Dr. C and his staff are amazing and truly care about the animals! I called over 20 animal clinics because my puppy had a hook stuck in her mouth before I called Cypress Animal Hospital. I only had $30 in my account and it was going to cost a lot more than that to get my puppy help! No other animal clinic would allow me to make payments. I am a student and I was denied Care Credit. I called Dr. C and he told me to bring my baby in. She’s a rescue pup and they took very good care of her! My pups name is Raven. Her and her brother found me! Not only did he work with me on payments, he was so thrilled that these pups found a loving home that he gave me dewormer for both and a free bag of dog food! I get to the counter to set up payments and he only charged me for the lidocaine. That is a vet that truly cares about the animals! I have had nothing but amazing experiences with this office and the entire staff. My 9 month old lab just had to have surgery to remove a rock he'd swallowed and everyone from the nurses to the doctor to reception was extremely nice and knowledgeable. The surgery went really well and he's currently recovering rapidly. The doctor kept me informed of everything from start to finish and provided an itemized estimate before hand. We just had to make the tough decision of putting down our dog down yesterday. We had been to another clinic a few months back, but decided to get a second opinion. Dr. Freddy was the one who attended us. We greatly appreciate the straight to the point and informative diagnosis he made. It was such a difficult decision for us, but we felt like Dr. Freddy definitely cared about our dog and was honest about the reality of the situation. We are confident we made the right decision, so that gives us some peace. The staff also was so nice and did not rush us after we let our dog go. I love everyone at this vet. My cat got very sick and she didn't make it but dr c and his staff did everything they possibly could to save her and they care so much here. I'm so thankful for everyone who works here. They know exactly what they are doing. They actually do care about the well-being of all the animals. They are amazing here and I couldn't ever thank them enough for everything they did for my little baby. They know how hard it is to lose a animal and they try very hard to make sure any animal that comes in is loved and feels a little bit at home. I would recommend taking your animal here if ANYTHING goes wrong or even if you want to just get your animal a bath they do a great job and if I could rate them more then 5 stars I would. My dog was attacked by a pit bull on 10/21/2016.  My daughter was injured trying to get the pit off my dog, who is a mini aussie.  The attack caused extensive trauma to my dog.  My daughter rushed him to Dr. Caballero and he was taken in immediately. Over the course of his recovery, he had to have 2 surgeries, a drain, and had more stitches and staples than I cared to count.  The staff was amazing!  My dog was timid around animals after the attack and the staff would help clear the waiting room when we would get there for appointments to reduce the stress for my dog.  I cannot put into words how much I appreciate the care and attention my dog received at Cypress Vet Hospital! I took my dog to this veterinarian hospital for a condition that a previous vet was unable to fix for several months. Dr. Caballero put a diet plan in motion prescribed meds etc and within a week she was appearing to not be in pain and was responding well with prescription dog food. The entire staff are very caring individuals who have only respect and understanding for the fact that your animals are your family. They are reasonable in cost. Most importantly is Dr. Cabellero is an excellent vet who explained to me in detail what was wrong and how to fix it. My dog is almost 11yrs old and suffered for almost a year because I trusted the wrong vet. I will forever be grateful for this vetrinarian hospital. I will recommend them to anyone who needs a vetrinarian in the future. The staff from the first phone call were wonderful. I need to mention the receptionist is extremely friendly and sweet. If you are looking for a caring, honest, affordable and excellent veterinary clinic this is the RIGHT place. My dog Shay has been seeing Dr. C and his staff for about a year now for her regular check ups and he has always been great! Recently my dog became ill (not eating/vomiting for 4 days) I took Shay in to see Dr. C, I was able to get an appointment quickly at a time that fit around my schedule. Once there, Dr. C and his staff promptly ran tests and took xrays believing she had an infection or an obstruction in her intestines (toy ect...). At this point their office was closing and rather than sending Shay and I to an emergency clinic (costing up to $4,000) they treated shay by giving her an IV drip for dehydration and morphine for pain. I was then able to take Shay home for the night and wait for the prognosis. About an hour later (at this time 2-3 hours after the office closed) Dr. C called me himself saying he was able to speak to the radiologist and confirmed the obstruction. Shay was scheduled for a surgery the next day that was $1,500 rather than $3,000-$4,000 that I read the same surgery would cost at other practices. Once the surgery had finished Dr. C called me himself saying the surgery went well and there had indeed been some type of bone lodged in her intestine. If she had not been seen as promptly by Dr. C and his team she would not have made it through the night. Today I am able to pick Shay up and she should have a full recovery in 4-5 days. I cannot express my gratitude for Dr. C and his team. Their fast and accurate work has not only saved Shay's life, but my life due to the fact that I would be utterly heart broken if she had passed away. We've been taking our pets to Cypress Veterinary Hospital for over ten years now and we love Dr. Caballero and his staff. They are attentive to our pets and so very caring. We lost a Yorkie about 18 months ago, Vinnie, and he had epilepsy from the time he was a year old. Dr. Caballero attended special classes, tried all different combinations of meds, and did all he could to ensure our precious little guy had a wonderful life. We know we had him much longer than we could have, and it's due to his care. He even recognized that Vinnie hated to be caged, so as soon as possible, he released him to us and showed us how to care for him while he recovered. When we lost him, he cried with us. That is how a caring Vet should be, and even though it's a drive, we still bring Vinnie's poodle-brother, Clancy, and our new little Yorkie, Cassie there to be treated. First of all, their address is 12002 Cypress N. Houston, in Cypress.  Dr. Ricardo Caballero is the owner and primary Vet in this small clinic with a huge heart.  In fact, Dr. C. has even added a dog park to the property behind his clinic in memory of his dog, Reba.We've taken our Yorkie there since 2004 - he has epilepsy.  Dr. C. goes way beyond what we've ever seen a vet do and we definitely appreciate it.  As an example, Vinnie, our Yorkie, hates to be caged and has even had a seizure when he is.  When he had to have mouth surgery, rather than keep him caged overnight, we were able to take him home once he was out of the anesthesia and give his IV medications there in the comfort of his usual surroundings.  No question is too small here, and owners are encouraged to be an active part of their pet's care.Dr. Caballero makes it a point to keep current on the latest treatments and is equipped for laser surgery.  He's also spent time researching canine epilepsy, which is definitely a plus for us and for Vinnie.  He'll always return a phone call if he isn't available and will work with you to ensure that your pet gets the best of care - from you as the owner and he as the healthcare professional.We were delighted to learn that he's a Purdue alum, as are my daughter and I - and now if we could only get him to tile over that huge burgundy Texas A&M logo on the waiting room floor all would be...well, you get the message!Are we pleased?  Definitely!  Would we recommend him?  I only wish they had ten stars!  In  fact, over the time that we've taken Vinnie here, we've come to feel that Ricardo Caballero is a friend as well as a vet.  That he cares about his patients and their families is very obvious.  We care about every one at the clinic as well, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My experience with Dr. Caballero and his complete staff was above and beyond any other veterinary clinic I have been to. My daughter's beloved best friend/college roomate, which is a boxer named Zoe, ran into complications to deliver a single pup. The puppy was stillborn and was a HUGE puppy, causing Zoe internal bleeding. Dr. Caballero had to perform an emergency surgery late that afternoon and repaired a tear in the uterous, repaired four to five blood vessels, and removed a large blood clot, saving Zoe's life. Dr. Caballero, himself, went back up to the clinic at 10:00 p.m. that night to check on Zoe, and called us to let us know that she was doing well from the surgery. When we went to pick her up the next day, his staff gave us a set of photos that were taken during the surgery to show us all the damage and repairs that he made to Zoe, explaining in great detail everything that he did during surgery. The followup care has been excellent, and the kindness and compassion his staff has shown us far out weighs most of the vet clinics here in Cypress that I have had experience with. I have only met two veterinarians in my life who cared more for the animals than receiving $$ and Dr. Caballero is one of the two, and the other is an equine vet in Santa Fe, Texas! I would highly recommend this clinic to everyone for routine, sick, injured and even your emergency/life threatening veterinarian needs. I want to share our experience with Dr. Caballero and his staff with our Yorkie who just turned 1 on June 2nd 2012. As owners of 3 dogs and a cat, we have had several visits to Dr. Caballero over the past 5+ years with Ginger (our Yorkie) most recently due to a crisis where we almost lost her. We discovered she had some kind of an GI infection or possibly ingestion of some kind of poison which induced severe vomiting for 3+ days. We were extremely concerned as she could not keep anything down (not even water) and lost 8 oz. which is a lot for a 4 lb dog. We brought her in on a Sat where she was given medicine and IV treatment and gave her Pedialyte Sun to keep her hydrated as she still would not eat or drink anything. We went back in first thing Monday for additl IV treatments and medication - which was a critical turning point for her as she had been miserable, moaning and inconsolable for 4 days now. Dr. Caballero was extremely knowledgeable, caring and compassionate as well as his associate who treated her on Sat. After his Tech Chanda taught me how to feed her with a syringe and continue the medication, Ginger began reviving and returning to her vibrant little personality which brought us great joy. With every visit to this vet, I have spoken with other pet owners in the lobby and each one has had their own special story of how Dr. Cabellero and his staff treated and/or saved their pet's life and for this we will always be grateful! I took my 13 year old dog into Cypress Veterinary Hospital because of a massive infection and a possible tumor. Dr. Caballero ran lab tests and gave me all of the information that I needed to make an informed decision about my dog's care. I decided to leave her overnight for iv fluids and a blood transfusion. He called me later that evening to give me an update on her and to tell me that he would be doing the surgery that we talked about the next day. The next day after he had finished that surgery he called me to tell me how the surgery went and how she was doing. My husband went and saw her the day after surgery and was very impressed with the staff. I picked her up on Friday and the girls there had everything ready for me. Because I had me 2 sons with me, they helped me get everything in the car and even helped load my dog. I am very impressed with the level of care that my dog received and the level of concern that the vet and the girls at the clinic have for her. I have used several vets and Dr. Caballero and his staff are by far the best that I have used. I would not hesitate to refer friends/family to his clinic. Because of Dr. Caballero and his staff, my family did not have to lose a very loved family member and for that I am very grateful to the staff of Cypress Veterinary Hospital. Read Less

Basically the only good thing about this cypress vet is the fact that is so close to home. its really convenient to get to if you need something ASAP. as for service...thats hardly anything to ""whoo"" yourself over. I'm about to move out of the country and am planning on taking my cat there so I have to get all the paper work, shots, and quarantine done for her so she can come with me. After having trouble with a different vet place before, I took her to Cypress Vet. Giving the paperwork he needed to read and sign, he was supposed to call me afterwards so I could pick it up and send off to Austin. 8 days later, still no call, so I called them and they THEN decided to tell me that I they didnt have the shot she needed before the one my cat was there for. SO, I got that for her, picked up my paperwork that the girl said was ""all done"". UH HARDLY. The doctor didnt sign ANYWHERE that he was supposed to and the place where he put his name, address, and signature WAS IN A BOX FOR A GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL THAT CLEARLY SAID ""DO NOT SIGN HERE OFFICIAL SIGNATURE ONLY"". SO I had to print out another one, and HIGHLIGHT myself where he had to sign. so, upon getting my paperwork and reading it through once I got home, I realize that the doctor not only did not READ anything he was supposed to, but gave my cat THE WRONG RABIES SHOT. it said TYPED on the paperwork what she needed (which was the same shot the vet place before had already given her), but the doctor decided to give her a different one thinking ""it would be the same thing"". NO. so not only is my move date potentially at risk because I will not be able to get my paperwork done in time, but now I have to find another vet place to take her to. thank you SO much cypress vet for you lack of communication and you lack of reading skills. I took my dog in as he was bleeding profusely under his jaw. We dropped him off at 6pm one night and was told the bill would be ""no more than $200"". When I picked him up the next day, they wanted $462!! I disputed this and paid $209. Due to this I was questioning the care of my dog and took him for a second opinion. Here are some words from the second vet. 1. ""Your dog was not given proper treatment"". What was causing the bleeding was that a tooth root had pushed through his skin. Cypress Vet Hospital stitched the skin arount the protruding root instead of pulling the tooth and finding the exact issue. 2. The xrays (that I picked up from Cypress Vet to take to the new vet) were reviewed and the comment was ""wow, what they did was lay your dog down on a table xray and took a picture"" instead of having each tooth examined in a dental xray (as you do in your own dentist). ""The film is horrible and I cannot tell anything due to the poor quality"" I asked for a refund from Cypress Vet and they did not give it to me so I am spreading my experiences. FYI...they are not even AGGIES there even though they would lead you to believe so. I even asked, because AGGIES don't lie, cheat, or steal...nor tolerate those that do. My suggestion...do to an AGGIE vet or at least one that is honest. FYI...Dr. Caballero was the vet I dealt with...and we have been going there for several years. When my dog Triton got ran into by the truck and I saw his mutilated leg for the first time laying open with life's fluid pumping out of one of a minor arterie, I feared he would die very soon. Dr. Caballero's office is just a couple of minutes from my house, I pass it everyday going to work. We rushed my dog to the clinic there on Cypress N Houston and as I walked through the door I called to the nurse that he had a busted artery and she called the doctor to the surgery room. Dr. Caballero and his staff immediately went to work as we layed my boy on the table. They brought him out of shock, did a couple of test, and before perfoming surgery, the doctor seemed to think that we may need to amputate the leg. I told him that Triton was still moving his leg even after the accident, although it seemed impossible looking at it, and from there he promptly went into what must have been a 2 and a half hour surgery. When all was said and done the Doctor was extremely pleased with how the surgery came out. He was able to reconstruct the muscles with stitches, repair the damaged artery (I believe that's called a suture?), and apply all of his skin right back to where it should go with the use of staples. By the 2nd day after surgery I picked my boy up and he was putting more pressure than I could believe onto his leg, of course still limping, but he had use of his leg and even still.... he simply still had his leg. I would recommend Dr. Cabellero and his staff to anyone, especially someone needing a doctor who can think on his toes even when a hard situation is thrusted on him. As a footnote, during the 2 days Triton was at the clinic recovering from surgery, the staff made sure to give me calls for updates on Triton and I went up to the clinic to visit with him as well, and this did not seem to be a bother to the staff at all. My cat started to have seizures so I called this vet, whom I've never been to. They told me to bring him in right away.They took my cat straight to the back room and did everything possible to stop the seizures. The seizures wouldn't stop. {The staff comforted my sobbing son while I stayed with the cat.} We decided to leave the cat overnight for survival purposes. This incredible doctor called me @ 9.00 p.m from his office to let me know he went to humble to retrieve medicine for my cat .{The doc's office is in Cypress.} I picked up my cat the next day and wow the seizures have stopped. Brought my cat in a couple days later and Doc was amazed that the cat was in perfect condition. Doc said most cats more than likely would be blind or have neurological problems as my hours that he had seizures. This Doc told me my cat was a miracle! So if your looking for a vet to treat your animal as if it was one of the most important things ever this would be the vet for you!! This Doc and his staff are the ones who created a miracle for my son and I. I give him a 10 star rating! Read Less
