Pretty convenient when you need a vet on a short notice specially when your dog was eating your watch and the chicken you left out to cook and you forgot to put it away cause someone was calling from all the way at the other side and she just wanted water but doesn't tell you so even though you where at the kitchen and could of brought it she waited till you get there. I just bought a pup and went to Banfield because of the great experiences I had for years with my two previous and now deceased dogs. As usual you usually reap what you sow. The staff here was incredibly patient with me, helpful, taught me new aspects and developments in pet care I did not know, and showed tremendous love to my pup. From Chelsea taking my call, to Robert T. the tech bringing me up to date on new technology developments, to Tania at the counter getting me set up and some preliminary information, to Dr. Rojas spending time answering questions and never rushing the visit despite the facility being busy. I travel for work and go to many different Banfield locations but sure hope I get to return here and you'll get treated the same as me if you are nice to them... just like everywhere else!! Always super friendly staff and great customer service.  I love how there are no issues with continuing our cats' food prescription from another veterinarian instead of theirs in order to buy the prescription food in PetSmart.  It's kind of weird how they do the food prescription expiration every 3 months so you will need to basically have them renew it in person and get a new card.  No fees or anything required though which is still great!They always have a great supply and selection of their prescription food readily available, canned/kibble or treats.  I love spoiling my cats so it's always nice to be able to get them some goodies on the spot. We visited this location after a rough afternoon for my pet. We wanted to put him out of his suffering and Banfield was the closest place to my home we knew we could go. We were denied services in the name of "special super bowl hours", despite the fact we had arrived 2 hours prior to the posted closing hours. In any other non-emergency circumstance I can understand refusal of services. But to turn away a suffering pet is inhumane and unacceptable. I hope Dr. Rojas and staff enjoy the Super Bowl, as my family had to search to find a place to bring comfort to my pet in his final hours. I would never ever in any circumstance recommend this place to anyone. Read Less

I was hesitant at first to switch vets...My 2 dogs have now been with Banfield for at least 5 years. I have never been happier. The receptionist, who shares my last name, remembers us every time. The people that escort my dogs to the back room have been kind and understanding when my dogs are stressed. They have made sure to put my dogs in a shared kennel space when receiving services. The doctors have been kind and compassionate. I have been very pleased. Thank you Banfield at Sunland! Read Less

We adopted a 10 month old, spayed dog from the Humane Society and the second we got her home we started noticing her sneezing, coughing, and having trouble breathing. It was more than enough for us to be concerned she may be sick so we decided to take her to Banfield the morning after since they had already closed that evening.Upon arrival we were told that the facility was booked that day but that they would do their best to have our dog Sapphire looked at and taken care of. They took her as a walk-in even though there were a ton of pets already scheduled that day.Once she was looked at, the clinic contacted me and told me that they had a treatment plan prepared for her seeing as though she had 'kennel cough' but also that they were concerned with how she had been fixed after being spayed. They offered her a treatment plan that included medications for her illness as well as to fix her stitching that had been done improperly for a total of $120. I thought the pricing was exceptional and agreed to the treatment plan and within an hour was called for Sapphire to be picked up!Bottom line if you want a place that is AFFORDABLE, FRIENDLY, and EXCEPTIONALLY CARING FOR YOUR ANIMAL, Banfield Animal Hospital is the location for you. I cannot give this review any stars, I would like to put minus stars if I could.  Staff attendant was rude trying to act like the vet.  She wanted us to have a procedure done that previously almost killed my cat.  Another vet clinic did the procedure, this was why I started going to Banfield and initially the staff was great and the vet was great a Dr.Adams, all the good ones leave.The service was awful from the attendants, didn't put table down in the exam room, offered medical advice although she is not qualified to do so, she was not the vet.  This place has plummeted to an all time low.  It seems uncaring, and lack of proper protocol for an attendants level of education. My cat had a bowel movement in her carrier, for which the attendant didn't offer any help not even with offering paper towels to clean it up, she just looked away, what is she doing at a vet's clinic if she can't handle that situation.I definitely will not be going back.  The first thing they did was not have my appointment scheduled correctly, as they are too busy to key in an appointment as the attendant kept saying how busy they were and can't keep track of appointments more or less.; no charge as I did not see the vet.Also, the front desk clerk was glaring at me, like it was my fault.  Kept asking me why I wanted to leave, I plainly said I did not like the service I was getting.  They really need to have some employee training, which it is evidently lacking.  I work for a medical service and I know what customer or patient service is supposed to be, and it sure isn't apparent at Banfield. Excellent facilities, very clean, helpful, happy, courteous staff that love the animals, very accommodating (within reason, of course). They have been taking excellent care of my dogs since I first went to them with Raptor. I love how I can be anywhere in the country, even in Mexico, and get good, affordable and accessible care for my dog.Read Less

I took my dog there to get help, made an appointment everything went good & today my dog has been sick still. Shaking his jaw like crazy no vomitting, I feel as if he is having a seizure or something, it continues to go. I walk in today & try to see if they will check him & see what could be causing it, right when I walk in they can what they can help me with, then tell me walk in visits are not welcomed! That's not what it says on the website, my dog is been getting worse lately, taking medicine that they give him! I asked maybe it could be caused great it, the lady goes to the back to talk to the vet & comes back to tell me no it shouldn't be causing it but yet see's my dog who is now shaking more & spitting out his saliva as if he was having a seizure or something like that, but still denies to help me & tells me to come back tomorrow instead & just to call back if it gets worse. It is worse! Now he is spitting his saliva! ITS WORSE! I am very disappointed how I am a paying customer and they still deny my dog after seeing him. When I saw there was two rooms available or at least one! My dog was given the medicine on the care of G. Caraballo, I am still giving him the medicine & would rather have been taken care of today instead of unstead of going tomorrow morning & dropping him off! He needs help & they basically denied my poor dog! So I decided to call & try to schedule an appointment since supposedly that's only way they'll see my do supposedly that's only way they'll do a physical exam, & they lady told me that there was no appointments left for today. They close at 7:00today it is now 12:44! I believe it's total bs! I will not drop my dog off but try to stay with him, since they act so foolish! I wouldn't trust them with my dog Read Less

Was not pleased at all! My puppy King has never seen a vet before and it was our first time going here. I expected a lot since we're military and thought I could rely on a company we can always go to when we're moving. The vet had taken my puppy for a check up and when she came back she was calling my pup a "she"....not a big deal but I thought since she was checking my pup she would have seen his gender if she was checking properly and on top of that she was calling our pup the wrong name! I had seen on her screen that there was another pup to be seen and that's the name she was calling my pup and it almost seemed like she was talking about the other dog's examination until she realized. She was also very rushed like she didn't really want to be there with us and seemed as if she had somewhere else to be, I did also have one of the latest appointments at 6:30pm before they closed at 7:00pm. My husband and I felt very rushed, I felt as if I had to think of all the questions I had to ask super fast before she walked out the door. It didn't even seem like she loved what she did almost as if she just wanted to get the appointment over with. I did not feel confident leaving there that my pup was healthy. I went home and read the paper work of what happened at the appointment and read that there was an "exam found out of normal range" to my pups eyes which was not even mentioned at the appointment !! I don't even know if that was the other dogs exam or for my pup since she had them confused. Totally disappointed, I wanted to like this place but I have to say I will be looking for another vet. I took my dog today for the first time and service was great! There year plan made everything so affordable and got my dog everything that he needed. There where do helpful to! They helped me out my dog back in my car ( I'm disabled and he's a big dog so it makes it hard for me to handle him). I had a wonderful experience. Read Less

Horrible experience!! I will never take my pet here, I called to make an appointment and ask for something around noon. The lady very rude told me that they never make appointments at that time they're at lunch (understandable, but her attitude was very rude), then I ask her I they had any openings in the afternoon and she literally started yelling me what was the concern with my pet. I don't know about the doctors and nurses, but if they have somebody in their staff with whom is impossible to even make an appointment I can't imagine what kind of care they provide to your pets. My puppy was a patient of theirs and I called to try and get an emergency visit for my pup because I think he might have parvo...they told me to take my puppy to another vet on the other side of town, even after I said I would prefer going here. Never going there again Read Less

I went to Banfield when I came to EL Paso and needed a vet for my dogs. They are convenient, with long hours, and close by. However, they are expensive. They often recommend x-rays ($185) and seem to have high prices on injections, although I have no objective standard to base this on. But really pissed me off was when my dog needed a Bordetello shot ($24), but they hit me with a $40 office fee on top of this. My dog had been in recently and had no health problems. They didn't tell me about the fee ahead of time (as an auto shop would be required to do) and when I complained to the office manager, she dismissively said that was corporate policy. When I went to write a review, I saw the national office had a customer service line, so I called. Spoke to someone who took my complaint and said I'd hear form them in a day or two. Its been ten days and no contact. I guess it make sense. Banfield is a corporation whose primary goal is to generate earnings for its stockholders. I remember when vets were people who did what they did for the love of animals and didn't seek to get rich from it. Support your local vet! Read Less

I've used Banfield because we are military and it is always easy to transfer records every move and always know we can find a Banfield in the area. I have never had a horrible experience. I have always received great care, but I am very persistent and don't just take any diagnosis without lengthy explanation...as pet owners you have to communicate for your pet on all levels. That means demanding proper care and explanation.I recently had to put my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog down due to cancer, they were caring, sympathetic and comforting. They did everything they could to save her before the x-rays came back to show the cancer had spread to her lungs. I can't put into words how emotional our family was (still is) and how the staff was also in tears and holding us, tell me that is not caring! I even got a sympathy card from the entire staff,  each and every one of them had hand written something sweet to my family about our Grace after we go her ashes back.
