This facility is truly Godsend! I recently had to take my pup in for a second opinion once I left a pet hospital in Stone Oak who tried to charge $13k for surgery and upon examination from Deason they would offer the same treatment for $2k. I don't know why I did not come to Deason to begin with but most definitely will not make that mistake again. The staff is beyond amazing and Dr. Sean and Dr. Deason are so passionate and thorough that this world would be a better place for our animals if we had more Vets like them. I can not express it enough how amazing they are and will be part of their family for any and every part of my animals lives 🙌 Read Less

This place was recommended to my husband and I by numerous people in town, we just moved here to town in June, and I am so happy we chose to bring our baby calves here. My husband took in our baby girl "Ellie" since I was working, and "Dr. Stevens" was her VET! My husband was so happy with the service, from the receptionist and vet techs "Shana and morgan," to the veterinarian. We are just so grateful for you Dr. Stevens that Ellie got home and is feeling better, her fever looks like it broke from the time leaving to her being back home. We have definitely found a forever Vet for all our cattle. Thank You again Deason Hospital for the 5 Star hospitality. We are happy will the outcome. Don't make a mistake and lose you cattle just bring them on in here!! Read Less

As I was backing the trailer thru the opening, the tech pushed the gate directly into the trailer. I know it was a mistake, mistakes happen. But you wait until the trailer isn't moving to close the gap. When we told the office what happened, Dr deason walked out, looked at it, flippantly said sorry and walked away. Refusing to take any responsibility for the damage to my trailer caused by his employee??? Very poor customer service by the owner of this business. Read Less

I have taken my 3 dogs to Deason because they came highly recommended. In return, I have also recommended them to others. I drive over an hour and a half each way to do so. I will no longer do so. I work in healthcare. I am an administrator. I am well aware of what it takes to run a successful practice and provide exemplary customer service. That being said, we can’t always get it right. However, it is your job to not only take care of your patients but also take care of their owners. One of my dogs needed surgery. I was quoted a certain price. I confirmed that price over the phone when they called to tell me they needed to add lab work at an additional price. When I arrived to retrieve my dog, I was told to pay a bill that was 4 times the price that I had been quoted. The staff members had quoted me an incorrect price. I requested to speak to an office manager. Paige Deason (who I assume is the owner’s wife) came to speak to me about it. While I don’t expect them to honor an extremely discounted price, I do expect them to attempt to make it right. She was both abrasive and rude and absolutely refused. Then, she tried to accuse me of doctor shopping stating that I had been provided with an exorbitant quote in San Antonio and should consider myself lucky. Had she bothered to look in the file, she would have known that they have always treated my dog and I do not have such a quote. My advice to everyone is this: Get everything in writing from them and if the price is still not honored be prepared to pay more. They will not budge and you and your beloved pet are nothing but a number. They do not take ownership of their mistakes and their management is lacking in professionalism. Read Less

Words of wisdom, don’t use this vet. I recently moved to the area and had a dachshund who was 15 and her health was failing. On March 16 I had to have her put down. They asked me about cremation which I wanted so they gave us some paperwork to contact the cremation company they deal with. So we left the clinic and went home that evening. Mind you I was scheduled for surgery this same day, which got canceled and my daughter I live with has 2 children under 2. She attempted to contact the cremation company and pay for the service (as your pet doesn’t even get picked up until you pay) online. She thought she paid and we waited for her ashes. We called Deason’s office several times to see if she was back from the crematorium. Every time we just got “she’s not back yet”. No research re: the status of my pets ashes was ever done by Deason. Now, a month later I call the crematorium to find out where she is and when she will be delivered. They responded they had no knowledge of my pet and that they never received any money. So she called Deason and they informed her(not us, even after numerous phone calls to them) that my baby was still in the freezer. Which I found hard to believe, that a vet would keep a body for a month and wouldn’t have disposed of it or that they didn’t call us to inquire what we planned on doing with her. So of course I doubted that she was still really there. Concerned that they lost my pet and/or they were just going to give me some ashes that weren’t hers. I called deason myself and asked to speak w/whoever is in charge(which was Paige Deason), which I stayed on hold for 15 minutes waiting for her. When she answered she seemed agitated and rude. I went thru what had been going on for the last month and she was neither apologetic or kind. She complained about having to go to the freezer to look fore my baby, as I asked for verification that she was really there. She could only tell me how busy they had been and that employees were supposed to check the freezer once a week. When I asked if I could come verify that she was really there and MY baby(not someone else’s before I pay $130 to have her cremated) she got even more inappropriate. She told me “yes. You can come in and get her and take her home with you and even thaw her out. She’s in the bottom of the freezer in a black trash bag, but I’m not opening the trash bag”. So long story short I am having HOPEFULLY my baby cremated. The whole conversation she turned this situation around and put all the blame on us. My daughter thought she went to the website and paid(however, caring for 2 small children, I guess she was confused and the payment was not processed. Paige showed ZERO professionalism and took zero ownership of an inadequate staff who never did their jobs. If you are looking for compassionate care Don’t GO HERE!!!! Read Less

RUN in the other direction. Not only is this clinic horrendously overpriced, but we witnessed their ineptitude allow my wife's young German Shepherd to die right in front of us as the incompetent staff giggled their way through a supposed medical procedure. I have a background as both a vet tech and a paramedic, and I've never seen anything like this. My attempt to meet with Wayne Deason to discuss this problem was met with complete indifference. You are doing your animals a terrible disservice if you use this vet clinic. Complete incompetence and lack of concern. Seriously...run. I suspect they use a service to post positive reviews, as I live locally and couldn't find this many people to say good things about Deason on a dare. This is only my suspicion, however. I suggest you read the negative reviews carefully and look for a common thread. Read Less

Dr Deason is amazing. I got a free dog who turned out to have bad mange, ear infections, and other issues. I took him here per recommendation and Dr Deason personally called me to talk about the cheapest route and what to do. I have taken my sweet dog there every time a vet visit is needed since, and it's now an hour drive from me. Worth it! The staff has been always been very sweet and nice even during busy times and know how to handle my dog who gets a little to excited around new people. My dog is now a happy healthy 4 year old thanks to them. Read Less

I was going to go into the long and drawn out story of my experience with this vet but it is too much to put down, too lengthy to want to read. It's a small town and not very many choices for vets. I have spent thousands with these people. Not another dime will I give them. They may give good service to choice customers but from the start I have never been impressed. Today's mistake, their mistake, has cost me $500 plus to just go in limbo with my bank. On top of that it was expected to keep on trying until they got it right. Do they take responsibility for their mistake? Of course not. This is a business that is more concerned with what they can get from you than what quality service they can provide customers. So it was either leave the bank card with them or leave the pets. They called it good faith. I am finished with this vet. Sooner or late it will happen to you too. And to top it off they never offer an apology for their mistake. Sometimes that's all it takes. But just be fore warned using this vet will eventually become a regret for you.I would not even offer 1star but it won't post unless I give 1 Read Less

If you have a furry little friend and are looking for, not a good vet but a great vet then go to this place. My husband was suggested to go to this place by a coworker and I'm so glad we went ahead and checked it out. We drove over 30 minutes out of the way to take are dog to get his ears cropped and microchipped at this location and it was absolutely worth the drive. They did an excellent job with the cropping and were very open to us giving them an exact picture of what we were looking for to have done. The work came out great and our dog had absolutely no problems with the healing process at all. They are so reasonable priced as well. They don't try to take an arm and a leg which was great. That played a big roll on us taking a chance with them and driving so far out of the way coming from San Antonio. Everyone there was beyond friendly. I would have reviewed sooner but I wanted to make sure at our dog's follow up appointment we got the same friendliness without them being bias due to my great review I'm giving them and sure enough the same kindness from the moment you walk through the door. Even our dog seem to appear like he was happy to have gone back which means the night we had to leave him over there they had to have treated him just as well. Which is so very important considering you are looking for someone who is going to be caring for them and their well being. They definitely earned their 5 stars. I personally would give them more if I could. Read Less

Well my baby girl Phaedra is in doggy heaven now. I took her into Deason Animal Hospital on Monday and they diagnosed her with parvo. (I'd just like to say that from the beginning I told them I'd rather put her down than her be in pain of they thought she didn't have a chance or would be in to much pain.) I was there everyday on lunch and after work to see her and everyday Dr. Appel and the vet tech Lisa were telling me, "Yeah she's getting better but she can't go home yet." On Saturday her fever had gone down and she was no longer lethargic or with Diarrhea so they told me, "She can probably be home by Monday or Tuesday." On Sunday morning Dr. Scott called and told me that she was having really bloody Diarrhea which was a step back and that she was, "By no means out of the woods." (Which is different than what the other 2 girls had been telling me) on Monday the girls said it was still bloody but that it wasn't really a big deal because it was the process of parvo. I asked if she was in pain because I would rather put her down than just have her there hurting prolonging her death and pain and they told me no. On Tuesday evening they called me and told me that she would probably be ready to go home on Wednesday but they would let me know the next day for sure. When I went in today on my lunch they asked if I was ready to pick her up and said she was good to go. So after work I went and bought her a new collar and leash and blankets so she would be fresh. I went to the vet and they said "she's all ready to go!" They handed me her leash and said I could go. She was so skinny from all the weight she had lost and was walking sideways stumbling over her own feet but they said she just needed to gain some weight and get some TLC. They didn't even offer to help me get her in the car (she's a great dane mind you and I have a ford escape that's kinda high off the ground) I had to try to help her push herself onto the floor of the backseat and then help her up onto the back seat. We made the 25 minute drive home where she came and loved on her grandma (my mom) and kissed grandpa with licks (my dad) and laid her head on his for a good few minutes before she fell on the floor and started heaving. Right away I called Deasons and they said "oh sorry to hear that if you'd like to bring her back in that is on you but we'll have to start a new bill for you (I just paid them $900 and no compassion in their voice) and if you bring her in after 8 we'll have to charge you a past hour charge, we can take a message for the vet who helped you but she's not in right now and won't be back for an hour but you can see another vet if you want." Well OKAY. THANKS ALOT. When I walked back into the livingroom she was standing by the door so I opened it so she could walk out. She walked down the steps and collapsed on the grass where after about 3 minutes she fought for her last breaths and passed in my mom's arms. Me and my parents both are hurting bad from this and my boy Theseus as well. He was so happy when he smelled her on me and his butt went crazy with wags. I just don't understand how they could of let her be in pain like that and let her continue to be that way and then release her like that. She was my baby and my parents grand baby. Our dogs are family to us and we would never do this to a person. This is the first and last time I will EVER take a pet to Deasons. It hurts us even more because she was gasping for air here in our arms and she didn't deserve to go that way. Thanks Deason. Thanks a lot. For prolonging her suffering for money. Read Less

Always a healthy boy. After his shots this year he quit eating. I took him in and a preliminary diagnosis of Addison's disease was made. He was given Prednisone and responded well. Then Samson quit eating again. This time without me realizing his usual vet was off Samson was seen by a different vet who did not stick with the original diagnosis and sent for blood work. The vet staff botched the first blood work. They didn't call me I had to call them. My dog had not ate fir over a week and looked emancipated. I kept calling the vet and oh as long as he is drinking water he is OK. Finally I had enough. A friend recommended Deason's. I took him in at 8 pm. His diagnosis was Addison's disease with acute kidney failure. The entire team and staff have been wonderful to me and have given Samson the best care ever in his life from a medical team. Allow me to make some assertions as to the character of this establishment/the owner and then I will elaborate on our experience to support my claims: 1) you can NOT trust Deason's to do what they say they will 2) the owner does NOT respect his customers or their property 3) Given these first two items, you can NOT trust them with your animals if you care about their well-being. My wife and I were planning our vacation and began calling around to find a dog kennel for our three dogs, whom we view as members of the family - our furry children.  We pass Deason's every day and so they were one of the first we called.  One of our main concerns was finding someone who would be willing to feed our dogs the raw food diet that they have been on the last year.  I put my dogs on this diet after doing extensive research about the benefits of the diet and finding the safest practices and have seen nothing but positive health effects since.  When we spoke to someone on the phone we explained what was required they indicated that they would be glad to oblige our request.  When I arrived to drop the dogs off the day we were leaving for vacation, I waited in line for about 45 minutes before I was able to speak to someone.  I lined out the specifics of their diet and showed them how each meal was separated into ziplock bags and labeled and gave clear instructions as to when the frozen meat should be pulled and put into the refrigerator.  I left written instructions with the bag.  I was assured that there would be no issue.  What I left them with was roughly $150 of premium meats and vegetables that took the better part of the day to buy, prepare, label and separate. Two days into our vacation we received a call from a vet at Deason's informing us that one of our dogs had a case of bloody diarrhea.  They said that they were switching her to a dry food diet because they were worried that there may be something wrong with the meat and had taken a fecal sample to check for e. coli but had not received the results as of yet. We heard nothing else after this and assumed that all was well. Upon picking up the dogs I was relieved to find them well, although notably skinnier than when I dropped them off.  I was told that there was no evidence of E. coli and that the bloody diarrhea incident was due to a bacterial imbalance.  Since it was not a case of tainted food I asked where the food I had left was.  I was informed that they had been fed dry food despite our agreement for almost the full duration of their stay.  Upon hearing this I asked that they bring me the meat that should still be in the freezer as it would not have spoiled.  After some looking around it was found that it had all been tossed in the garbage without calling us first because "it was in the way".  To me this was a blatant disregard for our agreement and represented a complete lack of respect for my property for which I should rightfully be given some amount of reparations.  I raised these concerns and a supervisor pulled their paperwork and said "you didn't write down the instructions" I informed her that no one had told me to write instructions there and that I had given them vocally and left written instructions with the food.  She walked off and after about 15 minutes I was greeted by a large, stern-faced man at the counter whose shirt indicated that he was the owner and whose facial expression and tone did not hide the annoyance he was experiencing at having to deal with me.  I explained the situation to him and told him that if I was ever going to bring any of my four animals back for vet/boarding services that they needed to do something to give me some assurance that this isn't how they do business and that they respect their customers.  Mr. Deason said "I'm not giving you a hundred and fifty bucks.  Just not going to happen.  It's in the trash, sorry."  I said "i understand. That's fine. But, if I am going to be back I need at least a credit towards our next visit."  He smirked and said, I'll give you twenty bucks credit." I told him that he could keep that and left. I do NOT recommend Deason's based on the disrespectful dismissal of my legitimate complaints and advise you look elsewhere for animal services in the Floresville, TX area. Read Less

Nothing I tried would work. We've even had the yard sprayed a few times. Nothin. Somehow he still gets over run with fleas. He's a strictly inside kitty so I have no idea where they're coming from. Anyways, got his rabies shot updated and a Comfortis pill all for under 35$ and he's been happy and flea free for about 5 days now! VERY excited we finally found some relief for him. I'm not sure where to start. I have 19 years vet tech experience and I would have never gave the impression that I got from this clinic. I felt like My business was an inconvenience to the staff. Dr. Scott (I think) was recommended to me by a breeder to do my pot belly pig spay. Not many clinics do this so I drive an hour to and from this clinic to bring my four legged child to be dropped off for surgery. At first walk in I felt like no one wanted to help me. The receptionist asked several techs if they could take my pet back but everyone was busy doing something else. I visualized at least 10 staff walking around behind the counter. After about 30 minutes of waiting a young girl came to take my girl back. I reminder her that I was promised she would remain indoors( I was told on 2 phone conversations and 2 times during check in) when I reminded the young lady she was to be inside she quickly stopped and said we'll hold on I need to check with the lead tech then. After another 15-20 minutes someone finally came out and said they put together a pop up kennel for her. My question is if her being indoors was no problem why was a last minute pop up kennel produced. So, pick up day came and the same treatment is felt my the reception staff. Sorry, but if someone gives you a $270 bill, (which is fine I exoected) I expect at least eye contact and a smile. This lady swiped my card threw down my receipt and told me to sign while she disappeared somewhere.after payment my pet was produced about 20 minutes later. After I watched many other waiting. I also witnessed an elderly woman trying to get her 60 pound dog on the scale while the 20 something girl behind the counter watched. I assisted the lady with her dog. I am not questioning the care my pet has received as its barely been 24 hours, but if these people don't care about the humans behind the leashes, how can they care about our pets. Read Less

I called to find out pricing on medical attention for my dog. I was told that it would be between $500 to $1,000, because it is what they tell everyone, before they actually see the animal. O.K. Seemed a little steep, so I asked Mrs. Deason for the opportunity to speak with Doctor Deason, the owner, so as to work out a payment plan or discount, being involved in part time missionary work. I was told in no uncertain terms, that they already help their church, and that I should not use God to milk people. What kind of thing is THAT to say? Maybe I should have told him the longer version. I just lost my aged mom, had a serious accident soon after and my wife and I are just getting back on our feet. I am giving this a 2, because as a Christian who loves the Lord deeply, 1 would be too strong, although I am very hurt and offended. I have been through a lot and I know God loves me. This review does not reflect physician competence. Public relations is what is being discussed here. For economics, one should never be treated as a lesser human being nor disrespectfully in any way.Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

I had an emergency due to my Frenchies getting into a product they shouldn't have. I called & spoke with Dr. Teresa Gilmore, DVM. She reassured me it would be okay, & to come straight in. One of my favourite moments was Dr. Gilmore introducing my girls to her new girl. A fellow European Frenchie. It was the first time my girls remained calm. It was so cute. Dr. Gilmore has a couple of patients until we PCS back to Europe. I've had nothing but negative from other "country" vets. So, it is very refreshing to be treated, dare I say, like family. My faithful companion Samson was being treated at a different clinic for over a year ( we moved here from Marble Falls). Samson is a little over three years and a Shar pei Mastiff mix. I so appreciate Dr. Scott Stevens and the night vet from Wednesday plus the techs!! God bless you allRead Less

Read Less
