Couldn't have asked for a better experience! We've definitely found a new home for our fur babies needs. We had just flown in from a long trip and went to pick up our pups from the sitter to find a massive infection on our little ones neck and chest, and open wound holes dug from a collar left on her. We were so distraught and worried and immediately called DOV who were getting ready to close (a recommendation from a family member as we're moving to the area). They stayed for us to make it there and took such good care of her, answered all of my questions, and never once seemed rushed to get out and head home. It felt like each one of them truly cared about our little one and made her feel safe and loved after a rough time. Thank you guys!!

Absolutely love Double Oak Veterinary hospital! I can't say enough wonderful things about this hospital and Dr. Wood. I have been bringing my furry children to Dr. Wood for the past ten years, and he has treated my three dogs and six cats so wonderfully! He is a true animal lover! He has always been so kind and taken the time to explain everything to us. My dog Max has had two knee, TPL, surgeries, and had cancer on his elbow. The surgery was performed by Dr. Mountain, whom I cannot say enough amazing things about. My other dog Maggie had cancer growing in her mouth and was successfully treated. Vet tech, Meagan, was just so fantastic, she treated my animals with such compassion. The entire staff, including the super sweet receptionist, Deirdre, are always friendly and go out of their way to help and answer any questions you have. I like to be informed, and I ask a lot of questions. Karen the groomer is simply great at her job!On several occasions my animals have stayed in the Cabo suites and thrived, it was so nice to be able to see them on the cameras when you can't be with them. I even saw one of the kennel techs on camera give my dog a kiss. They are treated like furry kings and queens! The hospital itself is beautiful, southwest decor, the exam rooms are super clean...I know when my animals are being treated by Dr. Wood and his staff they are going to be treated with kindness and get exemplary care. My dog had knee surgery there last week. After spending thousands of dollars for the surgery, the vet tech presented us with a bill for three post-op medications. We told her that we get our vet drugs at Costco because it is cheaper. They offered to call in only one of the medications. When we politely told her they carry the others at Costco and we showed her the Costco app with the medications listed, she said they were "black market" pills and Dr. Wood would not approv...e that. If we wanted the pills, we had to purchase them at Double Oak Vet. We told her that Costco doesn't sell black market pills and that we could have them call the clinic to explain. She ran off to the back to check with Dr. Wood. A minute later, Dr. Wood slammed through the door and charged at me as I was standing at the receptionist desk trying to pay for the other two medications. He was inches from my face as he yelled at me at how ungrateful I was and that I was to "never, ever come to the clinic again." He slammed his hand on the counter a few times as he yelled. It truly scared me. I must have been visibly shook up because the receptionist apologized and said he shouldn't have slammed his fist and yelled at me like that. After spending thousands of dollars for the surgery, the vet tech presented us with a bill for three post-op medications. We told her that we get our vet drugs at Costco because it is cheaper. When you are all prepared and drop your dog off for surgery ... and 2 hours later, after further evaluation the Dr. calls you and explains that surgery is not beneficial, and let's wait and see. I was so impressed with the honesty and much relieved! I trust Dr. Wood and Dr. Brashear wholeheartedly. We've been using them about 2-3 years. I'm so glad we found them after searching a second opinion for my then 9 year old Great Dane. So grateful, as we decided on the surgery despite her age, and I feel that is why she is here today, going strong on her way to age 12! They do not shy away from my large breed Great Danes, and my many sizes and ages of mix breed dogs. I trust them with all! Thoroughly recommend them and do so often. Thank you all, for my many phone calls with silly questions, and pleasant staff!

I'm staying at 3 stars for now. They were supposed to put stitches in my cat. I said while she is under clean her teeth. They put her under to clean her teeth, but then didn't stitch the hole because it was healing up well.
What I would have said is don't put her under anesthesia. Then I was referred to a dental specialist off 1171. I will likely go back because family referred and says they are good with cats. Next time I will be very specific

We absolutely love this feature.

It was very easy to schedule my pups grooming session. Very attentive and interested in information about my dogs.when I made the appt. over the phone. I looked forward to seeing the end result from the grooming session. They come highly recommended! I will say the grooming was very good for both of my fur babies, however the staff isn't very friendly. As soon as I arrived, obviously overwhelmed dealing with two dogs on a leash and multiple other dogs in the waiting room obviously anxious about the other dogs entering the facility. The receptionist didn't even say hello or good morning, I actually introduced myself. When the groomers came out they didn't introduce themselves or say Hello, just saying I'm taking care of Shadow and the lady groomer saying now tell me how do you want your Yorkie cut? No introduction or anything.....I was brought up to show respect and be friendly to everyone, however if my dogs really didn't need a grooming that day I would have turned around and walked out simply due to the lack of common decency. Like I said, grooming was excellent, however the common courtesy of being friendly was severely lacking.

We had the wonderful opportunity to have Dina groom our 11-month-old Wheaton Scottish Terrier. We have been going to Double Oak for many years for our veterinary and grooming needs, and we were so impressed with Dina. She came out to greet us prior to leaving our pup, and she inquired about the specifics of the type of groom we desired. She was genuinely invested in ensuring our little guy received just the type of cut we wanted. Dina was exceptionally professional, punctual, and friendly; we can't thank her enough for the stellar job she did on our Finn. The staff at Double Oak have been consistently wonderful to us and more importantly to our two Scottish Terriers over the years, and I'm glad Dina is part of their team.

Everyone at the Veterinary Medical Center has been amazing with our geriatric Persian Cat. We have seen all the Vets and primarily Dr. Russell but all the staff has been excellent to work with. I moved to Double Oak in 2012 and visited other vets before I choose Double Oak, The first impression I got confirmed that was the clinic I wanted to use. There were issues with the groomer and due to Emma's age and some of the experiences with that groomer, we are not using that aspect of the clinic. As a geriatric cat, Emma has health issues and they have been resolved and she is leading a long life because of the care she got at Double Oak.

Dr. Wood is truly passionate about the Welfare of animals. I met him last weekend at Pet Supplies Plus on Mockingbird Rd in Dallas to get my kitten her first shots. Dr. Wood spends practically his whole day every other Sunday giving pet owners vaccinations for their babies at almost no cost. When my kitten ever needs any treatment outside of standard vaccinations I will go see him. Thank you, Dr. Wood!

The pungent smell of animal urine overpowers this facility. Sure, we should expect this type of smell at a vet clinic but not to this degree. Nasty.In addition, they refused to give us a prescription to buy our pet meds online or elsewhere at a discounted price and pretty much insisted that we buy directly from them at their price. Nothing like feeling trapped at a time when one of our pets becomes very sick and requires a routine of expensive meds & therapy.

I researched many local vets in the Lewisville / Highland Village / Flower Mound area before coming to Double Oak Veterinary. I have been using them for 6 months for my 3 big dogs, and have been consistently pleased with the service and pricing. They are far less expensive than other vets in the area (e.g., Dr. Doolittle's), and their facility is brand new and very nice. I have seen Dr. Wood as well as other doctors there. They genuinely care about their patients and do a fantastic job. I have boarded two of my dogs there as well.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience! We've definitely found a new home for our fur babies needs. We had just flown in from a long trip and went to pick up our pups from the sitter to find a massive infection on our little ones neck and chest, and open wound holes dug from a collar left on her. We were so distraught and worried and immediately called DOV who were getting ready to close (a recommendation from a family member as we're moving to the area). They stayed for us to make it there and took such good care of her, answered all of my questions, and never once seemed rushed to get out and head home. It felt like each one of them truly cared about our little one and made her feel safe and loved after a rough time. Thank you guys!!

Absolutely love Double Oak Veterinary hospital! I can't say enough wonderful things about this hospital and Dr. Wood. I have been bringing my furry children to Dr. Wood for the past ten years, and he has treated my three dogs and six cats so wonderfully! He is a true animal lover! He has always been so kind and taken the time to explain everything to us. My dog Max has had two knee, TPL, surgeries, and had cancer on his elbow. The surgery was performed by Dr. Mountain, whom I cannot say enough amazing things about. My other dog Maggie had cancer growing in her mouth and was successfully treated. Vet tech, Meagan, was just so fantastic, she treated my animals with such compassion. The entire staff, including the super sweet receptionist, Deirdre, are always friendly and go out of their way to help and answer any questions you have. I like to be informed, and I ask a lot of questions. Karen the groomer is simply great at her job!On several occasions my animals have stayed in the Cabo suites and thrived, it was so nice to be able to see them on the cameras when you can't be with them. I even saw one of the kennel techs on camera give my dog a kiss. They are treated like furry kings and queens! The hospital itself is beautiful, southwest decor, the exam rooms are super clean...I know when my animals are being treated by Dr. Wood and his staff they are going to be treated with kindness and get exemplary care. My dog had knee surgery there last week. After spending thousands of dollars for the surgery, the vet tech presented us with a bill for three post-op medications. We told her that we get our vet drugs at Costco because it is cheaper. They offered to call in only one of the medications. When we politely told her they carry the others at Costco and we showed her the Costco app with the medications listed, she said they were "black market" pills and Dr. Wood would not approv...e that. If we wanted the pills, we had to purchase them at Double Oak Vet. We told her that Costco doesn't sell black market pills and that we could have them call the clinic to explain. She ran off to the back to check with Dr. Wood. A minute later, Dr. Wood slammed through the door and charged at me as I was standing at the receptionist desk trying to pay for the other two medications. He was inches from my face as he yelled at me at how ungrateful I was and that I was to "never, ever come to the clinic again." He slammed his hand on the counter a few times as he yelled. It truly scared me. I must have been visibly shook up because the receptionist apologized and said he shouldn't have slammed his fist and yelled at me like that. I’ve never written a google review before, but my experience at Double Oak Vet has prompted me to do so. My dog had knee surgery there last week. After spending thousands of dollars for the surgery, the vet tech presented us with a bill for three post-op medications. We told her that we get our vet drugs at Costco because it is cheaper. My dog was very sick and the attention and care everyone at Double Oak provided to my dog - and to me - was outstanding. In a difficult time like this, I couldn't have asked for a better place to support us.

When you are all prepared and drop your dog off for surgery ... and 2 hours later, after further evaluation the Dr. calls you and explains that surgery is not beneficial, and let's wait and see. I was so impressed with the honesty and much relieved! I trust Dr. Wood and Dr. Brashear wholeheartedly. We've been using them about 2-3 years. I'm so glad we found them after searching a second opinion for my then 9 year old Great Dane. So grateful, as we decided on the surgery despite her age, and I feel that is why she is here today, going strong on her way to age 12! They do not shy away from my large breed Great Danes, and my many sizes and ages of mix breed dogs. I trust them with all! Thoroughly recommend them and do so often. Thank you all, for my many phone calls with silly questions, and pleasant staff!

Love the doctor but honestly they charged me $100 for emergency fee when other vets in the area don't do that. Plus receptionist isn't that easy to work with.

I'm staying at 3 stars for now. They were supposed to put stitches in my cat. I said while she is under clean her teeth. They put her under to clean her teeth, but then didn't stitch the hole because it was healing up well.
What I would have said is don't put her under anesthesia. Then I was referred to a dental specialist off 1171. I will likely go back because family referred and says they are good with cats. Next time I will be very specific

Dr. Wood is the best veterinarian we have ever dealt with. He is very professional, friendly, and works very well with our puppies. When we go on vacation we board them with him because we feel they are safe there. They have a camera where you can watch your puppies/cats 24 hours a day over your computer. We absolutely love this feature.

It was very easy to schedule my pups grooming session. Very attentive and interested in information about my dogs.when I made the appt. over the phone. I looked forward to seeing the end result from the grooming session. They come highly recommended! I will say the grooming was very good for both of my fur babies, however the staff isn't very friendly. As soon as I arrived, obviously overwhelmed dealing with two dogs on a leash and multiple other dogs in the waiting room obviously anxious about the other dogs entering the facility. The receptionist didn't even say hello or good morning, I actually introduced myself. When the groomers came out they didn't introduce themselves or say Hello, just saying I'm taking care of Shadow and the lady groomer saying now tell me how do you want your Yorkie cut? No introduction or anything.....I was brought up to show respect and be friendly to everyone, however if my dogs really didn't need a grooming that day I would have turned around and walked out simply due to the lack of common decency. Like I said, grooming was excellent, however the common courtesy of being friendly was severely lacking.

Everyone at Double Oak Veterinary Center has always been amazing for our 2 "children". We adopted them from there 4 years ago and they always treat them like family. From the care that they are given to the times that we have boarded them, we have never had any complaints. Sometimes we think the puppies are more excited about seeing their friends there than seeing us.

We had the wonderful opportunity to have Dina groom our 11-month-old Wheaton Scottish Terrier. We have been going to Double Oak for many years for our veterinary and grooming needs, and we were so impressed with Dina. She came out to greet us prior to leaving our pup, and she inquired about the specifics of the type of groom we desired. She was genuinely invested in ensuring our little guy received just the type of cut we wanted. Dina was exceptionally professional, punctual, and friendly; we can't thank her enough for the stellar job she did on our Finn. The staff at Double Oak have been consistently wonderful to us and more importantly to our two Scottish Terriers over the years, and I'm glad Dina is part of their team.

I've been to so many vets over the years, but none as caring and knowledgeable as Dr. Russell. My cat, the love of my life, got sick, and I was referred to her. She was so sweet and took such good care of him to the very end. And expressed such care for him and me. I will never go to another vet ever. P.S. Everyone at the Veterinary Medical Center has been amazing with our geriatric Persian Cat. We have seen all the Vets and primarily Dr. Russell but all the staff has been excellent to work with. I moved to Double Oak in 2012 and visited other vets before I choose Double Oak, The first impression I got confirmed that was the clinic I wanted to use. There were issues with the groomer and due to Emma's age and some of the experiences with that groomer, we are not using that aspect of the clinic. As a geriatric cat, Emma has health issues and they have been resolved and she is leading a long life because of the care she got at Double Oak.

Dr. Wood is truly passionate about the Welfare of animals. I met him last weekend at Pet Supplies Plus on Mockingbird Rd in Dallas to get my kitten her first shots. Dr. Wood spends practically his whole day every other Sunday giving pet owners vaccinations for their babies at almost no cost. When my kitten ever needs any treatment outside of standard vaccinations I will go see him. Thank you, Dr. Wood!

The pungent smell of animal urine overpowers this facility. Sure, we should expect this type of smell at a vet clinic but not to this degree. Nasty.In addition, they refused to give us a prescription to buy our pet meds online or elsewhere at a discounted price and pretty much insisted that we buy directly from them at their price. Nothing like feeling trapped at a time when one of our pets becomes very sick and requires a routine of expensive meds & therapy.

I researched many local vets in the Lewisville / Highland Village / Flower Mound area before coming to Double Oak Veterinary. I have been using them for 6 months for my 3 big dogs, and have been consistently pleased with the service and pricing. They are far less expensive than other vets in the area (e.g., Dr. Doolittle's), and their facility is brand new and very nice. I have seen Dr. Wood as well as other doctors there. They genuinely care about their patients and do a fantastic job. I have boarded two of my dogs there as well.
