My sister goes to this clinic and always had great things to say about them. So I changed my vet to them. I had a slight emergency and they saw my dog as soon as possible. The staff was awesome, Vet Tech Bailee is a sweet, funny and listened to my concerns about my baby to rely to the dr. When Dr. Lonsford entered the room, there was an aura about him that was comforting when I explained my concerns about my dog behavior. We will see if the medicine prescribed works. Read Less

This vet is definitely one of the WORST i’ve been to, some workers were nice but i had taken my dog in who was very ill and experiencing seizures and the doctor was so quick to jump to putting him down. i refused and when i did, she gave me attitude. none the less, we brought him home and cared for him ourselves and the next morning he was up and running and playing and is now as healthy as ever. i struggled to believe their team was doing everything they could for him. & when the tech came to bring him back to me before discharging, she literally handled him so rough right in front of us. & after reading some of the comments on here, we too were talked about from the doctors and techs and could hear every word from our room. so i would suggest these doctors find a new specialty or just not work at all. worse experience ever. I have always taken my animals to DP animal hospital but this last visit i went to was a terrible experience. I took my rescue dog in for her annual check up and shots but had called ahead of time for what to expect price-wise. I had spent that afternoon calling other place for prices and decided to stick with my usual dp place. Well, little did i know that when i got there the $150 i was told to expect turned into over $250. I was pretty upset about it and asked what i was being charged for, which let me tell you GOOD thing i asked because i was getting charged for other shots and who knows what i DID NOT ask for. To top it off after the girl who was seeing my pet before the dr came in left, i could hear her complaining and laughing to her coworkers in the back about how i had asked all these questions and i no longer wanted this and that, then how i had mentioned that i was a student in college with a budget and was not expecting to pay so much. Mind you i had called AHEAD of time and was given their prices and was expecting to pay just that not an extra $100something. By this time i was just ready to leave. Thankfully the Doctor came in and was VERY nice and even gave us a sample of shampoo(i think she could tell how P.O. i was) Long story short... Make sure you read and ask what the heck you are being charged for because they will take every dime they possibly can from you if you aren’t careful. And if you are going to talk mess about a pt or client At least have the decency to wait till after they leave or just keep it shut. I have never experienced such rude service. Read Less

Careful, the doctors care more about your money than your loved one. Confirmed by two other vets, they split doses to try and get longer recovery times and don't even mention the cost til later. They are playing with your pets lives. Please go anywhere else. Read Less

So thankful this place was open on a Sunday! My sweet Lola was not being herself for a few days. By Sunday morning, we were desperate for any help. I looked up Deerpark Animal Hospital, looked at all the great reviews and decided to call. They told me to get there ASAP. Once there I waited for about 10 minutes after filing out paperwork. Our vet was super friendly and gentle with Lola. For $175, we got the urgent checkup, one muscle relaxer injection given by the vet, and two medications with a can of food to take home. Dr. Lonsford and Dr. Rodick are hands down the best small animal vets I have ever used for my dogs. They are great with the animals and great with their owners too! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and really do a great job of handling my dogs. They also have really great hours to make it convenient for people who work to drop of and pick up before and after work. Their pricing is great too so you really cannot go wrong if you take an animal to their clinic. I would highly recommend Deer Park Animal Hospital to anyone with a pet that needs veterinary care. I've been coming here for over 5 years.  We also go to Palm to Paws which is 32 miles away but significantly less expensive for better service.  I chose Deer Park Animal Clinic as I believed it was the best choice in my proximity for when I need quick service.One of my dogs had split her nail and was in pain so I decided to take all three in for trims and to get hers looked after.   I brought in their shot records and all are up to date on vaccines - they just received them in November 2016.  I was told that two were due for rabies about a week ago.  Apparently they received a three year rabies and it had just expired.  I told them that I would go ahead and get her rabies.  She told me the vet may charge a emergency fee.  I told her that is fine because her nail is split.  I want her out of pain.  I was then told that the vet left for the day.  So the vet left at 4pm when they are open until 5pm?  As I am writing this the clinic is still open and I'm trying to understand why they would be open without a vet on staff.It is obvious my dogs are well taken care of, up to date on vaccines and would be getting their rabies asap - instead they refused to take care of my girl.I will not be returning to Deer Park Animal Clinic.  Instead we will use Red Bluff Animal Hospital when we need quick local care. Dr Lonsford and staff are INCREDIBLY kind. We were visiting from San Antonio for the holidays, and my newly adopted dog suddenly became very ill. Dr Lonsford was able to see us on a walk in appt and we didn't have to wait very long. He was extremely supportive during the tough time, and called us frequently to update us on the condition of our new pup. I know they did everything they could to help her. My Poodle was in extreme pain when I called and got an appointment for the same day. The Technician realized how distressed was my dog so she didn't mess around with him and had the Vet. Dale Lonsford attend to attend to him immediately.The Vet was OUTSTANDING! Within 30 minutes he had him sedated to be properly x-rayed. When I returned an hour later the Vet spent at least 20 minutes reviewing the x-rays with me and giving me a clear explanation.I will be making this the Vet Hospital for my Kipper from now on. I absolutely LOVE this place. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. They truly care about your animals. We have 2 small dogs and 1 of them had a lot of health problems his first 6 months of life. We were in the office multiple times a week and Dr. Gras was amazing. She always called to follow up and check on our little guy and would answer any questions or concerns we may of had. We drive from Clear Lake to Deer Park just so we can take our dogs to Deer Park vets. We absolutely love Dr Lonsford and Dr Allen. Not only are they compassionate, caring and experienced, they also work within our budget. (Our previous vet in Clear Lake always made us feel guilty for not performing expensive procedures.) When it was time for our beloved black lab to be put to sleep, the entire staff showed such care and compassion. They even sent a bereavement card afterwards ... and later a beautiful porcelain plate with our dog's name on it. How sweet!! We are so glad we found Deer Park Vets. Read Less

Rip off! I was looking for a new vet in the area and tried this one. Everyone was friendly, but I waited until 4:20 for a 3:40 appointment with no apology, but I am okay with that.....Ended up with a $200 bill for 1 chihuahua.....an annual exam, parasite test, heartworm test, lepto, bordatello, and influenza booster. They charged me $14 for a nail trim(normally free with exam). Last time I went to my normal vet, I ended up only paying $223 for TWO dogs that had all of this done each! Read Less

My husband and I recently brought our 2 year old maltipoo here after she had been sick to her stomach for a few days. They got us in right away and were kind and patient which is tough when dealing with a stressed out pet mom like me. They not only took excellent care of her but also took their time explaining all the meds and new food she would need. I felt comfortable right away leaving my baby here for observation before her appointment. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and the facility is clean and free of clutter. We had the opportunity to utilize this service twice in a week recently.  On the first visit one of our dogs received an eye injury from a stray cat. The vet and staff were great and follow up care was very good as well.  During the interim our second "best friend' passed away suddenly and we again turned to this Animal Hospital for assistance.  The care and concern for our deceased pet and grieving family was A+. They went above the expected level of care and service.  Our pet was cremated with dignity.  Their service, fees and compassion makes them an outstanding Animal Hospital.
