Our family owned and operated mixed animal practice has been proudly serving Gatesville & the surrounding communities since 1995. Dr. Kerry Newman has been a practicing veterinarian for over 30 years and is a Texas A&M alumni. Dr. Ashley Gerrard graduated from Mississippi State in 2014 and has been an Associate Veterinarian at our clinic since July 2014. Our technicians (two of which are LVTs) are highly trained & have numerous years of experience. Two have been on our staff for over 5 years. Our doctors and their caring staff are dedicated to providing the best possible care for your family’s pets and livestock. Our clinic performs an array of routine surgical procedures and highly recommend utilizing our surgical laser (even for routine spays/neuters) which results in less bleeding, pain and faster healing; we offer laser therapy which has been found to be beneficial in treating arthritis & numerous other inflammation complaints; small animal and equine dentistry; in-house diagnostics, digital x-ray, routine & wellness exams, vaccinations, medications, preventative medicines, micro-chipping, baths, dips & limited grooming, indoor/outdoor boarding facilities and offer farm calls. We recommend and stock Hill’s Science Diet pet foods. Dr. Newman & Dr. Gerrard understands how important it is to be available in the event your pet, horse or livestock becomes ill or injured after hours. The “Doctor on-call” can be reached for emergencies by calling the clinic’s after-hours number (254-404-5206).

I did not like the fact that although I had an appointment for yearly shots and physical, the vet was not there. The assistant would not let me go in with my 2 cats either. I almost walked out. Otherwise it was ok. There is a coupon on their website for your first visit that I did use.

Two rattlesnake bites, a wasp bite and most recently a broken foot. Nelli and Willy have been well cared for. Thank you to everyone at the office for your passion and love for animals.

This is a great Clinic. I have been going there for over a year for both my cats and my small dog. They are always so helpful and friendly there. My dog loves coming to the vet, he doesn't see it as a frightening experience. He loves all the attention he gets from the staff. They make it a safe and relaxing environment for my pets. I live all the way in Cove and I believe the drive is well worth it. They are reasonable priced and I recommend them to all my friends.

When my dog had face full of porqupine quills i phoned them and they were very nice, and took our dog right away. They were reasonably priced, and very polite. We will return for future vet needs.

Had to take our baby to a VET in Austin they are good but not my BAR N but we travel back and forth in the summer its nice to know I have some one close by BUT I will always call BAR N for guidance....
Had to take our baby to a VET in Austin they are good but not my BAR N but we travel back and forth in the summer its nice to know I have some one close by BUT I will always call BAR N for guidance. in fact I just got off the phone with them due to my husband giving 10 pounds more to my baby which made the VET here in Austin think we are not feeding our dog. It was an emergence thing could not drive back 2 hours. The VET in Austin wants to see him in 10 days but we got the med records and my baby will go to BAR N for a recheck.

I agree with Karen Augeri's. I put my 16 year old chihuahua poodle thing down today, July 13, 2015. One of the nurses that was there was with Sugar since the very beginning. 5 months ago, it was my 9yr old Doberman, Azara. 5 years ago, it was my 14y old lab-retriever mix, Nala, albeit we put her down at home as I didn't want her suffering another hour. We gave her some of mom's morphine she had for her bone cancer and put Nala down ourselves. The staff is that amazing that we've used this office for that long. Whenever I get another dog, guess who the vet team is going to be?

I did not like the fact that although I had an appointment for yearly shots and physical, the vet was not there. The assistant would not let me go in with my 2 cats either. I almost walked out. Otherwise it was ok. There is a coupon on their website for your first visit that I did use.

This is a great Clinic. I have been going there for over a year for both my cats and my small dog. They are always so helpful and friendly there.
