Honest, fantastic vet. Won't pressure you into unnecessary treatments just because they are expensive. They'll do what it takes to take care of your pets, but they'll be up front about the costs and they give you all your options. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. Had my previous vet for 28 years and then moved to Midway Hollow and thank God I found Dr Carroll.  Professional staff, reasonable price, very good treating my animals. I don't have to wait long when I have an appt.   Dr. Carroll every now and then will even throw out a little joke which is refreshing to see he is a real person too.  I am still getting to know him but like him and his staff very much. He has a difficult job trying to save all of our pets lives. Just remember he can not save them all and he has the knowledge to if he can but sometimes it is ultimately  not he who decides but God.  One day I told Dr Carroll he does an amazing job and everyone on Nextdoor says so many great things about him. He said he doesn't even read it because he doesn't want to read the bad. There is no bad. Everyone please make a point to let Dr Carroll and his staff know how amazing they are for the job the do every day. My heart would not let me have that kind of job. I changed vets after 17 years of going to the same one who eventually retired and sold his practice. I actually prefer Dr. Carroll now for our two dogs. A few months ago, he intentionally removed only one tooth from my chihuahua, hoping to save the other one, and told me that if it didn't work to bring my dog back in within 6 months and he'd remove it for free. Unfortunately the infection did end up growing and another extraction on my 11yr old dog was necessary. He honored the deal and did the next surgery at no cost. I was shocked to not even be charged for anesthesia. I've been to the clinic a total of five times now, and fully appreciate the time he spends, the care and humor he provides, and the VERY reasonable cost. I have been taking my pets to Midway Hollow Pet Clinic for over 19 years.  My oldest living pet, Kiwi, is 19 years and 10 months. Kiwi the cat started seeing Dr. Carroll when she was 9 weeks old. I currently have a dog and 2 cats.  Dr. Carroll is kind, funny and good at what he does. He doesn't try and push expensive test that accomplish nothing for your pet's care or welfare.  He is honest in his approach and expected outcome.   The staff is always helpful and friendly. My Lab has been taken care of by Dr Carroll for almost ten years. Good vet.  Good office. Way more reasonable price than 90% of other vet offices. They Don't add extras like a lot of vet offices. No frills place which is what I like. I'm usually seen before my actual appt time and back in my car in 10-15 min from walking in the front door! If I have specific questions - they're always addressed. I've recommended this office to many. Staff is very professional and friendly. Vets are thorough and show general care and concern for our pets well being. Many times they have provided additional services at no charge simply to further help the comfort of our dogs. They are also the only fairly priced practice we've EVER been to. I'm a proud owner of a beautiful 7yr old pit-bull mix named Cowboy Buddy Howell (in short Buddy). He use to be a patient at an animal hospital (unnamed) in Lewisville Tx. At first it was great but then I soon realized Buddy was being examined for unnecessary things, and just to see his vet was 70.00$ plus the exams, and necessary medications. So my bill was usually a range of 200$-600$. Buddy is my fur child so he's worth any price. Once I moved to Las Colinas Tx, I was open to introduce Buddy to a new vet, but wasn't searching. Faith had it that buddy broke out and our local PetCo groomer suggested Midway Hollow Pet Clinic with Dr. P. Carroll, "he's not in it for the money" she stated. I booked an appointment the next day and Dr. Paul examined Buddy head to tail, explained what was occurring, prescribed medications and natural home remedies. I was only charged a 30$ visit with a 10$ antibiotic. I couldn't believe we had a great experience with a cheap bill. Dr. Paul has been Buddy's vet ever since our first visit. The girls at the front desk are super friendly and love Buddy. If your looking for a vet who isn't in it for the money then Dr. Paul is who your looking for! Pretty disappointed. I have been a MHPC customer for years and have taken all my dogs since they were puppies. During the weekend my dog hurt one of his paws and was clearly in pain. I asked if they could prescribe pain medication but was told they would need to see the dog (totally understandable) Well, my dog wouldn't eat and seemed to be in a much worse pain than before. I called the office and was told the earliest appointment was going to be 3 hours later. I asked if they could please squeeze me in since my dog was on pain. They refused and told me there was nothing they could do because they were booked and the vet wasn't available until my given appointment time. I don't believe it, they just didn't want to get me in and that's fine, is their business and their policies. When I told them I would take my business elsewhere they simply said "oh ok". I was pretty happy with this clinic but I can no longer give my business to a clinic that doesn't regard for a dog on pain. Read Less

We were introduced to Dr. Carroll through the dog rescue group we were working with.  Because he is willing to work with the rescue group and provide discounted pricing, we decided to keep our business with him after we adopted two of the fosters.  We don't live close by but this vet makes the drive worthwhile. Not only do they try not to rape you with their pricing, but they don't tack on unnecessary procedures or tests. And anytime I have questions for the doc and request a call back, he is very responsive and makes every effort to help your pet over the phone rather than require you to come into the office if it's not necessary. I am very happy I came to this animal clinic! I have received nothing but good feedback from the staff, the vet assistant, and the veterinarian. What I am extremely thankful about is that earlier this year my cat had a really bad teeth problem. It was so bad that saliva would fall from the sides and her tongue would sticking out and she would bite her tongue to help with pain. I had gone to another vet clinic before and they were going to charge me $3,000 to get all the teeth removed. Of course at the time I could not afford that amount so my cat was on pain medicine. I recently started going to this pet clinic because of the reviews and because they show that they really care based on the feedback people were giving. I told the veterinarian (Dr Carroll) about the issue with my cats teeth. I wanted my cat to get on pain medicine again to help with the teeth pain. Dr Carroll asked to look into getting the teeth pulled. I explained that I did not have 3k to spend on the procedure and I wasn't comfortable with my cat loosing all her teeth. Dr Carroll was shocked to find out that some other vet clinic was charging that much. He looked into the problem and he told me to have dental work HERE it would cost $185 and could be done in a day. Dr Carroll also explained that his assistant and himself will be doing the procedure. He introduced me to the assistant as well, which I found extremely polite of him. He also explained that not all teeth had to be removed because not all the teeth were damaged. I honestly could not believe it! I immediately scheduled an appointment with them. Afterwards, I noticed a HUGE difference in my cats attitude. She used to hide all the time before and now she's always seeking attention. No tongue sticking out, no biting, and no saliva. I have been with Dr Carroll and Midway Hollow for 5.5-6 years now after switching Dr. s for my dogs. I have found the Staff, doctors and facilities to be top notch. It is a true Vet not some over priced BS place that over charges and gives great people service and didn't know crap about my dogs and then all my family switched !!!! If you want a Dr with great service for you pet , fair prices and will bend over to help this is your place ! Not only has Dr. Carroll become our Dr but our friend as well as the entire staff !!!! I contacted Dr. Paul Carroll and Angelica when and I realized I needed to be in a more medically driven type facility and at a difficult time, and late in the game so to speak. When my girl had a cantalope size abcess a Dr. was telling me I could get an appointment in 2 weeks. I was devastated by the ongoing disconnect of how fast and wrong this situation could turn. There were turning on the sweet talk all the time my girl was getting sicker. I contacted Dr. Carroll's office who promptly sifted through the facts, important details, and got my girl help. It was like day and night compared to prior care. The approach at Midway Hollow is a sophisticated awareness of situations that comes from having a solid medical background and responding ethically and timely. I have been going to Midway Hollow for 7 years, but I will never go back after my recent visit. My dog, Louie usually sees the other Doctor; however, she recently left the practice and moved out of state. Louie had several lumps removed last week and Dr. Carroll insisted I stay until Louie was anesthetized. I thought it was odd, but I didn't think too much of it. Today was staple removal day. Because they forgot to cut his nails back last week, they told me they were planning to put him under today to remove his staples and cut his nails back. I scheduled a drop off for this morning. When I arrived to drop him off, I was told that I would have to stay until Louie was anesthetized again. They weren't able to do this for another hour, so they put me in an exam room so I could work and wait. Poor Louie did not understand what was going on. When Dr. Carroll entered the exam room, he flattened himself against the door and asked me to muzzle Louie. Louie was wagging his tail and giving kisses to the Vet Tech. I typically muzzle Louie DURING the exam because he is scared of the motorized lifting stainless steel exam table. They went ahead and anesthetized Louie and I asked what time I should pick him up. Dr. Carroll said he needed to be picked up no later than 11:30 because he couldn't go to the kennels in the back. I asked the Vet Tech if something had happened the last time Louie had surgery to make Dr. Carroll so afraid of him, and she said no. She said Louie always behaves. She said Dr. Carroll is just afraid of Pit Bulls. Seriously!! Louie hasn't done anything wrong! When I came to pick him up, he was alone, laying on a towel on the floor in an exam room. He couldn't walk because he was barely waking up. We had to carry poor Louie to the car and he howled the whole way home. I'm so upset that Louie was treated differently just because of his breed. He has never snapped at Dr Carroll or any of his staff. I don't understand why he isn't allowed to stay in the kennels. He did last week, and many other times....without incident. If Dr. Carroll is truly afraid of Pit Bulls, he just shouldn't treat them. His behavior was completely unprofessional. On top of all this, when I called to get the pathology results, Dr Carroll told me that he forgot to send it off He apologized for the mistake, but that doesn't change anthing about the way we were treated or the fact that Louie had surgery so we could test the lumps to see if they were cancerous. Dr. Carroll and his staff are absolutely wonderful. They all strive to make your pet's experience while at the vet, positive and minimally invasive. The care and compassion, and the instruction they have to share is unsurpassed by most pet care givers. They focus on the 'whole' family, your pet, first and foremost, but you as well. Dr. Carroll and staff, actually give you the time of day, because they really care about quality and compassionate care. During the time I've come to be associated with them for just over six years, they've helped us with regular healthcare and referrals when needed. I appreciate them so much that during the past couple of Holidays, put them on our Christmas list and treated the whole office to lunch, to show our gratitude for their ever consistent care for our pets. Today, I'll see them as we take our beloved male border terrier, Woody to them to be cremated and I know they will, as always be there for us. We moved four years ago and remained loyal clients, because their level of care is so superior. We can't think of anything more we'd want from our pet clinic than what we've received and will continue to in the future with our other little female border terrier. Dr, Carroll, on behalf of Annie & Woody whom you took such great care of that their lives were long and full and also from Colin and I and little Nelly who you'll likely see again with some sort of well check or otherwise, we can't find words to reflect our gratitude that you make them(dogs) and us feel as if we are getting the best there is to offer. WORST Customer Service EVER! Dr. Carroll could be a good doctor, but I never even got to meet him when I recently had my puppy neutered at MHPC. The front desk staff lost all my original file documents, including from my breeder, and offered absolutely NO apology...they suggested that I (!) just go to my breeder and try to get new ones. When I picked my puppy up post-surgery he was brought to me in arms before I even had a chance to pay, making it extremely difficult to deal with him and pay out. There were no instructions, not vet consultation, etc. The front desk' bad attitude was shocking...I can't believe they get away with this in any neighborhood, especially one that services the park cities area where pet owners are even more demanding of high standards of service. I will NEVER use this clinic again...they have no regard for your personal property and extremely poor customer service. Read Less

A friend who is also a customer of MHPC recommended them for my new Shih Tzu puppy. Took him to be neutered, along w/all the required documents, including my original breeder's copies regarding vaccines, etc. Thought it was sort of crazy that they brought him to me in arms before I had even paid. Had to struggle w/handling him & paying out, but willing to dismiss as the young girl's mistake who I assume was an assistant to the staff. Due to this crazy situation I of dealing w/my puppy and trying to get paid out, I left without thinking about my original copies. I went back the next day and asked for my copies. The girl at the front desk seemed extremely unconcerned, but said she would have ""the"" girl call me back upon her return from lunch. Two weeks went by and I never received that call. I went back in yesterday and these same two girls were sitting at the front desk. They didn't seem the least bit concerned about my documents. I asked why I hadn't reeived the promised phone call. One suggested to me that I just needed to call my breeder and try to get more documents(!) There was NO apology, no remorse, NOTHING but bad attitude! I told the girl that if they had at least offered an apology or offered to try and get copies for me I would have been somewhat satisfied. She said ""I'm sorry"" with the emotion of a rat. There are way too many good vets in Dallas to deal with this level of customer service, not to mention, trust in how your possessions are treated in their care. 100% COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED...I will NEVER use this vet clinic again!! My cat who lived to be 21 years old, loved his Vet. Now, my new doggy is going to be giving them a try, at the Midway Hollow Pet Clinic, nearby me here on Northwest Highway. I'm sure that ""Pancho"" will love his Doc as much as ""Sweety"" did. I'm still trying to figure out just what type of dog my ""Pancho"" is. But, i'm sure that soon, i will know.
