My best friend died a horrific and painful death. Dr. Hill should be ashamed of herself.
I made an appointment with Dove Creek Animal Hospital the previous week to bring Blondie in for a vaccine update and examination for an occasional cough. Appointment is on Sept 1, 2020. I brought Blondie in for the appointment he was in good spirit and showed no signs of any issues. When we arrived we were told that they will pick Blondie up from the car and perform the examination and shots while I waited in the car due to their COVID policy. While waiting in the parking lot I received a call from Dove Creek suggesting giving Blondie a shot of Convenia because he had fluid buildup in his lungs causing the cough and to bring him back in after two weeks if the cough persists. Dove Creek also mentioned on this call that Blondie was not acting happy being there. A few minutes later Dove Creek Animal Hospital brought Blondie back out to me. He was obviously highly stressed and vigorously panting and started spitting up in the car. I told the staff member this is not normal and please take him back in to help. This staff member told he's just stressed and to just take him home to calm down. I told this person something is obviously wrong with Blondie, and he needs to be checked out. Again they assure me to just take him home. While still in the parking lot Blondie started to flop around in the car and I jumped out to help Blondie from the backseat. Blondies eyes were in a state of panic and shock staring straight at me while I held him. Blondies head rolled back and he became limp. My best friend died in my arms panicked and gazing directly into my eyes while in the parking lot of Dove Creek Animal Hospital. I ran into their office where they tried to revive Blondie but I already knew he had passed away.
I am still in shock by this event and very sick at how my best friend died. Dove Creek Animal Hospital did not try and help while I expressed concern of Blondies action in the car. I did not bring in an animal that was sick or dying. This was a routine visit. This has left me in a total state of concern as to what is going on at Dove Creek Animal Hospital. There is no doubt that had I not taken Blondie to Dove Creek Animal Hospital he would still be alive today.
Now me and my family, like many families with lost pets, are left with a big hole in our daily lives and in our hearts. Blondie was one of those special animals that was always part of the family and always had to be in the middle of it all. Blondie was especially attached to me as I was to him. He was my shadow at home. I would regularly pray to God thanking him for bringing such a precious creature into our lives. I've cried everyday since.
I've used Dove Creek Animal Hospital for over ten years. Blondie died and I hear nothing from Dove Creek following this unbelievable event. However, I do have the credit card bill for the visit.
All I know is that had I not taken Blondie to Dove Creek Animal Hospital he would still be alive today.
This was a devastating experience and a big loss for my family. I will never step foot in Dove Creek Animal Hospital ever again.

Came here when I got a new puppy. Staff is great and when I came back 8 months later the vet recognized my dog when we were in the lobby. Earned my loyalty right then and I haven't regretted it. Prices are very good and I have never had any complaints! I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for an appointment and they are super quick when you're there.

Dove Creek Animal Hospital has been the best pet experience I have had yet. I have brought my newly adopted senior pup here, unfortunately on a consistent basis, since March of this year. Each time, the vet techs and the vets have been more than accommodating and helpful. Each issue that arises they treat effectively and educate me on the issues. They are so very kind and friendly; you can tell they enjoy what they do. I have absolutely nothing bad to say just thankful to have them in my community.

I would not take my pets anywhere else. The staff is so sweet and caring. I sometimes do the day-stay with my pup when I have long work days and he is always SO excited to be there when he walks in the door. He is not like that anywhere else so I know he enjoys being there and is not sad when I leave him. The doctors also took great care of my little guy when we were sure he was going to have to have surgery. Thankfully, he didn't end up needing it but the staff was very helpful in explaining to me everything the procedure entailed. They were so considerate of how nervous I was for him and when they spoke to me I knew I was going to get great service because I knew their first and only priority was getting my pup better. I seriously recommend this place. Vaccinations, boarding, grooming, anything you think you are gonna need - take your pets here. You won't regret it.

The facility is clean and open - they have nothing to hide. We've had major surgeries, minor procedures and say stays at Dove Creek and each time we walk away knowing our pups were well cared for at a fair price.

Took my puppy here for some bumps on his chin after already going to a different vet who gave me an ointment to put on him and they grew three times the size of what it was before. Then i took him here and they gave me antibiotics and wipes, and then within a day it was less than half the size of what it was when we came in. And now it's almost nonexistent, thank you guys for your help i will definitely go here if i have any other problems!!!

I love Dr. Hill, when I actually get to see her. She's a very pleasant and smart person who is clearly very skilled in veterinary practice. But the wait times here are abhorrent. If you call, expect to be placed on hold for a minimum of 5 minutes. If you show up on time to your scheduled appointment, expect to wait another 30-40 minutes with your upset and stressed out animals. One thing that always really dumbfounded me about this place was why they take your animal out of the room and out of sight to administer shots or take temperatures and weights. It's so off-putting -- I generally believe people are pretty decent and trustworthy human beings, but you have to wonder at some point, what are they doing back there and is your animal really getting its vaccinations that you're paying for? They've been understaffed for months, and it's really showing. They are crazy busy all the time, which is good for them but certainly not when you're sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes, regardless of the fact that you scheduled the first appointment available after their lunch hour. I've been very patient the four years I've taken my animals here, always tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but when my cat had issues over the summer I was there literally once a week (sometimes twice) for over 2 months. And they still couldn't remember who I was, after I'd spent well over $700 with them. The final visit was to have my cat's sutures removed, and they took him in the back room while I waited out front (it was a quick appointment that I still had to wait 15 minutes for). The kid who brought my cat back out actually handed him to another woman who had to tell him it wasn't hers. Hello -- over here, he's mine! Now with the construction on I-35, it's not worth my time to drive my upset animal over there to have another unhappy experience.

Let me preface this by saying that the veterinarians and vet techs that work at Dove Creek Animal Hospital are excellent. Prior to today, I have never had a bad experience there; so the entire operation should not be faulted for the poor attitude of one of its employees.
The employee with the poor attitude is Heather, who works at the front desk. There had been a scheduling conflict - I called on Tuesday to schedule an appointment for Thursday, and apparently the woman had assumed it was the next Thursday and not the upcoming one, which seems like a strange assumption to make. I don€t know who thought that was appropriate.
Upon hearing about this mixup, I dropped a €curse word,€ to a completely empty lobby. I was stressed and confused and my cat needed to be seen as soon as possible for a particularly nasty eye infection. Heather gave me a death stare worthy of Cersei Lannister and stormed off. If she had politely asked me not to use such language, I would have been happy to apologize. But instead she treated me with more overt hostility than I have ever experienced in any customer service setting.
Such hostility towards customers is far more unprofessional than a single curse word, and I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth after the entire experience. If you come in stressed about your pet, as I imagine many people who enter an animal hospital do, you will find no comfort at Heather€s front desk with her hostile attitude and sour demeanor.

The best animal clinic in Denton! The staff at this clinic is super sweet and the Doctors are very knowledgable. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for quality care for their pets.

I love how the staff here is nice and makes me feel like all of their patients are important. And that they treat their patients and their owners with respect enough that they know our dogs' name, making us feel like a family, even though we only though we wait a month or more without visits.My 2 dogs are my babies so I want the best for them. The best food, the best toys so why not give them the best care as well!! I've been taking my dogs here for a year and a half and we will continue to keep coming! The techs here are always willing to help us with any problems!! My dogs have had tapeworms, roundworms and hookworms, the last 2 when we adopted one of our dogs at a shelter and took him here and found out he had them D: They sell hill's science products but I only really buy the treats once in a while. Oh, and they will even do a price match for prescriptions but I would only do it if there's an enormous difference. Another reason I love to go here is because on Wednesdays from 2-4 (I believe is the time frame) you can go to the wellness clinic they have set up and get the shots that your dogs would need and not have to pay the wellness exam fee!All in all, I just have to say that Dr. Lori Hill and team are amaaazing!!

This clinic was always very average for the past two years. On our last visit we took our dog in to have her nails trimmed and annal glands drained. On returning home she had fleas. I went back to explain what had happened and they immediately became very defensive and stated that the problem was that I had fleas at my house. It was truly amazing, very poor customer service. I will not be going back and would proceed with caution if considering this clinic.

I purchased my first puppy back in September. My German Shepherd was not even two months old when I got her. I chose to go to Dove Creek as it is close to my home and also because of all the positive online reviews. I have taken my puppy there for all of her veterinary needs and couldn't be happier with the job that Dr. Hill and the rest of the Dove Creek staff do. With me being a first time dog owner, they did an excellent job in thoroughly addressing all of my questions and concerns. My GSD is now five and a half months old and she is as happy and healthy as can be. Thank you so much for all that you do!

I recently brought my kitten, Charlotte, in for her first checkup and booster shots, and Im really glad that I picked Dove Creek. Dr. Zoltner and the staff were so friendly and helpful, and Charlotte got lots of love and attention while we were there. The staff clearly all love animals, which is really reassuring when Ive definitely been to vets before who didnt even seem to care. I plan to keep going to Dove Creek as our regular vet and I would happily recommend them to others.

Took my two toy poodles to Dove Creek. Recently moved from Kansas where we were spoiled by the best vet ever. Had been to another vet in the area and was not impressed. Staff was friendly when making appointment and got us in quickly. Front desk staff very efficient and courteous. Vet tech was caring and helpful. Veterinarian was super nice and explained everything very well. Felt more comfortable at Dove Creek and more like home. Will be taking Max and Maisy to Dove Creek as their primary vet. I would definitely recommend to friends.

What a great little vet! We normally go somewhere else for our dog's care, but they were fully booked and we needed to take him somewhere. This office was incredibly nice and friendly, and helped us speed through all the new patient paperwork. They also offer a $1 off for checking in with Yelp! The vet tech Amber was very patient and helpful in explaining everything and answered all of my questions thoroughly.My only complaint would be the price, but thus is the cost of healthcare I suppose. I'm grateful to have found another great vet nearby for my sweet puppy!

WOW! Where do I begin? I have an English Bulldog who is 1 year old. As with many puppies, she loves to chew, and chew, and chew. Never in my life would I have imagined her chewing and swallowing a rawhide bone WHOLE. It was the kind of rawhide that had the knotted ends. Well, on a Wednesday evening, I noticed my bulldog was staying outside for such a long time, which was very unusual. I went outside with her and she was coughing, gagging, and seemed to be trying to vomit. I didn't think much about it until she didn't stop. This lasted through the night. She wouldn't lay down at all. Just sat up and panted heavily when she was not coughing/gagging. At 7am, I immediately called Dove Creek Animal Hospital and the tech told me to come in right away. Dr. Hill was not even scheduled to show up until 8:30 but the tech said she called her to come in. Dr. Hill NEVER hesitated. She was there by 7:30 and immediately started taking such good care of my sweet dog. By 10:00, Dr Hill (not the techs) called me personally to tell me how my bulldog was doing and that she was finally getting some rest. Dr. Hill was so concerned, not only about my dog, but about my feelings for my dog. She really reassured me that everything was going to be okay. I truly believe without Dr. Hill and her staff, my sweet Pippa would not be with us today. I will NEVER, EVER go to another veterinarian's office, EVER. Dove Creek Animal Hospital will always take of my animals. Not only is their care excellent, but they are the most reasonable priced vet office in the area. Thank you so much, Dr Hill and your entire staff!!

Never was quite happy with them and the final straw came today. I took my cat in for a dental and marked "up to date on vaccinations" on the paperwork they gave me. No other questions were asked of me. When I came to pick him up, they had given my FIV cat a rabies vaccination two years before it was needed without even consulting me! They said it was 'on his schedule' but what if he had just had one at another vet or had a reaction by pushing his immune system too far?? They've gotten his birthday wrong twice, my phone number has been wrong for a year, and they refuse to recognize his chronic ear infections. Don't use this vet!

I would not take my pets anywhere else. The staff is so sweet and caring. I sometimes do the day-stay with my pup when I have long work days and he is always SO excited to be there when he walks in the door. He is not like that anywhere else so I know he enjoys being there and is not sad when I leave him. I love Dr. Hill, when I actually get to see her. She's a very pleasant and smart person who is clearly very skilled in veterinary practice. But the wait times here are abhorrent. If you call, expect to be placed on hold for a minimum of 5 minutes. If you show up on time to your scheduled appointment, expect to wait another 30-40 minutes with your upset and stressed out animals. One thing that always really dumbfounded me about this place was why they take your animal out of the room and out of sight to administer shots or take temperatures and weights. It's so off-putting -- I generally believe people are pretty decent and trustworthy human beings, but you have to wonder at some point, what are they doing back there and is your animal really getting its vaccinations that you're paying for? They've been understaffed for months, and it's really showing. They are crazy busy all the time, which is good for them but certainly not when you're sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes, regardless of the fact that you scheduled the first appointment available after their lunch hour. I've been very patient the four years I've taken my animals here, always tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but when my cat had issues over the summer I was there literally once a week (sometimes twice) for over 2 months. And they still couldn't remember who I was, after I'd spent well over $700 with them. The final visit was to have my cat's sutures removed, and they took him in the back room while I waited out front (it was a quick appointment that I still had to wait 15 minutes for). The kid who brought my cat back out actually handed him to another woman who had to tell him it wasn't hers. Hello -- over here, he's mine! Now with the construction on I-35, it's not worth my time to drive my upset animal over there to have another unhappy experience.

Let me preface this by saying that the veterinarians and vet techs that work at Dove Creek Animal Hospital are excellent. Prior to today, I have never had a bad experience there; so the entire operation should not be faulted for the poor attitude of one of its employees.
The employee with the poor attitude is Heather, who works at the front desk. There had been a scheduling conflict - I called on Tuesday to schedule an appointment for Thursday, and apparently the woman had assumed it was the next Thursday and not the upcoming one, which seems like a strange assumption to make. I don€t know who thought that was appropriate.
Upon hearing about this mixup, I dropped a €curse word,€ to a completely empty lobby. I was stressed and confused and my cat needed to be seen as soon as possible for a particularly nasty eye infection. Heather gave me a death stare worthy of Cersei Lannister and stormed off. If she had politely asked me not to use such language, I would have been happy to apologize. But instead she treated me with more overt hostility than I have ever experienced in any customer service setting.
Such hostility towards customers is far more unprofessional than a single curse word, and I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth after the entire experience. If you come in stressed about your pet, as I imagine many people who enter an animal hospital do, you will find no comfort at Heather€s front desk with her hostile attitude and sour demeanor.

The best animal clinic in Denton! The staff at this clinic is super sweet and the Doctors are very knowledgable. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for quality care for their pets.

And that they treat their patients and their owners with respect enough that they know our dogs' name, making us feel like a family, even though we only though we wait a month or more without visits.My 2 dogs are my babies so I want the best for them. The best food, the best toys so why not give them the best care as well!! I've been taking my dogs here for a year and a half and we will continue to keep coming! The techs here are always willing to help us with any problems!! My dogs have had tapeworms, roundworms and hookworms, the last 2 when we adopted one of our dogs at a shelter and took him here and found out he had them D: They sell hill's science products but I only really buy the treats once in a while. Oh, and they will even do a price match for prescriptions but I would only do it if there's an enormous difference. Another reason I love to go here is because on Wednesdays from 2-4 (I believe is the time frame) you can go to the wellness clinic they have set up and get the shots that your dogs would need and not have to pay the wellness exam fee!All in all, I just have to say that Dr. Lori Hill and team are amaaazing!!

This clinic was always very average for the past two years. On our last visit we took our dog in to have her nails trimmed and annal glands drained. On returning home she had fleas. I went back to explain what had happened and they immediately became very defensive and stated that the problem was that I had fleas at my house. It was truly amazing, very poor customer service. I will not be going back and would proceed with caution if considering this clinic.

I purchased my first puppy back in September. My German Shepherd was not even two months old when I got her. I chose to go to Dove Creek as it is close to my home and also because of all the positive online reviews. I have taken my puppy there for all of her veterinary needs and couldn't be happier with the job that Dr. Hill and the rest of the Dove Creek staff do. With me being a first time dog owner, they did an excellent job in thoroughly addressing all of my questions and concerns. My GSD is now five and a half months old and she is as happy and healthy as can be. Thank you so much for all that you do!

I recently brought my kitten, Charlotte, in for her first checkup and booster shots, and Im really glad that I picked Dove Creek. Dr. Zoltner and the staff were so friendly and helpful, and Charlotte got lots of love and attention while we were there. The staff clearly all love animals, which is really reassuring when Ive definitely been to vets before who didnt even seem to care. I plan to keep going to Dove Creek as our regular vet and I would happily recommend them to others.

Took my two toy poodles to Dove Creek. Recently moved from Kansas where we were spoiled by the best vet ever. Had been to another vet in the area and was not impressed. Staff was friendly when making appointment and got us in quickly. Front desk staff very efficient and courteous. Vet tech was caring and helpful. Veterinarian was super nice and explained everything very well. Felt more comfortable at Dove Creek and more like home. Will be taking Max and Maisy to Dove Creek as their primary vet. I would definitely recommend to friends.

What a great little vet! We normally go somewhere else for our dog's care, but they were fully booked and we needed to take him somewhere. This office was incredibly nice and friendly, and helped us speed through all the new patient paperwork. They also offer a $1 off for checking in with Yelp! The vet tech Amber was very patient and helpful in explaining everything and answered all of my questions thoroughly.My only complaint would be the price, but thus is the cost of healthcare I suppose. I'm grateful to have found another great vet nearby for my sweet puppy!

WOW! Where do I begin? I have an English Bulldog who is 1 year old. As with many puppies, she loves to chew, and chew, and chew. Never in my life would I have imagined her chewing and swallowing a rawhide bone WHOLE. It was the kind of rawhide that had the knotted ends. Well, on a Wednesday evening, I noticed my bulldog was staying outside for such a long time, which was very unusual. I went outside with her and she was coughing, gagging, and seemed to be trying to vomit. I didn't think much about it until she didn't stop. This lasted through the night. She wouldn't lay down at all. Just sat up and panted heavily when she was not coughing/gagging. At 7am, I immediately called Dove Creek Animal Hospital and the tech told me to come in right away. Dr. Hill was not even scheduled to show up until 8:30 but the tech said she called her to come in. Dr. Hill NEVER hesitated. She was there by 7:30 and immediately started taking such good care of my sweet dog. By 10:00, Dr Hill (not the techs) called me personally to tell me how my bulldog was doing and that she was finally getting some rest. Dr. Hill was so concerned, not only about my dog, but about my feelings for my dog. She really reassured me that everything was going to be okay. I truly believe without Dr. Hill and her staff, my sweet Pippa would not be with us today. I will NEVER, EVER go to another veterinarian's office, EVER. Dove Creek Animal Hospital will always take of my animals. Not only is their care excellent, but they are the most reasonable priced vet office in the area. Thank you so much, Dr Hill and your entire staff!!

Never was quite happy with them and the final straw came today. I took my cat in for a dental and marked "up to date on vaccinations" on the paperwork they gave me. No other questions were asked of me. When I came to pick him up, they had given my FIV cat a rabies vaccination two years before it was needed without even consulting me! They said it was 'on his schedule' but what if he had just had one at another vet or had a reaction by pushing his immune system too far?? They've gotten his birthday wrong twice, my phone number has been wrong for a year, and they refuse to recognize his chronic ear infections. Don't use this vet!
