Love the doctor here! She's very patient and knows her stuff. She helped me figure out which medications my dog needed for his degenerative disc disease. Recently moved to the area and from the reviews we chose this vets office and I am sooooo glad I did. They are amazing. Every staff member was friendly and made me and my dog feel super welcome! Great vet. They understand what you want and are not trying to sell you things that aren't important to you and your pet. We originally went here when are dogs were younger then when we moved further north and started seeing  a vet closer to the lake. They were always pushing surgery and unnecessary test and were not considering all options. I have been going to this office for years now and they are all great. My dog Maggie was having kidney problems and they took great care of her. They treated her as if she was one of their own. Yesterday I had to make the decision to say good bye to my sweet Maggie and they were comforting to me and made sure miss Maggie was going to let go peacefully and painlessly. So grateful I found this place!  My dog was not feeling well, but our regular vet was being extremely slow about returning calls and finally said they couldn't get us in til Monday.  I was not going to let my pup be in pain for several days.  I found Chisholm Ridge through a google search.  The staff was so friendly and helpful.  They were able to get me in right away.  Dr Johnston was very kind and gentle.  They saw us quickly without feeling rushed or pressured into extra tests, scans, etc.  I am very happy and will likely become a regular patient, although I hope future visits can just be for regular check ups and not because of a sick puppy. This morning I went in to take my mother's dog to get spayed, a microchip, and vaccines. I spoke with the tech while she grabbed a calculator and told me the cost would be $320ish. I was on the phone with my mother while she told me this. I said yes that is fine and I authorized it. My mother went to go pick her up and the story changed and her price was now $440. I am very livid at the way the staff handled themselves because I have never been treated badly and I have always had a very good understanding with the way their prices work since this is not my first time coming here. We have two other dogs and they have always gone here. The fact that my mom goes in alone and all of a sudden they take advantage of her makes me think they were targeting her as someone they can take advantage of. EDIT: This evening Dr. Russell Johnston called my mother and I personally and apologized for the error that was made and the rude behavior that was demonstrated to my mother. He was very nice and apologetic. I have no problem with him or any of the other doctors and will continue to take my dogs here. In the future I will just ask for a written form of what the price will be, so no further misunderstanding can be possible.Read Less

I've been their customer since 2007 and have always been extremely satisfied. Overnight I was forced to decide that I need to make the hard decision on my 14 year old chihuahua. I called Chisholm Ridge and they worked me into their busy morning. The care and attention that they gave me was so comforting. Losing your best pet friend is never easy but the doc and the staff there made it the best bad experience. Since they were so busy I was worried that I was taking up space in the exam room that they needed to use for other customers and their pets but they gave me all the time I needed to say goodbye. They allowed me to stay there while my daughter drove from her house and helped me make the hard remains decisions. These people are just the most caring and efficient I've ever dealt with. I'm past retirement age and have had lots and lots of pet friends over the years and have been in a lot of vets offices from Georgia, Florida and Texas. This place is great! I went there for the free checkup I got after adopting a dog from the Fort Worth shelter and I liked it more than the place I was going. The front desk girls are super nice and the woman vet (or one of them sorry I don't remember a name) is seriously some kind of cat whisperer. She somehow got my cat to cooperate like he has NEVER done for me. I'm not kidding. He was even purring. I now drive the extra couple of miles to come back. Read Less
