Do not trust this office. If you do it will cost you. I had a great experience with the Banfield in Oregon so when I moved here I transferred all my records down. We were due for a comprehensive so I scheduled that a week after we arrived. What they failed to tell me is that El Paso has an incredibly high heartworm rate, unlike where I lived in Oregon, and that it's recommended to have your dog on preventative treatment. This was back in June mind you. Early September a friend mentioned the heartworm issue so I called this vet to find out why they hadn't said anything back in June. After speaking wth the tech they mentioned that because he's on comfortis until October they weren't going to say anything until they switched him to trifexis, since it's the same medication. Not knowing any better I hung up, and then my curiosity got the better of me. After looking up comfortis I called my original office back in Oregon. Comfortis is a flea medication only, and my dog has been completely unprotected since June, through the wettest season of the year. They needlessly put my dog in danger of contracting something very preventable. Thankfully after visiting the west side office he tested negative and is now on preventative meds. Had he been positive I likely would have pursued legal action. Had I not researched the medication and second guessed what they were telling me my dog would have continued to be unprotected through October. They had full access to my records and knew full well I was new to the area. I've never dealt with a vet like this and warn all of you to avoid the place because your animals lives may depend on it.Read Less

The absolute worst. First I took my new puppy that I got from the animal shelter to visit them because he was coughing really bad. I looked up his symptoms and it said it could be kennel cough from being in the shelter. So I called to set an appointment and I explained to the nurse what was going on. Once I took my dog in, Dr. Dalin said he had distemper. I asked was it ok to keep the dog around my two cats at home and she said "YES, no worries it's not contagious". After $125 for the first visit ( which was after all the work done and I had a free visit coupon) and a second visit of $63 and being told most puppies don't survive distemper ....... My dog still has a minor cough and the cats both now have kennel cough which is contagious between cats and dogs. I recommend not taking them here. I also gave them his shot records which were lost and I've called multiple times and COURTNEY( who took the records from me) has yet to give me a call back. And no one can seem to find them. I'll be sure to write corporate about this. Totally unsatisfactory. They want to charge me $80 to check the cats that were doing just fine before they told me I could keep the animals together. I advise you to take them somewhere else. Someone that knows the difference between kennel cough and distemper. Horrible experience. Read Less

Ridiculously overpriced! $60 for a rabies vaccine, $40 of that was for an office fee! Seriously, an office fee! You're in a giant store Banfield, not a state of the art, luxury, standalone, pet spa. Not only was it almost half an hour past the appointment time before seen, but staff obnoxiously tried to upsale for random vaccines even after specifically stating all that is needed is a rabies vaccine. Spend time researching a local vet & stay away from this place unless you know, you occasionally set fire to bundles of money while your dog sits there and waits uncomfortably. Read Less

Terrible weekend service. I brought my cat in after noticing she had not had anything to eat in 4 days. I dropped her off at 10am and one hour before closing (4pm) still had no update on her status - I was told the vet had been busy all day. The vet had not yet examined her and had not run any tests! After speaking to vet and expressing my disappointment to the lack of care I was told to leave and go someplace else if I didn't like what was being done. This is truly disappointing to see my pet's health ignored like this when they had all day to run proper tests in a timely fashion. They rushed a blood test and told me it was an infection and that they were unable to do more. Not only did my cat endure a long day at the vet but I was left with very few answers. I hope this office takes the time to read this and correct the lack of service/attention my pet received. Read Less

Overall, I have been really happy with Banfield for my Vet needs. I like how they are located inside Petsmart, especially right near the groomers. That makes it easy to knock out multiple trips in one go.The biggest thing I like about Banfield is the care plans they offer. I pay around $60 something a month for my dogs, totaling about $750ish a year. That is it. Exams are covered, shots are covered, dental is covered, AND I get a discount on any additional medications or prescriptions that my pups might need. My last visit was a few days ago, and had I not been on one of the care plans, my bill would have been about $1500 between both of my dogs. .. So I have got my moneys worth and then some. Banfield gives you a detailed print out of what your bill would had you walked in off the street without a care plan. The staff is really friendly. I haven't had an issue with customer service here. The techs are friendly, and the Vets are nice and knowledgable. Any issue that might arise, the staff is always diligent to ensure that I know exactly what happened or what is going on. Lastly, I like that there are a bunch of Banfield location around the US. We are planning to move soon, and I don't have to deal with the stress of trying to find a new Vet for my dogs when we make that transition. This is great, ESPECIALLY for yall military types (like myself), who move often. Read Less

Their website says walk-ins welcome. They aren't. They call themselves an animal hospital but don't offer any walk-in emergency services. This is so not an animal hospital but more like a sorry you have to have an appointment vet. All I got was "We don't have anything available until Monday. Maybe this other place could help." Don't advertise walk-in or hospital because all you are is a vet. The vets I have been to provide better emergency services than this "hospital" and guess what if there's an emergency they take it. Sad this happened on a day our normal vet isn't open. I will definitely never come here again. Read Less

We took our German Sheppard to get his teeth cleaned and shots. They called us and told us he was ready to be picked up. We got there and they brought him out and he looked so sick. My dog's tongue was huge, and swelled up and he could not even walk. Long story short the vets came out picked him up and took him back inside. The thought he had gotten an allergic reaction to the anesthesia but were not sure. Hour or so later they advise that we have to transport our dog to the emergency hospital on Airways and right away say they are paying for everything. The next day the vet calls and says my dog had probably like around the kennel he was at and the cleaning chemical that they use was not diluted or mixed properly!!!! So what my dog had was the side effects from whatever chemical he came in contact with. There was another dog at the ER hospital with the same symptoms. Well they were both at Banfield next to each other. This happened Tuesday and they are both still at the ER hospital. My dog is still nauseous and has not eaten since Monday. Hoping he does recover. Never again will I talk him to Banfield! Read Less

Read Less
