Dr. Blythe and her entire staff awesome. She is very thorough and gentle too. I have 4 children, which 2 of them have 4 legs and a little extra hair 😊🐾🐾💕 We were using a different veterinarians office for forever before our move. Just like finding yourself or your children a new doctor, the nervousness was the same. We have now been to Pet Vet twice. I couldn't be more please. The facility is very clean and doesn't stink. To ice the cake, their prices aren't bad at all. I'm now paying way way less than before and I have to say I feel, we have a better treating veterinarian than before. I was kind of shocked. Moving from one place to another. God must of knew my anxiety was in full effect about finding a new veterinarian. I'm glad that Pet Vet is where we ended up. Recently my wife and I took our dog in for an ear infection and her first wellness exam since we adopted her. The front staff has always been wonderful. However, their prices seem to get more and more expensive with each visit with no notification ahead of time. While we were in the exam room, the vet was constantly in and out. Never gave us any options on how to treat the ear infection. Just told us what meds were going to be prescribed and left before we could ask anything else. Didn't even clean the ears for the very high bill (which we later found out was very overpriced compared to others - literally found out we paid double). Very cold. We adopted a sweet dog from Friendswood Animal shelter last year and had her spayed here. She also had a tooth that needed to be removed and we wanted to get that taken care of at the same time. They went the extra mile for us by contacting the shelter to see if They would cover the cost of the tooth removal. They did a great job and she had a quick recovery. Staff was very nice and friendly. The thing I'm most impressed about is how they work with the local shelters. We just adopted another dog from BARC Houston, they give you a list of vets by area code that offer free check-ups for animals rescued from them. This was the only vet in my area that did this. If I could give no stars I would, we have taken both our cat and dog to this location a few times and every time it's over 350 for little tests and things they add on, they told us we couldn't get our animals flea medication without getting a heart worm test.. so we got the test in February it's now April and we took our dog in to get a rabies shot and a refresh of his flea medication and they're requiring we take the heart worm test again or we can't get a rabies shot .. mind you this test is over 120$. last time we went in the nurse broke our cats collar and we got no reimbursement or fee off our bill they're unprofessional and I won't be bringing my animals here again. Im so upset with this place right now. I took my baby kittin in (2 months old) because he wasn't feeing well. Turns out he has a URI. I spent over 300.00 on medication for him and a culture (which I found out later was really not even necessary). I never received a call after asking how he was or if he was feeling better. ive never not had a Vet do this. So, 3 days of medicine later and he's still sneezing and cant breath. I call up and ask if there is anything else I should be doing. The lady on the phone immidiatly says, "You are refrigerating the medicine right?" Um, no. That was never told to me. Why would I do that? Btw, no.."Im so sorry." Nothing. No concern at all in her tone. Then she says, "Can I put you on hold?" Before I even say another word...Im on hold. She then comes back on and says, "You can come by and pick more medicine up or if its better for you we can give you one that doesnt require refrigeration." Thats not the issue. I never knew to refrigerate it or I would have and btw, my cats getting worse poor thing. So I ask..."Well are you telling me that this medicine isnt good anymore?" She said yes because it needed to have been refrigerated. She then goes on to tell me that they told me that in the room and that it says it on the box. Mind you the box is so small you cant read anything on it and my friend that was with me doesnt recall them saying that either. This is my baby cat I just got. If you told me to refridgerate the medicine I would have. Its not a problem. I asked how much it would be and she says 65.00. NO CARE IN HER TONE! Are you kidding? No discount. No concern. Just, your problem...if you want your cant to breath...we need your money. This place is a joke and Ive never been treated like this at a VET''s office ever. My husband and I took our puppy here for his shots. Before I went I called twice for a quote on everything he needed the both times I called I was told the same price. When I went they charge me more and told me next time I was going to pay the same or even more, when that's not what they had told me before hand. Now I don't like being lied too, first impression counts. I wouldnt of minded if they had told me how much they charged in reality and i had agreed to it. I told them about the quote and they ignore me in person like if i nevered said anything. Then I called and they made it sound like I was crazy or like if I was making it up. Unfortunately, I didn't record the calls or names, but they lost us as customers. The doctor didn't seem too friendly either. I also feel like this place just wants to do unneeded procedures on pets to make money. Go to banfield at petsmart they're great. Read Less

I have had very positive experiences here. My cat Boris had an injured leg requiring surgery. The vet took him home overnight for observations and cared for him. That's what I call service! She was also an Aggie- Gig 'em! Read Less

I am a new pet parent with limited knowledge and had an issue with my cat gagging but nothing coming up. I called the clinic and they were able to get me an appointment in the hour. My dog is 10 yrs old and has many health problems. Her most recent was an eye infection in one eye and loose canine teeth. I wanted an opinion of what could be done for these problems. I never got to see the vet. The vet was at the previous booth with another customer. The vet kept sending the tech over to ask me questions etc. The last question, without seeing my pet was "Do you want to treat these problems?" It was exactly 20 minutes past my appointment time so I left. There is no privacy in the treatment areas, they do not respect your time and they allow the vet tech and customer to diagnosis and treat the pet apparently. NO THANKS, I will go back to Paws and Claws were I used to go. Read Less

I wouldn't return here.  I have two healthy cats.  When I took them for their annual shots when they turned two (rabbies, leukemia, etc), both cats had reverse reactions.  The cats began throwing up and defecating everywhere, so I rushed them back.  I thought they were going to die.  The vet did a shot of Benadryl and sent me on my way.  The same thing continues, but this time I rush them back before even getting home.  We get another shot of Benadryl and about 20 minutes of monitoring time.  I didn't take my cats in the following year because I thought they'd surely die.  Now that I have a new vet, I've learned  it was the type of shot the old vet gave my cats, negative reactions were common.  PetVet didn't charge for the Benadryl shots, but they also dismissed the negative reactions as genetics.  We did their annuals with no problem with the new vet. This stand-alone building has room for check-ups, surgeries, and a pet food side boutique. We usually call ahead for appointments and never have trouble checking in at the reception desk. They once did not have our heartworm medication in stock, but they easily forwarded a prescription to another Pet Vet location (closer to my work) for me to pick up. The entire clinic is kept very clean, despite what must be many pets that go through there on a daily basis. One thing I dislike is that there is almost always a different doctor to see our dogs, but I think they all, vets and vet techs alike, take care of our dogs very well--they ask background questions to make sure our dogs are doing well, take note of small abnormalities, make recommendations on weight and dental health of the pet. The other day I had my dog, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever name Zico, in for surgery. They told us that we had to deliver him between 7:00am - 8:00am, that was no problem. Then they said he will be done at 4:00pm, but they called and said that he won't be ready before 7:00pm. Kind of stupid when my dog didn't get any food in the morning. When I comes down to the surgery they did a good job and he was treated good, he was happy when we got him back. When we got home we realized that we were missing some stuff on his collar, they lost  his dog tag worth 20$ and they lost a capsule that had 3 snake bite pills in it, worth 40$. The dog tag and the capsule is kind of hard to misplace, because it was attached to the dog collar and the dog tag has a Norwegian flag painted on it with our number on it. Instead of replacing it for a new one or give us money back they used 2hours to find it. It has not been found yet.But thanks you for the surgery! Read Less

We called in for an appointment a day before and were able to get seen the next day. We were in and out in less than an hour on a Thursday afternoon. For the safety of your pet do NOT go here. The doctors are bossed around by the office manager and when she doesn't like their call she let's them know! After taking a tour of the back of the house I was absolutely disgusted! It was filthy with expired meds that the office manager would throw out because they were "still good". The turn over rate in unreal here and I'm sure for valid reason. This place seriously only cares about the money!!!! My wife and I are new to Houston so when we arrived the 1st thing I did was look for a Vet. I liked the look of PetVet and the staff and we started taking our 3 dogs there. Since then we have only had routine visits except for when my Dog Ethos was Neutered. Thed did an excelent job on him and his recovery was extremely quick. I was very nervous about the whole idea of my dog being casterated but it went great. (My opinion not Ethos's) As for the students working there, That is great. I love their energy and caring deminor and I love to see young people get a chance to better them selves. Paige, even a doctor with years of experience isn't flawless. We do the best we can and we hope for the best. I sold on this clinic and will continue to take Lucy, Lady, and Ethos there when ever they need a good vet. Read Less

I took my pet to see the new vet(Fay) here since the old vet (Keonig) is no longer there and I really thought he just there waiting to retire and I never felt he really cared about the well-being of my pet. I decided to give PetVet another chance because my vet was closed for the day on the day my pet got sick. After 3 visits here this is what I experienced. The vet charged me for a nearly $100 antibiotic when he could just as easily given me prescription for the same antibiotic available for pets at Target and Kroger for $4! The vet hires and lets students in vet tech school practice on animals while under no direct supervision. My ill and weak pet was subjected to two blood withdrawals because the vet tech student didnt know who to use the blood work machine. My pet was subjected to multiple urine tests and I never even received a call from them with the results and that was my initial reason for the visit. After my pet got worse I had to ask the vet if I should stop with the antibiotic. His response was I would. The vet charged me for x-rays even though he had no idea how read one with any accuracy and then just referred us to a specialist. This is not a vet that cares for animals this place is all about making money. My pet had cancer and I highly doubt she needed the antibiotic to begin with. I wish I could sue. Read Less

Really feels like 2.5 stars, I'm being nice.After going back and forth with vets, I decided to settle on this place for my new puppy. They have previous records of our older dog as well.First visit was nice and short with a lot of attention to my questions and concerns since I wasn't familiar with pup's background (backyard litter). Dr. Koenig was welcoming and very attentive to pupster.Second visit (today) left me less satisfied. Had pup's crazy nails clipped first then was told the vet was in surgery at the moment. Waited for 40 minutes before we even saw him, luckily, pup didn't whine the entire time. I, on the other hand.... well, I whined in my head. I don't know why they would schedule an appointment then have him be in surgery. Came in for booster shots and the vet tech ended up giving them so why did I have to wait for the vet to tell me a few words then hand us off to the VT? I am less than happy. Read Less
