I've been going to Dr. Bobo for going on NINE years (!) now. Shortly after moving to Frisco with three aging dogs (one pretty special needs/high care), I asked the owner of the petsitting service I used who she recommended, and she suggested Dr. Bobo. It was totally on the other side of Frisco, from my home, but because that person was the only dog person I knew at the time and she was familiar with my animal companions and their health issues, I gave it a shot. There has not been a single time I've been driving either to or from Animal Care Centre that I have not thanked my lucky stars for her recommendation, for Dr. Bobo, and for the loving staff at ACC. I could go on and on with personal anecdotes, but then I would never be able to finish this review. The short of it is this: Dr. Bobo is everything I could ask for in a veterinarian. He's a true animal lover, he's honest and compassionate. He's also affordable. And he will LISTEN to you carefully and often remember things you don't remember mentioning when piecing together a difficult diagnosis. We all should be so lucky to have such a doctor. His core staff has been with him for years and the few I know of who left over the years did so because they were going to school or having a baby or something-(and even they had been with him for years prior). Again, I've been going to him for close to a decade, so I would know. That says a lot, because that has to be a kind of stressful job when you stop to think about the sad things they must see every week. Judging from all of the 'help wanted' signs I see driving past other vet clinics, I would say the staff at ACC must be quite a bit happier than other places' staff. And that means better care for your pet. With regard to the 'woman who works reception': OK, she's not the most superficially chipper person, but I think she's a genuinely good person in the ways that truly matter. There have been a few times I have really needed something and she has come through for me when anyone else would have said "sorry, I can't make that happen." That means a lot to me. It is not cheap having a senior animal companion, let alone multiple seniors, or (multiple animals of any age) if you try take care of them the way you should. But Dr. Bobo makes providing the kind of care your pets deserve affordable. He will not upsell you on unnecessary services or anything like that. He is a gentle, soft spoken guy, but if your pet has a terminal condition he will not give you false hope if you pursue this or that $$$$$$ treatment (and tragically, having lost a deeply loved dog to an always-terminal type of cancer, I speak from experience when I say those vets ARE out there). Likewise, when your pet has a treatable health condition, he will give you different treatment options (where there are options) and tell you what he would would do if he was in your shoes (which often is not the most expensive option, btw), but ultimately, you decide what world best for your pet and your budget. No pressure. I've been so fortunate to have a life blessed with so many dogs and one cat, and a few foster dogs. Almost all of those beloved guys past and present went to ACC. This review is based on my personal experience with ACC, and contrasting that experience with a few other veterinarians I have seen in the area. You have many choices for a veterinarian in Frisco, but you will not find a better veterinarian and staff than Dr. Bobo and Animal Care Centre. Read Less
