This is over due and after reading some of the reviews I felt I needed to give a shout out to the staff at Alliance Animal Health for the exceptional care given to my best friend in the past month. My pet had to stay in hospital and I went to go to visit him. One day I had to wait over 45 minutes to be taken back to the back hospital to see him. At this time I did not appreciate the time I felt I was waiting when the waiting area had only one other person waiting. After the visit I felt humbled by my "inward complaining" about my wait. When I thought about what I had seen going on during the wait time & in the back of the hospital. The people who work there are working their socks off. Its non stop. If you think that they are sitting around while y'all wait, y'all are completely wrong. I go to my own doctors and wait around 50-60 minutes past my appointment time. The receptionists are constantly on calls, cashing people out, carrying huge bags of food.During my visits there was one receptionist who was loud and kindof leery, in my opinion too loud. That may appeal to some but not me. The others were real nice but busy. The nurses who took care of my buddy were great. I wish I could remember the names so I could shout out to y'all individually but it was a stressful time. I am just glad that they were open and could see my little guy. Great location and most of the staff are awesome. Read Less

I came to this vet due to an emergency with my puppy, I’m happy to say this isn’t my puppy’s actual vet. Worst customer service provided by receptionist “Jenn”. “Jenn” yelled and treated a tech with little respect in front of clients in the lobby area. Not an ounce of professionalism in this lady. She then proceeded to give me an attitude over payment. Tech had explained that no charge was needed since nothing was done, yet “Jenn” felt the need to take an unprofessional route to collect payment. I have no issues paying, even though nothing was actually provided to my pet, but seeing how that receptionist spoke to the tech and then proceeded to treat me with no respect... this business definitely didn’t deserve a penny. The tech acted very professional, and was kind and compassionate. Unfortunately, this establishment hasn’t realized how the unprofessionalism and rudeness of this receptionist can taint a business. Must say I will definitely not recommend this business to anyone. That scene was definitely uncalled for. I hope the tech stood up for herself, because that kind of behavior from a co-worker should not be tolerated. Read Less

A fantastic place. I have been taking my two dogs to Alliance Animal Health Center for five years, and have had nothing but positive experiences. When one of my dogs had a difficult recovery from TPLO surgery, they went out of their way to assist with day boarding to help me monitor his progress. I use their overnight boarding services regularly and trust that my boys are well taken care of while there. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my pets' healthcare needs. Read Less

Just Moved Here- WON'T BE BACK Pros: Location, Ambiance, and ?Adequate vet care? Cons: LONG (40+ min) wait time WITH a (recheck) appointment (scheduled weeks in advance), Lack of Communication, Unapologetic/Rude attitude from receptionist ("J"), Placement in room that was NOT CLEANED=UNSANITARY Too Long Didn't Read Version: First experience mediocre, second was TERRIBLE: 40 min+ wait WITH an APPOINTMENT (for a 5 min recheck), NO COMMUNICATION from front staff, UNSANITIZED ROOM once in, one RUDE receptionist. DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NOT BE BACK. Long Description : For several years our dog has had allergies that manifest as an ear infection in one ear. We just moved the the Keller area last month and chose to go to Alliance based on convenience/ other positive reviews. Our initial experience was pleasant- as I stated adequate vet care received by our dog. I say adequate because we have previously been prescribed Posatex by other vets in the past and it is effective in treating his ear infections and the initial visit was $130- common. HOWEVER, all other vet offices I have been to have a staff with much better demeanor. I understand how wait times/triage works- though I'm not sure if the extended wait time was even due to an emergency AS THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNICATION from staff ( no sorry we are busy, or there are just ___ people in front you, or we just had an emergency- just silence) to us as we waited in the waiting room. After 45 MINUTES OF WAITING AFTER OUR APPOINTMENT (6:45 now) I asked if we could reschedule, at that moment the TECH had our file and the receptionist still asked if we would like to reschedule our recheck...really? If I am about to be seen for recheck of the ear that takes literally is 5 minutes or less of course I would like to walk in now so my dog can be assessed with otoscope and possibly get a temp check (which wasn't taken today)- A FORTY MINUTE WAIT FOR A FIVE MINUTE RECHECK and $39 recheck bill is unfortunate combined with the fact they automatically put us into a room that already stated in red sign on the door "occupied" (the previous dog had come out of) I ASKED THE TECH if the room had been cleaned, she stated the dog was " mostly in the other room and only here for a little bit" THE ROOM WAS NOT SANITIZED - my dog has an autoimmune disorder. The vet, Dr. Brashear, did have good bedside manner and asked how we were upon entering ( though I'm used to vets/ physicians apologizing about the wait if it's been over 30 minutes) I responded,"I'm a little tired from waiting" and he said " We are doing the best we can." Checked my dog's ears and we were out to pay the front receptionist in less than 5 minutes. I asked if it was normal for there to be over a 40 minute wait time for a recheck, she stated " YES, [A FORTY MINUTE WAIT TIME IS NORMAL] when we are busy." I also asked if there is normally a recheck fee of of $39, she said yes ( SEVERAL VETS WE HAVE SEEN BECAUSE OF OUR DOG'S CHRONIC EAR INFECTIONS do charge a little more for the initial visit but do not charge for a recheck fee- just something to keep in mind as a pet owner when looking around for a "family vet" if your pet has a chronic condition). I asked for her name, because I wanted to address the LACK OF COMMUNICATION that was given by front staff about progress time and that is when she really became rude, she refused to give me her name (it was on the receipt) the other receptionist was just quiet. I was told I could call Debbie the manager with my concerns, I am hoping the manager would do good quality assurance by checking reviews. Note: My spouse did mention the initial visit a few weeks ago, the room did smell freshly sanitized and she was seen at her actual appointment time- so maybe this was an "off" day, but to me I am not willing to go through the second negative experience like that ever again. The staff here is so GREAT. This past Monday we had to say goodbye to our beloved the baby Peaches. Dr. Loveless was so compationate when handling her. She didn't even get nervous like she usually did. Poor thing was much sicker than we were aware of. She was not only dehydrated but had lost weight from not eating. We knew that she had kidney problems for the last almost 5 yrs. Well they finally gave out. Dr. Loveless was so gentle with her and made our experience of watching him put her to sleep much easier than we thought it would be. All the years that we took our babies here were very good experiences even the sad ones. Thank you so much for being a GREAT veterinary clinic. Read Less

Place sucks. Took my cat here to be euthanized which is obvioisly emotional and shouldnt be delayed or prolonged. Had the guy almost 13 years. Called first thing in the morning they stated only open appt was 4pm. Fine. Brought him early...around 350 and was put in a room immediately which was good, however the doctor didnt come in for nearly and hour after that. When i mentioned something to the reception they seemed careless and unempathetic as they stared back at me with dull and glazed over eyes.... I had to have another cat put down in southlake a few months ago and staff was much more empathetic which is all people really need in situations such as this. In a world where its hard to find care and compassion, alliance animal health adds to that problem. I recommend avoiding this place. I was not impressed with this place at all.  They have a contact us Area on the website where they give you an email to contact them.  The person who had emailed me back was not very helpful as all she said it was OK call to make an appointment.  Then why even bother having email as an option on the website if I can't communicate with you over email to make an appointment?  After I called I reference the person that I was speaking to you in the email and what I had discussed and the person Who answered the phone with absolutely clueless and made it seem like she had no way to reference the email that I had that with all the details of what I was concerned about with my dog.  I made an appointment to get her teeth looked at because in Google search and on their website it made it seem like this is something they specialize in.  However, at her appointment, they made it clear that this was not their specialty and that they did not do any reconstructive work.  I felt like I was just a number and the only thing that mattered was getting as much money out of me as possible.  They added on a bunch of ridiculous charges for requirements for things that would not be necessary.  For example, in order to treat her tooth they told me that she had to have a Bordetella shot.  I am not big on facts and I think my dog and want to stick to the things that are required like rabies.  I feel that I should have the right to decide whether or not my dog needs a Bordetella shot based how much boarding she's in.  Also, when I left I did not have a clear understanding of what was wrong with her or what the best course of action for me was.   The vet just pretty much rambled for five minutes when I was in there and did not ask me if I understood or clearly answer my questions.  I will not be back and they are not cheap.  This is a case of you definitely don't get what you pay for.  The only reason I did not give them one star is because the facility seemed fairly clean and the person that called to confirm my appointment with pleasant. I did my research and based on reviews thought this would be a good practice to take my rescue dog. At our first visit, we received bad news that our rescue was Heartworm positive. I spoke at length to the vet about the process, procedure, and cost. I even went home and researched further. I decided to pay the almost $900 for the procedure and took Maddie back to the vet. She received a shot, 180 pills for a 30 day period, Heartguard, and a 1-page protocol  sheet which we followed religiously. I called to make her follow-up appointment and they were confused by what Maddie had already had done and what she needed but I was able to make an appointment for her. A couple of days later, I receive a call seeking payment. Since I had already paid, I thought they were just an unorganized practice. When I called today to inform them that I had already paid for the treatment, I was informed that the $900 only covered the 30 days of pills, one shot, and the HeartGuard, and to keep Maddie on the treatment I would need to shell out another $800. I asked why this is the FIRST time I am hearing that the $900 did not cover the entire protocol. No answer. This is the absolute WORST kind of bait and switch I have ever dealt. I am filing a complaint with the Veterinary Board of Texas. I am devastated and appalled at their business practice. This is heartless. Read Less

When we moved here two years ago I absolutely loved this place but now I'm not so sure what I'm going to do! I was so excited to see they had everything we needed in one place veterinary clinic, dog grooming and boarding all under the same roof! Was very convenient! I still will continue to bring my fur-babies in to the veterinarians because I do love them and also I can be there with them and know when they are treated unfairly. However I am very disappointed with the grooming department seeing I gave them strict instructions to not shave my yorkie but to cut her short than last time (which they did but was very choppy and she has pieces longer than the rest of her body) and to cut down the face but not too short (which her legs and face don't even look like they have been touched)! Every time I talk to some assistant they get my instructions wrong but if I talk to the groomer she comes out perfect! I am also upset with the boarding department as my wired hair terrier came home last Friday (after deciding to pick them up a day early) with a gash in her elbow that we have been trying to nurse back to health with triple antibiotic ointment because I don't see why I should have to pay for an office visit due to their mistake. This is the second time she had came home that way and not one person caught it because they obviously don't pay much attention to the animals in their care! I spent almost $300 for a heartworm test on my yorkie along with the crappy grooming, a bath for my terrier and boarding for both dogs sharing their kennel together. Just furious that this is how we are treated! Read Less

This office is an amazing place. Ive had several amazing experiences with them and strongly encourage you, if you are in the market for a new Vet, to take your pet to this office. They are better taken care of than actual humans at their primary doctor. We have two dogs, both older girls. Bella, 10 and Gizmo, 14. When we moved to this area we needed to find a vet. After combing through countless reviews and listening to my gut instinct, I opted to give this office a shot. We took our girls in for a check-up and the vet personally phoned us, we assumed we were receiving bad news about Gizmo. She was older, losing her teeth, and seemingly losing her eyesight as well. To our surprise, it was about Bella, who had all her teeth, her vision, and seemed to be perfectly fine. Bella had a belly full of stones she must have been dealing with for at least a year. This means our previously vet missed this entirely. In addition, this was quite painful to her but she is such a sweet, sweet girl we never knew it. If we hadnt moved, I dont know what would have happened to her. However, we did, and now with a special diet, she is happy and healthy. We did also experience a life-ending episode with Gizmo as well. Giz lost all of her teeth and eyesight. This was of no consequence to her, and still ate kibbles and stomped around the house, running into things. One day after work my Husband arrived home to find her covered in blood in her crate, barely able to move. He rushed her to the office, and the staff immediately took her back. They ran some tests and discovered her organ function was near perfect and that of a much younger dog. It seemed eating the kibbles was causing her digestive problems and her core temperature was several degrees cooler than it should be. Due to her age, it didnt look good. My husband and I prepared to say good-bye to our little angel full of attitude. Through the gentle care of the staff and the vet, they nursed her back to health. She is now feisty, full of attitude, and she eats a can of dog food a day (she is a teacup long-haired Chihuahua so a can a day is quite a bit). We know for a fact if we had taken her to our old vet or to most places, Gizmo would have died. It is truly amazing. Bella hates being groomed and being away from her Mom and Dad, but she will trot happily back with the groomer at this clinic. If you have ever had to face dragging your dog into the groomers, you know why this is so amazing and speaks volume. I have yet to be seen or speak with someone from the front office, from the vet, from the groomers, from the technicians that was anything short of downright pleasant. VERY highly recommended!! After today we are moving all 3 of our animals to another vet. Our cat got into some lilies which are fatal to felines. When I called to try and get an emergency appointment I was told I could get in about 4 hours later. Lilies can kill a cat in less than 12 hours even if they didn't ingest them. The young girl who answered the phone was not knowledgeable, was not compassionate and was not helpful. When I asked her for help because it was an emergency she told me that other people had appointments before me and if I wanted in before that I could go to the emergency vet. She didn't even put me on hold to check with the dr to see if they could get me in. Instead we called the cat hospital in southlake. As soon as I mentioned what was going on the receptionist said "oh no...get him over here right away". When we pulled up they were waiting in the lobby for us and quickly got him in. We have taken our pets to Alliance animal for over 5 years and today they showed me their lack of care and concern. They don't seem to care if it's life or death. After all the years and money we have spent with them I was so disappointed in their actions today. Read Less

Last week my daughters Great pyrenees was attacked by a pit bull during the storm in my own backyard. My daughters dog Rugby has always been playful, energetic and goofy. After, the attack I called several clinics and animal hospitals to find the best rate and service. I finally found the alliance health center. The receptionists was polite and really busy early Sunday morning. She gave me the number to the emergency hospital because she couldn't fit us in until Monday morning. She told me what to feed my dog and how to clean the wounds. Rugby's condition appeared to be worse and his eyes had closed oozing...possible lacerations, several body bites and excessive body bruising. He could barely lay down. The receptionists told be how to clean his eyes, all the wounds. I watched him all night...it was sad to watch him deteriorate and be helpless. The next day I brought him in. The front desk was helpful and caring. It took a lot to hold back tears. The vet said his mouth almost looked like a Shar-Pei due to all the swelling from bites and lacerations to the face. The vet had to sedate him and I dropped him off. He was more alert in a new environment. I called back several times to get an update and the receptionists took my call every time and was never annoyed. She put me on hold to get more information. When I returned to pick him up I met with the tech Katy. She went over all his treatment and told me he was in better shape than he looked. They removed hair from all the bite marks and shaved his face. When my mother and I left the clients in the waiting room were very nice. Everyone cared so much I became a little emotional. The tech Katy S was great. The vet was great. I received better treatment than I expected. The office called the next day to follow up and see how Rugby was feeling. My daughter has gone off to college and she primarily takes care of Rugby. I have been left to take care of her 5 yr old Pyrenees and I honestly didn't want to be responsible for a pet. After this attack I have grown to care about this particular dog. He clings to me sits on my feet, stands behind be if hes scared, hes very obedient and responds quickly if anyone approaches me. I have found that I'm not as selfish as I would like to be. I have changed my thoughts towards this animal. He doesn't annoy me anymore. I take him for walks 3 times a day. I even buy better food. I'm actually excited to take care of him. After paying several hundreds....on this dog(over $400). It was worth it to see him recovering nicely. Alliance Animal Health Center is worth the long drive. I passed serveral clinics which i'm sure would have done a good job. I can only wish everyone could have this experience. The facility is clean, odorless, and the staff was great to work with on every level.Rugby has found a great clinic to call home! Read Less

To me, vets are like mechanics. Once you find a good one you're with them forever. You want someone you can trust since your pet is an important part of the family, and you don't want to feel pressured into buying unneeded things just because you love your pet so much.We took both of our dogs to AAHC for checkups and updated vaccination shots. The facility is very clean, the staff is friendly and they don't push other procedures on you to increase the cost. The couple of techs who assisted us were super nice and were great with the pups. They paid as much attention to our dogs as they did us- which is how it should be. If the tails are wagging then they're doing a good job! The prices are very reasonable, they're open on Saturdays, and both doctors are excellent. We had a simple procedure for our female pup- she needed a small growth removed from an eyelid. The cost was manageable, the staff was very good at explaining the recovery process, and our dog seemed to have been left in very good hands all day.AAHC also offer boarding and daycare for dogs and cats- I saw quite a few people dropping off their animals for the daycare. It's nice to know there are certified vets on call in case something goes awry if you are travelling and board your animals with this clinic. Overall, a very positive experience and we will keep coming back! Read Less

I went to this vet office expecting to see care and compassion. This was not the case...on the first visit I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes past my appointment and nobody ever apologized for the delay. I found the vet to be very matter of fact and in/out without addressing my concerns. They offered to clean my dogs ears without telling me there would be an additional charge until I was leaving and the tech was very rude. I left $200 later and was told that I should come back for a follow up in two weeks at no charge. One of the ladies from the office called my home to see about scheduling this follow up and I explained while my pet was on the medicine she was fine, but my concern was when she stopped taking it. She said for me to hold off on the follow up until after all medicines and shampoos ran out and if the problem persist, then bring her back for the follow up at no charge. As I suspected, as soon as the meds ran out the problem flared up. I immediately called and explained everything to the girl answering the phone. I told her what was previously told to me and she said no problem. Of course, after I show for the visit and am put in the room the tech informed me there would be an office visit. I explained what I was told and she said she had talked to O Gorman and he wanted to charge for the follow up. There was no consideration to what I was told or that the problem was never resolved. She said I could speak with him, but he was in no hurry to see me and I was not going to wait all night to hash out what was communicated by his staff.I found the tech to be RUDE and I walked out. My take away was that this office was more interested in bleeding owners dry than the pets care. It's really sad to take advantage of people in this manner. They do not take notes of phone calls and do not spend enough time to evaluate the animals needs. Read Less

We moved here a year ago and this was the only vet I could find in the area that looked trustworthy. They were okay at first. When I had my chihuahua boarded I took him a blanket and toy, so he could be comfortable and feel at home. They couldn't find his stuff when we picked him up, why? Because they never gave it to him. We now have a Doberman that we WERE taking there also. Every time we went in for her puppy shots we were dropping over $120, every 4wks. Never in my life have I seen a vet charge over $50 for shots. This weekend we boarded the chihuahua and Doberman, which stayed in the SAME kennel for 3 days.  $300!!!!! The chihuahua got 2 shots and s heartworm test that cost us $217!! They also lost their blankets AGAIN! Why do I take my dogs blankets to be comfortable if they are not going to be given to them?!? I am highly pissed that they would not give my dogs their blankets and that I was charged the same price for my chihuahua to be boarded that I did for my Doberman.      The technicians up front also look at me like I'm an idiot when I tell them that my dogs eat as much as they want, whenever they want. This is just a money hungry veterinarian office. Read Less

Avoid at all costs.  I took my Maltese to get his hair cut with specific instructions not to cut him short.  A few hours later I get a phone call - after they already did it - that they had to cut him short because of the matting in his hair.  No heads up, no anything.  They were also extremely rude.  I then go and pick him up and he is cut shorter then I ever could have imagined. With the exception of his face and his tail he was shaved to the point where you could see a lot of skin.  Once again they were very rude and made no effort to explain why on earth it ever had to be that short. So I take him home and from the second he got back he has been extremely uncomfortable.  Something is wrong with his ears as he continually shakes his head and itches them with his feet.  I called the place to tell them this and they had the audacity to try and make me pay to have it looked at when they caused it in the first place. This was just the epitome of laziness from the get-go.  The groomer did not want to wash the dog and brush him out - her job - and instead took the shortcut to just shave him to the skin. The worst part of it though was the way they handled the whole thing.  I understand that things happen but they had no right to even think about doing that without at least running it by me first.  My family has been taking all three of our dogs there for almost 8 years so it's really a shame.  Being rude and evasive on top of it was also completely uncalled for. There are many, many options in the DFW area to take your pets and I strongly advise you to seek one out that isn't this.

Also, stop advertising on my pandora stations, if rather forget this 'business' exists. Read Less

He has been really excellent in both routine and illness care for my furbabies and patient and kind with my questions as well.  All the staff at both locations have been friendly and helpful.  The dogs don't mind coming and are comfortable during the visits.  I especially love the extended weekend hours which were the original reason I had to leave our usual vet after my work hours changed.I also think it's very important that the clinic is clean and actually smells nice.  I was referred by a friend who is as picky as I am, and later I learned that this was the clinic used by my niece before they moved away.

The receptionist was pleasant and that's where the professionalism ended. Waited over an hour to see anyone. The doctor never introduced himself, seemed to have his mind elsewhere when he was examining my pets, and the assistant was a dolt. The bigger problem is that I had been going there for five years and they have taken a nose dive as far as customer service is concerned. Pity, as they were very good at one point even though they had always been too expensive. Read Less

The people are nice, the vets are nice and the atmosphere is inviting and (you guessed it) nice!  What a wonderful place to get your animals checked up.  I certainly appreciate each time I come in to take my dogs.  The biggest thing about this place is that they connect with your pets, be it dog and/or cat.  I could go on and on but you get the jist.  Check them out / give them a call!
