I took my dog here a total of three times. The first time I went in for vaccines and everything was fine except for the hour-long wait even though I had an appointment. The last two times I went in for my dog's skin issues and they sent me home with the large bill, steroid shots for my dog and just a list of allergy medication I could give him like Benadryl. The Benadryl just made my dog have diarrhea and throw up. Never once did they offer me even an anti itch shampoo or skin scrape. I changed vets and took him to the Southside Animal Hospital. Instantly they put my dog on antibiotics and gave him and antiseptic shampoo. They sat down with me and gave me different options on how to help clear up my dogs skin. Next time I go they're going to do even more. Windsor Park should of helped me better at trying to find a solution for my dog's skin issues instead of just sending him home with a steroid shot and making ME look for over the counter allergy medication. I have been using Windsor Park for about 4 years for routine vaccinations. In that time most of the time I went there I had a long wait. Recently I had a procedure done for my dog they did not tell me the consequences before doing the procedure which was unnecessary to begin with. I ended up having to take my dog Elsewhere for better treatment. Slow on vaccinations would not have surgeries done at this business. Read Less

This was the best place to take animals. I was so sorry when we moved away and we have yet to find a place as compassionate and competent as Windsor Park. I did not realize how great a place it was until I have tried others with our pets. They (Windsor Park) took care of all our dogs and bird - and here in the Austin area, we've "yet to find you." I have never been to a veterinarian's office where the vet was afraid of dogs. I have a boxer that was being well behaved ie not barking or trying to bite. I took all precautions not to let that happen. We sat in the car for almost 2 hrs waiting to be seen then went directly to the room with no issues. The vet tech then came in and we spoke about my dog's issues before taking him to be weighed. At no time did he bark or try to bite anyone. When we got back to the room the vet, Dr. Hinjosa, came in and immediately started berating me about letting my dog bite him and holding his hands in the air. When the vet came in I was holding his collar and leash and as I let go of the collar Tbone starting slowly walking towards the vet to say hi with no signs of aggression. That is when the berating started. Mind you I still had his leash and was holding it very close to the collar. I left crying. Read Less

I took my shih-tzu here for years and they had always been good, until I met Dr. Krista Burk. Dr. Burk asked me to take my dog in for a test on Monday but wasn't going to have results until two days later knowing my dog was in critical condition. That night I had to take my dog into the emergency room because she was suffering and going fast. Oso Park Animal Hospital was able to do the SAME test and give me results in 20 minutes. When Dr. Burk called to tell me the results, she knew Izzy had passed already because Oso Park was nice enough to inform Dr. Burk. When I asked Dr. Burk why she didn't send me to Oso Park to get the test results faster, she claimed she wasn't unaware they could do that. I told her that I suggest she get to know what services other vets can do to help another family from having to see the pain of their pet dying. Dr. Burk didn't seem to care to listen or talk to me from the beginning. When I told the Oso park vet what medicine Dr. Burk sent me home with they seemed shocked that I didn't get something else to help my pet with her condition. Basically this lady just doesn't care or has no knowledge on how to help. Unfortunately my pet's last day on earth was miserable, and I wish I could have avoided that by being told how to help her faster. I would have paid the same $97 just to have Dr. Burk tell me that Oso Park could get results faster and being told upfront that my dog was in such bad condition!Read Less

I brought my poodle in May 2015 for her annual checkup.I asked why she was looking weight.I was told oh "she's just getting older" Early November 2015 she died a horrific death having massive seizures.She had cancer.When I called to have her put down they were to busy to end her suffering.I had to smother her with a plastic bag.Decide for yourself if you want to experience this type of treatment from a vet. I took my dog here a week ago. After a bunch of tests, the vet tells me she has hemmoraghic gastroenteritis and sends me home with meds. Now,a week later, she has passed away because she actually had pyometra. I am heart broken. I trusted he knew what he was doing even though I told them she didn't have diarrhea or blood in her stool which is the main symptom of hge. Out of all the tests he did he couldn't think to do a sonogram knowing she was an older dog.Read Less

Of all the vets my pets have ever seen, Windsor park has been the most personal, upfront, honest, and truly caring. They have a wonderful team and I could not be more thankful. Very friendly staff and seems knowledgeable. I have been looking for a new vet since the last one was horrible and Windsor was recommended to me. I also have a parakeet on top of a cat so this was a more logical choice for me since they do birds as well. I saw Dr. Krista Burk today and she was extremely friendly and on top of her game. She knew exactly what I was talking about in terms of my cat's history (shame on me for not bringing records though) and gave suggestions on how to proceed. She took my concerns/questions/comments into consideration and did not force anything on me. This is also the quietest my cat has ever been at any vet. She did not put up a fight or anything (from what I saw and this is UNLIKE her). Nothing but positive from this place...except one thing. The only concern was I was not seen until 30 minutes after an appointment. Granted, they do emergencies as well and those have priority, I did not know the case of the others who were there waiting before me. So all in all, I am extremely pleased with this vet and will continue going....we'll see if the bird agrees. Lol.Read Less

This is a place full of caring & compassionate people. They came to the house to put down our beloved dog, Oso. When I went to pick up his cremated remains, they were in a beautifully carved box with an engraved name plate on it. Then when I got home, they had sent a single red rose to the house in sympathy. Been coming here since I was a child with my family and our many pets. As an adult, i would take my pets elsewhere. This is a generational family run hospital, and it shows. The Pigots and those they choose to share this practice are knowledgeable, compassionate, gentile, and humane. They spend as much time as needed to explain issues and treatments and then wait for the pet owner to decide. There is no pressure ever. Their prices are reasonable, and they will work with you if needed. They have gone so far and beyond reasonable care and treatment to treat and save the lives of our pets. This extra care has extended the length and improved the quality of my pets' lives on several occasions over my lifetime.  When nothing more can be done, they stand with you through the tough decisions. I've only been taking my dogs to Windsor for a few years, and they're great! I have 4 dogs ranging from 10lbs to 95lbs and all are treated awesomely and equally. It's an almost guarantee that they can squeeze you in with about a day's notice minimum, otherwise there's the non-affiliated Oso Animal ER. Great staff and great prices! Read Less
