Wouldnt take my 2 dogs anywhere else. They are caring, kind and luv my babies! Others are cheaper, but you get what you pay for!!! Horrible service had the veterinarian argue with me more then being concerned of what was wrong with my dog and trying to help him way overpriced bought the same exact medication for $40 at their clinic got it for $13 at Walmart it didn't even work made it worse Had to take my dog to a different clinic please don't use this clinic for your pets it's not worth it Read Less

Today I had an appointment with my dog Tata, she was in for ear cropping which my previous dog Esco had done here before w/o no problems . So of course I took my other dog Tata since the service was amazing with my first pup Esco. I went ahead and schedule for her to get her surgery done as well. and unfortunately I received a phone call after her surgery thinking everything went great . But the doctor called me and told me that my pup Tata had passed away after the surgery, she was recovering and she suddenly stopped breathing. They stated that they did everything they could but I honestly expected so much better . I am very upset after this experience I never expected this to be the outcome !!!!! Read Less

Called on Friday at 5:30, they answered the phone and asked is this is an emergency and I told them yes and what the problem was. I was put on hold for almost 10 minutes, when they came back on the phone I was told we close in 15 minutes and the doctors will be leaving soon, I should try calling one of the 24 hour clinics. I live right across the street and could have been there in less than 5 minutes. Our normal vet closes at 5 which is why I tried this place bc it says they are open until 7, guess that isn't the case. Thankfully our normal vet is available for emergency's and offered to meet us that evening. I have used this place once previously and the Dr. I had was not very pleasant, I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy for their pet. Read Less

I have only just begun taking my pet to Tejas Veterinary Clinic, otherwise I would probably have given them the complete five stars. I moved to Southern Texas from out of state and used google reviews to find a primary vet for my doberman puppy. Using google reviews as my guide, I had originally chosen to attend Southside Animal Hospital. My puppy had recently had his ears cropped outside of Texas and I was looking for a vet to begin taping and posting his ears. Although Southside Animal Hospital informed me that they do cropping, when I went to have my puppy's ears taped for the first time, the vet there merely wrapped the base of each ear separately with no connector tape or posts (no support whatsoever). I had to re-wrap them twice in the first hour. I immediately began searching for a different vet to do the job. I went to Tejas Veterinary Clinic that day and they did not disappoint! Dr.Perkins showed complete competency in the cropping and posting process. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. As I was checking out, I saw another beautifully cropped doberman puppy in the final stages of taping. This helped seal the deal for me. It is hard to find an adequate vet when it comes to cropping ears and this clinic will be my new primary vet. Read Less

I have had varying levels of service , took a pet in with laceration to face on weekend Vet on call used wrong suture to close wound and it reopened in matter of a day ...took him back and a more competent Vet stapled and had no issues. Have 5 German Shepherds , spend an extraordinary monthly cost for Heart Worm Prevention ...decided to try Online provider at 2/3 the cost and Tejas refused to provide prescription information to online provider. I have spent literally 1000's of dollars at this vet and they chose to lose our business to protect their inflated costs of medication vs. providing a basic level of customer service. I will be instructing friends and family to take their pets elsewhere , as Tejas is more concerned with profit margin than pet health ! Read Less

I had two Isabella Dobermans tail dock and ear cropped from Tejas. Show crop (long slightly curved). No problems. Often times people don't care for them properly which causes scarring then blame vets. It's never pretty at first. If you plan on cropping a dog keep in mind it's a lot of work. You have to re wrap them a lot. Best with two people.Read Less

I have taken both my dogs for ear cropping one them had her ears done yrs ago they came out one shorter than the other, I was was very upset . I really noticed it when we got home. Another doctor did the cropping bc the regular Dr wasn't there. So I eventually let it go. I recently had a puppy flown to me from out of state, very expensive pups championship bloodline, I took him there again hoping it is wouldn't be disappointed,we'll, my pups ears came out looking horrible! I figured it wouldn't look so bad when he grows into them, I'm still hoping. I'm planning to take my dog to shows . They better not have ruined his ears. I mainly see Dr. Hinojosa, who is amazing and wonderful and I can't say enough good things about her! The front staff and techs are also awesome. They do everything they can to help your sick pets and take wonderful care of every animal through their door, I've never been disappointed and they take every concern I have to heart and explain everything to me. I had very high hopes for this clinic, and now, I am very sorry that we ever did any business with them. We took our 2 dogs in for checkups, and to schedule some procedures. Our older dog needed to have some work done on his teeth. They did do a nice job with this, but when it came to our puppy and her needs, they could not have been more indifferent. At the end of our 1st visit, she was supposed to be given some medication for worms. I asked one of the receptionists about this, and she assured me that the meds had already been given to her. Come to find out that they had not, and the pills were sitting at her work station the entire time. I had to drive back to the clinic just to pick them up...not too big of a deal, however we live 20 miles away. At that same visit, we inquired about taking our puppy in to get spayed. We were told that this was done on Mondays only, no appointments necessary, just arrive early (around 8am). A few months later, I did exactly that, yet when I walked in, I was told there were no 'appointments' available, and had to schedule for the following Wednesday. We took our puppy in to be spayed as planned, and later that day (around 2pm), my husband received a call that she was fine and out of surgery. When my husband found himself in the area around 230pm, he popped in to the clinic. He was told by the receptionists (there was no vet onsite) that he could not pick her up or see her until 330pm, and he was not given a reason why. He asked if he could just see her, even in a private room, and that he would wait until the designated time, but again, he was told no, with no reason as to why. At this point he became upset--we have had bad experiences with vets before (dogs dying, us being told they died so the vet could keep them), and all he wanted to do was make sure that our puppy was OK. The 'ladies' at reception were not empathetic at all, and continued to refuse his seeing her, and refused to provide a reason. They finally allowed him to take our puppy home after he threatened to call the police. That evening the doctor (Hubert) called our home to speak with my husband to check on our puppy. After being told that she was fine and resting, he brought up the incident which had occurred earlier at the clinic, and my husband explained his side. The doctor responded with a tone of indifference, defended the staff's behavior, and still did not provide an explanation. He also never apologized. To this day we really don't know the true intentions of his call. This week we received a letter from the clinic asking us to inform them of our new vet as they are 'unable to retain us as a client'. I have worked in the customer service industry for 30 years, and never in my career have I come across a group of 'service providers' more indifferent to their customer's needs or concerns. Their lack of professionalism, communication and compassion is astounding, and I don't understand how they stay in business. They state that their goal is to offer quality medicine with a compassionate heart, but their behavior was far from this. I will never return to this place of business, and I will never, ever refer them to anyone...even in an emergency. Read Less

Really not a good place.  They are NOT compassionate as they claim.  We took our dog in to be spayed, and when my husband arrived earlier than expected to pick her up, he was told that he would have to wait.  When he asked why, he was not given a reason.  When he asked if he could just see her, he was told no, and given no reason.  He finally was able to see her once he threatened to call the police.  The 'ladies' at reception were rude and could not have cared less.  The doctor called to check on her later that night, and then he brought up the incident, defended his rude staff, and basically told us to go elsewhere.  This week we received a letter from them stating just that--they no longer can 'retain us as a client'  Fine by us!!  We will never return here. The professionals at Tejas Veterinary Clinic are the best! Dr. Perkins takes his time to get to know his patients and their family. All the staff are kind, patient and loving. You can tell they really love what they do. Tejas is located over 30 minutes from my house. I could use another vet located just down the street from my home but I make the drive to Tejas. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere but Tejas. Dr Rob Perkins is gentle and caring with my older dog. He takes the time to,work with her and accurately diagnose her health problems. This really matters as she is our baby and we love her like a child. I drive 45 minutes each direction to see Dr. Perkins and I've is worth every second of the trip. Read Less

I've been going to Tejas for over 5 years now. I live about 30 miles away, but I still make the drive to go see them because I trust their knowledge and care for my fur baby. They always follow up after visits with a phone call to make sure your pet is still doing well. That's customer service if you ask me. I have used this vet twice now, once for boarding and once bc my vet was closed. Both times walking out the door left me upset and not satisfied with the services provided. I will travel farther now just to avoid this clinic. The kennel is nice, but does not explain a single thing. My dog was there for 10 days and I picked him up with almost all his food I left. My dog is on a strict diet due to surgery related history. This was explained prior to drop off and the answer received was "He probably got fed our food" This is unexceptable for our pet. I do not believe he was treated as a client but more of a payment to keep them in business. Thank you Tejas for making me like Riverside Vet clinic that much more.Read Less
