They are an excellent vet all around! I personally think they charge a bit much, but then again you get what you pay for and I get what I feel what I get here is the best possible care for my dog hands down! I have been a customer of Stonebriar Vet now for close to 8 years.  But after my visit Wednesday Aug 9th I will be looking for a new vet.I came in for a visit just to pick up treats ($124 worth) only to be standing at the front desk for 20 minutes. I checked both doors and they had an "Open" sign hanging. I finally knocked on the door leading to the back after an elderly male customer entered that was as confused as I was.  Out comes the blond girl that works there ( said her name was Meghan but not sure if that was accurate)  She was completely rude, unapologetic, explained " we always have a staff meeting on Wednesday " as if it was our fault they had an open sign, doors unlocked. I asked her who the manager is she states " there's not one". I had to ask her for bags for my items. She acted as if she was doing me a huge favor ringing me up. After being a loyal customer for as long as I have, buying my treats there versus online where it's cheaper...I'm sure I've given them plenty of money to not have to go into their place to be treated like shit by their staff. Dr Wilcox needs to take more stock in who she hires to interact with her customers. Or maybe Dr Wilcox simply doesn't care either because she can't be completely unaware. Dr. Wilcox is amazing!  My cat is difficult to handle when it comes to the vet or grooming.  I have been coming here for 5 or 6 years now.  Dr.  Wilcox and team are very understanding.  I call before his visit and they are prepared to take care of him as soon as we check in.  She knows how to keep his stress levels low and we no longer need sedation for each visit.  She is a compitent and caring vet who knows and appreciates how much people love their pets.   Thanks so much! These guys are the best! I drive all the way from McKinney to take my pets to them. They are always super friendly and fast to get me the help I need! I was running late to pick my bunny up from staying the day for treatment with them and they kindly waited an extra 30 minutes to close just to let me grab him (I had an emergancy at work). I'm so impressed! I felt awful for being so late but the staff was so understanding. ESPECIALLY the vet tech I spoke to (short blonde girl). I'm thrilled- I will continue to bring my pets to them in the future for all my animal care needs. Read Less

Our multiple 4 legged Kern children have been with this center for 10+ years. They have always been kind, attentive & professional. (Our vet once picked up a little known issue with our girlie dog and worked with us to resolve the issue quickly.) The facility is wonderful and i would highly recommend the group. Read Less

I have had dogs all my life and I have never experienced better care than at SVC. Dr Mensik has been our vet for 11 years now, ever since we brought home our golden retriever. She has had several illness and issues over those years but the care and treatment Dr. Mensik and the entire SVC staff has provided her(us) reaffirms my feelings that this team in the best there is. I no longer live close to their office however I still drive the 45 miles to SVC for all my dogs care, I would never dream of going anywhere else. Read Less

We have been patients since they opened their doors and worked with Dr. Wilcox prior to stonebriar opening. We cannot express our trust, gratitude and appreciation for all the staff at SVC enough. Our dogs are our life and we wouldn't trust anyone else with their health! They are extremely knowledgable, stay trained and educated on the latest in vetinary medicine, have strong contacts with other vets and specialists, work together as a team and a have calm, sensitive, caring manner in which they treat their clients- both human and fur babies. They continually go above and beyond for our family! You can't get better care in the area and this coming from pet parents with very high standards and expectations of who cares for their fur family members health and well being. I would pay a million dollars to get my pet what she needs. I adore this place. They treat my sweet babe like a queen. Love SVC!!! If you have issues with this place its probably because your too cynical LOL Not only did they help me with the bill if i cant afford it but they make sure they gave me all the information i needed in order to keep my little one happy and healthy. We are new to town and needed a vet with boarding because our dog is older and always felt more comfortable having a vet there in case of an emergency.  Boy were we wrong about this place!  Our dog was examined by the vet and we were given a report that he was in great health.  When we got him home we noticed he was very lethargic and there was dried blood in his bed and all over the blanket he had during boarding.  I examined my dog and noticed no visible cuts and while I was examining him I noticed a foul smell.  I put him down to prepare a bath and he started popping blood all over the floor, that solved the blood mystery.  My husband called the vet and left a message in the general voicemail and he wrote down the number for the pet ER on the message.  We called the ER and we were told to bring him in immediately!  We found out he had a GI infection and had we not brought him in he would have been dead by morning.  The vet at the ER asked if the staff at Stonebriar called us or mentioned the blood?  We told him we had papers that said he was great during boarding just a bit shy.  The ER vet was in disbelief that nobody noticed the blood. $450 later we headed home and our dog had a lot more energy.  We stayed up all night to ensure he was doing okay, the folks at the pet ER did a great job!The next business day my husband called Stonebriar again and got the receptionist on the phone.  They told him they never got a message about calling us back or that our dog was ill.  He requested that the vet that originally examined my dog when we brought him in for boarding call him back to discuss my dogs health and to let him know his boarding staff did a poor job.We have yet to receive a call back from the vet!  For a vet that mentions in the Yelp profile that he is caring...I would say that's not the truth!WARNING:  DO NOT trust these people with your animal.  I love and care for my pet, that is why I am writing this review, I don't want other owners to put their fur babies at risk! I have always felt that the care and professionalism of this facility is superb.  I have had several animals live out their lives with the care of these great doctors.  The pricing for this facility isn't greater than anywhere else I have encountered.  What you do receive is the best diagnostic advice aside from going to Texas A&M and access to speak to a doctor if you need to.  Drs Wilcox, Menzic and Gutierrez are top notch and I know they care and have the best interest of my animals and me in mind.And they are tons of fun.  Try them out.  It's worth it. My dogs a re extremely important in my life and the Vets at Stonebriar feel the same way, it is because of this that i LOVE this place.  The vets are very experienced and they are extremely attentive.  You can call them for questions and they truly call you back ASAP.  You never feel rushed and the care they provide is the BEST bar none. Avoid like the plague.  Overcharge bc of area and aren't open on Saturdays.  Kept my 3 dogs bc I had bonchitus.  I came back to pick group up from getting shots, maybe 2hours later, they charged for stuff not needed and to boar...18 bucks or so, for each.   Then, when the dogs got outside, they pee'd for what seemed like 10 minutes; they hadn't taken them outside.  Enter at your own risk.  Search for best vet for you and ur family, no matter how long it takes, and don't play the overcharge bc I can game with these vets.  Find a good, country vet out in the wilderness; they tend not to have large overhead, which causes these vets to rape ur pocketbooks, in my estimation.  Your dog has allergies, get referral to dermatology vets at Animal Surgical CTR at Trinity.  Don't let them charge u out the wazoo, just to pay for same thing at dermatologist specialist, bc these vets will.  Same with eye and joint issues.  And be careful of these blood test they charge 100 bucks for.  Ask questions and understand options; don't be too emotional bc that how they get you and later you'll realize you overpaid all. Decided to give stonebriar a try after being frustrated with my regular clinic in west Plano. Took my pup in for just a routine check of an ear infection. In and out in no time. Yeast cleared up with the ointment within a week. The part that really impressed me is that after a week passed, they called to see how she was doing. I didn't answer the first few calls, but they persisted for a few days, which would normally be a bit annoying, but instead actually felt like they truly cared about whether the topical they had givenme was working and she was feeling better. I boarded my fur baby here for $32/night. I've never boarded my dog before so I was worried about his feelings when he realized I wasn't coming back for him for a week, but my bf assured me my fur baby is just a dog and doesn't care I'm not with him every night. This vet is very legit and fancy and huge. It's like a big log cabin inside. When I called them the day of pick up, the tech I spoke with kindly reported of my baby's daily routine and it sounded legit and not like she was reciting random dog narratives she gives to every pet owner. My dog came back healthy, happy, and normal so I am a happy customer and will recommend and use Stonebriar to board my fur baby again.  Dr Guttierez even called me personally the day after I picked my dog up to give me a report on my dog, and as a health care professional myself I really appreciated her call. Today was my dog's first visit to Dr. Wilcox.  He was in for his yearly exam and vaccinations.  Dr. Wilcox was very friendly and thorough.  She even gives a printout of everything she examined which includes notes on things we discussed.  I honestly was very impressed with service.  She was very informative and helpful.  Her assistant was also very informative and helpful.  We are new to Texas and I'm keeping her as my vet.  I would definitely recommend her. My family has been taking our dogs to see Dr. Lollie Mensik, DVM since 2003. The staff at Stonebriar is amazing! Dr Mensik has the best bedside manner and is a top-notch Doctor. I would never trust my dog (Tressa) with anybody BUT Stonebriar Veterinary Center. Read Less

Over the years we have visited many of the Veterinary centers in the Frisco area. Stonebriar is fantastic. The vets are competent and caring; the place has a feel of a home away from home for our English Bulldogs. Of course they take wonderful care of them, the staff knows them by sight, and the little extras regarding their care are great. Many of the vets around the area do a good job and have excellent facilities too. But it is those moments when hardship strikes regarding your pet and how the vet responds, that Stonebriar separates itself from the rest. They took such great care of our dog and family during a medical crisis that we cannot ever see trusting anyone more with our bullies. Read Less

I am editing a review I posted recently about Stonebriar Vet Centre.  After addressing my concerns with the owner, who was proactive in finding solutions to my "complaints".  This is a good sign of someone who cares about her business and her customers.  My complaints were valid and my dogs are a top priority and I am a worrisome parent!! =)We had continued to go to them even after my negative review because I do like Dr. Mensik and to give them the benefit of the doubt.  She has been outstanding and taken very good care of our dogs.  I highly recommend her.I was impressed by the owner and her desire to fix what she could and explained well any issues that maybe were not so easily fixed. I have been a client of Stonebriar Vet Clinic for a few years now and feel very blessed to have found such wonderful care takers.I take my three dogs for their regular 6 month and yearly exams and one of them is an Eng. Bulldog which has medical problems frequently. The staff all remember my pets and their unique needs. One of my pugs has terrible anxiety when getting his toe nails trimmed so I have given up and now let their technicians trim them. They understand that pugs do not like to be constrained so they do not hold him down and force it, instead they are very patient and let him walk around the table just trimming one nail at a time.When one of my dogs broke their leg they made themselves available immediately and helped find the best orthopedic surgeon for me to take him to for surgery. When they were puppies I used to take them there for day care a few days a week in order for them to play off their energy and they always had a great time. It was so nice to come home with worn out puppies that just wanted to eat and go to bed!I appreciate the level of care and service they provide whether it be an emergency or I just need a refill of my dogs heart worm and flea preventative. I have recommended them to friends and family who have also been very happy with their experiences. Read Less
