This place is wonderful! A friend of mine has a neurotic Quaker and needed to see the vet. She took him in on a Tuesday and discussed the care with the doctor. There was no charge for the visit, how nice is that? I bought a fabulous quality collar for my sweet pupper while I was there for $8. You can't even get that at a petstore! We returned a week later for a recheck and again, no office visit payment. This office is truly in business for the animals! I am not even a customer and they answered questions about pet food! Our 16 year old poodle has been a patient of Dr Schumacher's since we rescued her 13 years ago. She and our other two poodles have enjoyed great service from this clinic, including fabulous grooming. Recently Indie's kidneys were not functioning. Thanks to the very diligent care of Dr Schumacher, Rebecca and the whole vet team, Indie is in recovery mode now. Dr S "doctored" her over the Easter holiday and gave us daily reports on her progress. He watched her over the whole weekend as she received IV treatment, labs and antibiotics. He was very encouraging about her progress but honest. Never once did he suggest that she be put to sleep, even though she is 16. We are so appreciative of their care and recommend them highly. We have actually been patients of this team for over 30 years and they have helped us with ALL our pets. We just can't say enough wonderful words about them! Read Less

I love this veterinary clinic. First of all, the staff is very professional and caring and so is Dr.Schumacher and the other vet (I forget her name). I have three small dogs and they are all very comfortable here and the vet tech's are so good with them. Recently, I took two of the three for grooming services and I have to say that they went above and beyond to make them look, smell and feel great. When I picked them up, they were not jittery or acting scared like they have when I took them to other grooming places in the past. I will always refer my family and friends to Green briar. Read Less

Let me first start by saying I think this doctor is courteous and is a solid vet. The groomer Lorrie does an excellent job and is great with animals. The front desk staff however are rude, poorly organized, unknowledgeable of products and services and come across as uncaring. I have used this vet over the years as they are close to my home, however I would not recommend it to anyone due to to headache and frustration. I scheduled to have my dog groomed in October and was told to bring her in on the following Friday. I went to drop the dog off on my way to work only to be told the groomer was out and didn't work on Fridays anyway. I asked the receptionist to confirm the books and was informed the appointment was for the following Friday and I had the wrong week. But according to the receptionist the groomer didn't work on Friday? How is this so? I had to take the dog back home due to the receptionist mistake and was late to work. I returned the following week and upon arriving was told they could not take the dog as their records indicated she was not current on all of her shots. There was no call prior to arriving to let me know updated records were needed nor was this mentioned when I made the appointment. Whenever I take her to the boarder they have always let me know ahead of time. Not at Greenbriar. Again inconveniced, I left and was able to obtain the records and have them emailed over for verification. As a pet owner it is the little things that make such a big difference but that can also make the whole situation a complete negative. I am thankful my dog was well treated each time there was an illness. Today when I took the dog for a grooming and minor exam I never received any follow up or phone call to let me know she was ready for pick up. I didn't know if she would need to stay for observation or if additional treatment was needed. I called to inquire and was told by Crystal (very rude) that I could find out when I arrived. I asked if she could give me a summary and was told "I don't know". Completely unhelpful. I would not recommend this place. Fortunately I got several good recommendations about local vets by asking my neighbors in the Nextdoor app. They too shared similar bad experience about Greenbriar. Sad as I thought Dr. Schumacher was a good vet. Read Less

We took our little pup to stay with them for about 4 days. You can imagine as puppy parents you are already hesitant to let anyone else take care of your baby. You know what they need, want and how to make them happy. Welp. Thinking of all the reviews from many different places, I thought to weigh my food, count my treats and buy her a brand new toy. Keep in mind, I know how she plays with certain toys so I took this one in particular because I know what it should look like when I pick her up provided it was given to her to play with. The day came from us to pick her up. I was astonished and VERY disappointed to count all treats in the bag, there was no difference in weight from the food and guess what... her toy was manipulated but not how she plays with it. My dog is like clock work, I can give her the same brand new toy and I know what she does with each time. Someone tried to make it seem like she played with it when I know she didnt. I almost should I have it was going to go down hill when we checked her in and the front desk person was clueless. She told me I needed X,Y,Z and needed to get certain shot to let her stay. When I asked what that was she said verbatim: "I dont know!". I asked her to go find out. When we picked her up the same woman was there and still seemed as clueless as ever, didnt know how much ANYTHING was or why it was/wasnt done. To even more concern, we picked her up and she had a bottom that was raw, swollen and kept rubbing it on the ground. Not cool. How is it that we pick our baby up from her Vet (mind you we have only had to use them once) and the Vet (or boarding folks) doesn't even take care of her correctly. Note we also has called while we were there. I specifically said I want her to eat her own food and treats, hell I wouldn't have minded if they shared her goodies with others. They told me she was eating well and happy. Really! I dont believe that for a second. Once we picked her up she was sucking down water like she had not had any in days. She had so much pent up energy, I am sure they were not taking her out for her "exercise time". Needless to say, I will not be taking her back here for boarding or any vet service. I would NEVER recommend these folks EVER. I will choose to take her somewhere else where they can treat her with as much love and affection as we do. Read Less

I use this place for grooming only, and not that I would switch from my vet 20 minutes away because he's fantastic over this place which is a just around the corner, but after my experiences here I will not be returning again. First and foremost, just because you are the receptionist does not mean you are always right. I brought my Dad's dog in along with my dog the last time I was in and had her vet records faxed over from out of town. Her rabies tag was on her collar. They called me saying that she was due for rabies and they were going to give her a shot. I said no, it's already been done and the vet where they live uses the 3 year vaccine. All other shots are current so please don't give her the shot. They refused to listen and I had to go pick up both dogs. This was at the end of the day, after she had already been groomed and there was not a problem with her until it's time to pay and check out? The receptionist at the front was argumentative and rude. I loved the groomer so I decided to take my dog back. I had just taken him in for a check up at our regular vet and they gave him a bordatella shot because their records showed it were due. When I brought him in this morning I went to show proof of his vaccine so I didn't have to go through this again. Apparently I am required the share my records with them from my vet, but they do not do the same. They gave my dog a bordatella vaccine already and now he wasn't due until April, but when they gave it to him they do not fax my vet the records to let them know. So I am over-vaccinating my 12 year old pet and paying for it each time. Ridiculous. When I asked her why they didn't share the records she claims they don't know who my vet is. Well, clearly it's written on the top of the shot records faxed to you that should be in his file, in addition to the ones I bring you. She's smug, arrogant, rude, and argumentative. I cannot stand going into the office and seeing her behind the front desk. I will definitely not be returning. As much as I love the grooming services, my dogs shouldn't be used for financial gain for vaccines and other items they don't need from the veterinary side of the office. When I tried to show her the record of the most current vaccines she didn't even copy it or write it down, so I can only imagine that if I did come back again he would receive another round of bordatella due to the fact she just wanted to argue with me about not having the information for my vet to send the records to and refused to look at the record. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Nobody in the office seems to care if you try to talk to them. I'm sure I'll find another groomer, but how unfortunate for them to lose business for something so childish as a receptionist always having to be right. UPDATE I went to pick up my cocker spaniel today and his haircut from the new groomer was completely butchered. I asked for a shorter cocker cut with a tunnel for the underside and I picked up a dog that was completely shaved for no reason. No phone call, nothing. And I had to ASK for a refund. Dr. Shumaker does not even listen when you have a complaint, which is the reason he got this review. Never Never Never take your pets here. Read Less

It started as a good experience.. The front desk staff was so pleasant. I took my dog because he was really sick... (Lethargic). I left my dog there to be treated and when I returned I was told it look like marijuana intoxication.. I was floored I dont have marijuana in or around my house so I told him I know its not that what else can it be.. he mentioned rat poison. I told him I have D-Con in the garage and my dog was in the garage that night while I was taking things from the car to the house.. So here I am thinking he would do bloodwork to eleminate the marijuana thought and do the labs for the D-Con rat poison.. instead he added to my baby records "look like marijuana intoxication but unknown source... no labs was done to exclude it nothing mentioned about the D-Con he was notified of and when I complained all he could say was...that's the same symptoms we see in alot of dogs that we treat.. My dog is not other Dogs and I am not their owner...then he proceeded to say he didnt test him because the blood work comes back negiative when its positive... if that was the case do the labs for the D-Con rat poison...im upset he doesnt undertstand why im upset... I told him what if I put that type of informaton in your medical records...the least you could have done was test him to exclude it from your thought process..I had already paid $190.00 for labwork why not include it... how many dogs have he diagnosis like this ..the way he make it sound ALOT...it's not fair and I would not want that on my file or my kids file or my dogs file.. where is the justice..Soooo Upset!!!!!
