We own 2 labs, 1 American bulldog,& 1 Maltese. The DR.'s here are VERY knowlegable,friendly & REALLY CARE! THE staff is always helpful, friendly & awesome! The Facility is always VERY CLEAN! They performed Emergency surgery on my lab when he cut his side open on my trailer,saving his life! They also performed Emergency surgery on my American Bulldog when she swallowed my kids stuffed animal whole,saving her life! Dr. Nix is incredibly awesome! We & the dogs LOVE HER! But so are all the doctors and staff here. They always call and check on are dogs after any procedure and send postcards and email reminders when shots are due. Update: Practice manager contacted me and apologized, profusely, for the miscommunication. They provided a complimentary appointment to correct the issues addressed below. They've earned a customer for life! Friendly Staff, unfortunately communication is less than stellar and bordering on deceptive. Transferred from another vet who always included heart worm test, lab work and vaccinations as part of the annual exam. I assumed a wellness exam would include all the same items, at Forney Animal Hospital. Well, you know what happens when we assume. A week after the exam, I received an e-mail stating that my dog was due for a heart worm test. When I received the e-mail , I was sure it was just a mistake or automatically generated email. I called and asked if the heart worm test is not part of their annual exam and was told that it typically is, but their notes showed that I declined it and said that I would come back later for blood work and tests...which I 100% DID NOT. The employee, on the phone, quoted that it would be another $85 plus lab fees to come back and have a heart worm test administered. My previous vet is in Rockwall and not as convenient, but the communication and care were always stellar...so it will be worth the drive in the future to know that my baby is well cared for and that I'm well informed of the care he is getting. I have been to a lot of vet clinics in my years owning dogs and this clinic is simply the best. From the front office staff, to the techs to our vet... the compassion and true caring that was shown to our Ozwald is first class. Ozwald is old and sliding down hill fast. They accommodated us with a semi emergent appointment. Spent all the time we needed with us, walked us through a treatment plan and gave us hope that we'd have him with us for a bit longer. Amazing.  I have been taking my dog here for the last year and a half.  He is not the luckiest pup, we rescued him when he was in the middle of heartworm treatment, a few months later he got on the table (which we didn't know he could do) and ate all the holiday chocolate, a few months later he was bitten by a copperhead while we were walking in the park.  You get the idea my pup is curious and has bad luck. The staff is amazing and I mean the whole staff is amazing, every person in that building genuinely cares about my dog, and me (I was a mess when he was bitten, they were calm, and very understanding of my state of mind) they called me with updates throughout the day and let me come in to hang out with him while he was still getting fluids.  Needless to say all the vets in that building are fantastic at their job (we've seen all them), they are busy, but never too busy for an emergency, and their pricing is the fairest I have ever encountered.  I cannot say enough nice things about them, but mostly I trust them with my dog, who is our furriest family member, and that is the highest praise I can think to give. We only saw Dr. Chambless every time we went. He showed my Hershey bear so much love and respect. He was always very thorough in his explanations and always gave you every option. After her Lymphoma diagnosis he was very supportive and when the time came for her to cross over Rainbow Bridge he took time to talk with our family helping us know we were doing the right thing. The little extra care and love from this vet during this time for both our fur baby and us is appreciated more than I could ever express in a review. Forney Animal Hospital was simply amazing. They got us in quickly. Sadly we had to put our lab Buddy to sleep. They were very understanding and considerate. Very nice people.  Just needed to get my dogs updated on shots for a new rental and being new to TX and heartworm territory, a preventive.  Walked out with all the paperwork and 3 months of Spectrum for 2.  $380. Fast forward 3 months. Need more Spectrum.  Come on by, no problem!  $360.  No way!Check 1800PetMeds, way cheaper, I think $125.  PM asks vet for approval, vet says no.  No retest should be required after just 3 months. Vet doesn't inquire or inform me of the denial.My dogs are now unprotected because all I can think is the vet needs money? Read Less

I love Forney Animal Hospital! They love our babies, and even managed to watch our somewhat aggressive shepherd/chow mix for a week while we went to Canada. Have had many vets over the years and my husband and I agree Dr. Chambless is our favorite. He takes time to explain things to you, gives you all the options with no pressure, and really does seem to care. The prices at Forney Animal Hospital are very fair, you never leave there feeling like they took advantage of the fact you are going to do whatever you can to help your 4 legged family member. The waiting room is huge with a separate area for dogs and cats. Appointments are spread out so you don't have to wait more than a couple of minutes. They even have online appointment scheduling. My baby is fighting Parvo right now. I took him here after calling multiple places who only accept appointments. Yes they prefer appointments but didn't shove my baby who needed help away. I walked in and let them know what was going on, as they where busy with the other animals who had appointments they got my baby to a room and tested with in 15 minutes as they know this is a serious virus. Not even 5 minutes of confirming my baby had parvo They came in and did his first treatment. They let me know what all my options where and how to handle him. I go back up there today to follow up on treatment as I chose the out patient treatment. I called in the morning with some questions and they where glad to answer them. My Siamese cat Aries has a UT problem. I saw dr Nix , she was both knowledgeable and compassionate. I felt reassured that she would do everything necessary to help my sweet little kitty. My family will be using Forney Animal Hospital as our primary vet for now on. I took my 6 month old German Shepard puppy up there because he was throwing up and had dirrera. Which the dirrera has been a constant problem since we got him. In the last 3 weeks he spent 2 visits and had a bunch of medication and it's in him. Dr Nix has done everything possible to keep him alive. He's lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks and nothing was working. My regular vet kept ignoring that he was having consecutive dirrera, and only treat for worms. After 5 days of ivs and antibiotics major came home on Wednesday and went back on a few days later went back to have xrays done. After results came in major went for surgery. He had a twisted bowl, he stayed for week till they could figure out our mystery. He has now been home a week and has gained 2.8 lbs. We are very thankful our major is home and very excited he is back to his normal self.Read Less

There is no other vet practice that can compare to Forney Animal Hospital. Dr. Nix and Dr. Hammond are very skilled and extremely caring vets. They have gone way beyond the "call of duty" for me and my dogs over and over again. Their expertise is phenomenal and they also network with other vet. specialists. Their patience and attitude of caring compassion both for my dogs and for me is so far beyond what is normally given or expected...they are like family to me. All of the staff, (vet techs, front desk, kennel folk, etc.)...everyone there truly cares about my dogs and treats them with total love and special care as if they were the only patients they have. I have been a client for over 17 years and would never take my pets anywhere else. I highly recommend Forney Animal Clinic to everyone I know !! My family are major animal lovers, especially dogs. We have lived in Forney for fourteen years and tried to save a few bucks during that time, trying different veterinary facilities. Having gone 'full circle" we will only use Forney Animal Hospital from now on. With all due respect, we've had no terrible experiences at the other locations, but overall FAH has proven to be the most professional, personable, and successful with regard to treatment, of all the facilities we have used.
