We brought our dogs here today. We received a call informing us our dog was limping and asked if they could treat her. After posting my more questions, the staff said they didn't know what happened. Then, we got another call saying she needs to sedated. Then, we get a call saying she needs an x-ray and the cost would be over $350. I then call this place back and am informed that my dog was attacked, it's on video, and she is STILL sedated. This place clearly has no supe...rvision, as one or more dogs brutally attacking my dog did not cause anyone to notice. My dog was severely bitten. They claim they supervise the dogs 100% of the time, yet an employee was on his cell phone when we dropped off our dog. Plus, how can a dog attack occur and end, leaving my dog on the ground, and nobody notice until she wakes up and tries to walk!?!? If you love your pet, keep it far far away from this place. The doctors and staff are professional yet kind. Very compassionate people working for our fur babies! We adopted our lab-mix from East Lake Pet Orphanage, on-site rescues have been vetted and trained prior to adoption. Adopters are screened for a good match. We now have 4 rescues and they all get their veterinarian care at East Lake! Read Less

I rescued a sweet little dog from there and paid $165 for her and then when I call to have the rest of her shots done, they told me it would be another $200 which is outrageous!! I mean, what was the hundred and $165 for besides neutering her? That's only one third of that. Read Less

Have adopted two lady dogs from them. In all ways they have been the best things for the dogs. Our most recent was heartwork positive and they have treated her as if she was their own child. I can't say more for the quality of care and the love they have given her. And because they accepted her from a kill facility, they have enriched not only her life but that of our family as well. This vet clinic gets my 5 stars for several reasons. 1. Their hours - open early and stay open late until 9. 2. Everyone knows me and my pup; we're greeted by name. 3. Staff and doctors make sure I am well informed by taking the time to explain everything. I have never felt stupid asking any questions. 4. Doggie Day Camp. There's a pool and my pup loves it. We live 30 minutes outside of Dallas and always make the trip to this clinic for all of our vet and grooming services! Dr. Fling leads a great team at this vet clinic and pet adoption center! Dr. Deason is so understanding and patient with my dog who puts up a fight and really doesn't like going in for his yearly appointments. And Juan is the best tech and nail clipper there- he has a special touch because my dog won't let anyone else clip his nails. This group has and shows a special love to orphan pets by hosting fundraisers every year that save the lives of so many needy pets. Shelley is very rude.  When I called to see if I can bring my dog for an emergency visit her response lacked any kind of empathy and as a flat "our vets are fully committed tonight". What does that even mean? What a snobby jargon response to give a pet owner that is basically the reason you have a job. She never bothered to ask what the emergency was for or offer any kind of alternative. Just uttered that rude meaningless phrase and sat on the phone silently. Love East Lake Vet Hospital! Moved to Rockwall and will continue to come to Dallas to bring our pets to East Lake! They truly care about our pets, nearly as much as we do. :-) I have a Maine Coon that gets matted and won't let us brush him. To groom him, East Lake allows me to have him sedated for the process. East lake is a great place to take your pet for day camp, boarding, or for a visit to the vet. Our dog is always well taken care of here, and she seems to be very comfortable with the staff. I can't say enough good things about this vet clinic or its staff. They understand that my pets aren't just "dogs" but are part of my family. No matter what I call about, the staff and nurses are incredibly responsive and answer my concerns promptly and clearly. I also appreciate their extended hours and availability - whether I call at 7 a.m. or 7 p.m., they are there. Also, Dr. O'Halloran is simply the best - so compassionate and thorough and always makes sure I am comfortable with the recommended treatment plan. This place is money driven with a very incompetent staff. It took over two weeks for the doctor to return my phone calls in regards to my dogs lab results. Upon my first visit, the doctor informed me that she felt quite sure my dog had cancer and then ran numerous extensive labs on my dog to confirm. I had to call numerous times to get results and was able to speak to no one. Finally, after two weeks, I spoke to someone who told confirmed cancer. Really? They don't care enough to return calls to let you know that your dog in fact has cancer. Thanks...after over $600 later. Please go elsewhere for your pet's care! Read Less

They love your pets and treat them as family. They took care of our dog that we adopted from them for 2.5 years, and we never had an even slightly bad experience. They also try to take in an many pets as they can, and ensure that those pets go to safe and secure homes. If we were still in Dallas, we would still be trusting them to take care of our amazing dog! I have been using East Lake on and off for the last 2-3 years. During this time the staff has lost my dogs toys, leashes, food that was not consumed and they would forget requested services. This past Tuesday one of my dogs went to day camp for a half day and was charged in the $13 range as was quoted by their staff. Now today for another half day and was charged $23. This is typical of their mentality. Another irritation is when you call, more often than not, your put on hold for extended periods of time. Yes, ALMOST EVERY TIME ! The reason I gave then TWO stars is because the Vet my dogs see was very nice and thorough. That Vet is now gone. (Wonder Why ? - Ha Ha) Good luck if you use this facility as I hope you don't have my problems.Read Less

We took a wounded bird with a cut wing to East Lake just so they could take our donation and euthanize it an hour later without calling us. Even though we gave them our number to keep us updated, we were the ones who had to call them and find out they had already killed the bird because it's condition was supposedely too bad. Not sure how a cut wing was so bad you had to euthenize the bird. Not only that, but they tell you that "Roger's Wildlife Rehabilitation" comes to pick up birds everyday from there to rehabilitate them. However, when we called Rogers, they told us they in fact do not pick up from there, and they don't know why East Lake keeps telling people that. We found a stray dog and brought him to East Lake to see if he had a microchip. Unfortunately, he did not, and we found a temporary foster home for him, but the staff at East Lake were so kind and caring towards us. They helped us so much today and we're so thankful! I have used East Lake for 11 years for our two dogs, everything from boarding to surgery to shots and annual checkups. Positive: the vets are good and they seem to really care about the animals Con: pricey - others have mentioned the medication thing, but what got me was all the optional tests they try to sell. That is fine they try to sell it, but my wife declined optional lab work for our dogs, the paperwork reflected her opt-out and they performed the work anyway. My wife realized this after paying the extra $100 for the lab work and called to have them refund the money. They refused saying we should have told them before they sent the blood to the lab. This wasn't our mistake. In any case this is the last $ they will ever get from us :-( Bottom line, if you can afford it and want all the extras by all means its a good vet hospital. I want to say how sweet she was with him. She and her staff attempted a kennel cough swab on Jake, but he was very nervous and didn't want any part of. Rather than forcing it, she suggested coming back to try again, if he was still having the symptoms. Her concern for his well being and comfort level, and ensuring that his visit was stress free, LITERALLY brought me to tears. Thank you Dr. Simmons for your compassion and caring. Our beloved Airedale was diagnosed with cancer and died in 2 weeks short weeks. Last Friday When she took her last breathe, I called East lake and the person I spoke to assure me she would notify staff to expect her as soon as they opened. Dr K herself meet me with a big hug and then took care of Maddie. We decided to cremate her and was promptly notified of the ashes return. It was my first good day so I went to our sweet dogs remains home. The front desk worker asked how could she help me. I open my mouth to speak - nothing - just tears. I could compose myself to whisper my purpose. With kindness and compassion she brought me the package. What a wonderful remembrance we have! best orthopedic surgeon veterinarian in Texas!!! Literally saw 5 other vets prior to Dr. Mountain, and all claimed my only solution was to put my chihuahua to sleep.... Dr. Mountain was the only one who gave my husband and I hope..... Our little angel's surgery was over 3 years ago, and he continues to do wonderfully!!!!
