STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! Brought my kitty her because the office was close by and my she was very sick. She was vomiting uncontrollably, difficulty breathing and was having a hard time walking. The vet just gave her a shot for the nausea and told me her other symptoms were because she was tired from being sick! A few hours later I had to rush her to an emergency room where I was told she had likely been poisoned. She died a day later from kidney failure. I question, after reading other reviews, whether or not this guy is a competent veterinarian. Read Less

STAY AWAY OF THIS PLACE! They gave my 8 pounds puppy flea & worm medicine for a 25 to 40 pound dog! I went for the puppy shots pack that supposed to be less than $50.00 and I ended up more than $200.00!!! They gave me 'medicine' that they mixed right there in white bottles. I came home and google the meds names and guess what? The dog didn't even needed some of those 'meds' that they were charging me almost $50.00 per a bottle with drops for 3 days! When I noticed that my dog was almost dying with the medicines, I went to them to tell about the huge mistake THEY DID and they told me that I couldn't prove anything, even me showing the empty med bottles with my puppy's name dated two days before!! They wanted me to pay for them to treat her against the poison they caused! I wasn't even interested to let them treat my dog again!! The staff is very rude, the 'doctor' and his wife are even worst. I'm not even sure if this 'doctor' has a real license . A professional vet never would be like him. IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME TO TAKE THIS TO THE NEWS OR INVESTIGATE THIS PLACE DEEPER PLEASE DO!! THIS PRACTICE HAS TO END!! I WAS HORRIFIED WHEN I READ ALL THE HORRENDOUS REVIEWS OF THIS PLACE!!! I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!! IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, PLEASE, PLEASE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND CHECK THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR BABY IN THEIR HANDS!!!!! Read Less

I have read some of the reviews on FM 529 Animal Hospital and all I can say is that if you can diagnose your animal (which some have) then why take them to the vet. I was in dire straits when my cat was hurting and the vet I had wouldn't see him because it was the day before a holiday and he was letting his staff go early. The staff at FM 529 are friendly. The money up front isn't a bad thing. They need money in order to support their services. People who are responsible understand that vet services cost money, some people walk out on this bill. Thank you FM 529 Animal Hospital for saving my Logan and I will continue to recommend people to your clinic. Read Less

I don't even want to give any star but it won't allow me Back in April 2016, we took our black Labrador mix Mason to that clinic only because it was the only animal clinic with opening that day. Our dog was in pain and could possibly be suffering from cancer. After our lengthy description of our dog's symptoms, all the vet focused on was our dog's breath. Then he did a rectal exam which hurt the dog so much (the tumor was already visible from the rectum). The vet told us that our pet has a very large inoperable tumor and then rushed us to make a decision "right there and then" to put our dog down. I said I'll talk to the whole family first (to prepare). All the while, he did not show any compassion for our dog, nor empathy for our family. He was very impatient with us. I asked for a pain medicine to get us through the next day at least, and he prescribed Robaxin, a lousy muscle relaxant which cost us $70. So we took our dog later that week to Mayde Creek Animal Clinic where we normally take our pets. The service we received was superb (as always). Our dog was treated with kindness and dignity during his last moments. And I couldn't think of a better place to say goodbye to our beloved pet. Read Less

SCAMMED ME OUT OF MY MONEY Do NOT take your per there.. My dog was sick (vomiting and had diarrhea) for 3 days. He wouldn't eat or drink anything, so I called around to make a day-of appointment for him. They didn't tell me it was considered an emergency visit which instead of $60 it was $116 as soon as I walked in the door. There staff was not friendly and were rude to me. While the Doctor was examining my dog, he looked in his ears, mouth, took his temperature and felt his underbelly - that's it! He couldn't tell me what was wrong with my dog besides "he ate something outside". He's a dog he has been eating grass and things in the grass since he was 8 weeks.. He wanted to give me HIS dog food, antibiotics, anti vomiting medication (even though he hadn't thrown up in a couple of days) and some other medication.. I was confused why I needed all this for an UN-DIAGNOSED sickness.. It didn't make sense. So I had to sit back down in the waiting room for about 15 minutes (I was the only one in there) for the receptionist to finally get back to the front and ask for $162 for dog food and 2 medications that I didn't approve of.. I told her I will only take the Antibiotics. I had to wait another 10 minutes while she went in the back to "change" my order - she wasn't happy with that request.. The receptionist told me to give one antibiotic in the morning and one at night.. Well I did that.. The taped over label on the pill bottle said 1/2 pill per day!!! I COULD HAVE OVER DOSSED MY DOG, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T TELL ME THE PROPER INSTRUCTIONS!!! I have never left a vet visit crying before. I was looking to seek help from a "professional" and was given a garbage diagnosis. PLEASE save your MONEY and your TIME and NO NOT COME HERE!!! Read Less

I got my cat spayed here about a week ago. The day of surgery the doctor was over an hour late. Then a few days after surgery, She ended up with an infection and when my boyfriend took her up there, they charged him 65$ just to look at her incision and tried to sell us a 125$ antibiotic..!! I called and asked if they had a more affordable option and the receptionist Stephanie argued with me and was not helpful. She then offered me a 50$ antibiotic, then lowered the price to 30$. I asked if I could speak with the doctor and she said no he won't talk to you directly. Meanwhile my poor cats incision is swollen and red. Going to take her to another vet, but will first read reviews! Bottom line; do not go here unless you want to be overcharged and have terrible service for your pet.Read Less

I moved to another state and the state I moved to needs proof I had my dogs were fixed so I can register them. So I called 59 Vet clinic because I am not sure were I put this information, Plus it was 7 years ago. 59 Vet clinic: Sorry, we do not have long distance fax line. Me: Really?!?! Me: So can you scan and email it to me. 59 Vet clinic: I am not sure? Me: Okay, of course not. 59 Vet clinic: You have to fill out a release form before we can give you this information. Me:But I can verify who I am, but I have to jump hoops just to get the paper work. 59 Vet clinic: Its the law Me: Okay, but you cannot fax, and you don't know if you can scan, so how do you think would be the best route to get me this information? 59 Vet clinic: I am not sure, I would have to ponder that thought. Me: Just mail me the release? "This clinic is very expensive and they cannot fax me my information and they could not tell me if they could scan it to me? My information, because remember, I paid for this service,". I understand if I had to sign a release, but at least have a fast and easy way to get me the information. I bet, after I send in the release, they will tell me I have to pay for a copy of the paper work. I bet they have a credit card machine to charge me for it, but they cannot afford a long distance fax machine. My first experience is when I first moved to Katy and one of my cats had a puffy ear because he had scratched it. I was so worried because his ear was so swollen. So 59 vet clinic is closest and so I was new in Katy, I did not know any difference. He charged me $900 for the surgery and wanted me to bring my cat every 3 days so he can charge me for him to use his new tool on my cat. I had another cat that had the same problem a few years later. I took him to KAAWS. They told me my cat only needed pain medication, because the body would heal the ear. Me: No surgery? KAAWS: No. So I was taken advantage of by 59 Vet Clinic on a service I was charged $900, PLUS follow-up visits on a service that my cat did not even need. This is why as soon as KAAWS opened up, I took all my animals there as well as CrossRoads Vet clinic. You do not mess with people who have pets, because animal lovers, their pets are like their children. So people like 59 Vet clinic take advantage of people and the love they have for their animals. My advice, go a half a mile up and go to KAAWS or go a mile up and go to Crossroads. The best thing for this clinic to do is close its doors. Read Less

This veterinarian HATES ANIMALS. Someone left a very tiny puppy on the his doorstep overnight-- probably hoping to find some help and compassion. Well, this swarthy little troll decided to take the little cage down to the curb, open the door and let the baby dog wander into oncoming traffic on FM529! This caused several cars to lock their brakes to avoid hitting the little critter. I got out and rescued the terrified pup & brought him inside the business. Rightbon cue the vet comes running up and screams, "that's not my problem. You have to call animal control". I asked if he could help and the jerk doctor said "No, that's your problem". Late for work, I kindly told him to F*** OFF. Well this little middle eastern man flips out anf literally tries to fight me! WTF? As I walked in the door and filled out paperwork they charged my mom 65.00 before penny is even seen. Then they tell us, we need a leash on the dog. "Its state law you have to have a leash, its for the dogs safety" if you don't have one they do and they don't tell you up front that you will be charged for that leash as you leave. Next comes the muzzle. Yep! I said muzzle for a little dachshund. By this time the poor little dog was very stressed out. She pawed and clawed at the muzzle trying to get it off. She was brought in for what resembled a boil on her booty beside her tail. Which turned out to be a swollen anal gland which is common for the dachshund breed. It just needed to be drained and cleaned. However, this guy looked at her for all about 2 minutes and told me it was a tumor and needed to be biopsied and a whole gamut of diagnostics done on her including chest x rays at a cost of 2500.00. My mom was on the phone and was told that if she didn't have the money she could apply for credit online. They also asked repeatedly if I wanted to purchase pain pills for her. I told her no, mom said she already had some. They made us pay for the leash on our way out the door. My friend gave them 2.99 cash. Mom made it to the second vet and the anal sac ruptured in the waiting room. The second vet was wonderful she did not leash or muzzle her and took very good care of her. She is doing better and healing nicely. No thanks to the fm 529 animal hospital vet. If he had treated her properly there would have been no need to take her to a different vet. The only way to post this review to tell people what happened to me is to give a star. All of these statements are true. I have a witness to prove it. I also have paperwork from the vet who treated her to prove the misdiagnosis. Read Less

I gave it another month, and they just try to find ways to make money like cutting the tail, offering every quarter check ups ... Telling me my puppy have hernia. Finally on the 3rd month - I changed vet, I asked for my puppies records and once again they charged me $50 for both... I told the lady that I was suppose to fet thise records anyway, she insist that she gave me . When she opened the file, it was there and ahe still charged me .... There a money grab they didn't even remember who I was the vet started yelling at me about was I mad because I had to put my dog on a leash the day before and it wasn't even me who he was speaking about so they don't even remember who you are. Worst place to bring your dog in the City of Houston. They will try to scam you out of whatever they can they don't care about treating their dogs they don't care about keeping relationships I've been bringing my dogs to this but for over 7 years in these people treated me this way it is uncalled for and disgusting! This vet clinic is run by the worst human being I have ever met. He was rude, wouldn't even come out from behind his counter to look at the poor suffering dog. I happened upon an injured dog on 529 today. The dog was hit by a car and still alive but obviously suffering. A gentleman from the welding shop placed the animal in his truck and drove him to FM 529 Animal Hospital. We just asked if he could help this dog and he instantly said take this trash out, who is going to pay for this, I run a business. He cursed at me, belittled me, and never even asked about the dog I offered to pay to put the dog down and he said it would cost me $450 (baloney!) I do not even have enough room to explain how horrible this experience was. I usually do not believe in doing things like this, but this man should not be in the business of taking care of animals. DON'T GO HERE!!!!!!!! I brought my 11 year old dog here because he had all the signs and symptoms of congestive heart failure. I was initially caught off guard that I had to pre-pay for an exam. I told the receptionist that I came in because I thought my dog had CHF, so I'm sure I will have to pay for medicine later. I didn't understand why I needed to pay first rather than paying for the entire bill at the end. After the exam he suggested x-rays for another $300 which I again had to go up to the front and pay for before he would complete them. He completed the x-ray and showed me the images of my dog’s enlarged heart and lungs, and excess fluid in his belly. Still, he suggested more treatment, such as a heart worm test, saying the heart and lung condition could be unrelated. I told him I am very knowledgeable about congestive heart failure and I know that the swollen lungs is from the blood pooling back into them because the heart isn't pumping efficiently. He said that "could be a possibility", and said he would prescribe an antibiotic and something to get rid of the fluid. I asked if he was prescribing Lasix, a diuretic, and he said yes. I told him it was the same thing as what humans take, and I could get it filled much cheaper at Walgreens if he would write the prescriptions for it and the Cephalexin. He claimed to be unsure if it was the same drug. (I am a pharmacy graduate, so if I know what congestive heart failure looks like and that the medicines were human medicines he should definitely have known). He wanted to charge me $47 for each medicine and it was only a 7 day supply. I could have paid 1/3 of the cost at Walgreens. I called Walgreens while I was in his office to ask the price for the two medicines. The Pharmacist on duty told me to tell him to write for 25mg of Lasix because it did not come in 12.5mg for humans, which I could break the scored pill in half to create a 12.5mg twice a day dose. He refused to write for 1/2 pill twice a day, saying it was against the law. I might have fallen for this if I was not familiar with pharmacy and prescription law. Furthermore he said he charges $15 dollars per prescription to write it if he doesn't fill it in his office. By the time I left out of there I paid $442 (swiping my card 3 times throughout the visit) for him to not even admit to the fact that my dog has CHF. Additionally, when I asked for the radiology report and x-rays I was told that will be a $15 fee for giving them to me. Needless to say I will get my report and x-rays tomorrow and I will not be back!!!! This Vet is only concerned about money. Read Less

After moving here from Florida and leaving our beloved vet of 20 years, we brought our dog here who was losing weight for no obvious reason. After having to sign a dozen "release forms" for things like "has your dog ever bit someone" and promising to pay, etc. The vet did a quick exam and I agreed to have my dog's blood drawn because I'm a nurse and knew it must be something metabolic. Well, $290.50 later, after getting back the test results, the vet said he thinks our dog had either leukemia or a lymphoma and wanted to start by doing several X-rays that would cost over $500. I KNOW that X-rays will usually not pick up a soft tissue tumor and that he was wasting mine and my dog's time. The front staff was not very sympathetic and after finding out it was his wife, I could see that all they were really concerned about was my $$$.I found another vet soon after that who I'm very pleased with. (Blackhorse Animal Hospital).Coincidentally, I was driving down 529 yesterday and saw 2 dogs at the end of their driveway, way too close to the busy road. I pulled in and the dogs ran under the deck. I went inside to ask if maybe they escaped from the kennels. The receptionist told me "no, the kennels are secure" and showed no concern that these dogs might get hit by a car if left out there, and said all they could do was call animal control and that they could not be responsible. I told her that I would be responsible if they could help me catch them! she said they couldn't, so I walked out and easily got the 2 sweet pups in my car. I quickly remembered why we have not brought our own FOUR DOGS' business there. How can you work at a vet and not have concern for an animal? Read Less

I took my German Shepherd to this clinic when he got some ear infection. I had $100 I could spend for it and when I called the clinic it seemed like it should be enough because the office visit was only $25. From my previous experience with our regular veterinarian I knew the ear meds were around $20 and it looked like my dog had the same kind of problem again. Ok, the 529 clinic looked spooky and my dog was the only patient. With some fees $25 turned into $35. The doctor examined my dog and told me he had some ear infection and that my dog had a high fever (I was very surprised because he was not any warmer than usual and was playful and ate well) and said he needs to run a few tests and estimated it with meds as around $200. I told him all I had left after paying for his office visit was $65 and asked him if he can tell what kind of infection it is. The Dr said nobody can tell like this what kind it is. And since I didn't have the money he wanted he told us goodbye and left my dog untreated and of course my $35 was gone. Next week I took my dog to his regular vet, it s a longer drive from me but I learnt it s so much worth it! They didn't need to do any tests. The doctor looked in his ears with a special tool and told me right away it was yeast infection. He gave my dog shots and we left the clinic with plenty of meds to treat the infection. This all cost me under $100 including the office visit!!! And I am sure if I didn't have the moneythey d let me pay back but would help my dog. Because they care about animals there and just about dollars. So, if u don't want to waste your money and deal with unprofessional Dr who doesn't care about your pet, choose about any other vet clinic. Read Less

DO NOT FALL PREY TO THESE VULTURES! At first, I was pleased with the examination of my new puppy and the prices of the service I received 4 weeks ago. On the first visit, the vet told me my puppy had both round worm and hook worm and offered one fix-it-all pill for $20 and another medicine that was way out of my price range. I was given a stern talking about how important it is to act now to prevent later. I told him that the owner of the puppy had given her a de-wormer and flea medicine a week before I picked her up. Since she had already had her de-wormer given one week prior, I didn't want to give her anything else for fear it would cause a side-effect. He insisted that if a vet didn’t give her the medicine, it didn’t count. I then doubted what the vet said he saw, as I had not seen any worms in her poo and haven't seen any in the last 4 weeks that I've had it. Today, I took her back for her second exam and set of shots. He didn't examine her at all. The nurse took her weight and temperature then he came in and gave her the shots and walked out of the room. He didn't ask me questions or ask if I had any concerns or questions. So, I asked the nurse if I could speak to the vet really quickly. I asked if he could check her again for worms before I gave her anything else. At this point he became agitated and snapped at me. He raised his voice telling me that he wasn't going to waste his time testing if I wasn't going to buy the de-wormer from him. I was caught completely off guard! I asked if I could come back for her last set of shots in a month and get a prescription for the 3 in 1 worm, tick, and flea chewable. He declined and said he wouldn't help anyone that didn't buy the medicine he offered. Now, I don't know what vet's make and I am far from an expert on that kind of work but I think this guy was completely out-of-line and his primary focus was on the green dollar and not the health of my puppy. If he doesn't want to help people that can't afford his overpriced worm medicines and at least bring him business by getting their shots, then I have no desire to take my puppy there again. Sadly, he just lost out an opportunity for another set of shots, rabies shot, and spay. I'll take my business elsewhere, find a vet that will treat me like a human being and give me the prescription I need to make sure I have a healthy animal. There was no need for his tantrum. I now firmly believe this place is a fraud and shouldn't be caring for pets. Read Less

I took my dog to be kennelled at 529 Animal clinic. When I took him he had loose stool, so Dr. Ansari examined him and told me he had worms. They gave him medicine & a special diet. When I picked him up I was told he was fine & no longer had loose stool. Of course, I take him home, and he still had loose stool. I called the clinic & was told to bring in a sample & they would test it again. I had to call several times for the results & was told Dr. Ansari was very busy, mind you my dog now had loose stool for an entire week! Due to the lack of concern & abruptness on his part, I took my dog to his regular veterinarian who has since fixed the problem immediately after taking him. I called 529 Animal hospital to get records of the recent shots Bordatella & Parvo they gave him and was told they were not allowed to fax records out, funny because they took my dogs records through fax when they needed them. I arranged for a friend to pick up the records with an official records release form & they refused to give them to her. I could here Dr. Ansari saying he would not release the records to her & no intentions of releasing them to me either. I asked to speak with him and he would not get on the phone. Bottom line is this. He is rude, ignorant, careless, and if you want copies of records for whatever reason, he will refuse. If he cared about my dog he would give the shot records so my dog won't have to get the same two shots that are needed every 6 mos. to a year. What he is doing is unethical and illegal! Read Less

STAY AWAY!

Read Less

This vet clinic is run by the worst human being I have ever met. He was rude, wouldn't even come out from behind his counter to look at the poor suffering dog. I happened upon an injured dog on 529 today. The dog was hit by a car and still alive but obviously suffering. We just asked if he could help this dog and he instantly said take this trash out, who is going to pay for this, I run a business. He cursed at me, belittled me, and never even asked about the dog I offered to pay to put the dog down and he said it would cost me $450 (baloney!) DON'T GO HERE!!!!!!!!

Read Less
