Unfortunately; having a good vet is over shadowed when you have a rude receptionist!
It is important to remember that courtesy and respect go a long way. If you are the first one patients see, it is crucial to be personable and polite. I understand that we all have bad days.......so, thinking it was an isolated incident, I returned! Bad idea...... I would not let that lady wash my car, much less handle my pets :(

The vet is nice. My dog was neutered yesterday and I was never called or anything on his progress. The receptionist was very short with me when I called said he was fine I asked if he was going to be ready soon she said 3. I came at 3 it wasn’t that busy. I checked in and paid and was given no instructions or anything she came out with my dog recently neutered in her hands and hands him to me and send me on my way. I walk out and remembered I checked the pain pill on the paper I was given so I walk back in and ask her after waiting in line again. She stares blankly at me Jessica or Jennifer whatever her name was and walks away comes back with my pills. Then I’m at home reading the receipt and see I was charged an ecollar which my dog had none when he was carried out. So I go the next day because it was already late so I wasn’t going back to get it. I go in the morning and ask for a refund and another receptionist tells me he needs to wear it so he doesn’t get at his scar well if I needed it that bad why didn’t I freaking get it when he was out. I told her I had to come in multiple times for his things I just wanted a refund. Plus I have a collection of those ecollars at home. She gave me my refund and not in a happy mood. I understand 15 dollars isn’t a lot but I’m not a millionaire l! Probably won’t be returning anytime soon. READ YOUR RECEIPTS!

I am extremely disappointed after a couple years of being happy here. I love the vet but the staff let me down in a big way today. I called because my cat had an obvious UTI. The person that answered said, “I have a 1:30 today.” Well I work and could not make that time, so I asked for something after 3 pm. I was told they had a 3:30 appointment but I would probably have to wait. I didn’t mind because my cat needed to be seen, and I like the vet.
So I take off work early and get to the office with my cat screaming in pain in his carrier. I was told, “Your not on the schedule today,” and after some checking was told, “ Oh, you have a 3:30 appointment tomorrow.” I asked if there is anyway I can be seen, with my screaming cat and his infection who has peed all over my house. The receptionist coldly told me their was no room in their schedule after telling me about the afternoon appointments, which did not seem immediate. No apology was ever offered, and she looked at me like I was dumb. I ended up at another vets who realized how serious my cats condition was. Don’t waste your time here with acute conditions, they don’t care.
Try Tejas Veterinary Clinic instead. I called Tejas Veterinary Clinic while sitting in the parking lot of Violet Veterinary Clinic (after being turned away even though I was told that morning I had an appointment) and they were able to see me immediately, thank goodness. And not only did Tejas take my cat as soon as I walked in (because they were worried about a bladder blockage which could have killed him) they were also dealing with a dog with a snake bite who came in right behind me. Tejas was very professional and took great care of my cat, who was in horrible pain and peeing blood.
If I could give zero stars to Violet Veterinary Clinic I would. Extremely unprofessional front staff who have absolutely no compassion for a hurting animal. I will not be going back and advise you to stay way. When it really matters for your fur baby they do not care.

Doctor Summer is the attending veterinarian and she absolutely is a delight, she is very caring and absolutely goes above and beyond to help her patients. Definitely recommend this veterinary clinic, appointments are the best way to go, but they are happy to see walk-in emergencies or concerns!

Staff is great, very caring group of people. My dogs are my babies and I expect excellent care. When we walk in they know my babies names and that is what I expect. Love this place.

I am not sure I could find the words to describe how AMAZING this veterinary office is! The staff is so kind and professional And efficient...wow they are great! Dr. Summer....oh my goodness...of my 40 years on this earth I have never met a greater veterinarian than her! She is truly gifted....not only is she so well versed with the aptitude to explain clearly and in "simple" terms what is going on with your pet, she also has a heart of gold! You walk away with the knowledge and comfort of knowing you have an expert doctor walking right beside you, understanding that your pet is more than just a pet but they are an extension of you....they are family! Now my family is a bit bigger....we are truly blessed to have Dr. Summer and all the other outstanding animals lovers at the Violet Veterinary Clinic as part of our family! This vet is great. She came in and figured out what our dog's problem was. Other vets didn't know and just wanted to keep status quo and over medicate. Staff was very friendly and nice. There are very reasonable. It is worth the drive from Corpus. I would highly recommend her.
