Dr. Wolf and her team were AMAZING!! I have a dog on a banfield wellness plan, but am a new cat parent. I made the mistake of taking the cat to a different vet, who gave me a grim possible diagnosis and did bloodwork and tests. This cost $300. Then they were unresponsive when I called, 3 times, asking for the test results, and when he started getting sick. So I did what I realized I should have done to begin with! I took him to Banfield and they worked miracles! They called the lab where the other vet sent the bloodwork to get the results, gave us the results, and treated him on the spot. He hasn't had a single symptom since and I literally sleep better knowing what's going on with him. They also ran another very important test the first vet missed. Unfortunately they had to deliver some bad news, but Dr. Wolf did so with amazing tact and composure. And I can still sleep well knowing what his diagnosis is, and that there are doctors and staff that work so hard and are so kind. I CANNOT recommend this banfield more highly. Read Less

This place is ridiculous. I've been trying to work with them for the past 3 months. My boyfriend found & took in a stray dog. I brought him to the Banfield on Belt Line Rd in Addison initially, where he tested positive for heartworms. Signed up for the wellness plan because I figured it would be cheaper in the long run. Maybe with the wellness plan you don't have to pay for clinic visits and some vaccinations are included, etc. But today at this location, 2 MONTHS into treatment for heartworms (after antibiotics and steroids) they call and say the vet "thinks he may need an X-Ray"... Thinks?? He either does or he doesn't need this $180 X-Ray for this condition that could already have been far enough along to maybe not even worry about treatment... If you think he may need it, START with that. Don't tack it on 2 months & hundreds of dollars into this treatment plan. The total today was supposed to be over $400, including a procedure he may or may not need. I've done plenty of research that says an X-Ray is an expensive way to see pretty much nothing when it comes to heartworms. This is AFTER they've had him waiting for 2 hours... Told me to drop him off before 9, then they call me at 11 saying that they needed to give me a quote first before they did anything. When I asked why I was told to bring him in before 9 the tech says ... "I don't know..." This happened at the Addison location too, when they said to bring him in for the first treatment injection and that he would have to be kept all day... Called back at noon saying to come pick him up, the injection is next time. Again: WHY. At both locations they were never able to answer my questions concerning the treatment, costs, timing, etc. even if I did call when the doctor was available. I was getting told different things EVERY time I brought him in. This is a stressful enough situation, but it makes matters worse that there is such a serious communication breakdown amongst ranks here, and it seems like it's not limited to one location. I will absolutely not be bringing our dog back here and I'm horrified that I ever did. Possibly fine for initial visits, vaccinations, etc but if your pet has a serious condition, take them somewhere you can trust. This place is a joke. Read Less

I am in the process of moving myself and my two cats to Honolulu Hawaii. It has been the most complicated and stressful situation to get these kitties papers in order because Hawaii has such strict laws on animal importation. Dr Cotter was so nice in assisting me. The first Dr I saw was very helpful as well, but Dr Cotter is the one who gave me the health cert for the plane and was able to get my cats all ready for the trip. Also the gal at the front desk who checks everyone in was very sweet and she even remembered my cats' names and said hi to them when they meowed. Traveling is stressful and vet visits can be stressful, but thank you to Dr Cotter and his team for making today a little better for my fur babies and me. Read Less

My dog developed a bald spot recently. Not sure if it was simply some bug bites or more serious skin malaise, so made an appointment with Banfield to see vet. The vet quickly confirmed that it was simply bugs' bites. However, mysteriously, my dog was still prescribed with a big bottle of antibiotics - worth of two weeks dosage, with 4 pills a day. Cost: about $50! Did not pay too much attention on spot about medicine. But at home, when I tried to give medicines to dog, I found out all those are capsules only suitable for human! You know, those kind of shining, colorful, plastic-like capsules. How the heck a dog is going to eat those? And then, it came to my mind a question: why the dog needs so much antibiotics for several simply bug bites? I guess I must have behaved way too nave there, or simply the guys got an impression that I was stupid enough. Dude, even if I were stupid, it is simply immoral to cheat on stupid people! I take a look at myself in a mirror, as I am doing right now. Dude, anyone who thinks this person in the mirror is stupid, must really need to get his/her brain checked!!! Read Less

Usually very good place. Today was a different story. First, I brought my cat because of diarrhea. They kept him for nearly 12hours. Even though the cat has always used the litter box, he some how pooped in his carrier. The carrier was returned wet with smears of waste. Poop on his harness and leash. The carrier stained my pants when I took him to the car. I asked if a litter box was available, they told me 'it should have been'. The fact that my cat sat in a cage for so long is upsetting. When I called I specifically asked how long it would take to see him and was told he would be one of the firsts since he was sick. If given the choice, I would have paid another vet's price to ensure my cat was seen after a weekend with an upset tummy. My cat is so laid back that I can walk him on a leash into the vet's office. But now he has been reduced to a cat who wastes on himself in his carrier. Ridiculus!Read Less

I can't say enough good things about the Banfield location in Flower Mound. The staff is amazing and Dr. Konda - well there aren't words to describe how much this man cares about our pets. We've had four pets on the Wellness Plan and I can't believe the amount of money it's saved us.  The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure the procedures are as affordable as possible, and are SO nice about getting me in an out fast when I check in and out.  I have a horrible allergy to animal hair, and they let me drop off/pick up even for short procedures. Dr. Konda always meets me at the desk so I won't get all sniffly. The most important thing they've done was to love our cat Milo like he was one of theirs. Sphynx require somewhat different care.  Dr. Konda made sure to read up on the special anesthetic they require, the vaccines they can and can't have, etc.  He diagnosed Milo's congenital heart defect, which most vets miss in young Sphynx, and made sure that he had the extra care that the condition requires. There is no cure for Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and at 8 when Milo was paralyzed by a blood clot, Dr. Konda took care of him.  Ever had a vet tear up almost to the point of crying because he had to put your cat down?  I have. Our new Sphynx kitten, Levi also gets treated like a little prince at this location.  We've had them call and reschedule appointments because Dr.Konda wants to see him personally. This is the best clinic you can possible take your pets to.  I don't know anything about other Banfield locations, but the Flower Mound office is absolutely amazing. Read Less

I took my dog here but that is done. The staff are so unorganized that I am afraid to drop her off because they can't even figure out what they are supposed to do. A month ago, I made an appointment for a comprehensive exam, including vaccinations. I dropped her off and was told she had an appointment to get her teeth cleaned, and that I'd have to wait a month for the comprehensive. So, I got her teeth cleaned and set an appointment for a comprehensive. In the meantime, I get two phone calls wanting to set appointments for the comprehensive - each time they have her down for another dental appointment.  When I pointed this out the on the last call, I was berated by some brat who told me I would have to stay for the entire comprehensive and couldn't drop my dog off (I've never had to do this before).  I have yet to speak to someone who is not rude. I'm not taking my pet here to be poked and prodded by rude incompetents who are doing God-knows-what to my dog.  Pets are in the precarious situation of not being able to correct the vet's (or the staffs') mistakes. It's just not worth the potential damage to take your pet somewhere they could potentially face so much harm because the staff is careless and unorganized. Read Less

I brought my two kittens here for fleas, they gave me Revolution, which didn't work. I was sure to treat my home as well as the cats, but nothing was working. I went back the next month for more and it again did not work, this time I called to complain and they said to bring them in so they could apply it themselves. It still did not work, no change whatsoever. I ended up buying Advantage and I noticed some of the fleas dying off, but not entirely. I found out why about a week later when I brought my cats in for another visit to find out they had weighed them wrong and they were over 5lbs. At this point I said I had found spots of blood on the floor where my one cat had just been, I explained the situation and the age of my cats over the phone beforehand and was told I could sign up for the Wellness Plan which included urine testing and was only 25.99 a month. When I went in I was told that my cats were too young for this specific plan and they refused to let me sign up, so I was signed up for the kitten plan, not told it would cost more, and paid out the nose for the urine testing as well, only to be told to just give my cats wet food and bring the one who had been tested back in a week. I also found out they could have been signed up for the other plan in a month when they were 6 months old. When I brought him back, the vet noticed when he took my cat out that he was shutting one of his eyes/it looked hurt, he felt his belly real quick and said they needed to do another urine test, which was obviously not included in the wellness plan, didn't check his eye at all. I declined further testing and left, frustrated. By this point the fleas were so bad I realized the spots of blood were from their feces and it was literally all over my bathroom. I bombed and cleaned my entire home and treated them with Advantage for cats over 5lbs. I continued to try to resolve the problem myself, but with no help from the incompetent staff at the Flower Mound Banfield who barely examine your pet and don't know WHAT products and services they offer! As for my cats eye, I applied a warm compress and that thankfully worked. I am appalled. I would also like to add that during the course of this INFESTATION of fleas, I was told by every vet at this location that they didn't "see" any fleas. Uhhhh? One of my cats is ALL BLACK! He is so dark I sometimes don't even see him right next to me. They never once took a comb to them to check! Because of the fleas they also developed tapeworms and were given Praziquantel ONCE. THEN EXPLICITYLY STATED THEY DID NOT NEED IT AGAIN. They were checked for worms on their last visit a week ago SUPPOSEDLY and I was told they did not have them, but a week later they were basically SHOOTING out of them uncontrollably, so so much for that! I took them to Denton Texas Banfield for fear of going back to Flower Mound and because I figured I was still on this plan so I might as well take advantage of the "free office visits and deworming". For one, I was informed by Denton that tapeworms weren't included in the free deworming, of course, and furthermore that they should have been administered a second dose of Praziquantel by Flower Mound a month after the first. Thankfully they were a bit more professional at this location. I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint asking for the wellness plan to be canceled and for a refund. I then spoke with Christina at Banfield Flower Mound who agreed to cancel the wellness plan but refused to refund ANY of what I was charged stating that they treated the problems appropriately which is absurdly incorrect. She did not address any of the points I brought up in my complaint, denied that the cats needed two shots of dewormer and that Denton was wrong in saying they did, but then contradicted herself and said they did need further deworming, did not admit that they were wrong in how they treated my pets in any way, that they were treated incorrectly, unnecessarily, and that their treatment of them exasperated their health problems. Banfield Flower Mound should NOT be treating animals, period. You know a company sucks when they actually have someone who's job is to go around doing damage control on online review sites. Look at all of their US listings on here and you will see similar replies. But no one at corporate took my calls or solved my complaints despite the speedy response to my Yelp review to try and save face.. Read Less

I began bringing my foster dogs to this Banfield due to the escalating costs at my regular vet. I was a little leery, at first, because they are in Petsmart but I soon realized what a gem they are. They have donated a lot of time to help me get these fosters healthy for adoption and have gone above and beyond to help me save money. Dogs coming out of shelters are always sick, it seems, so working with them has helped my costs immensely. But not just the cost, I feel they have provided excellent care and spend a lot of time with the dogs, examining them and understanding their health issues. I have yet to receive a misdiagnosis from them. So thank you Dr. Darcy and Dr. Konda for caring about every dog you see. Because of this, I am switching my personal dogs to them, as well. Read Less

This location of Banfield stands out among its peer locations.  Dr Konda and Dr Cotter both helped my pet through a very rough patch of illness.  With the help of an allergist from ADRC, Animal Dermatology Referral Clinic, Dr. Liska and the Banfield team are returning my pet to full health after six months of being sick.  As with any doctor, we have had to carry our paperwork with us to each visit and do some research on our own.  But this location, has remained sensitive to the escalating costs of tests and medications and has managed to find the balance between what is necessary to diagnose and treat my pet and what we can leave out to save money.  Other locations have felt like they are pushing  unnecessary products on us for their benefit rather than my pet's benefit.  Not so here.  And the staff has been patient, kind and understanding.  I've not felt comfortable with the doctors at all of the Banfield locations but, this one has two vets that appear to be above the norm.  They are definately worth a try.

Read Less

Dr. Cotter and his staff exceeded my expectations.  Each person was very thorough and ensured they responded to my questions and concerns.  I appreciate each person for going above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable dropping my three cats off.  I have used the Flower Mound Banfield before, and I consider each person that I interacted with at this Banfield exceptionally trained and exceptionally capable to treat and handle my pets properly.  Thank you Dr. Cotter for the excellent service!  Thank you to all of the staff that helped me with making the appointments, checking the cats in, getting the cats settled, taking great care of them during the day, and for a comprehensive check-out!  I highly recommend this Banfield simply because they demonstrated great care!!

I have taken my cat and dog here several times, and am so happy with the service.  I had been taking them to a small clinic, where I got a different doctor every time, and was never given an explanation for their health issues.  I figured I would have the same issue here, since Banfield is a pretty large office.  But my cat has actually seen the same doctor 4 times, and my dog has seen the same doc twice!  And these vets actually tell me what is wrong with them when they're sick.  Amazing.  I recently moved, and there is another Banfield closer to my new place, but I will keep bringing my pets here because of the great service.
