Don't sign up for the wellness plan. They screwed up my account information so I couldn't update payment information, then sent me to collections agency and charged me for an entire year, after I paid monthly for seven years in a row without a hitch. My credit card expired and their systems would not let me update the information. I also once brought a friends pet in, which the corporate office added to my account, and I was never able to get the extra pet information taken off of my account, so for years they billed me for someone else's pet services at locations outside the local Banfield I visited. When I was able to get someone on the phone finally, I was told my only option was to pay for the entire year of services going 8 months forward, but would receive no services, then I could start a new account to pay again for services they already forced my to pay for under threat of collection reporting. Every time I have called the corporate office, I was treated poorly and was told they could not correct the errors in their system. The local Banfield staff were friendly and polite but told me there was nothing they could do to help. Read Less

If there were a way to give them negative stars I would. Took our dog here after finding a small mass on her paw pad on 9/8. Scheduled an appointment to have her teeth cleaned and mass removed on 9/19. When I didn't receive a call to confirm my appointment for 9/19 today, I called the facility. They had NO record of her appointment. I've now waited a week and a half to have hopefully a benign mass removed and they don't even have record. It seems like most people only bother to review when they have something to complain about. Many of the negative reviews here state that they've been going to Banfield for years and years and years, but *that ONE TIME!* Sad that they can't write their review about the reason they were still going after ten years.  Another reviewer has posted a patently false claim, they they're "always switching vets."  I have 5 animals, I am *always* over there, and I can vouch that this is in fact not even close to the truth.  The "new male vet" that was complained about in one review just finally fixed one of my dog's recurrent ear problems, after years of us trying different medications, so I'd hardly say that he doesn't know what he's doing.  I've been using Banfield in Georgetown for years, after multiple negative experiences at different vets in Georgetown.  After moving up to Georgetown, too far to keep seeing my old vet, I was having trouble finding someone who was able to properly treat and manage my old, diabetic cat.  My sister suggested I try the local Banfield, and I've been hooked ever since.  Dr. Flott and Vire quickly got my cat stable and properly managed again, and the new vet so far seems highly competent as well.  They always take the time to explain *everything*, and are excellent about keeping records and doing their best to keep pets calm and comfortable.  In my experience, they have been extremely thorough, and with two of my dogs getting up there in years, I'm glad I have a place I can trust. This location and well many of the Banfield locations seem to no longer care about your pet.  I started calling at 2pm to get a prescription refilled for my pet.  She has colitis and we had run out of the medication.  I started calling hourly, asking for the refill, we were waiting on the doctor to call it in to the closer Cedar Park location.  Each time I called I was told it was really busy and the doctor had not had a chance to call it in yet.  They close at 7 pm so I drove to the Cedar Park location, arriving about 15 minutes before they closed so I would be able to have the prescription for tonight.  They were unable to fill it because the doctor had still not called it over.  I called Banfield Georgetown once again, asking to please go talk to the doctor now.  Once she spoke to the doctor, the doctor said she was not going to refill it, mind you I'd been waiting all day to get an answer.  She wanted me to talk to the eye specialist that prescribed another medication causing the issue but in the mean time my pet has nothing to help her.  I asked if they could prescribe my pet something at the Cedar Park location and they said no, not without seeing her.  I asked if they could see her then and they said no because they were finishing up with their final patients and closing soon, the Dr. needed to finish paperwork and go home.  So here we are, sent away with no help from either location.  I had another issue trying to get an appointment a week ago at three of their other locations. I had also called this location on Sunday, hoping to speak to a doctor about my pet's colitis I called two times in fact and was told that they would return my call as soon as possible.  I never got a call back until Tuesday afternoon. I am unsure why they are unable to return calls about a problem with your pet the same day. If they are so booked up that it takes 2 days to return a call they need to get more doctors.I have been going to Banfield for over 20  years and paying for the monthly wellness plan every month for those 20 years for my dogs.  These days it seems that they no longer care about the wellness of pets but only about making money.  I will be looking for a new vet for my pets since my pets health is obviously not a priority to Banfield. I drive from Killeen to use this Banfield instead of the one down the road from my house because the staff is so accommodating and caring at Georgetown location. My dog recently had to have surgery through Banfield. Multiple times this location has gone above and beyond to ensure he received the best possible treatment. I have moved several times over the past few years and have always used Banfield. If it wasn't for the convenience , I have considered canceling the wellness plan and opting for a local vet. That being said, this Banfield is by far the best I have ever been to and has completely restored my faith in the the company. If you are in the area, I highly recommend them! Read Less

We have been bringing our dogs to Banfield in Georgetown for roughly 10 years now. However, in the past 6 months this place has gone downhill. They keep changing vets and the last time I took my dog less than a month ago to see what was wrong with her she was misdiagnosed. In fact, the male vet on staff that day, who is yet another new vet to the store said he would do the surgery to remove an obstruction in her stomach that day but there was some equipment problem that prevented him from doing so. Thank God, because when we took her to the vet hospital on 620 so they could do the surgery, they said she didn't need surgery and she really needed antibiotics instead. Also, we took our other dog in this month for a toe issue he often gets and the male vet(again new to the store) said he had no idea what it was. The thing is, we have a bottle of anti-biotic for our dog's toes, as he is prone to weird toe blisters, that came from Banfield in Georgetown so it's not like they don't have that info on record so he could have looked it up to see what the blisters were. I am concerned when 2 out of 2 times, the new vets have no clue what they are talking about. To add to my complete irritation with Banfield, my dog, the one with the toe blisters is now overdue for his rabies shot because they neglected to tell us his shot was due in December. No phone call, no mailer saying the rabies shot was due, and he was just in with the toe thing this January and they still didn't tell us. So, my dog is not protected from rabies at this moment and I am extremely unhappy with Banfield. Finally, on two different occasions we have had a sick dog and tried to get her in to see a vet. Both times we were told the first available appointment was for a week out. Seriously, what part of sick, vomiting, lethargic dog is eluding you? I have had to wait before for an appointment because someone had to bring in their sick dog and I get that as a pet owner. What is the point of paying for a wellness plan and spending tons of money there every year when you can't get your sick dog in to see anyway. There is a very good chance that we will be finding a new provider which is unfortunate as we really like Dr. Vire but lately we have been stuck with less than stellar vets and sub-par front desk staff(except for Elaine who is always caring and competent). We adopted a dog from someone who had him on a Banfield health plan.  To make a long story... not as long, Banfield failed to cancel his plan as requested, and later tried to bill the previous owner, which she then complained to us about.  When my wife called Banfield to settle the issue, she was told that we had to pay $279 to bring the bill current, which she did just to be done with it.  We later got a receipt indicating that my wife had actually paid for 7 months into the future, which isn't what the lady at Banfield explained.  When I called to complain, the same lady told me (very rudely) that the plan had since been canceled by the previous owner and the 7 months we paid for were gone with no refund.  Banfield is a real ripoff.  They have people fooled into thinking they're getting a good deal, but it's really a trap.  If you live in Georgetown, stay away from them.  We've gotten much better support from local vets such as San Gabriel Animal Hospital and Austin Avenue Animal Hospital.  Both were awesome.  They're MUCH more reasonable and you'll end up paying less in the long run because they won't try to fool you into paying for services you don't need or a plan you can't cancel. We have always used banfield for our dogs due to the convenience of their wellness plan and this location is no different than others we have used in the Austin area. We moved here last summer and were hesitant to move vets since we loved our vet at the bee cave location, but I am so thankful for the wonderful doctors and techs in Georgetown! Our puppy Floyd has been going since he was old enough for his first shots and they have made us feel so comfortable, especially the receptionist Ariel, she's so sweet and caring! They also know us by name, even though we don't come very often, it definitely makes us feel more confident in leaving our pups in their care! I highly recommend the doctors at the banfield in Georgetown, you won't regret it! Read Less

I'm not one to leave negative reviews, I believe that there are most always extenuating circumstances to most every point of contention that arises when dealing with a business, especially on short notice. My wife and I purchased the pet wellness plan from Banfield, meaning that we intend to use them as the primary provider for our pets. Twice now I've tried to get the prescription for my dog filled before a trip and twice now the vet who is assigned my animal is on vacation. Well the first time she wasn't on vacation, they just couldn't reach her. They not only do this but when they have been told that you want something they don't actually hold a prescription card for your animal requiring you to go through this whole thing any time you need something from them. Not only will the other vets not see you immediately, just to examine your animal and take a look at the other notes from their peer but they like to tell you all about the hippocratic oath that veterinarians take. Seriously, I fully believe that you can find more helpful veterinary expertise in the pages of Dr. Doolittle than at this place. The worst part is, we can't get our money back for this sham of a program that we enrolled our dog into. Be fully aware that if you need something from these people you might as well turn on a fan and spit into it as that's going to be the extent of helpfulness they provide. Read Less

My family has served since the Civil War. We are good people. I'm already heart broken as it is. My doggie is so old! He is 18 and I'm doing everything I can to make him feel better. So on top of my heartache I have to deal with rude doctors and receptionists. They are very prideful and are losing sight that they are here to serve. If there are any suggestions for a holistic vet that truly cares and is not just trying to get rich let me know. I don't have a problem paying these high vet bills. I have plenty of money! My problem is finding a genuine doctor and staff. I never complain on anyone because I believe in showing mercy. However, when there is unfair harsh treatment I must. Long story short the doctor hung up on me. When I got there to pick up my dog the whole staff knew who I was and was staring us down. I see that they already have several complaints and I hope management realizes everyone needs a refresher course on customer service. They also need some spiritual healing and a course on maturity. They didn't offer anything for the rude service. Their excuse was they were busy! Read Less

So far, have had a very positive experience at Banfield. The wait was longer than expected but the vet gave a lot of time and attentive care to my pet, so I'm going to guess the long wait is because each animal gets the same level of attention. I got my elderly cat signed up for a Wellness plan that allows me to take him in as often as needed (with most blood tests covered) which is a HUGE help because he goes to the vet every few months now. The vet asked me to call back in a few days with an update on his condition, and when I called back, the vet herself got on the phone fairly quickly (not just a "someone will take notes and maybe you'll get a call back" situation) and asked for a lot of details and gave me a lot of good feedback and advice on how to keep caring for my sick pet. Also, no idea why it took so long to find a vet who can properly manage a diabetic patient but I'm so glad I found them. Update: It's been six months and I've been several times (we have 6 pets) and Dr. Flott and Dr. Vire are still *great*, they always make sure I get all the information I need to continue caring for the animals at home. It's not at all that "bring them back for everything so we can charge you" attitude I've gotten at other places. They really take good care of the animals, understand their needs, and realize that only relying on once-in-while care from the vet is impractical. Will definitely keep going here! Read Less

This place is AWESOME. I woke up on a Sunday and found that my hedgehog was very sick and had an eye that looked severely infected. She is an exotic animal, and it was a Sunday, so I was very worried about what my options would be for taking her to the vet.I called Banfield and to my luck they said they had an exotics vet in that day, and she would be happy to see Penny. I took her up that afternoon and they saw her. The staff were so friendly and so knowledgeable and so willing to help. It was determined that Penny would need surgery to remove her eye, so we scheduled it for the upcoming Thursday morning. They prescribed her eye drops and an anti-inflammatory in the mean time. Fast forward to Monday, and Penny looked terrible. Dr. Flatt offered to come in on her day off and do the surgery, but I told her that I could wait if Penny was not in danger, which she assured me she was not. I brought her in Tuesday morning so the doctor could look at the eye. She said it was really okay to wait, but that if I was more comfortable she would be happy to squeeze Penny's surgery in that day. So they did her surgery then, 2 days ahead of schedule simply because I was a worried mess.Penny recovered well and they monitored her closely. I have been so impressed with this clinic and I will make sure to go back to visit them in the future. Definitely high quality in so many ways! Read Less

While the people at Banfield might be as nice as can be,  this was my first visit to the Gtown office. I have never been more disappointed. And, no Sean, sometimes people write negative reviews because there is actually something negative to say, not to make them feel better about themselves. This vet literally refused to provide paper prescriptions under the guise of  "vet only." Low and behold, the so called prescription tresaderm that she charged me $50+ ... Is 19 on amazon (by the trifexis is much cheaper at costco!). DID I MENTION THAT THE PRESCRIPTION EXPIRED THREE MONTHS AGO?I was under a very tight time constraint and standing there to check out,  and yes they knew it, but took another lady first. Did I have to delay client meetings on a friday? Yes I did. Was I in too much of a hurry to dispute in front of the four people lined up behind me? Yes. Here are their fees under even a wellness plan:DOGEar swab and exam - 28Anal gland express - 20Remicin ear ointment - 28House brand ear cleaner - 20And for a 10-yr old cat I took under my wing:CATNew cat exam - 30 - there wasnt much to this and they even have a free exam offer. Did they offer this to offset this bill like my austin banfield vet would have done? No.Ear cleaning - 18Ear swab and exam - 36Trasederm - 50 (online for 20!!)Rabies and feline shots - 42 (!!!)FINALLY, whoever filled out his paperwork did NOT read his record nor do they know golden retrievers (I cant believe I have to start driving my dog to the Mueller Petsmart). He far exceeds the withers standard by two inches and comes from a long prestigious show line. Too tall, broad, and block headed for show, with feet like bread plates,  he was classified as obese and in the notes told to put him on diet food (he already eats royal canin). His long term vet has always suggested the very weight he is at and as a member of several golden groups, he is just right. If he fell within traditional weight standards he would look sick.PLEASE DONT TELL ME TO FILL OUT A SURVEY OR APOLOGIZE BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE LIP SERVICE. In more than 50 years of vets in 3 different states, I have never had a vet visit which lasted for 3 hours.  My appointment was a 4, but I got a call asking me to come in earlier as 4 was the last appointment and that would not allow time to do any bloodwork. I arrived at 3, and waited for over half an hour before called.  Then, waited again, and again, and again.  Two blood tests were done, and each one taking 10 minutes I was told.  Oh, my poor sick kitty....3 hours!  Nothing was found....absolutely nothing.During the hours with nothing to do but hold my cat, I had plenty of time to look at the room we were in.  I was standing in dog hair from a previous patient!  That's when I noticed also the rest of the dirt.  Yes, I had seen them wipe off the table, but the rest of the room was unsanitary.  The vet and the technician were nice, but looked unprofessional, with wrinkled clothing and messy hair.  I had arrived at 3, and it was 6 when I paid a rather large bill. Recently I took my 8lb terrier to this vet.  I had a visit with Dr. Klambach - I found him to be unknowledgeable and unhelpful.  He suggested a run of tests and didn't even offer the most simple test for the skin condition that my dog had. For a vet with 4 years experience, I would have thought he had more knowledge.  He wasn't friendly to my dog either but just going through the motions and suggesting a litany of testing.  I had to go back because my dogs skin wasn't getting better.  However, I  went to Dr. Williams.  SHE is awesome.  You can tell she instantly has a good spirit with animals and knows how to treat them.  She immediately suggested a very inexpensive and simple and fast test to determine her hunch on what was going on with my dog.  She was right!  Now I could successfully treat my animal and didn't have to spend unnecessary funds.Katy the vet tech is also apparently the only vet tech there I feel I could trust and not out to gouge you.  She also was apparently very knowledgeable and her hunch was right on too!  The other vet techs kept saying I needed to spend money on unnecessary tests.  I can tell when people are out for greed.  If you are smart and really caring you would instantly know what was on my dog and just get to the point....not pretend you have no idea and have to run hundreds of dollars of tests to find out.   Honestly, if customer's would stop being sue happy I could also understand why doctors are so reluctant to diagnose.  Stick to Dr. Williams and vet tech, Katy.  They have hearts of gold and really care about your pet should you end up at Banfield in Georgetown.  Give them the benefit of the doubt as they are in it for the right reason.
