The staff are all nice, but their charges are inflated beyond belief. My regular vet was unavailable when my grandpup I was sitting cut her foot and needed sutures. They made a regular appointment for me later that day, not an emergency visit, and still charged me $400 to stitch her foot up. Absolutely ridiculous. My regular vet only charged $250 to neuter (a.k.a. major surgery) a 5 year old Golden Retriever I was fostering and that included follow up visits and suture removal. Not only did they charge me $400 to suture the grandpup's foot up, but wanted to see her back every 2 days for 2 weeks at another $25 a pop to change the bandages and make sure it was healing properly. My son took her to her first follow up, paid the $25 for the bandage change, and as soon as he got her home it just slipped off. He took her to his regular vet to have it re-bandaged. They charged the fist time, of course, because they were not the ones who treated her initially, but follow up visits after that, they did not. The vet at Prestonwood also said that her blood was not clotting properly and should have another blood test to check for parasites, etc. that could be causing it. They had just taken blood and tested it in order to sedate her to suture her foot! Why didn't they test it then? They would charge an additional $100 (approximately) for the second blood test. Being concerned about her health, my son had their regular vet do the blood test and it was only $22 (and she had no issues). So, yes, they are nice, but their prices are ridiculously inflated and they have no issues with 'recommending' unnecessary tests, etc. to jack up the bill further. It's very unfortunate since people are obviously concerned for their pets and vulnerable to practices such as this. Read Less

Very displeased and my heart is broken my the veterinarian's diagnosis of my cat. Took him in for what i thought was an ear infection. He was diagnosed with allergies. Had to take him back 3 times and one trip to hillside emergency animal clinic. All with the same diagnosis of allergies and the meds given to help said allergies and was told to watch him. Moved out of my apartment and had it tested for mold and other allergens. My issue is the vet tested him and they knew he had elevate ATL levels and never told me that could cause issues or death. He got a better over the next few days. But then right back to the way he was VERY SICK. Couldnt hold down food and wouldnt drink. I took him to a new vet, who diagnosed him within 15mins of what was wrong and did/doing their best trying to reverse the damage. He is now fighting for his life and possibly could not make it through the night. Thanks for nothing Prestonwood. Read Less

Prestonwood was one of the only pet clinics in the area open outside of normal working hours, so I was able to bring her in that same night. Dr. Jackson and her colleagues were all so knowledgeable, sincere, and welcoming. Even the lobby smelled wonderful and not at all like peoples' pets come and go every day. Came here because my dog had an ear infection, and no other vet in the area was accepting appointments or walk-ins. Every employee here was wonderful. Friendly and easy check-in, I thought the vet tech was the actual vet because he was so knowledgeable, and the vet was quick and caring.I know people at every vet's office seem like they love animals, but here they seemed especially careful to make sure the pets realize that. It turned out that this office charges $2 less for office visits than my usual vet, and is closer to my home. Plus, they took me quickly as a walk-in on a Saturday, and are open till 10pm two nights a week. I think we found our new vet. Read Less

So I have to share, because when someone goes above and beyond, it deserves recognition. Last Friday was a very difficult day. Letting a pet go is never easy, especially when it's ultimately your decision. Doubts have continued for the week since it happened. Did we put him down too soon? Could he have lived a good life a little bit longer? Should I have brought him home one last day so the kids could say goodbye? Then the vet clinic calls and tells you Otis is ready to be picked up. I go get him- and he's in this beautiful engraved box, accompanied by an ornament with his paw print (I hope they enjoy tears bc they saw plenty from me again). Then today we received a card in the mail signed by the staff, with a note from the doctor stating that we made the right decision for Otis. Such a small gesture makes such a big impact, alleviates some doubts, and is very much appreciated. If anyone has pets in the Dallas area and needs a vet, I highly recommend Prestonwood Pet Clinic.Read Less

I had previously taken her to Hartland Cat Hospital and had a very bad experience there. From the moment I arrived I was treated like a VIP and the staff couldn't be nicer. In the exam room the tech was very thorough in her questions and made notes of my concerns prior to taking the vitals. Dr. Jackson was kind and explained things in detail and quoting me costs and options. I am so glad I brought my cat there because, as I suspected and Hartland ignored, there was something wrong with my cat! When I left they gave me a print out of instructions and told me to call - day or night - with any concerns or questions. Now that is a caring vet! Read Less

Took my 20 year old and dying cat there.... They ran every test possible. I had already made it clear that I knew she had a lot wrong with her and I needed to have her euthanized (no need for the expensive tests)... She had stopped eating. I had Googled her symptoms and she showed signs of her kidneys failing and liver starting to shut down. After charging me almost $400, he told me to get her to start eating by trying all kinds of food. I tried that... She would not eat it (even tuna and sardines).... We had a coupon for a free office visit, and got an estimate of $28 to check and treat my dog's ear infection. When we checked out, the bill was $99, including $71 for medication that other vets charge between $24 and $40 for. When I spoke with the office manager, she was very rude and told me at least five times that ""we don't care what other vets charge"" and ""we don't care if you take you dogs elsewhere."" I don't know if they jack up the price if you have a coupon or they're just twice as expensive as four other vets I checked with, but I don't recommend Prestonwood Pet Clinic. Don't bother trying to use one of their discount coupons, they'll get you one way or another, and ""they don't care"" if you don't like it. Read Less

Read Less

I called Prestonwood Pet Clinic because my dog was having an itching issue that was likely fleas. And, my dog's fleas/itching cleared up within a day of taking the prescribed meds! I will definitely be going there for all of my dog's needs. Read Less

I had to take our Pup Baxter here recently after it looked like he ate something that he should not have. It was after 7pm when I discovered, and I turned to yelp to find a vet with later hours. They are open until 10pm M-Th!I went in and told the tech what happened. She was super friendly, and went to get the dr. She advised me to observe him, and gave me a card to a 24 hour vet just in case anything happened overnight. It was a huge relief to find a place with later hours with such a friendly staff.

I brought my cat to Prestonwood Pet Clinic after the outstanding and compassionate care they provided for my friend's dying dog.

He wanted me to bring her in for more tests. I just could not afford it, so I took her to her old clinic and had her put down for $20 + $30 office visit fee. Read Less

Wait, what do you mean Dolly's bordetella shot just expired??I hung up the phone with the pet boarding facility in a deep concern.  I was 250 miles from Dolly's vet in Austin and I needed to board her for the weekend because I had tickets to the L.A. Rising festival in Los Angeles and they wouldn't take her in because one of her shots was not updated.Who to call?  Prestonwood Pet Clinic.I explained my situation and they were very helpful.  They had an opening in their schedule and they let me bring Dolly in for her shots and only charged for the shot and not an examination fee.  (There is a small processing fee to add the animal to the system too). The vet, Gary Bridges, was very helpful and answered all my questions.  If I lived in Dallas all the time these guys would become Dolly's vet!  Thank you for the big help and for being so professional!! Read Less
