We've used Metro West on several occasions, the last being on Christmas Day, when we had to rush our 14yo Akita mix in. They've always been kind and quick, especially that day. As soon as we walked Cubby in, she collapsed and had an accident. The employees were fast in getting her on a stretcher and to the back and cleaning up the mess while I had a break-down. They escorted us to a room immediately and within moments, we were told an X-ray was needed and we were asked if we consented to the cost. Of course, we agreed, and it seemed like only moments later the doctor came back in and gave us the news - she had severe bloat and at her age, they didn't recommend surgery...instead, we were told the most humane thing to do would be to have her put to sleep.I don't remember a lot after that point, as I was pretty hysterical. My parents were driving in from Joshua so they brought Cubby into the room to be with us until they got there so they could say goodbye, too. The doctor gave her pain medicine so she would be comfortable. When my parents arrived, we said our goodbyes, and they let me lay on the floor and hold her while she went to sleep.Everyone was incredibly kind, patient, and skilled. The doctor (I can't remember her name for the life of me) kept reassuring me I was doing the right thing and didn't make me feel rushed in making a decision. And they let me lay with her afterward, for as long as I wanted to. Like others have said, they are expensive. Very expensive. And they make sure they get their money. That's really the only negative thing I have to say about them. During the whole process, they made absolutely sure we were going to pay them before they'd do any procedure or give pain medicine. I get it....they have to make sure people aren't going to leave without paying or argue about charges, but in that moment, the last thing I cared about was the bill. I just wanted her to be taken care of. I guess I'm just more accustomed to our normal vet who has never made us feel pressured in that way. The visit, X-rays, pain medicine, euthanasia medicine, and cremation all came out to over $700. (We opted for private cremation, which made it more expensive.) That being said, I'm glad they were there for us that night. And they even offered to take paw prints of Cubby, which our normal vet doesn't do when pets pass, so that was a nice surprise. About a week later, we got the paw prints in the mail, along with a nice card.To sum up: nice place, kind people, skilled employees, but expensive. Read Less
