Dr. Shinaut, I hope you take time to read these reviews because I think it is important for you to know that you are losing clients due to the repugnant disposition of your receptionist Kathleen. She has very poor customer service skills and does know how to interact with the public. Kathleen lacks the ability to properly communicate with clients in a respectful, understanding and pleasant manner. I thank you for the many years that you provided top-notch care for our pets. However, Kathleen's objectionable demeanor is the impetus to seek care for my pets at another clinic. Good luck to you, Dr. Shinaut, because employees like Kathleen are sure to erode your business. I HAD been a long time client here, until his change of employees in the last year or so. The receptionist there is so rude and insensitive. When my dog died, she offered no condolence or even a look into my eyes. She sat there on her cell phone. The practice owner is great, but the face of his clinic (receptionist) is enough for me to go elsewhere. His receptionist is lousy. I choose to remain anonymous. Read Less

My dog was spayed at the clinic. Never saw nor talked to the doctor. Was not given post-surgery instructions of any sort. Never had an opportunity to speak with the vet or meet with the vet. This was the first visit by this puppy to the clinic. Very impersonal and cold. Will not use them again. Read Less

Dr. Shinault is amazing. He really cares about my Rugby and Tyson. He devotes all the time necessary to my animals. He has even called me to personally follow up. I couldn't ask for a better vet. My senior fur child Athena had her lab work done and her rabies immunization. Dr. Shinaut was very thorough with the consultation in regards to my elderly dog's medical care. Athena feels very at ease when she visits her doctor. Everyone is friendly, courteous, and professional. Read Less

Today was my first visit here. We usually go to the vet on post but my Dally girl is about to be a year, needed to be spayed, and unfortunately the waiting list there is 2 months long. After a search for highly recommended vets, I found VHAH and they were able to see us much, much sooner!The main reason for my 5-star rating was the post-op call from the Vet assuring me everything went well. This was our first visit to Vista Animal Hospital and we absolutely love it! My miniature schnauzer had a nasty cut on her her leg, the doctor and his staff were genuinely concern and compassionate. I have nothing but amazing things to say about these people who took care of my little boyWe just moved here six months ago and hadn't found a veterinarian yet, but this morning something was very wrong with my Andre, I needed immediate care and saw Vista Hills Animal Hospital on yelp. I called right away and I didn't have an appointment and they said come on in because if it's urgent they're there to help and they helped tremendously!! We just got home and what a change, with their knowledge and immediate response they knew what to do and he is comfortable right now and also sent me home with instructions to maintain understand what he needs. Our 4 month old puppy was attacked and had his jaw broken. The doctors and staff were amazing with him, not only did they comfort Goliath, but hey comforted us too. This is the best place to bring your pets for veterinary services or to board your animals! They treat you like you're family. They call and follow up to see how your pet is doing and remember you when you come back! I have taken my dogs in for sick and well visits.  They are quick, caring and affordable. We had taken our cat to several vets in El Paso in the past for an eye issue. Nothing was resolved until we had Dr. Garcia with Vista Hills look at him. After moving back to El Paso we struggled to find a vet that was both friendly and learned (you see, you can be a genius but if you aren't friendly to our pooches then it does us no good and the relationship is dead before it even blossomed). The staff at Vista Hills Animal Hospital is great, very welcoming and sincere w/ their love of animals. If that wasn't enough you then have Dr. Shinaut and Dr. Garcia who, in my humble opinion, are the epitome of great veterinarians; knowledgeable, kind and friendly they make sure all questions you might've had are answered and make it clear that they are at your beck&call should the need arise. Definitely making them a place I would recommend, highly!Even after three years the entire staff continues to impress us with their passion for helping our four legged children. I volunteered here for several months and after seeing how they work up close and personal, I have never taken my dogs anywhere else! The animals who stay at the hospital for boarding or overnight treatment are kept very comfortable and in clean shelters. I TOOK MY TWO DOGS INTO THIS VETS CLINIC (VISTA HILLS ANIMAL HOSPITAL) ON LOMALAND TO GET THEIR RABIE SHOTS AND CHIPS. MY DOGS ARE OUTSIDE DOGS NEVER INSIDE AND MY LAB PIT MIX DOG HAD AN ACCIDENT AFTER GETTING HIS SHOTS. HIS ACCIDENT OCCURED ON THE FLOOR IN THE WAITING ROOM. THE VET KICKED HIM FOR PEEING. MY HUSBAND GOT UPSET AND TOLD HIM THERE WAS NO NEED TO KICK OUR DOG. THE VET TOLD MY HUSBAND THAT WE HAVE NO CONTROL OF OUR DOG BECAUSE HE PEED. AGAIN THIS IS AN OUTDOOR DOG WHO WAS SCARED AFTER GETTING SHOTS. IN EITHER CASE I TOLD HIM WHAT KIND OF VET KICKS A DOG. LIKE HIS KICK WOULD TEACH OUR DOG TO NEVER PEE INSIDE AGAIN. MY DOG LEFT THERE YELPING BECAUSE HE WAS SCARED. HOW DARE HE THINK ITS OK. WE WERE NOT THERE FOR HIM TO KICK HIM INTO OBEDIENCE WE WERE THERE FOR MEDICAL SERVICES. HE TOLD US HE WOULD WAIVE THE CHARGES FOR THE SERIVICES AND FOR US TO LEAVE, HE DID THIS SHOUTING AT US. HE KICKED US OUT FOR BEING UPSET. I CALLED THE ANIMAL CONTROL AND FILED A REPORT. IF HE WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN FRONT OF US WHAT DOES HE DO WHILE OWNERS ARENT AROUND. Read Less

This vet is great! When you first get there you will find that they have two entrances. One is for the cats and the other is for the dogs. They never see each other, unless they are walking in or out of the clinic. The staff is very polite and knowledgable. When they treated my dog, they waited until he was no longer aggitated. They waited until he was calm, and this is saying something considering that my dog is a Jack Russel Terrier. They would constantly pet him just to reassure him. The doctor was very thourough and explained to me exactly what was wrong and how it needed to be treated. At the end, they gave my dog a beggin strip as a treat for being so good. I also boarded my dog here. They treated him well. He almost didn't even want to come home. They had to pick him up and hand him to me so I could get him outside!
