We have been visiting Parkwood for going on 8 years and have been seen by every vet- they are all wonderful: conscientious, respectful and intelligent, talented surgeons and informed in their field. That said, I’d like to give a special shout to Dr. Clark for always taking my concerns seriously, validating me, and being open to new information. Nice place. A little on the pricey side however, they don't try to sell you on something that isn't needed. The staff seems genuinely concerned about the well being of your pet(s). This place is the absolute best. When we moved to the area we researched a lot of vets nearby. We selected this over another one in the same area with similar reviews because based on their website Parkwood had what appeared to be an all/majority female staff, because girl power. What a great choice, clean facility, helpful & professional staff. The clinical staff takes the time to chat with you, including the vets and vet techs. They are not rushing out to get to their next appointment, and will discuss treatment options and answer questions. They come to appointments prepared, they clearly review the records before they arrive to treat. Our dog needed a lyme test because we had spent the summer in lyme disease country, the test is rare for this part of the country and they were able to figure out how to get it tied in with some other needed tests to save us money. I was expecting it to be super expensive since it had to be sent out. Prices are comparable to other vets, with far superior care and service, including the ones that bill themselves as "higher end." I cannot say enough about Parkwood. We LOVE them and will travel to them wherever we move in the area. Best vet we have ever used, and we have moved around the country a lot. I wish we liked their boarding packages, but we prefer play all day facilities. Don't take your pet anywhere else! Read Less

This hospital has the best staff! The location is great and they make me feel so welcoming. I always enjoy coming here especially when I see my cats name on their chalkboard. This clinic was recommended to me by one of my neighbors for our new rescue puppy.  I had made an appointment for later in the week to get her next round of puppy shots but she has been having really itchy skin lately and I called this morning and they worked us in in the afternoon to see Dr. Becker.  We really liked Dr. Becker and all of the staff at the clinic.  We were worked in but they took a lot of time to meet with us and answer our questions.  We will be returning to this clinic for all of our care for Millie.  I highly recommend this clinic. Able to accept appointment for new puppy with less than 24 hours notice. Our appt was kept on time. The vet technician was quite knowledgeable and very helpful with advice. Best experience ever at a veterinarian clinic. My dog is usually terrified at the vet but the sweet patient staff kept him more relaxed and happy then he has ever been at the vet. Exams are thorough and informative and they don't judge or make you feel bad if you decline a service. My daughter uses Parkwood for her Dobermans and they are wonderful with large breeds and great with my Scottie's. Facility is gorgeous , clean, and smells wonderful not like a dirty kennel like some vet offices. Their fees are also very reasonable . We are clients for life ! Read Less

Always a professional and welcoming atmosphere. My dogs and cats all go here as well as my parents' pets. They even get groomed here, kenneled here, and loved here! The receptionists are patient and helpful. The techs are knowledgeable and kind. And each of the vets  is fantastic as well! And the boarding staff seems to really care about my fur kids. I was worried about switching from our previous vet of nearly 15 years, but since he retired we decided to try Parkwood. And we were not disappointed! We've been here now around 2 years and we plan to stay.Some say they are pricey, but actually they are average for such a high quality establishment. You get what you pay for, and I have full confidence they offer the best care they have available from the staffing to the tools of their trade to the drugs/medication. My Daschund 15 years old at the time of March 1, 2016 got extremely sick..I call his regular Vet that had seen him his entire life up until this day. They only had one Vet working that day and could not see my dog. I explained that my dog was an establish patient and very sick and needed to get in and checked out. Well his long time vet was no help so I called Parkwood Animal. They were able to see my dog. He was dehydrated and had an Upper Respiratory infection. They gave him an Iv with fluids, a B12 shot and medicine. After a few days at home I noticed he had this congested cough Since it was Thursday I wanted to get him looked at again. I took him in that Friday morning at 8 and picked him up at noon. They diagnosed that he had fluid in his left lung. So he was put in a diuretic....he did get rid of the fluid in his lungs. He did get to feeling better. However, even though he wasn't sick he seemed to just start feeling and acting like he was old. He was old. Parkwood Animal was very good to me and my dog. My dog seen to just struggle with his health and he loss control of his bladder and I could see he was deteriorating. It was very hard on me to decide to put him to rest. I decide that on June 6 and on the evening of June 7 we went to Parkwood Animal and had him out to rest. The vet techs and the vet Dr. Were the most compassionate, loving and caring people to us as I went thru the process. The vet explained every step to me and was so compassionate....I held him the entire time as he passed. This was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life....I highly recommend Parkwood Animal for your pet.Read Less

I took my dog here to get neutered and microchipped by Dr. Bachynsky, as he has been to Parkwood for all his other needs like shots and heart worm. Every single time I visit, the entire staff is extremely professional and you can tell they truly care about the animals they are seeing. My dog can be a little standoffish to strangers, but he's really taken to the vet techs he sees and always comes home a happy camper. I would recommend this veterinarian office to anyone in the area. I've never boarded my Westies before so I was very anxious about leaving them. They were in a luxury suite together and coincidentally had two Westies in the suite next door. The other Westies were very happy which made me feel more at ease about leaving my two. Dr. Stehouwer happened to walk by and made the time to comfort me about leaving my furbabies. The atmosphere and the staff was very pleasant. The facility was clean, up-to-date, and beautiful. My Westies were not stressed when we picked them up two days later but were actually quite well adjusted and happy. Thank you for taking care of my furbabies! THIS IS THE PLACE TO BRING YOUR CATS AND DOGS! Absolutely trustworthy and knowledgeable and caring staff. Bonus - the animals know full well where they are going when they get to the door and they do NOT pull back to get away...they in fact are willing participants. When I sadly said goodbye to my family vet of over 15 years (some of those years I even worked for him as a vet tech), I was concerned that I would not be able to find a doctor or a staff with standards of care and professionalism I was accustomed to. BUT I DID! In fact, all the doctors I've met here are wonderful, knowledgeable, compassionate, and I can tell Dr. S expects a lot of herself and of her staff. The employees are warm, helpful, and follow high-standard protocols and procedures. I've been very impressed with everything from the grooming/kenneling to front desk Customer Service to the amazing technicians and veterinarians.
