even have a sick animal entrance to keep them separate from the well ones. The remind you about rebates and are great at getting in animals quickly. Dr. Moore (Sr.) has proven to be our go to vet - he listens, explains matters well, and has advised us on a number of miscellaneous things like diet and habits outside of common care and sick appointments. I would recommend him over other vets, though Dr. Moore Jr. seems to have the same mannerisms. There is no other experience in CC that will compete with Southside. Go here first. Read Less

We took our two dogs in as new patients to get their annual vaccines and refill their Trifexis meds.    The clinic is clean and we didn't have to wait long.    However, in order to get the Trifexis they said they had to call my previous veterinarian to see when I last got it -- which was in November of 2016.    I was told that based on that time frame my dogs were a month past due and would have to be tested for heartworms.  I explained that I had 2 doses of it left when I got it in November and the dogs were current.  Basically, I was called a LIAR and we had to pay an additional $70.00 for the tests.   Then, to top that, their price on the Trifexis is outrageously high, and I asked for a prescription, which they would not give me.   When I balked at the high price, the girl did finally tell me that they do "price match".  Fortunately, I had my iPad with me and got online and got a much better price --- at first she started to tell me that they wanted it printed out, but I think she knew I was out of patience with the whole situation and she did match the price.   We will NOT return to this clinic --- nor would I recommend them! But if you are gonna charge the owners of sick animals an extra $15.00 to sit and wait for hours on end. Than making more effort to get them in would be wiser. Dr. Wilson takes very good care of my chihuahua puppy I had a Chihuahua for almost eight years dr. Wilson take care of and now I have another Chihuahua that will be a year old next month that has been very sick through her little short life this veterinarian clinic all of the staff were very kind and patient and helpful and loving to the animals the doctors are very intelligent as to what the animal means they're loving and caring while dealing with the animals I absolutely love for them to care for all of my animals I give them five stars Read Less

I have loved coming to Southside Animal Hospital for years! Dr. Wilson is our animals favorite vet and was actually one of the first people to meet my Bridget after I adopted her. I had been taking my dogs to this vet for years... Just recently, I had a dog that got injured by a car and I rush her in... I told them I didn't have much money but they insist to take x-rays and then they finally said oh she needs a specialist to redo her leg because it was broken in three different places... I couldn't believe it, I just told them I didn't have much money...they had no remorse and didn't care... I would have paid in payments to safe my dogs life but they don't do that, they told me I need to apply for credit... And then when I gone to talk to my brother and was outside they came outside and told me they can do surgery but they cannot guarantee the outcome.... First of all they should of known how severe my dog was, and should of offer to put her down or said we can do x-rays but the x-rays may show severe injury.. but no, they still took x-rays, without giving me a choice... They give her pelvic exam saying it was not collapse but didn't think they needed to do an x-ray but still did the x-ray... I still paid over $300 money I didn't have... I will never take my dogs there... And I stopped payment, because I don't think they deserve to be paid, they only care about how much they should charge you, then giving me a choice.... I think all vets should be like human ER, let us pay in payments, not everyone have that type of money for either dog or human... So why should it be any different...why should we pay up front, for a dog when we don't have to at an ER.. animals dogs, cats are part of our family too, so should they be treated as such??!!! I have four other dogs and I already found another vet that I really like and they will be going there from now on...Read Less

This is an amazing clinic and a great group of veterinarians and clinical assistants. These people really care about your pet. They are very skilled in treating a wide variety of animals. The clinic has a well pet side and an ill pet side, so if your are there for a routine checkup, your pet is less likely to pickup an illness. I can't say enough good things about about this place! I have a Yorkie named RAZKAL. 6 years ago he was just a puppy and I needed somewhere close for him to be looked after. The First day I walked in there the employees just made us feel at home. We were seen by Dr.Wilson and believe me I watched to see the interaction between her and Raz. I was convinced right away that they (Southside) would be my vet. Dr Wilson cuddled my little boy and relaxed him to the point that kisses were given back and for 6 years now RAZ never shakes or shivers out of being scared to go to vet. Right now Raz has a problem with scratching all the time. We do have him on a medication but it helps but does not cure. This winter we will look at doing the tests to try and really fix this. I have had numerous vets in the area with many pets and I will stay with Southside. I am pleased totally with interraction and dedication they show me making my pet feel loved and cared for. We had found a cat with an apparent injury to her left fore-paw and they understood that we might not want to go full bore at this point (xrays, etc.), so he checked for a break, one was not apparent, they gave me some meds for her fever and a shot of antibiotics. not a long wait and super friendly staff. not to mention the price was right! These are the best vets I have ever used. It's pretty obvious that they are very intelligent. My cat has had issues no one has been able to figure out and they did the first time I went. Prices are very fair and they honesty care about your animal. I have been telling everyone I know to go here. The place is very nice and very very clean. I just bought two puppies. When I walked in for my appointment, you could feel the negative atmosphere. The pock marked face receptionist was rude, no manners. Very clean and professional office.  A lot of compassionate staff. Try and make an appointment as there is a 'walk-in' fee, but that's not that unusual.  We've been seen by three different vets here and all are very gentle with the kitties and give good thorough attention to the animals and the owners...explaining well what is happening and what's needed.  We've been here multiple times and will continue to use and recommend Southside.  They've done right by us. My husband and I are still in disbelieve. It's the 21st century and this is the only clinic we've been to (yes we are military) that DOES NOT call you when you animal is out of surgery. WHAT??? Really you want us to just guess a time and show up? Even better is they can not email you anything, or be bothered to call you about your appointment. This is the only vet we've started to use that DOES NOT call the owner for anything.This is really sad they have such poor customer service bc I really liked the veterinarians. To help you understand the difference, I just got a call from our vet in SC to remind me my dogs were pass due. Now that's service,and they even emailed me their current shot records to show me what was needed. Maybe it's because we are in the military that emailing and calling us about our pets is very considerate. So sad to say but we are going to take our business else where. Read Less

Quite possibly the fastest service we've ever received of any veterinary clinic.  While it may not have been the most thorough, we only went in to have two cats checked and vaccinated - and they did that. The facility's rather small but that doesn't detract from the overall expedience from the time we walked in, got in straight to a room and done in less time it would've taken for us to be waiting for ANYthing at some of the other clinics we've been to.  The vet and the technician were friendly enough, but the front desk folks could stand to brighten up a bit. Service is friendly, quality of work is very good, and the pricing is excellent. An example of the service there: One of my dogs had a cough, so I took her in. The appointment only took about 15 minutes, so the vet told the staff to only charge me half of the appointment fee. The vets are definitely not there for the money, and their prices are an obvious indication. If you're looking for a vet, I recommend giving them a call and asking about the price for whatever you need. I also had my doberman's ears clipped there and they've turned out great (only cost me $220, too). Read Less

I live in Minnesota yet my veterinary clinic is Southside Animal Hospita in Corpus Christi. We visit Texas once a year and always schedule our pets' vaccines and other treatments for that time. The staff is very professiona and accommodatingl and their services are reasonably priced. I am retired and living on a fixed income now so that aspect is greatly appreciated. Read Less

People working there are friendly, very nice, clean place. I had just one problem. I took my dogs to vaccinate on the Halloween Day (which I won't do again) and the vet was dressed as a witch with this ridiculous huge black hat. Well, my one of my dogs was scared and anxious looking at her. Such a costumes are not friendly to dogs. Vets should know that better. I will go there again, because it's the closest place to my house, but I will avoid Halloween day for sure. I don't like this day anyway. Read Less

We have used this vet to board our dogs when ever we visit Corpus Christi. They have always been accomodating, friendly, and very reaonably priced. The well being of all animals under their care is their first consideration. If we lived in Corpus, this would be our regular vet! Read Less
